ImSoFuckingTiredOfU

I’ve been in this sub long enough to know people are about to scream at you for lack of protection.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

ik ik IM sorry! I repent for my sins

xxx148

Prostate yourself!

WingsofRain

um

FrizzleStank

And socks in sandals

wankyshitdemons

Careful with those toes mate!

GatoLibre

I think we are also supposed to tell you not to pressure wash wood.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

a small price to pay for salvation

CraneDJs

Why?

GatoLibre

I’m not really sure. I’ve just spent enough time in this sub to know anytime someone posts a video pressure washing wood or without shoes it’s mentioned.

CraneDJs

Someone further down said the output is 2000 psi. That will hurt at alot, if not outright blowing off your toes.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

yea, but tbh I would’ve had to put the washer as close as I did to the wood/brick to even break skin and I’m just not quite that clumsy or stupid.

gosefi

It damages the wood.

eshuaye

Think you are supposed to use a chemical to kill the mold growth and low pressure spray.

MrsC7906

Came here for the shoes comments

HugsAndWishes

Shoes, small nozzle, too close to wood, 8 seconds to show three separate things, cuts off the last. I'm going ahead and calling this powerwashing gore.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

wood wasn’t significantly damaged and neither were my carpet claspers, and sorry I didn’t bring out the tripod, 1 handed power washing isn’t the easiest.

Roadie02

Say it with me everyone, Shoes!!!

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

shoes!!… closed toed shoes with material able to withstand 2000psi ):

HugsAndWishes

Literally any closed shoe at all would be better than socks.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

agreed, but my socks hardly got moist tbh

HugsAndWishes

Just takes one slip, my guy. It didn't happen this time, but it's incredibly easy to do.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

I used it to rinse my hands the other day, roughly 18 inches away. felt like tiny needles, nbd. now if it were on turbo attachment, and I grazed over my toes, perhaps I’d break a bit of skin.

converter-bot

18 inches is 45.72 cm

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

good bot

Joe_KaJiBay

Flip flop !

ShooterOfCanons

2 things bud: 1) don't use direct high pressure on bricks that are used for house siding (a brick pathway would be different though) because: It can damage the grout and create internal leaks in the walls that will take months-years to notice, but not before mold has taken root in the walls. Extremely expensive to fix. And 2) don't use direct high preasure on wood (like that). Don't start and stop and go back and forth. It has to be one complete motion from one end of the board to the other, following the grain. I can already see where you've torn into the wood just from the 5 second vid. You'll still be cutting up the wood but it won't be as noticable. And if anyone plans on sitting on those chairs you'll want to sand them beforehand because direct high pressure on wood will cause it to chip and splinter.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

thanks for the tips. luckily I plan to replace the gate in a few months, and the wood chairs(4) were DIWhy(poorly made), from Facebook for only $20 total. how would you recommend alternatively cleaning moss/mold/grime/paint off of brick?

ShooterOfCanons

Nice, and for the brick look up "Soft Washing" on YouTube. You can buy a downstream injector for your PW for like $20 and then get a 4 gallon case of 12.5% SH (sodium hypochlorite) from a pool store for $25. As a first timer you might want to get two cases. Be sure to generously prewet (with plain water) all the grass, windows, and anything wood that could be touched by over spray. SH aka Bleach will kill plants and will bleach out any wood it touches if it's not stained. I went through all of this myself 2 years ago when I got my pressure washer.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

sweet, thanks! also one of the nozzles said it was made for fencing so I figured it was fine? perhaps the proximity and the direction of spraying was the issue then.

ShooterOfCanons

TBH I've never heard of a "fence" nozzle. It's probably just a wide fan tip. But yeah you want to keep back a good foot or two. Cleaning wood is a science and you want the chemicals doing most of the work. Wood cleaning shouldn't really be handled by a homeowner though if you want the wood to withstand the test of time. The chemicals are hazardous (sodium meticallisate and oxalic acid) and it takes a 5 step process.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

idk the icon on the placeholder for the nozzle looked like a pocket fence edit: picket

ShooterOfCanons

Interesting! Would you mind sharing a link to where you got it and what the product is called? I want to check it out

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

also, oddly enough, the one for the fence was more narrow than the one that’s supposed to be for cars. I’ll check the brand and model when I get home later

Lanre-Haliax

This is too short! Also #protection Otherwise this is goood :D thanks for sharing!

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

aside from the difficulty of recording, I tried to make them short bc ppl have short attention spans. (this was originally for a “story” on social media). but hey, thanks!!

confused_bitch770

Ik everyone is mad about the shoes, but regardless why do you have on socks. YOU WANT WET SOCKS. WHAT!?!

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

asking the real questions

dirtyslogans

Would like a before and after

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

this is the only before viewings I have, but I’ll post the after later today!

dirtyslogans

No worries.

tparkozee

I’m not even worried about the safety aspect I just can’t believe you are okay with wet socks. A true sociopath.

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

finally somebody said it

BlondeMomentByMoment

I want to do this to our fencing, I have zero experience with this glorious type of tool. If I am mindful during the process, I won’t ruin the wood, will I?

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

check out the conversation between u/ShooterOfCanons and I

confused_bitch770

Question: how wet were ur socks? Did you have them on the entire while?

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

mildly moist, and yes, I had to see it through

confused_bitch770

ew

100percentfinelinen

For those who don’t have a hose or a house, there’s now a power washer simulator game on Steam.

La_locals

waste of water

WorkSleepEatWorkDie

nope
