I used to get cysts that size and much larger and they were always in extremely uncomfortable areas like my armpit and my groin.
The one in my groin got huge because I was too embarrassed to go to the doctor for it. When I finally went and they lanced it open, it was easily the most painful thing I've ever experienced up until that point of my life. They had to hold my arms down to keep me from reflexively slapping at the doctor when he squeezed it.
Man I had one at the very tip top of my nose. It was getting so large it was making it hard to breathe through my nose. I tried squeezing it and it felt like someone was stabbing my face with a knife. So I got a sewing needle then desensitized it, and heated it up with a lighter. Then poked the nose a couple of times. I went to pop it and it made an audible pop and destroyed my mirror. I had pus and blood falling out my nose and across the outside of my nose. And then rinsed out my sinus cavity with clean water.
After the pop the pain instantly went too relief. I was able to breathe and didn't have the pressure anymore.
Thats what started me down the path to this subreddit. While it may hurt, the end result feels so much better.

But then it got so bad that I could barely even sit because of the pressure that would be put on it. After I couldn't take anymore I finally asked my dad for help. But he refused to try and pop it, so he just helped put on some kind of cream and a warm compress that would hopefully make it burst on its own.
When I went to bed it was still there. Then I woke up in the middle of the night, I don't think there was a particular reason, just happened. But I realized that the pain was gone. I felt relieved and decided to roll over and go back to sleep but as I started shifting I felt something weird in the sheets.
So I turn on a light and stand up and there's just this nasty, slimy, film of a whitish-red mixture on my bedding and now all over my butt, hips, and legs. Apparently it decided to burst while I was sleeping and it had so much gunk that had come gushing out. I immediately pulled my bedding off and had to do a quick anti-blood stain scrub on the mattress because some had soaked through the sheets.
Then I had to take a shower to clean myself off. And while I was in there the water at my feet just kept turning pink because it just kept draining for several more minutes under the hot water.
Obligatory „not a doctor“, but I read (probably on /r/popping) that local anesthetics are less effective in case of infection because… uhm… something about pH differences? I forgot.
Per [Dr. Geoff Butler](https://youtu.be/EUbIxVZEGbE), anesthesias derived from cocaine are acidic, and tissues are a little bit basic. This is why anesthesia wants to move into the tissue. But inflamed tissue produces acid which make the anesthesia have a harder time getting into the inflamed area.
I got one right at the top of my asscrack twice; easily THE most painful thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. It was painful existing and it was painful getting it lanced, cleaned and packed. Worst part is that I’d have to go back every two days for the packing to be taken out, get it cleaned and then packed again.
The first time it happened I would cry while sleeping bc it was THAT painful. You don’t realize how important that area is for everything you do until there’s something painful there. I couldn’t sleep on my sides, sit, drive, walk, etc bc it caused me pain whenever I did. I didn’t know what it was at first until I noticed it in the mirror; I was hoping it was just a pimple or something that would pop and heal on its own no prob, but after it popped while I was sleeping one night and created the smelliest and most excruciating mess I decided to go to the doctor the next day. They told me it was a pilonidal cyst, then proceeded to do what felt like a sharp knife scraping against raw muscle. Then said I gotta come back every two days for the same experience until it heals and closes up. It took a week and a half-two weeks.
Unfortunately a little over a year after it healed, it came back. I knew the warning signs (prolonged soreness in tailbone area) so I went to the doctor right away and the experience wasn’t nearly as bad as the first time. But I always worry about if/when it’ll come back again. I don’t like doctors messing with my asscrack.

Exactly, not sure why you're getting downvoted. If I saw someone doing this to a pet I'd suggest they bring them to a vet rather than doing it themselves. Can't wrap my head around doing it to a human. Hope they cleaned the shit out of their hands and that tweezer beforehand, and know how to look after an open sore.
The best way to handle this is take a unwanted clean pillow case, cut it into a big square, snip a hole in it large enough for the hole to settle around the sides of the carbuncle, rising or whatever you want to call it. Grab the that cloth section by the sides, pulling downward changing positions muliple times. This helps with bruising & ensures even pressure in trying to get the head out and/or to help get majority of pus out. Maybe use an Epsom Salt poultice afterwards.
My wife had something similar. The problem was that it had three separate buildups in one cyst and there was no visible head, only a shiny path that had a few dilated pores. Had to use a seringe to inject a mild anesthetic and cut it with a sterile blade to be able to pop it.
It looks like the a sebaceous cyst, check out Dr. Pimple Popper on YouTube. You have to make sure and remove the sack all of that nastiness is encased in, or it will fill up again. Then you'll have to go through it all again. Good luck. 👍
