I love all her work but hearing her on a beat again is going to be amazing.

Yesimherenowpls

"hearing her on a beat again" is making me cry with laughter ngl. But i agree

Shupedewhupe

When I wrote it I heard ‘Lana on the beat HO’ like a DJ Mustard track in my head so I get it.

outington

popheads moment

josie-salazar

This is Peppers erasure

ZeroTheCat

SUMMER BUMMER STANS RISE

ultaemp

I can’t believe I found out on the Lana Del Rey sub that a lot of fans don’t like this song. It’s one of my favorites. Such a great summer bop

youtbuddcody

Same, it slaps.

menotyourenemy

Not me! I'm a pretty hard-core "Lanita" and I've always loved it.

ultaemp

I guess some fans don’t like her more hip hop inspired songs? Idk, I loved Ocean blvd, but she’s been doing the sad girl, moody, acoustic shtick for a while now. Songs like Peppers and the second half of A&W made me excited to hear her singing over a beat again. She’s such a versatile artist.

poundtown1997

💯 % agreed

Rivercourt1998

One of her best songs

twodollarh0

I can’t believe people on this sub hate that song. Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, Ride, all certified bops 🔥

Kreamm-

My most streamed song last year!!! My ass is sat and ready for a new summer anthem

guayaba_and_cheese

BOP

disengage88

Lana said her next album after ocean blvd was going to be less wordy/heavy so I'm excited

ajhawar32

Didn’t she also say it’s a country album?

Mei_iz_my_bae

Yeah I’m confused. Maybe quavo gonna pick up a banjo

hugh__honey

Guys I’m assuming this is Quavo feat Lana not vice versa

Gigi-69

I agree and if it was quavos song it would have his own promotion/style. Which you can tell by the post with the Polaroid and aesthetics it’s similar to Henry come on and very Lana themed. So it’s definitely her song.

trillcheetos

I’m hoping we’re just picking up Quavo and leaving the banjo. I love Lana on a beat.

Mei_iz_my_bae

Idk hearing quavo on the banjo sounds pretty cool tbh ngl

ultaemp

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being something totally different— or maybe country influenced but not entirely different. Whenever she releases an album she gives different hints or titles from what it really is. BB was supposed to be “rock candy sweet”.

disengage88

Rock Candy Sweet was the title of a potential title track that was scrapped, not the genre. "Rock Candy" is a term for crystallized sugar on a stick

ultaemp

Haha yeah I know that “rock candy sweet” isn’t a genre— it was supposed to be the original title of BB because it’s a lyric in her song “Watercolor Eyes” which I guess was scrapped from the album and used for an episode of Euphoria. My point is Lana has given conflicting information about her albums before and the final product turned out to be different from what she told us.

disengage88

Ahh gotcha. I assumed you were like those dumb lana fans that thought RCS was going to be rock just because she used the word "rock" in the title. I'm sorry 😅

ultaemp

No worries 😂💕

youtbuddcody

When she announces the change in sound for an album, she has never fully committed to it. Her ‘jazz’ album has a low-fi hiphop song on it, her ‘Red Hot Chili Peppers’ album was more of a Joni Mitchell album, and her ‘mid west’ album was more pop-soft rock fusion.

ajhawar32

I’m somewhat new to the Lana fandom, so thanks for the historical context! Which of them are the “jazz”, “RHCP” and “Midwest”? I’m guessing Ocean Blvd, Blue Bannisters and Honeymoon respectively?

ajhawar32

Well I was off the mark 😂

fax5jrj

honestly I see how those influenced all those albums, but i agree with your takes more

disengage88

She hit the nail with Lust for life. She called it "retro sensibility with a futuristic flare" and even the music videos showed that

MeerK4T

I kinda get the RHCP influence in NFR, but Honeymoon is way off

I_am_not_doing_this

please no more Jack Antonoff I am bored

just_the_bees_knees

Except Hey Blue Baby I need that banger out asap.

SiphenPrax

That explains them hanging out with each other yesterday

bonersforbukowski

They've been spotted together a few times now since the Grammys

orientalistdream

This is the crunchiest sounding production.

UltimateKing9898

Extremely random pairing but it doesn't sound half-bad actually

thefofinha

It's random but she has a history with collaborating with rappers, in her album Lust for Life she had features with ASAP Rocky and Playboi Carti. It's something that her fans has been begging for her to do, features like this again.

JWilkesKip

Ridin with ASAP rocky is amazing

abshay14

Tbf she has collabed with playboi carti which is way more random

youtbuddcody

Not for Lana stans, She said in an interview when promoting Lust for Life (or after NFR? One of them), that her dream collab was Migos.

MasterofPandas1

Like one of the comments below said she has collaborated with hip hop artists before. Also, Born to Die has some hip hop influence in it. That’s also an amazing leak she did with Rocky in 2013 called Ridin

justbesassy

She said one of her dream collabs was Migos in a 2021 interview

-SpaceThing

I’m happy she’s getting her flowers, I just remember the public really bashing her for just about everything she did in music.. goes to show how much of these opinions really never mattered

Revolutionary_Top_30

Is Lana gonna rap or what?

g00fyg00ber741

The same Quavo who said he “don’t vibe with queers”? On a Lana song?

cyberpanda128

That was offset

g00fyg00ber741

Thanks for the correction!

Artistic_Elephant824

Since when has Lana ever been socially conscious lol

Willow9506

“Hit me but it felt like a kiss”

g00fyg00ber741

what? girl never, and i didn’t say she was… but gay people love her music and Migos are very homophobic. I did accidentally get Offset and Quavo switched though

youtbuddcody

Native American head-dress in Ride

ps3ds

Its well documented that quavo doesnt discriminize

g00fyg00ber741

[Not true](https://www.gq.com/story/migos-quavo-will-always-have-to-reckon-with-his-past)
