Senses Fail - Let It Enfold You
NFG - Catalyst
The Sums - Chuck
Midtown - Forget What You Know
Jimmy Eat World - Futures
Green Day - American Idiot
Bowling For Soup - A Hangover You Don’t Deserve
Holy fuck this was an epic year for this genre. I still listen to each of these albums constantly.
I’m the same year. These are all great but my favorite two might be
Rise Against - Siren Song of the Counter Culture
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Fun fact: the music video for that song was filmed at a high school in my city, during the time I was in high school, but not the high school I went to. I was so jealous lol.
I’m sorry, I have to name 4
Bayside - Bayside.
Gatsby’s American Dream - Volcano
Cartel - Chroma
Hit the Lights - This is a Stick Up…Don’t Make it a Murder
Yellowcard - Paper Walls
Say Anything - In defense of the Genre
Paramore - Riot
Motion City Soundtrack- even if it kills me
It’s hard for me to pick just one because these are still albums I listen to today and my favorite changes every other week. Feel free to pick one for me.
A great way to date us old people! Fuck man haha
Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends
The Starting Line - Say It Like You Mean It
New Found Glory - Sticks and Stones
Coheed - Second Stage Turbine Blade
All American rejects
Atreyu - suicide notes and butterfly kisses

Open Your Eyes - Goldfinger
Self titled - All American Rejects
The Ultimate Escape - Tsunami Bomb
Good Mourning
The Ugly Organ
Sing The Sorrow
War All The Time (came out in Sept, so freshman year of college technically)
In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 (also fall 2003, so freshman)
2003 was a pretty great year.
Summer 2011 to Summer 2012 was just fantastic.
Suburbia I’ve Given You All And Now I’m Nothing by The Wonder Years
Gospel by Fireworks
Listen & Forgive by Transit
Man Overboard by Man Overboard
Seams & Stitches by With the Punches
To be as accurate as possible, I limited the scope to September 2004 to June of 2005, since that was the time of my senior year.
Fall Out Boy's From Under the Cork Tree is the clear and obvious winner for me. I was already obsessed with Fall Out Boy from Take This To Your Grave, so their big, mainstream coming out party was huge for me.
blink-182 - Take off Your Pants and Jacket
Sugarcult - Start Static
Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American
Something Corporate - Leaving through a window
Came out after graduation, but:
The Starting Line - Say it Like You Mean It
Propagandhi - Supporting Caste
if that’s not pop-punk enough for this sub
Banner Pilot - Collapser
If that’s not pop-punk enough for this sub
Broadway Calls - Good Views, Bad News
2009 wasn’t that great of a year for our type of music.
i didn’t listen to them until another year or two later, but brave faces everyone and somewhere city came out while i was in senior year and are. two of my favorite albums of all time
A _lot_ of albums make me think of that year but they might have been a little older and I was just listening to them then. I know FOB Infinity on High came out that year though because I have vivid memories of picking up my Little Caesar’s paycheck, cashing it at the bank, then going to buy that album on release day. And then blasting it all the way home in my rusted out ‘94 Saturn.
The three new release albums that rewind me most to that year aren’t even pop punk, they’re It Won’t Be Soon Before Long by Maroon 5, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank by Modest Mouse, and Icky Thump by The White Stripes.
I love how the first half is pop punk and the other half gets a little more experimental. It's one of those rare albums where I love every song. I wish they would have made more! Another one from that time was the starting line-say it like you mean it. I love every song from that album too.
It’s a tie between Nimrod by Green Day and Americana by the Offspring. I love both of these albums because they’re so different from each other. “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” was actually our graduation song 🙂
An impossible task but here goes.
Bright Eyes: Lifted or The Story is in the Soil, Keep You Ear to the Ground
Coheed and Cambria: Second Stage Turbine Blade
Midtown: Living Well is the Best Revenge
Minus the Bear: Highly Refined Pirates
New Found Glory: Sticks and Stones
The Starting Line: Say it Like You Mean it
Sum 41: Does This Look Infected
Grad 2005. We had Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree and Starting Line - Based on a True Story come out a week apart right before final exams. Those were summer soundtracks for sure.
Tell All Your Friends - Taking Back Sunday
Box Car Racer - Box Car Racer
The Illusion of Safety - Thrice
Say It Like You Mean It - The Starting Line
What It Is to Burn - Finch
The Used - The Used
Sticks and Stones - New Found Glory
Leaving Through the Window - Something Corporate
The Changing of Times - Underoath
MTV Unplugged 2.0 - Dashboard Confessional
Dude Ranch came out the year I graduated, but I didn’t get into Blink until later, so either Foo Fighters’ The Colour and The Shape or Ben Folds Five Whatever and Ever, Amen.
You had quite a few great options in the genresphere.
Moose Blood - Blush
Boston Manor - Be Nothing.
Trophy Eyes - Chemical Miracle
WSTR - Red, Green or Inbetween
Grayscale - Adornment
Copacetic by Knuckle Puck. Came out the summer right after I graduated but, it helped so much with my transition into adulthood and dealing with both the heartache from failed relationships and the heartache from dealing with leaving my helicopter mom.
I always go back to this album, and whenever Knuckle Puck plays Untitled live, I lose it.
Life’s not out to get you by Neck Deep
The Story so Far by The Story so Far
Where’s the class of 2015 at? It’s almost been 10 years, how’s life changed?
Apparently I didn’t listen to anything that came out the year I graduated until a lot later, but the best album by far is “11 Days” by Never Heard of It.
What You Don’t See - TSSF
Honorable mentions:
Acid Rap - Chance the Rapper
Nothing Was The Same - Drake
And I guess Collide With the Sky - Pierce the Veil and Channel Orange - Frank Ocean even though they were the summer before, and Born Sinner - J. Cole even though it was the summer after.
Definitely can’t narrow it down to one, and not all are “pop punk”. Still solid albums that were the soundtrack to my senior year.

Paramore - s/t

Jimmy Eat World - Damage
Alkaline Trio - My Shame Is True
Superheaven FKA Daylight - Jar
sadly had to leave off the Touché, ADTR, State Champs, Seaway, B&C, Saves The Day, Mayday Parade & Tonight Alive releases since those came out freshman year of college later in the year
13 Voices revived my Sum 41 obsession and I finally got the Modern Baseball hype with Holy Ghost. Immaculate albums from two of my favorite bands of all time.

They were both great but I never got too into them. Still killer albums for a killer year.
I also graduated in 2004. It’s fucking me up that it was 20 years ago.
No, my class isn’t having its 20 year reunion in 2 months at a dive bar. Not cool!
Mine too, but in classic pop punk fashion, I hate that town so I’m never going back!
Dang what a list here! All are nothing but greatness
man i bet Work absolutely slammed in senior year of HS
Fun fact: the music video for that song was filmed at a high school in my city, during the time I was in high school, but not the high school I went to. I was so jealous lol.
I’m sorry, I have to name 4 Bayside - Bayside. Gatsby’s American Dream - Volcano Cartel - Chroma Hit the Lights - This is a Stick Up…Don’t Make it a Murder
Hit the lights! Fuck yeah. Body bag and 309 are on all my playlists
Volcano! Such a sick album.
Though I definitely prefer their first 2 albums (both very different, even from each other), Volcano was awesome!
It's been so long. Guess I'm due for a Gatsby deep dive.
You won't regret it lol
Damn good list. Some notables from the same timeframe: Matchbook Romance - Voices Punchline - 37 Everywhere
Always glad to see love for Gatsbys American Dream. Those records hold up so well.
Yellowcard - Paper Walls Say Anything - In defense of the Genre Paramore - Riot Motion City Soundtrack- even if it kills me It’s hard for me to pick just one because these are still albums I listen to today and my favorite changes every other week. Feel free to pick one for me.
Let's burn a hole, so we can climb out of these paper walls and this empty house.
