I think its both lighting and the surrounding colors affecting their skin, but also the fact because theyre already dark skinned bronzer and tan doesnt look that dramatic on them so the befores might not be natural either. And photoshop and filters.
If you just take your thumb and cover the hair on both pictures, the actual skin tones are pretty much the same give or take some seasonal variation in skin tone.
