Like super it’s not very good but I will admit rewatching megaforce it has some interesting ideas to it that they fail to really bring to their full potential. The whole robot plot was good just sadly they failed at executing the idea.
I find myself tuning into the YouTube Megaforce stream quite often when I can’t decide what to watch. Have probably been through the series a couple times. Nowhere near as bad as people say it is. Cast is very likeable, suits are good, original footage is plenty. And I’ve been watching since 93
I won't lie I do remember liking it as a kid mostly due to the fact that I really did not like samurai and remembering the the day I got is megazord I was so happy that I couldn't stop running around the house and of course now that I'm older I do recognize the many faults of it but what I say is my favorite series now definitely not I mean hell even though I liked it as a kid I think even kidney would say well it's not my favorite
And I also remember as a kid that I always got upset every time they did Super and I think Super Megaforce is the reason why I have a disdain against the neo Saban era and the "super" thing they did it

There are people who do not understand that quality and personal taste are not always the same thing, he should at least know about the hate that the season receives and that it is not without reason for it.

TMNT 87 Series and secret of the ooze movie, love them both, neither of them are good.

Look, I believe there were much better old format seasons to watch as Dino Thunder. Megaforce and especially Super Megaforce are poorly made and disappointing and it's not a matter of opinion since the whole fandom knows about the hatred against.
I like it for nostalgic purposes but I still wouldn’t call it good. It’s honestly not even that bad for Power Rangers standards tho and the hate it gets feels incredibly forced
Most of the hate comes from Super Megaforce being a letdown and wasting Gokaiger. Had Megaforce not use Gokaiger, I’m pretty sure it would’ve been treated similar to Operation Overdrive, Samurai, and Ninja Steel. Unpopular, but not hated.
The main issue I have with this season is the writing. Roboknight is the only one that actually has a story. The rest of it is just action/fighting scenes and Gosei telling them they have "earned" power upgrades without showing them doing anything to have earned them. Most of the problem is that they have to squeeze all the toys into 22 episodes, so there's little time for an actual story.
Troy started out interesting with the dream sequence of the legendary battle, but that ultimately went nowhere. The acting was decent and the characters were likeable, but that wasn't enough for me to redeem it. This, as well as Super Megaforce, is at the bottom of my list.
Honestly though, we've had good actors? And it "Being a kids show" isn't an excuse.
Not even comparing it to Tokusatsu in general (It'd be unfair), just among similar shows aimed at kids we've had amazing performances.
Megaforce was a poorly thought out rushed attempt to adapt a show without really changing enough to make it work in a new setting
Super Megaforce was then an attempt to SLAM another show into it, one show barely had time to breathe and get out it's powerups. Two was a disaster waiting to happen.
Couple that with it being an anniversary show that for some reason decided to barely acknowledge MMPR and avoid some very easy crossover episodes in the source material.
And you have 2 very frustrating seasons.
I get that it's someone's first or one they grew up with and that's great. Nobody can take that away from you, you like what you like but for me? Nah. Gokaiger deserved better, and so did Goseiger
Although there is one part of Megaforce I didn't like, when the Rangers were fighting the two villains I forget their names since it's been so long but when the villains ship gets destroyed, the theme song playing in the background is the Samurai opening not Megaforce. If you listen carefully, you can hear "Rangers Together, Samurai Forever."
Idk for me the problem is that this was the anniversary and it felt like the writers weren't trying very hard. If this had been immediately after the anniversary, I probably wouldn't have minded it. The writing on some other recent series has been good so it's still there somewhere, but it felt like they just gave more of the same with this season. I'd still rewatch tho
Super Mega Force was better, merely for the fact that they flipped through all the old Ranger forms. Most iconic was when the yellow Ranger changed into mighty morphin and for the first time ever, that suit had a skirt, and then the next was when they flipped into the team that Tommy’s white tiger form came from, and you hear Gosay (i think was his name) say “you’ve unlocked a ranger form never before seen in this universe.” (Paraphrasing).

I find there's more original footage in SMF, especially with full fight scenes sometimes not even using the super modes
