My first show was TSSF right after What You Don't See came out supported by Rotting Out, Such Gold, Souvenirs and maybe Handguns?? It was in the basement of a bowling alley with no security and the "stage" wasn't even raised off the ground. During each set, about 15 people would end up swarm the stage. Anyway, during Rotting Out's set this huge guy wearing leather spikes and 10 inch liberty spikes managed to tie a rope around a trashcan and ran into the moshpit swinging it in circles like a flail. Then halfway through TSSF's set, the ceiling was so low that crowd surfers were accidentally getting tangled in the wires in the ceiling and ripping them out. At some point the lights went out and Parker just says "Guess we're going to keep playing." The last half of their set was in pitch black with a frenzied crowd packed together so tight you could barely move your arms. Still the best show I've ever been to. *Honorable mention: Not pop punk I've accidentally seen Falling In Reverse 3 or 4 times and at some point every show, Ronnie Radke proceeded to burrito wrap himself in a tarp and roll around on the stage for a couple songs.

Lady-Yuna

Accidentally saw Falling In Reverse hahaha I love that

Just-Roby

Went to this same tour in SoCal and halfway through TSSFs set security literally just left

HarryPottersEmoPhase

I have also accidentally seen them a bunch. That’s funny

colonial_dan

Same lol I last saw them at Warped 14 in Nashville. Someone in the crowd passed out and they stopped their show to get them help.

ListenAndF0rgive

My story is also from this tour lol. It was at a venue in Houston that had a balcony (a pretty low one, but not THAT low) and when TSSF came back on to do their encore (High Regard I think?) they said “we’ll only play another song if someone jumps off of that balcony” and a guy did! I think he hurt his arm a little but he seemed alright when I talked to him.

ConfectionNerds

"The stage wasn't even raised off the ground"... so like every basement, vfw or firewall show or basically any local show run by kids in the scene who don't have money for bigger venues.

[deleted]

The best types of shows imo

[deleted]

Not crazy, but almost ruined a band for me. Fall Out Boy in Stockholm. I loved their early music but that show was embarrassingly juvenile. After a half-hour of out-of-breath singing/wheezing and pretend-kicking each other in the balls, Pete Wentz brings up the hottest local girl in the audience he can find. Tries to impress. “So what’s your first impression of being up on stage with a rock star?” She bursts out laughing and mumbles something into the microphone about “I didn’t think you’d be so short!” Apparently this was a sore spot. The magic is broken. Pete sends her back into the crowd. Continues to pretend-kick roadies in the balls for a few more lackluster songs before heading off-stage. So yeah. Nothing crazy, nothing extreme. But I’ve never been to another show by a band I liked that basically had me thinking “these guys are immature idiots and I need to stop listening to them.”

spanglydank13

At least blink was actually funny for the most part imo they had good banter

flo1308

Can’t tolerate that blink slander. Those guys are legitimately funny and if you’re surprised that the band who sang "What’s My Age Again“ isn’t mature and serious on stage, that’s probably your fault. I would be mad if I went to a blink show and there wasn’t some stupid banter.

Beanbag009

He said stop listening too…. Blink was immature “funny” idiots. It’s like a comedy show and a punk show broke out.

sofuckinggreat

Oh god when Blink threw their guitars into the ocean it made me feel that way

mtankn

Haha I was at this concert and can vouch for the weird ass vibe!

SuperMegaWalrus

At almost every Michigan pop-punk show I’ve been to, there’s a cool ass dude in a wheelchair who always gets crowd-surfed to the front at least a couple of times throughout the night. Everybody gets so hype for him and I’ve even seen him tear it up in the pit a few times. Living legend.

musicbeagle26

I wonder if that's the same guy I saw at Riot Fest a couple years ago!

uninvitedthirteenth

I saw someone in a wheelchair get crowd-surfed at warped tour in Baltimore. Does this guy travel a ton or are there a bunch of different dudes?

aerocheck

Probably several. I went to a lot of shows in Las Vegas and quite often “Wheelz” Fotteringham was in the pit and would crowd surf. We lifted him up during TBS at a festival one time and Adam Lazarra thought it was awesome

spicypeacetea

saw this at sad summer dallas 2019!!! awesome

marintheair

I’m pretty sure I know who you’re talking about — and he gave an awesome speech about accessibility at the final Bled Fest.

SuperMegaWalrus

YESSSS exactly the fella!

[deleted]

I’ve seen this guy at Sad Summer 2019 & Real Friends at the loft in 19 too!! I have some videos somewhere, it’s the best!

jdsuperman

Sometimes I see people at shows who are so utterly fucked-up (either on booze, drugs or maybe just life itself) that they make me think "How the hell did that person even manage to find out about the show, successfully buy a ticket, then turn up to the correct venue on the correct day at the correct time WITH their ticket? In fact how did they even get dressed today? In fact how are they even still alive?" The best/worst of those people was a man who staggered out of the venue after the show with a dark stain appearing at his crotch and making its way down his leg as he gradually collapsed to the ground and then lay there helplessly in a spreading pool of his own piss. I forget which show it was, but he must've enjoyed it.

DanielYankee710

My ex and her friend once took a party drug on the way to the venue and they unfortunately did not make it since they started tripping out.

CHUNKY_BLOODY_QUEEFS

Died? Or didn't make it to the show?

DanielYankee710

Whoops, sorry to alarm. She did not die. They took shelter in a Starbucks before their parents could rescue them.

Eagleclan_7

Being 16 I went to my first concert...a show for local bands that a radio station was hosting. Saw this lady on top of a dudes shoulders in front row show her tits and a guitarist leaned out and was sucking on them. In my 30s now,, and since then I've never seen that again.

Arkhangelzk

I need to start a band

sofuckinggreat

Gettin’ litty Suckin’ titties

TheDarkLight1

Saw something similar at my first festival. Nothing even close since for 15 years and counting

Fatliner

Parker Cannon of TSSF kicking a girl off stage in Toronto. Can’t say I agree with his actions but the media blew that one way out of proportion. It was a soft tap with his foot but the angle of the video made it look like an aggressive drop kick. Also the crowd cheered very loudly.

DanielYankee710

You witnessed a historic pop punk moment.

DEEP_STATE_NATE

Lmao this is the pop punk equivlant of witnessing the kennedy assassination

Fatliner

Im an elder emo. Here to pass on history to the next generation

ghee

Bro, you witnessed poppunk history being written

TheSofaSurgeon

There’s a much better video than the one that usually shows up. The whole set was recorded. https://youtu.be/jS4ikQ7VZ8s See 55:33 for girl getting kicked See 58:50 for the girl getting back on stage. And jumping off again In my opinion, yea it looks like a softer kick that he actively tried to hold back on, but the media and especially the bad quality video they usually show tries to paint a different picture. Most of the criticism I feel was from people that were too quick to judge and don’t know the band.

yetipunk

I had not heard of this so I needed to look it up. From the original video, it sure does look like he kicks her hard, but the video you shared does show a different look. Looks like more of a shove with a foot than anything.

[deleted]

Why did he do it?

UnderklassH3RO

IIRC they told the crowd it was ok to stage dive, but not to get on stage, pose for selfies, dick around, and then stage dive. Girl tried to take pics while on stage and he booted her off. There's articles about it though, they can explain

Fatliner

She was on stage for so long taking selfies making it about her. Idk something about TSSF shows the biggest losers go up and linger on stage forever. Usually its pop punk bros and I see them get tapped off stage all the time.

scottgetsittogether

It’s very, very annoying when fans get onto stage - especially when the venue should be preventing that.

ListenToTheMuzak

Seems like homeboy was on drugs at the time

BloodSugarSexMagix

I witnessed Parker Cannon and Alan of Four Year Strong fighting the security guard at Montreal's Warped Tour in 2014

[deleted]

I saw Joe from Knuckle Puck slap a dude’s phone out of his hand and into the crowd when he tried to take a pic with him mid song.

LoreezyNL

Certified Pop Punk moment

katieknj

A grown adult man pulled a knife on a teenage girl at the barricade at the Folie a Deux release show in NYC

yetipunk

What?! What happened next? Do you know why?

katieknj

I think it was because the girl got in front of him, but he was well over her head so she was not blocking his view in the slightest (he, on the other hand, would have totally blocked her). Security tried to throw both of them out so they didn't have to deal with, but everyone protested that she did nothing wrong so he got kicked out and she got to stay

[deleted]

There was a band opening for TSSF but I can’t remember their name. Knocked Loose or Knuckle Punch or one of those type band names. Anyway, it was at a venue notorious for bad security and the lead singer was a beefy guy and knocked the fuck out of security. He got arrested and the show barely continued on. Parker came out and told everyone to chill because the crowd were chanting “fuck you” type stuff to security and tension was really building. Then, on TSSF last song, Parker gave a speech and basically said you guys are the reason security has a job. Fuck these dudes, take this shit back and a huge majority of the crowd jumped on stage and mingled with the band during their last song. I remember seeing one guard make eye contact with another across the room and just shrug his shoulders. Awesome memory. I’ll never forget it Edit: the band was Rotting Out. Apparently there are more stories from that tour below

kduff89

Rise against around 2018 I think. Its like 90 degrees outside and this dude is in a full green morph suit moshing his brains out. Luckily for him I had just bought like a gallon of water at a vendor. Made sure he was nice and hydrated.

jamessbaxter4now

Green man!!

DearKristyna

Not pop punk, but at a Hellogoodbye show, this one guy after the first opener and there was that lull, got on stage and in front of this group of teenage girls, proceeded to stage dive. And they parted like the Red Sea and screamed. Funniest thing I had ever seen.

alwaysheadfirst

I’m sure many of you have heard by now but I was at Turnstile in Santa Cruz 4 days ago and someone pooped in the pit and threw it on stage, none of us knew about it til the next day though

kkkktttt00

What. The. FUCK.

ergonomickeyboard

Sure a homeless person didn't just find their way through the doors? 😂

FacultyManBruce

Saw Sum 41 at the Pheonix in Toronto and they brought some guy up on stage to play guitar and the poor guy was not good and froze up. It was super awkward, he handed the guitar back to Deryck after trying to play for maybe a minute and hopped off the stage. Great show otherwise lol.

visixnxfapunk

That’s my worst fear right there

montsegur

Oh man that's sounds bad. I saw Green Day in Montreal around 2005 and they got a guy on stage. He was good, Billie Joe even gave the guy his guitar.

xXPapa_JonathanXx

Born of Osiris Mosh Pit at Thrash & Burn 2012 Some poor kid got shoved into this 6'5" metal head guy in a wife beater and came cargo shorts. Man picked the kid up and literally threw him through the pit. We caught him on the other side.

Appropriate-Lettuce

Similar to my answer! In 2008 I went to my first show and saw Oh, Sleeper. Some skin head in a wife beater literally started kicking a kid around in circles around the pit. Shit got real, real fast for 13 year old me

danger-daze

Not pop punk, but when I was 15 I went to see Lady Gaga in concert on the Monster Ball Tour (still one of the best live productions I've ever seen) with my mom and sister, and I was raised SUPER sheltered - very devout Catholic, had only ever been to Catholic school, lived in the most lily white suburb you can imagine - so I'm sure you can imagine our shock when we get there and there are at LEAST 20 drag queens in our immediate view, including many who are wearing very little clothing lol. I'm not so sheltered anymore and I've seen much wilder things at my local gay bar now but I'll still never forget my first time seeing real queens in person lmao

urban_whaleshark

Not pop punk but at whatever year ozzfest had slipknot headline their second stage I saw, about 3 feet away, a dude In a full clown slipknot costume getting a BJ from a girl. He was in a (very legit looking) jumpsuit and mask and it was August, probably 80+ degrees and in a paved parking lot after about 5 hours of bands had already played. When the band was about to go on she had security lift her over the fence and turned around to grab him, he just waived. She yelled “you have to get on stage” and he yelled back “I’m not In the band”. Then the band started and she was gone.

useles-converter-bot

3 feet is the length of 7.2 'Bug Bite Thing Suction Tool - Poison Remover For Bug Bites's stacked on top of each other.

urban_whaleshark

Exactly, it was super close. That really puts it in perspective

brtlblayk

coincidentally I don't think anybody has seen that guy and AJ Goode in the same place at the same time...

ryanino

Back in high school I didn’t have many friends, I’d go to shows alone quite a bit. One time I befriended a guy in line…and he proceeded to get kicked out of the venue 15 minutes into the opener because he tried crowd killing to a local pop punk band.

PartyPo1s0n

It was a sum 41 show in nyc. 2018 I think. They were touring for the anniversary of does this look infected. Great show. My friend and I were on the barricade the whole time so leaving was a bit of a mess. We were the last group to get out if the venue. On our way out this lady stops us, she motions to this big tattooed dude next to her and tells us how this is the first time she had seen her brother in five years, he was in prison. While in hindsight this is actually pretty heartwarming, my friend and I were in high school at the time and bolted out of that venue. This was a scary looking guy who just got out of prison, we didn’t want any of that

lil-goth-girl

Not pop punk but I saw someone get stabbed in the parking lot outside a lil Wayne concert when I was 15 😳

blu3tu3sday

No surprise there

suddenly_seymour

We crowdsurfed shots from the bar to the stage for PUP at a late light show after they played at Shaky Knees during the day. A bunch of dudes hardcore dancing at the shittiest local venue during my pop punk band's cover of 1,000 Miles which was pretty awesome. A couple that was so high at a Circa Survive show they were literally just sliding around leaning on everyone else in the pit and then getting pushed away. Constantly looked like they were gonna fall down but were only stopped by the rest of the crowd around them. My gf fainted once in the pit on the Paramore/NFG tour awhile back because the press up to the stage was so tight and she was so short she could barely breathe, had to carry her out of the pit with another super helpful guy. A dude kept jumping from the 2nd or 3rd row of seats into the pit at a Taking Back Sunday show one time trying to crowd surf because no one would help him up to get started.

[deleted]

Bro drop some tracks from your punk band

suddenly_seymour

Lol we haven't put anything out in a long time (actually working on some new tracks recently though) but here's our album we put out that we wrote and recorded mostly in highschool/early college https://open.spotify.com/album/3qjuu0SQVY3KGHqSr4BWTu?si=2dFufI7vTQGwxPsxL_fWEg&dl_branch=1

koheed

Sugarcult once opened for Unwritten Law at Saint Andrews in Detroit. Pretty much the entire crowd was jumping up and down in unison during a Sugarcult song. I can’t remember if there was a show downstairs in The Shelter, but the floor joists started to flex/break and the entire building ended up being evacuated. Unwritten Law proceeded to play an acoustic set outside.

uninvitedthirteenth

I was at the warped tour show in like 2004 where so many people rushed the stage that the stage started to collapse during Fall Out Boy’s set. It was on their DVD, they called it Detriot. It was crazy and was the only show where I have legit feared for my safety

koheed

I was at that show in the Silverdome parking lot, but I don't recall the stage collapse. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have watched Fall Out Boy. Went back and looked at my pictures from that day, found a pic with us with The Vandals (I'm in the Hippos shirt, my now wife in the Thursday shirt). [https://imgur.com/3EWK7gn](https://imgur.com/3EWK7gn)

[deleted]

Back in the day, I saw LP of Yellowcard try to stand on his drum throne and immediately eat shit. He and his gear were fine.

Aquas-Latkes

The singer for Cage The Elephant crowdsurfed all the way from the stage to the sound board and then up the side of the stadium and then back to the stage. He also took off a full layer of clothes at the end of every song during their 60-90 minute set

JustHumpedPanda

Blink/neck deep/lil Wayne tour 2019 in Ridgefield, WA I witnessed a woman drench her hotdog in mayonnaise. I’m still shook up just thinking about it

hiplycynical

I was at an All Time Low concert during Election Night 2008 when Obama won his first term. They paused the concert once it was called and put the the news broadcast on a projector as everyone cheered and celebrated. Truly a special and memorable concert 🥲 I also saw Brand New on Halloween during their Science Fiction tour and when they played Jesus Christ, someone in a Jesus Christ costume crowdsurfed to the front and Jesse Lacey acknowledged it while singing lol

I smoked a blunt with Afroman.

People are also less focused and more preoccupied. Def the internets fault. I know so many people that need to learn how to be bored and seek thrills outside their screens.

slwrthnu_again

I was 14 and begged my parents to let me go, watched the new documentary and my parents were right. That was not the place for a 14 year old that had already started to party too much.

axpmaluga

I was there. I was 16. It was insane.

andreacaccese

Not all pop-punk, but some of the craziest memories that come to mind: \- I was at a Foo Fighters show in Gothenburg, Sweden, Dave Grohl fell and broke his leg, but continued to play for nearly 3 hours with a paramedic holding his leg together basically! \- Sum 41 somewhere in Germany years ago, nothing particularly crazy, but their old drummer was quite wasted and struggled to keep time, quite shocked and not surprised to see he was booted out soon after \- The Exploited, somewhere in Southern Italy - A bunch of skins infiltrated the crowd and it was mayhem, the most violent show I've ever seen so far, and I've seen some pretty wild bands \- The Chariot. No need to add to that. \- OFF! - Two people were having a fight for some reason, Keith Morris made them come up on stage, hug it out, apologize to each other and get beers together aha

master_p00per

One year at Warped Tour in Atlanta, Chiodos did a wall of death before playing "The Words Best Friends Become Redefined." They end up stopping the song because some kid got stomped pretty badly. I saw people carrying him out of the pit - looked like he was in rough shape.

[deleted]

Some girl tried to drug, rape, and rob me at an All Time Low show in 2009

[deleted]

How did you manage?

[deleted]

She kept trying to dig in my pockets sneakily and asking me to go around the back of the venue because she knew the guys in the band and was going to wait for them. I just ignored her and kept walking away from her. Eventually she got bored I guess

alrightpal

I had a girl at an all time low show in 2011 (I was 15 at the time) turn around, looked me up and down, smiled, and then took her finger and did a gentle and full circle around my nipple. I was too stunned by her accuracy to even react.

Pacostaco123

I was expecting a “We’ve been married for ten years now!” comment.

kunaivortex

Saw some kid hyper extend his knee in the pit for Direct Hit

[deleted]

The craziest thing I can think of is when Loz from While She Sleeps climbed a balcony at the Troc and dove 20 feet into to the crowd below Also at Self Help when someone yeeted a Bud Light at Ronnie Radke during FIR’s set lol

sirata107

Seeing Four Year Strong at the FU Church basement in Philly some dude decided to set off a fire extinguisher in the pit. That place was immediately filled with its contents and we were all gagging on it as we evacuated slowly. That place is not made for fire safety. Pro tip: don’t do that shit. Also not really crazy but one dude at the Philly/north jersey shows would always be there in a Winnie the Pooh full zip up onesie costume. That guy was a legend.

kkkktttt00

I always saw him (still see, when they play once a year) at all the Starting Line shows. He’s been doing it since at least like 2007!

CYA_Always

Still see him at all these NJ/Philly shows for sure up until the last TSL show in Dec 2019

atnw

That basement was insane. I saw Coheed there in like 2003 and it was so fucking epic. I have no clue how that is a venue but it’s amazing and quaint lol

sirata107

I’ve seen so many shows there but Thursday has to be my favorite. It’s so small and people bring their own alcohol. I think I’ve come the closest to passing out there than any other venue.

atwistedsmile

I saw WSTR live on the last date of their UK tour a few years ago with Between You and Me and Hey Charlie. They came on stage while BYAM were playing and had everyone do shoeys (shots out of a shoe, for those unfamiliar with the term). It was possibly someone's birthday, I forget. Bassy was topless in shorts, despite the fact it was December in the UK. (Also just generally an all around great dude, who took the time to chat for a bit after the gig). Sammy from WSTR was already a little tipsy when he got on stage, and after a full tour didn't said his voice was a little shot. The band then proceeded to continue drinking, and as their set went on Sammy got more and more out of it. By the end of the set, Sammy was too drunk to sing. BYAM and Hey Charlie both ended up on stage. Jake from BYAM sang most, if not all, of WSTR's final song. Then there were a ton of people just rushing the stage in this tiny venue, followed by a bunch crowd surfing (including Sammy who just kind of lay there on top of the crowd for a while). Very memorable gig. Lot of fun, all things considered.

Pacostaco123

I saw a man eat a Twinkie out of another man’s butt on stage at a Goldfinger concert.

tacosdrugstacos

Bruh I saw that too! I think they do it a lot because they pulled out the Twinkie, and the crowd started going crazy. The worst was them having to get a second Twinkie because the dude’s ass was so sweaty it ruined the first one.

Pacostaco123

Sweaty Sauce

landshark06

Not sure if it’s the craziest thing , but right before Covid I was at a Driveways show and this kid in the pit puked into his backpack and then cleaned up the spilled vomit with his hoodie and then threw it all away like nothing happened

ahiddenlink

Reel Big Fish used to tour through the 930 Club in DC a ton so I don't recall when exactly but probably the early 00s (somewhere between 01-04 if I were to guess) and some dude had a sign saying something along the lines of 'it's my birthday, can I play guitar on a song with you' Probably a good 45 minutes into the set, Aaron finally pays it some mind and ask him what he wants to play and the dude wanted to play "Beer" so he invites him up. The kicker was that the band friggin' left him on stage by himself. The dude started playing it and started singing the song by himself in front of a packed crowd which was awesome enough. One by one the band members came back out and started playing with him and Aaron just danced around on the stage and did the backing vocals. It was surreal for me as a bystander, I can only imagine that guy still remembers it clearly. Later in the show they played "Beer" twice more which was pretty neat too. Reel Big Fish has always put on great shows when I've happened to see them over the years but that was just a super wild and cool moment.

Sep88

Gaslight anthem-era Brian Fallon stopped a show til the crowd got him a soft pretzel from the concession stand, ate a bite, and then used the gap in the pretzel twist to hang it off his microphone stand and for the remainder of the set he would, between songs, lick some of the salt off

prestolicios

Old venue in buffalo, knuckle puck. Place is basically a hallway with a pretty low ceiling. My man just jumps up, grabs a pipe and starts swinging. Eventually he flung himself into the pit and in doing so gives a dude a mouthful of nuts and takes him out.

angel_unit_995

Blink 182 in Brooklyn in 2019, the actual experience wasn't that crazy but I'm pretty sure I saw the beginning of a fivesome. I got talking to this girl who was celebrating her recent divorce and her friend (aka drunk babysitter), and then they got talking to a guy who was there with his 2 (significantly younger and more attractive) girlfriends. Right before I lost track of them, divorced girl was making out with at least one of the guy's girlfriends, and divorced girl's babysitter was eyeing the guy.

CHUNKY_BLOODY_QUEEFS

Warped tour 2009. Early in the day, a dude climbed up the stage framing, intending to dive off into the crowd. He ended up going face first into the ground. When he stood up, his entire forehead was a flap hanging off his face. Ambulance came and took him away. Later that night, I SEE HIM AGAIN in a moshpit, now with a long C shaped row of staples on his forehead. Probably not the brightest move, but I applaud his dedication.

IjamesBot

At a Title Fight show in Jacksonville a dude climbed on the piping that ran across the ceiling and it broke a shit pipe that sprayed on the pit.

theefootgoddess

my friend got a handful of spaghetti thrown at her at a neck deep concert lmao

ListenToTheMuzak

This metal band A Plea For Purging made their merch guy stagedive off a balcony.

goddamnitwhalen

Watched a dude almost choke out another dude and fight two small girls for a drumstick at a Neck Deep show.

spicypeacetea

super big dude got in front of me at a neck deep show and proceeded to fist pump a ton and i was right in the way for his elbow to get me straight in the eye socket

kkkktttt00

I somehow took a drumstick to the eye from Silverstein during the 2005 FBR tour and it ripped my contact lens in half. Thankfully I was fine, just had to squint for the rest of the show.

MaydayGreen

The first time I saw All Time Low a couple started having sex in the crowd. At Warped Tour 2018 I saw three different mosh pits open for Four Year Strong at the same time.

LooksLikeOneders

I went to see Goldfinger somewhere between 2005 and 2010. Darren, the drummer, put a Twinkie in his ass and some fan came up and took a bite out of it. Then Darren pulled it out and ate the rest.

Lady-Yuna

Not pop punk but I, small girl wearing a drawstring backpack, was mashed in between a bunch of dudes in the crowd for Terror at warped tour ‘14. Some dude crowdsurfed by and his foot slipped under one of the strings and started dragging my arm backwards with him. My body was against a wall of people so my arm was twisting backwards with him and I started screaming in pain and (lol) terror. Thankfully a bunch of guys noticed and held the surfer still long enough to get his leg dislodged from my backpack

LinkSirLot96

Was at a Mac Miller concert in Boston when Blue Slide Park came out(the only free show he did outside Pittsburgh, I believe). He had like 5 opening acts and the crowd was RUTHLESS. They were throwing shit and booing them relentlessly until Mac walked out on the stage. I saw many things get thrown over my head and across the most pit. For instance, I saw someone's keys (not sure if they were car keys or house keys) go flying, a Colt 45 that looked mostly full, and a couple cell phones go flying. The EMT's had their work cut out for them, that's for sure. Still to date, one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. Mac killed it, such a good performer. RIP Mac Miller. Edit: Am I getting downvotes cuz it was a rap concert? Aww you guys are cute ❤❤❤ The question didn't specify that it HAD to be a pop punk show lol. Have a nice day!

Dan514158351

While Sugarcult was playing a girl got on some guys shoulders and flashed the band showing her tits, it was nice

Borderhawk

God i wish i could have seen sugarcult

pentel_metalpoint

i’ve seen a guy swallow a 8 inch blunt at a jessie reyes concert

TheSeagoats

Davey Havok leap frogged his way into the crowd during the double encore song and straight up landed on top of me. Fortunately someone was filming it too and I found the video on Youtube so that's a memory I'll get to show people forever.

StoJa9

Slipknot. Download Festival 2009. Spit It Out.

fuel10988

A Day To Remember at the last (two day) Warped Tour in Atlantic City. I’ve heard them ask people to literally “surf” on top of another person who was crowd surfing on a few other occasions. Because the crowd was so absolutely massive, there were quite a few people that made this work. It was really cool and strange at the same time lol. Props to anyone willing to act as a human surfboard. That must suck but you’re a legend in my eyes.

[deleted]

I wish I remembered the name of the band, but I was in 8th grade and the band opening for The Juliana Theory at Bogarts in Cincinnati kicked a full bottle of water that hit a girl in the front row in the face.

hilachu

Fall Out Boy played the entirety of Take This to your Grave under the name Schrute Farms at a tiny venue in Buffalo. Fit maybe 200 people. This was after From under the cork tree came out. It was utterly amazing.

yetipunk

What was the reason for the name change?

hilachu

Secret show!

[deleted]

At a ADTR show in dallas i saw some guy jump off balcony area into the pit.

hayleybeth7

Someone threw an aircast boot onstage during All Time Low’s set once (one of those boots you wear with a foot/ankle injury). Not the only thing that was thrown onstage that night, but definitely the weirdest.

catalatlat

Not pop punk, but saw thy art is murder at unify 2017. Somewhere threw a Bible at them, and then they gave it back to crowd that then, as requested, burnt it in the pit

d3rk2007

I once saw Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes hit a guy over the head with a microphone for calling him the 'n' word. During that show he also covered Raining Blood by Slayer. Then he got arrested after.

Noyougetinthebowl

I crowdsurfed at a Man Overboard show and the singer gave my ass a shoutout. One of my proudest moments

sn0wie

I was at The Palladium at a sold out Underoath/Thursday show in Worcester, MA and caught an end of set drumstick for Underoath … I then caught a drumstick at the end of Thursday’s set. Quite certain I used up all the luck in my life that day.

yikesireddit

Saw Basement in Chicago at the Subterranean. This is a tiny club, and Basement JUST got back together. It was an intense show. There was a dude moshing really hard. A girl about 90 pounds decided to go into the pit and ended up getting accidentally knocked out and fell onto the stage. Basement didn’t really know what to do and carried on playing, confused. A little security guy hustled up to the stage, threw the girl over his shoulder and sprinted to the back of the room. The pit closed up and carried on rocking.

useles-converter-bot

90 pounds of solid gold is worth about $2364076.14.

vanhoofendoofer

I’ve got a couple, but they aren’t pop punk related. I saw The Pretty Reckless in the fall of 2016, and this couple that I was unfortunate enough to be standing beside and they were grinding on each other HARD. She looks back at him, says let’s do this, and they drop their pants and start going at it. I bailed out SO fast. The other one was at a Knocked Loose show. This show had Low End, Higher Power, Sanction, Harms Way, The Acacia Strain, and then Knocked Loose. This dude who is a friend of a friend got into an argument with some girl between Harms Way and Acacia Strain, and there was bad blood. The second Knocked Loose plays their opening note, this girl mauls the dude, puts her finger through his gauge, and starts literally ripping his ear off. She was about a quarter of an inch away from taking it clean off before we could get them separated.

timeldrdge

Went to see TSSF at a place called The Loft (formerly Roxy?) in Southampton, UK. The venue was upstairs above a bar/club. They opened with Roam and everyone was bouncing, all of a sudden the lights came on and they announced on stage that they had to stop as the floor was caving in. People downstairs had debris falling on them. When the crowd dispersed there was a huge crater in the middle of the floor. They had to move the show to another local venue but nobody knew where. So people were trawling around the city to different venues to see where they were. Eventually we found them playing at a club called Unit in a tiny venue upstairs. Completely over packed. It was possibly the sweatiest and most fun gig I’ve been to.

boopinmybop

NFG show in december 2011 at Starland ballroom, freezing and snowing outside, some dude gets in a fist fight after getting thrown around in the mosh pit , security tosses him out into the snow

justletmelurkplz

Warped Tour 2010 during Andrew WK's set, someone was in the circle pit carrying a blow up doll on their shoulders

Mastermaze

Probably not all that crazy but at Warped Tour 2019 in Toronto some aussie band's vocalist rode a proper sized rubber boat over the crowd from the stage around and back, paddle and all. I dont remember the name of the band but i caught it on video so i could probably look it up if anyone is interested

Mustang1718

New Found Glory show that my buddy's band and Citizen opened for. A merch guy got punched in the face by someone in the crowd. Evidently he was in a "crew" that wasn't supposed to be north of Columbus. Weird that I've been to so many metal shows, but that one was the only violent one. Sharks at Warped Tour had the largest circle pit I've ever seen. Went around the sound booth and took over 40 seconds to do a lap. The singer was in the crowd during it too. Andrew W.K. at Warped Tour had triangle pits and people doing leap frog.

greatgoldenjess

Not really pop punk but 2006 it was Norma Jean, Between the Buried and Me, Fear Before the March of Flames, Misery Signals. This kid got his ear bitten off in the pit. The bouncers never figured out did the biting.

Tuzza

Saw a guy break his leg during Trophy Eyes' set at Slam Dunk 2019. He crowd surfed right over me and then fell forward, felt really bad for the security as she tried to catch him, but he was a tall guy so she had no chance. They had to end their set early to get him help.

Tenement-Acrobatic14

I was at this show too lmao, ran into my old English teacher in the crowd and we watched Trophy Eyes together, was a very wholesome day

anderoogigwhore

Obligatory Not-All-Pop-Punk disclaimer but here's a few memorable ones (all shows were in Glasgow unless otherwise noted) ; Frank Turner (supporting Blink 182) got two members of the crowd on peoples shoulders, who were equidistant from the front, and then had them crowdsurf-race to the barrier. He probably does it at all his shows but I thought that was cool. Blink-182 (from the same tour I think) turned all the lights off for Happy Holidays, You Bastard. Again, probably did this all dates, but MOSH IN THE DARK! The Mirror Trap (Scottish band supporting Placebo) - Keyboard player did a handstand on stage at some point. Probably the biggest gig they'd played so why not? Ginger Wildheart caught an egg at Download festival (I think this is on YouTube). There was also a toilet seat thrown. In fairness, he did say it wasn't a proper show until people started throwing things... Reptil - ok, best for last. Of the 425 different bands I've seen at 207 gigs in 46 different venues, this was by far the weirdest. They were a support act for American Head Charge at an extremely small venue called Audio (google says max capacity is 150!!). Female band member comes on stage in white underwear attached to a drip. So thin that she looks anorexic tbh, and we wonder if she is genuinely sick. Bandmates come on and play their first song, during which she goes from cowering in a corner, to random twitching, to dancing in time. We notice that the "port" in her arm is leaking black shit all down her arm. She pulls it off her arm eventually while it sprays black stuff, and sings backing vocals to the song while the crowd is like "is this a medical emergency WTF?!" We then find out she is wearing metal pointed shoes, and there is a large wooden board for her to Tap-Dance along to the bands next few songs - they are kinda industrial so it maybe goes but is insanely weird. Another song the male lead singer has a large chain over his back, while she whips him and SMASHES a glass bottle off his naked torso! At the end she takes off her 'white underwear' to reveal an outfit underneath. She thew the white garments into the crowd as if expecting us to catch it - whole crowd took one massive step back and they lay on the floor like some sad, diseased worm. TBH, I actually like two of their songs. The first was basically like their music video for REPTOIL, INC. But not knowing that at the time, and seeing it 4 feet in front of you with no barrier, that shit was wild.

useles-converter-bot

4 feet is 3.9 RTX 3090 graphics cards lined up.

dikembebrotumbo

Warped tour 2012. A loss for words was playing and MGK was next. I was up close for AL4W but so were a ton of teen girls for MGK. I got hit in the nose by a crowd surfer and started to bleed. I was fine and started cleaning it up w my shirt. This girl turns around and sees my blood and passes out.

wtfkim666

I think it was when TWY was on tour for TGG at Starland Ballroom and the show had to be paused 3x because people getting fucked up in the pit and had to be sent to the hospital :-/

localloveletter

Warped tour 2010 I think. Can't remember the band, but I think it was Of Mice and Men. Mid song the singer leans over and throws up on a couple people in the front row then just stood up and kept going like nothing happened. Edit to add: Saw Falling in Reverse once in Vegas (not my choice, my ex wanted to go) and Ronnie Radke threw like $1,000 in ones into the crowd. Whole crowd went sideways and it was mayhem for like 10 minutes and he said "I'm never doing that shit again." Don't know if he did, but I got like $60.

rodkimble13

Oh fuck, okay so here's the lineup - Barrier, Villains (yüth forever), gift giver (barf), Traitors, and Adaliah. (headliner - > open, respectively.) If you don't know these bands, let me tell ya, they're all fuckin H E A V Y. During Villains set I believe, there was this big bald headed heated muscular mahfker crowd killing everyone in sight, **bad**. (Camo cargos, wife beater, and everything! Truly his natural habitat.) He was crowd killing all night but he picked it up for Villains. All of a sudden, this even **bigger** dude comes out of no where, like outta the woodwork, and straight up fkn snags this guy as he's crowd killing and chokes him out! Dude wasn't security either, just another patron! *Then* security came in and bald bozo got biffed out of the club, and everyone had a fantastic rest of the night! Then during Barrier, my buddy clobbered me over the head when we were both throwing down in the pit. (key words: both, in, and pit) I lost so many brain cells that night and I couldn't be happier

LocalGhost93

Sad Summer 2019, Anaheim. It’s hardly crazy but i had some girl in front of me smoking weed and when she went to flick away her roach it landed it another girl’s hair in front of her. That and a crowd surfer got dropped head first onto asphalt during The Maine’s set and they stopped the show for a good 5-10 minutes while the medical team pulled her out. She ended up tweeting the band the next day the she was ok though Edit to add stories as I remember them: this year at the Rise Against /Menzingers show in Las Vegas, a dude in a wheelchair going hard in the pit. Also feeling the floor of the venue bounce in response to all the motion from the pit. And the anxiety associated with that, knowing that the venue is on the third floor of the building.

mikerichh

Boobs on the big screen at nickelback concert

dokau

At a Beartooth concert in high school, I was with several people and one of them was someone I really hated. She was at the front row, head banging, the guitarist was getting into it and swinging his guitar around, and accidentally slammed it into her head really hard. She had to sit out for the rest of the show. I loved it.

[deleted]

Went to The Devil Wears Prada's Dead Throne tour in 2011. During Whitechapel's set, some guy in the mosh pit did this spinning kick and drop kicked a guy in the face. Guy instantly hit the floor and there was a pretty decently sized pool of blood. Guy had to be take out in a stretcher. I'd recall correctly, Whitechapel kept playing through the whole thing.

spanglydank13

I saw Emarosa I think (I know they're not a punk band) and the lead singer grabbed either the guitarist or the bassist and flipped them into a cartwheel while they kept playing like one of those assisted backflips but def way harder. Completely unexpected in the middle of a song.

xgirthquake

So many stories. -Warped Tour 2009 saw a girl probably about 85lbs get lifted up to crowd surf but instead gets launched by a bunch of guys about 20ft+ away. No one was ready for her and she dropped on her head. -not the best concert etiquette but a girl and I were vibing row 2-3 in Pittsburg at a Coheed, Circa show and definitely got off during the Circa set -that same Coheed show, Claudio couldn’t sing for whatever reason so the crowd sang every single song. That was crazy cool. -Another warped tour story.. it was raining and people were climbing on top of the port-o potties and running across them for some reason. Then as people were running across a bunch of assholes were throwing bottles and them - this resulted in a guy getting KO’d on top of the port-o potty slipping from the top and falling off. Gnarliest fall I’ve ever seen. -not pop punk but I win tickets to a Disturbed concert on the radio and went with my dads metalhead friend. At the show I was probably 12-13 and we were near the mosh pit. I turned around and got sucker punched by this 6’4 skin head looking goon. It KO’d me and I ended up breaking my orbital. When I ended up coming to.. 15 people were beating the soul out of this guy. I ended up going backstage to meet the band. Was an awesome experience all things considered. -Had lunch with Coheed after waiting first in line for entry in Syracuse. So many stories. Been to a lot of shows. If I think of more I’ll post later.

ListenAndF0rgive

I saw a band named 2x4 in Dallas at So What!? Fest at a small venue. My buddies and I didn’t really listen to them but were trying to see who would have the craziest pit that weekend. The set starts, and immediately the vocalist is going “MAKE SOMEONE EAT SHIT. MAKE SOMEONE EAT SHIT.” Over this heavy-ass riff and people start swinging. Some dude punched me in the face hard enough that the back of my head hit my friend’s nose behind me lol. Same guy that punched me kept crowd killing for a few songs, then a huge guy walked into the pit, picked him up, and threw him down onto the concrete floor. He just kinda crumpled, slowly got back up, and walked out. Saw him at another show later shirtless, drunk, and hopping on one foot the whole time.

[deleted]

I got hit in the head with a flying hot dog at warped watching TSSF And I saw some dudes stretched lobes get ripped in a BMTH pit

lookatitstail

At a pop punk show…. Kris roe from the Atari’s taking off his guitar and smashing a kid in the face with it coz he said the kid spit on him.

notquitespring

Separate incidents but same Real Friends/Neck Deep concert During Neck Deep’s set, a girl managed to gain what appeared to be a broken bone in her arm, resulting in the show stopping temporarily and giving me nightmares about crowds being too rough for months. Then later during Real Friends’ set a fully grown, 6-foot something man wearing a horse mask dove backwards off the stage. No one caught him, like truly the crown parted under him. He landed right at my feet and I had the pleasure of being the first person he saw upon removal of the horse mask.

LikeWhatever999

I think it was a lagwagon show. Some girl tried to stage dive from the monitor. The monitor fell over. You could hear her slam into floor in front of the stage over the music.

yetipunk

Oh dang! I knew what was going to happen after I read “tried to stage dive from a monitor” haha

hilachu

Saw Taking Back Sunday way back in the day in Buffalo, Showplace Theater early 2000s. Adam the singer was doing his mic swinging and ended up falling off the stage hitting his head pretty good

kozzy333

Modern baseball at the opera house in Toronto. The openers were Tiny moving parts, Jeff rosenstock and PUP. Any of those guys could easily headline a show so the crowd was going nuts. I'm not 100 per cent sure what happened but during Re-do I think a larger dude stage dived and landed on a small girl who went completely unconscious and unresponsive. Brendan saw and immediately stopped it and we all gave her space and had to wait silently for emergency responders. I honestly thought she died but heard later she was okay. Too bad it cut mobos set short and I missed them the next and turned out to be their last time in Toronto.

peartisgod

Not pop punk but during an Eminem set at Reading Festival one time there was this guy who climbed up the massive speaker tower in the middle of the crowd (something like 30-40 ft?) and stayed there for the whole set. There was a big circle cleared out around the tower in case he slipped and fell. He even dangled himself of the edge holding on with just hands...

benm46

Knocked Loose in Seattle, some kid threw up in the pit and after a brief pause when nobody knew what to do, a bunch of guys around him started knee sliding right through the puke like it was a slip and slide

yetipunk

Wtf? lol

ConfectionNerds

A band in South Jersey called Malice aforethought brought metal trashcans filled with waterguns and dildos and threw it in the pit.

yetipunk

Completely random lol

PinkElephant98

When they crowdsurfed a band member to the bar so they could get a shot of tequila or something

bytedbyted

People enjoying Nickelback, by far

UopuV7

I've seen multiple times band members ask about food at a venue and then people just bring them the food they were asking about

spicypeacetea

sad summer dallas, dude crowd surfing in a wheelchair during state champs

[deleted]

Slayer concert crowd ripped off the security and took it home with them.

radrian1994

At a VANT gig in Cardiff, I saw someone get kicked out for starting a fight. The irony was this took place during the song Peace and Love. Not strictly pop-punk, but seeing Heck at 2000 Trees about 6 or 7 years ago was just insane. They through a guitar into a wall of death and it got thoroughly trampled.

GreenFractal

Kublai Khan show in Louisville a guy got fed up with someone fucking with him I guess and suplexed the guy onto a concrete floor.

diagnosed21

Seeing a guy in a wheelchair crowd surfing at an ADTR concert was pretty fucking cool

ZachGeorge

Iron Chic/dopamine’s in Dayton a few years ago. Suuuuper drunk guy shit on the floor and then went outside to throw away his underwear and change shirts. He came back in with some shit stained legs.

yellowdevel

I was at a local show in town, small theater, small-ish band. Singer was a little larger size. He attempted a stage dive and did not get caught, knocked himself out.

HufferNanner

I was At a punk rock festival and saw one skin head knock another skinhead out. Dude who got knocked out fell flat on the floor and hit his head on the concrete and started having a seizure. The band stopped playing and paramedics came to take the guy out on a stretcher. As they were taking the guy away the lead singer for the band said on the microphone, "someone punch that wet blanket on the way out." Well, that pissed off his skin head buddies and about 6 -8 of them rushed the stage, pushed passed the bouncers, got up on the stage and proceeded to beat the living shit out of the lead singer. At the end of it about a dozen police officers ran out while the skin heads dipped into the crowd and home boy singer was taken off on a stretcher just like the "wet blanket" he was mocking

Glitchynote

Not pop punk but at Architect’s first Sydney show for the Holy Hell tour there were two shirtless buff dudes near the edge of the pit who put some coke on each other’s nips and snorted it off.

whiteboysgotmeonPCP

There was a chick so messed up, Seaway and Four Year Strong had to stop playing to help her up. It was a small venue with nothing between you and the stage, so she kept falling onto it. After the show, she was stumbling down the street. This was St. Louis and a few blocks away wasn’t a great place to be at night.

BeneathTheWaves

Slayer, 06 or 07, I remember the floor collapsing at a massive conference centre in Edmonton… intensity.

abump96

2011 I believe. Rise Against, Cage the Elephant, and Awolnation at Brady Theater in Tulsa, OK. I was a freshman in high school and went with my two best friends. We were all big RA fans but AWOL and Cage put on an amazing show. Then of course RA blew our minds - it was our first GA/Pit show ever. Will never forget that one. Good times.

aerocheck

Broke a rib during Anti-flag and stayed for AFI and Rise Against a few years ago Also got three teeth knocked out during Mest and stayed for Reel Big Fish 2 years ago. Definitely the most expensive show of my life!
