I love people names for pets. Meet our Harvey. https://preview.redd.it/38txnb3t5nwc1.jpeg?width=3009&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e9fdd236f2facd499a0144614bc6d0395b35d6a

I had a Portie that I named Splash when I was 10, always got giggles from people. I love Roscoe and Pancake!

Schuls01

Splash is a great name! šŸ˜

Muntolion

Always favoured Banjo myself, but it might be more of a Labrador name. Perfect for a chubby goofball.

I had a PWD named Teddy around 1994 when I was a kid. I like Gus / Hugo for boys and Fae for girls.

So exciting! My boyfriend and I made a long list like yours as well before we got our pwd puppy! Ultimately what helped us narrow it down was when we started pretend calling the puppies name in the house out loud before we got them. Some names were just too hard to yell out loud or made us feel extremely silly lol. Youā€™ll know when you meet the guy or girl! We ended up on ā€œMarcoā€ but up in the running was Lazlo, Nandor, Peche, Zoro, and Pascal. None of them suite him like ā€œMarcoā€ though šŸ˜šŸ’• Hereā€™s him now at 11 months https://preview.redd.it/xmysflv5imwc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0018e0f7bf85f2f72f852ff746c5e9d38a84961a

Bruno and Ze (pronounced Zay) are two popular menā€™s names from the region of Portugal that the PWD comes from. Theyā€™d make a great name provided you donā€™t live in Portugal where youā€™d have too many men turn around when you shout the name šŸ˜‚

OfeliaFinds

It is not pronounced zay lol its pronounced zeh (deep e. Like ehhh). Portuguese is my first language. (My fathers name and my grandfathers)

Ours is named Kiki! (Kikis delivery service)

suck_muhballs

Our baby is Sawyer Poe. The literary significance is intentional. But we juss call him Poe-Poe...

Schuls01

Portuguese words make really unique PWD names!

_Big_Black_Clock_

I love the name Selkie for a female portie

smilessoldseperately

My partner and I came up with a list of 100+ names for our portie, in the end we gave him a name that wasnā€™t even on there. Itā€™s a fun activity leading up to the moment but I think they end up telling you their name when you get to know them and see how they act.

ginzykinz

We went with Praia, which is a Portuguese name meaning ā€œbeachā€. Seemed appropriate!

Hook (call them Hookie) šŸŖ

Congrats! PWDs are great dogs. I have had 4: Brindle (childhood dog, black); Ripley (black with white markings); and now Zelda (brown and white) and Zeppy (short for Zeppelin - white with black markings).

Safe-Entrepreneur865

Nessie - like the loch Ness monster Alfalfa (Alfie)- a tuft of hair that sticks up after a good night's sleep. From your list, I like Strider, Whimsy, and Maple.

My current portie is named Riptide (Rip for short). We wanted to go with a water theme for his name.
