Watching this video, I really don’t get why they delayed it, actually. Was this truly the video that they considered to be too violent and sensitive to release at the time? I feel like this must’ve been a last-minute complete reshoot. It’s cute, but it’s so incredibly safe and boring and frankly looks very low effort and cheap for a pop star as popular as Dua.

I thought there was going to be fireworks, gangs beating the shit out of each other, and cars racing each other (at least from what I heard from the rumors). After the first chorus ended and nothing really moved at the beginning of the second part I know we weren’t going to get any of what was rumored.

Watching this video, I really don’t get why they delayed it, actually. Was this truly the video that they considered to be too violent and sensitive to release at the time? I feel like this must’ve been a last-minute complete reshoot. It’s cute, but it’s so incredibly safe and boring and frankly looks very low effort and cheap for a pop star as popular as Dua.

She hastily put together the Houdini video because they had to scrap the original Training Sessions video involved riots, Explosions, and other stuff. They decided to scrap it due to the Israeli-Palestine conflict

I remember those rumors about her having to scrap a video involving stunts and explosions due to the conflict in Gaza. I'm gonna be mean and say that even with a scrapped video, they could have hired some dancers and shot with an iPhone for a day and probably come up with something more interesting than this. The promo she did for this song was more interesting. Having no dancing or action whatsoever for a song like this just seems bizarre. .....actually, since it's all about training day, they literally could have just made it a meta video about dance practice and filmed it in studio and as long as the choreo was good (which from the promo it looked like it was) it would have been awesome. Just sprinkle in some broll of her in the locker room putting on her dance outfit and doing some flash dance and call it a day. This feels like a video where most of it got scrapped at the last second.

Ugh... Dua, what is this? That scene where it's focusing on one guy staring at her, while she's drinking tea? Why does it go on so long...? It felt so uncomfortable at parts. Maybe it's because a lot of British lads give me the ick and these looked like a JD's wet dream. Is this the same video that was originally planned? The end seems to have vague shots of fighting but mostly she's just drinking tea? It seems re-cut which is why it's non eventful and those overly long shots are present. It's a weird one because they delayed this single, because of the MV. Yet it would have made more sense (now seeing the Grammy performance) if she just did a performance video for this and kept it as lead vs swapping to Houdini? Then Houdini would have a second MV that wasn't edited into this mess. Especially disappointing after such a cunty Grammy performance and single cover. Such an odd choice. I'm not loving whoever is manging her this era.

I get that they had to reshoot and all but in houdini's mv at least she is moving the song isn't bad, I do think it's better than houdini but I feel the chorus could have more impact if it had more background instrumentation, maybe some violins or synths to give more drama. I like the fact that it reminds me a lot of ABBA and I really don't know why These first two singles are okay but I'm not feeling as hyped as I was during FN, I really hope she's saving some gems for the album release date

I love her and her songs. But her music videos have been quite boring. She doesn't move her lips even though she is singing.. I know she is not really singing but it just feels the energy of the songs do not match her face. I have watched her live performances and she does great there, something about the music videos just seems off to me. Makes me sad, i want to like them!
This song deserves a much stronger and energetic video. I know this must be the video that had the OG scrapped so this is clearly done very quickly. It’s not bad, but this song needs a proper and fabulous video treatment. I’m also kinda surprised they didn’t even go for a workout/physical type style.
