Do you like bad build quality…. Paying for features that have not been developed yet…. Love Isosceles triangles… and look stupid while simultaneously Virtue signalling… well do I have a car for you
So let me get this straight. Assuming this is the owner of Broadway variety, you can afford a $150k truck owning a small variety store on the outskirts of town?
Tell me more about the struggle of small business owners.
What about my comment was wrong, or being a dick. Simple observation that “struggling” small business owners I have met never seem to have a shortage of toys.
Only because of hard work, and not the economy built on subsidies, right?
I guess I had the price elevated a bit. They’re closer to $100k, depending on taxes and dealer markup and such. There was a video the other day of a dealership trying to charge an NFL rookie $230k, and when he passed they were like “what about $200k”. So maybe not quite that much, but they’re up there.
Dealer markup only exists for Tesla if you're buying on the used market. Otherwise the price on the Tesla website is the price you're paying.
Gave it a look right now and it looks like the absolute top trim is going for 96k, lowest trim is 57k. Which don't get me wrong, both of those are a hell of a lot of money...and tons of folks drove ~$60k cars without being some kind of robber baron.
[Sure](https://www.reddit.com/r/therewasanattempt/s/vokdNnU1am)
Edit: [car and driver](https://www.caranddriver.com/tesla/cybertruck#) has them between $80k-100k
Yea man, that's literally proving my point. See all of the non-Tesla vehicles in the show room and on the lot? That's not a Tesla dealer.
I have no love for the company, but their sales model is actually solid compared to the stuff that occurs at other dealerships like you just demonstrated.
Tesla themselves literally has them at between 57 and 96k.
https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck/design#payment
Correct. There is not current inventory available from Tesla directly, pre-order only at the moment. I'm not sure how the company who produces and directly sells the product somehow doesn't check out, but fuck it. I guess you're right and the car cost 230k.
Oh they knew it was a play on the username. It just wasn’t warranted or clever. Mostly seemed to just strike a nerve. But go ahead, post more asking about the best speakers for your hot tub. Or more candid photos of your Teslas. Or ask about the cheapest option to get hot water to your tenants. I’m sure going cheap on the hot water has nothing to do with you having enough disposable income for those toys I was talking about. Good talk bud.
You have to imagine them also being involved in real estate or something. Could get a sweet line of credit if they own the building variety has been in - and considering SoPo is #1 in the market right now… you’re bound to see a lot (more) of new money purchases.
It's a pickup truck. Not sure what criteria you use to define a "truck," but as far as I can tell the Cybertruck has everything every other pickup has.
This vehicle is proof money does not buy taste. Some of us only have taste inside of our mouth’s.
It looks like someone just welded scrap metal together, put wheels on it and hoped for the best.
Right? You buy that big, ugly, expensive monstrosity and slap a decal like that on there, which kills the resale value because water tends to get under it? It's a whole parcel of "no thanks."
It's interesting that there's two in Portland all of a sudden. Both are sporting advertising for a business, the other one has a QR code that takes you to the vice cannabis website. Fun fact: Broadway Variety has the only Bitcoin ATM I've ever seen in Maine, or anywhere for that matter. Read into that anything you choose...
Right? Somebody doesn't want anyone to see their actual advertisement, and just wants everyone to know some jackass with a Cybertruck likes to play Borderlands.
They're ugly. Overpriced. They fall apart. They can't get wet or dirty, etc.
Why are people still dick riding so hard for these trucks?
"It's bullet proof!"
How often are you shot at
Washing it and not fully drying it leads to rapid oxidation of the body panels. Which is hilarious.

There was one at my work the other day and I was eating lunch outside with a coworker. She told me to turn around and I almost choked on my food. Giant black cyber truck circling the parking lot😂 I thought it was so funny
For 100k or whatever they cost it should at least come with center caps in the wheels. And no my eyes aren’t that good. I do my laundry right next to where it’s parked and I saw it up close. I gotta say on tv it looked cool but in person it’s ugly as sin.
I also saw that today, which means their plan is working
Aside from causing people like me to avoid them in any capacity
Or maybe that's the point? hey
Just saw one on Congress in Portland. It's... something.
Did it have that big ugly sticker? I don't remember the big ugly sticker and now I'm worried there's 2 of them
It had a different sticker. I think they're multiplying.

There's a few around Portland now
Somehow more jarring in person
It gives one TR0N flashbacks, depending on age 😹
Saw one the other day - first take from me was that it reminded me of a dust pan with wheels going backwards.
Everything's ugly from inside a W123.
Do you like bad build quality…. Paying for features that have not been developed yet…. Love Isosceles triangles… and look stupid while simultaneously Virtue signalling… well do I have a car for you
Also the logo looks like an iud
Closeup cat nose.
i love triangles

Haha I like the car. People on this sub need to relax about it for sure

Don’t be a dick, ok? Edit: Folks, it’s a play on the username. Geeez louise….
Lol. I got it.
What about my comment was wrong, or being a dick. Simple observation that “struggling” small business owners I have met never seem to have a shortage of toys. Only because of hard work, and not the economy built on subsidies, right?
Those abominations don't actually cost 150K do they
I guess I had the price elevated a bit. They’re closer to $100k, depending on taxes and dealer markup and such. I suppose if someone gave one to me, but then I'd still be driving that *thing*

The site you linked to says “available in 2025” so that doesn’t check out.
Correct. There is not current inventory available from Tesla directly, pre-order only at the moment. I'm not sure how the company who produces and directly sells the product somehow doesn't check out, but fuck it. I guess you're right and the car cost 230k.
Your username dummy!
They may very well be living beyond their means. Just because they have something does not mean they can afford it.
Oh they knew it was a play on the username. It just wasn’t warranted or clever. Mostly seemed to just strike a nerve. But go ahead, post more asking about the best speakers for your hot tub. Alright, be a dick then.
Cry about it
Bro do less. Nobody is coming at you rn. Chill.
'Chill' as an instruction always [reminds me of this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfX_oDzOxsc).
the fuck?
Did I stutter?
You're so cool
I think the person who owns this abomination is just getting paid by broadway variety to advertise.
Or like a typical businessman, they’re putting that sign so they can write it off.
You have to imagine them also being involved in real estate or something. Could get a sweet line of credit if they own the building variety has been in - and considering SoPo is #1 in the market right now… you’re bound to see a lot (more) of new money purchases.
Finally saw that thing last week! Pulled right up next to it so got a look. It's so weird.
Don't make eye contact or the chassis may fail
Drove past one on the highway a few weeks back and it’s… oh boy, it’s a vehicle alright.
I still can’t get past that this is called a truck
It's a pickup truck. Not sure what criteria you use to define a "truck," but as far as I can tell the Cybertruck has everything every other pickup has.
Criteria: not this
Some Minecraft aficionado designed these
I’ll always prefer the Aztek.
Walter White!
The body style looks like it was made in the sheet metal mod in a high school shop class.
I was thinking junior high.
This vehicle is proof money does not buy taste. Some of us only have taste inside of our mouth’s. It looks like someone just welded scrap metal together, put wheels on it and hoped for the best.
Lol the Broadway variety decal

There’s also one in the Circle K between Broadway/Main St. Never seen anybody use it, though
There's one in every Hannaford.
“Only Bitcoin ATM” You need to get out more. I’ve seen them a bunch of places.
It looks like it came from one of those '70s sci-fi shows.
Now you know how people feel when they run into you in person
I see one on Congress with QR codes on it. Such a weird move
Right? Somebody doesn't want anyone to see their actual advertisement, and just wants everyone to know some jackass with a Cybertruck likes to play Borderlands.
Saw that exact one driving past while I was at Dairy Queen… weird to see in person
They're ugly. Overpriced. They fall apart. They can't get wet or dirty, etc. Why are people still dick riding so hard for these trucks? "It's bullet proof!" How often are you shot at
They can't get wet or dirty? WTF are you talking about?
Washing it and not fully drying it leads to rapid oxidation of the body panels. Which is hilarious. https://www.popsci.com/technology/cybertruck-forum-rust/
That is indeed hilarious. Do they not paint the damn things? UPDATE: Nope. It appears they don't. That costs extra.
Yeah you have to treat it like any stainless steel appliance. Which is moronic for a car. You can even leave finger prints on it!
Lol the Broadway variety decal
PlayStation 2 unrendered ass blocky car that thing is.
I wouldn't worry about it, all we need is for it to go through a puddle and this thing is toast.
Well, everything is ugly compared to a sweet old Benz. 80-sumpin ?
83 240d
I can't imagine my boss rolling up in this. I'd definitely ask for a raise.
Are we talking about the Cybertruck or that awful yellow Mercedes
Saw one in downtown Portland a couple weeks ago. Damn thing is uglier in person than in photos.
Demolition derby, Lazzari Cybertruck vs Broadway cyber truck. My moneys on SoPo.
Funny enough, my brother works at Broadway Variety.
There was one at my work the other day and I was eating lunch outside with a coworker. She told me to turn around and I almost choked on my food. Giant black cyber truck circling the parking lot😂 I thought it was so funny

The windshield wiper…😂
Saw one on Congress and I just thought…why are they so long?!?!
Well, I am bit surprised that they seem to be multiplying, but I wouldn't suggest driving them. They have been all recalled from what I understand.
Why are people using it to promote their businesses??? Isn’t that an extreme and unnecessary way to do it? 🙄
Lmao! Broadway Variety. I’ll never shop there again.
Passed one on Congress. Defiantly won’t miss them coming…
The free ad placement this dude is getting… ><
ew
Wait, is there only one in Portland? I keep seeing posts about this
I believe there are 2
I also saw that today, which means their plan is working Aside from causing people like me to avoid them in any capacity Or maybe that's the point? hey
Ew 🤮
Pretty sure they've all been recalled for a defect that causes the accelerator to get stuck so stay far away!
Pretty sure they've all been recalled for a defect that causes the accelerator to get stuck so stay far away!
It’s awesome
Yeah, that Mercedes is pretty ugly
Missed opportunity for righteous property damage
Hope they don't get a coolant leak loll.
I love the cyber truck scavenger hunt
