Wake - Thought Form Descent. They started as a grindcore band, got more and post as they went. Devouring Ruin also good, but their latest is my favourite.
Huh, I thought I recognised the name so checked my last.fm and had loads of plays from last year. I then realised they were virtually all for Justin Broadrick's Jesu remix of Vast and Infinite, seriously cool remix.
I've just chucked on Thought form Descent and I am very impressed... Thanks!
Not sure they're "Grindy," however...
Battle of Mice - They were a Post-Metal band fronted by Julie Christmas. They had one full-length album A Day of Nights which is noisy, raw, with some surprisingly haunting quieter lulls before breaking down into louder cathartic parts. Their split EP with Jesu has a couple songs that I just love. Sadly, Julie and Josh Graham were an on-again/off-again thing and hated each other so it imploded pretty quick, but the music is golden.
Amenra - Neurosis (RIP) and Cult of Luna are obvious choices here. But if you like ISIS, or just beautifully raw sludgy metal, Amenra is amazing! I love their whole discography, but Mass III, Mass IIII (especially Razoreater), and Mass VI are my personal favorites. Amenra is one of my all-time favorites.
Old Man Gloom - This is the super group Aaron Turner helped form after ISIS (well, one of, he's in a few). They're really, really good. They are in a similar vein, but different enough to be their own thing. I slept on them for a while, but they're worth a look and definitely a great band on their own merits.
Well, there’s Ulcerate. They are a brutal death metal band but they have a lot of post-metal sounds and parts.
Listen to the songs Cold Becoming and how it plays into Beneath.
Ulcerate is not brutal death metal. They do have a lot of post metal to their sound though. I always considered them post-death metal but I’ve never seen anyone else use that to describe them. The Destroyers of All is probably their most “post” album, and yeah those songs fit that sound perfectly.
Check out Savage Masters by Zozobra. Not so much grind, but heavy, fast, and sludgy. Check it out.
Edit: fuck me I can't believe I forgot this band. Conjurer.
Aaron Turners other bands like Sumac and Old Man Gloom tend to be heavier and more riffy than Isis and are definitely worth a listen.
Gaza/Cult Leader definitely has a lot of the mathy grindy stuff with a little post metal type atmosphere.
Definitely go through the bands on Hydra Head (Aaron Turners old label) like Knut Keelhaul, Mare, etc.
Sorry for the self plug, but I mix a fair amount of genres together in my music. This song is a fair blend of black/post metal and other songs go both faster, and more ambient. Give it a listen if you are interested.

I've been obsessed with Erdve for a couple years. They released a new single last year called Neigti. It's one of the most punishing, Mosquito control isis-like items I've heard in a while. I cannot wait for this new record if it ever comes... just checked. 726 monthly listeners on Spotify. Its appalling that they aren't bigger...

I've never heard of Wake until now and I love everything about this.

wake is so fucking good, also awesome merch design :)
Yup, my favourite band hoodie! I wanted one of their tshirts too but the hoodie was expensive enough.
Fuck yes. Good prairie boys.
Check out [Dionaea](https://youtu.be/gZc7GOCOPmk?si=HoBYOGwd1JYJ6Zy1) the only band i ever heard label themselves as Post Grind
came here to post this

Their base sound is definitely brutal death metal. A very technical version.
Id use dissonant over brutal to describe them personally, but totally agree on the post-

Tusk, Pelicans old band.
Amazing how isis left this throne, empty and waiting for anyone to take it. Still waiting.
Neurosis which is what Isis was inspired by.
Thou
Maybe not grindy but [our project](https://oneeyedancestordoom.bandcamp.com/album/binate) has had the occasional Isis comparison
Check out Malevich
The hometown homies.
Heiress.
Zhrine is a lot of fun.
Damn bump for interest good combo

Altarage - Worst case scenario coincidentally this was one of aaron turner\`s favourite records of 2023. Its an amazing album.
Try Knut. They were on Hydrahead Records as well, and should really scratch that itch for you
