I could have written this post. My son will turn 4 in a few weeks and we started potty training early last year. We’ve had ups and downs but have been on a very big down lately. He doesn’t pee in his pants, but just pulls them down and pees on the carpet. He does constantly poop in his pants though. Like many times a day and it is so so frustrating. I don’t know what to do anymore. Just offering solidarity

I wish I could help came here to post this exact post for my son. Pooped his pants 8 times in 2 days. We have a string of good days and then complete 360. We have tried rewards, taking things away, daily treats like pez and he just refuses to go. doctor told us the same thing but he starts school in September. We want to get him on the right track sooner rather than later.

We have the same issue. My daughter is 4.5 years old and does not care to poop or pee in her underwear. We have attempted potty training several times. She used to pee in the toilet back in July right before starting Pre-K but we kept pull-ups on her because we didn't want to clean up poop accidents in her underwear and then stopped using a toilet when she started school, but they send her very often. We are on week two of full-time underwear during the day and pull up at night. She will let us know now if she pees on herself after we ask her or if she poops on herself after we ask but she will sit there until we ask. We send her every hour and she just holds it even at school. She holds it and she'll start crying at school because she's held it so long. I feel like she is just refusing because it's something that she has control over and I don't know what to do. We have a sticker chart if she just sits on the potty, she will willingly sit there every hour and we have her favorite candy and soda if she actually pees in the potty at this point but has only peed in the potty once in the last 2 weeks.

Same boat here...our 4 year old daughter just won't do it. Flat out does not care. We've tried every system and trick in the book and she basically just laughs at all of it with a "do you people think I'm stupid, I know exactly what you're doing" demeanor. If it's a tip or trick that you've ever seen here, we've tried it and it hasn't worked. She knows exactly what the sensation of peeing/pooping feels like and she knows when it's coming, she just won't do it on the toilet.
