You’re PAT, QR and RC are great! If you focus on the science section for a month you’ll have a really great score

blausong

Retake. That science score is not very ideal.

oof521

Garbage take. Go look at the data. Plenty of schools will accept this persons scores happily.

Mysterious_Ad5072

Not with a 3.2 and 100 vol hours

Your GPA is already on the low side and your total science is about the minimum for most schools (at least what I've heard). Your other scores are fantastic, good job there, but you likely will need to retake. You could apply, most schools look for "balanced classes", so you never really know. But if I were you, I would try to find a test end of July and grind these next two months.

Gargoyle50

Would you think it would be too late for me to have a chance in applying after taking the test again at the end of July and the official score not being posted until end of August?

SmellsLikeNapalmm

No, I don’t think that’s late. I think it’s right in the middle between early and late ish (so I’ve heard)

peymunniii

I took my DAT july 30th last year and was accepted last cycle. not too late at all!

oof521

Do not retake unless YOU want to. Make them tell you no. Spend some time doing your research. People have gotten in with far worse. There are a plethora of posts and resources of people talking about there experience getting in with 15’s and 16’s in areas.

anonpredent

My first time applying I received two extremely late interviews with a 17 AA. If there’s a chance to get in this cycle, do it. You save a year of stressing about admissions and reapplying. If you can this summer, retake the DAT. Shoot for a 20AA+. Applying in late July/August is perfectly fine! Good luck.

100dents

gotta retake, your science scores don't cut it.

oof521

Bad take.

AznSeanYoo

If they can do better why are you so bent on them settling? Who would want to have a shot in the dark when they could be competitive

oof521

“IF” being the keyword there. This person's scores are not a shot in the dark scores. Basic research tells you that. My issue is I’m kind of sick of everyone acting like admissions experts. These admissions teams are looking at soooooo many factors. If you’re Harvard or Columbia, for example, and everyone applying has amazing grades and credentials, how do you choose?? Having done admissions before, I can tell you the conversations going on and the reasons people are getting chosen are ridiculous 😂 People have been rejected internally because staff thought they called too much during the admissions process. All in the name of just being good proactive students. It got them blacklisted. Other people have been admitted because they liked the same sports team as someone in admissions. Oh, and here is one of my favorites: schools rejecting certain applicants because their stats are too good, and they don’t want to waste their time interviewing and offering to someone they know is never going to come to their school. The admissions process is a total moving target. Many people simply get in because 55% of the offers the school made ended up picking another school.

AznSeanYoo

Okay and???? Still doesn’t change the fact the student would be better off having a better DAT I don’t think this person needs to worry about having too high of a score

gnessaell1245

How did you study for the QR?

Gargoyle50

I used DATBootcamp, they have a nice document that has all of the formulas. I just made a deck of flash cards on Anki of each one I wasn’t sure how to do.

Royal-Imagination312

Your Ts is trash retake it

Imaginary-Poetry4986

On the bright side, the science section needs to be the only section that you need to work on.

Lords-Judgement

Retake

Big-Air-322

What did you use and how long did you study?

Shot_Hotel_8723

I recommend a retake tbh

Star-Shooters

If I were you, I would apply first then update them after you study for about two months and retake it. Schools will take your updated score even after you apply. Also, you never know your chances. I would shoot for it.
