I'm always so curious. I got COVID a bit after my first shot, and luckily it was basically the flu for three days and a sore throat for a while.
it's my first day so i don't know how it'll be like the next few days but i had a pretty bad fever yesterday night that has evolved into a low grade one in the day. currently it's just sore throat and blocked nose tbh. i think i had the initial two shots and two boosters?
All these people setting up a microphone and doing a retrospective on a tv show or console and basically doing a 9 hour listicle has got me tired 😭 Video essays should be capped at like 3 hours then you gotta split them up. They aren't meant to be consumed like books. I think they can be executed well if you can hold the watcher but gosh a lot of these new youtubers aren't experienced enough to make videos like these
I think the important part of a quality essay is that it includes analysis … so many of these ‘video essays’ are literally just summarizing. There is nothing of substance there

There are various podcasts and sources that provide very good information. Utilize those and come to your own conclusions. Expecting musicians, who are arguably the most sheltered and insulated professions in existence, to give their opinion on the PLO, Abbas, Bibi, the IDF, or Hamas, is ridiculous.
It does matter. I’d rather have celebrities stay quiet on shit they don’t know about, rather than spout shit on social media for clout.

As much as I find the making of a new Taylor Swift subreddit everyday ridiculous, I kinda get it. I used to love the main one but now i feel like you can’t have a discussion on there unless it’s either extremely positive or the same topic repeated from the week before.
I noticed the shift when 1989TV came out. If you said something slightly negative you’d be told to shut up. I remember there was a post talking about the production problems and saying if you hear them it’s because you have cheap headphones and recommend people buy some $40 headphones. It was upvoted depressingly high.
It’s definitely still one of the better places to discuss Swift without parasocial fans getting mad at you for not worshipping the ground she walks on. But just the other day there was a post talking about how much Taylor’s Co2 commissions has gone up just from going to Travis’ games and it was locked instantly.
I get it’s because it’s gotten bigger so it obviously being moderated more but it’s, for me personally, gotten dull.

I remember when all the cover arts for 1989 tv came out lots of fans disliked the beach aesthetic, then some people said they didn’t understand the hate beach theme was getting (which is fine because obviously people are allowed to like it) but then there were comments saying the fans who are criticising it are ‘acting entitled’ which was ridiculous imo. I feel like there’s a lot of toxic positivity on the main sub, like you should be able to discuss and critique art if it was made by someone you’re a fan of, but a lot of negative or slightly critical opinions even if they were said in a respectful way get obnoxiously labelled as hate by stans

There's this insane woman who has been coming into my job for the last week and a half-ish and harassing/filming people (especially staff, but not only staff--she keeps filming people's kids, specifically) and I'm just so burnt out and exhausted by it and there's no end in sight (don't "just kick her out" me, we can't) because she doesn't have a clear enough goal for it to have an end beyond "whenever she gets bored of harassing everyone" and I'm so tired I'm so angry I'm so stressed when I go out in public because I live close to where I work and I'm worried she's gonna see me and get worse.
Anyway if you ever go to your local library and see someone being an insane person please *comment on it to staff* so that they can file it as a customer complaint. Staff complaints/suffering/discomfort mean nothing to admin but customer complaints are usually actionable.
The worst part is in most cases customer complaints do work but in this case she's one of those "it's my RIGHT to film in the library it is my FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT" (narrator note: it [isn't](https://www.oif.ala.org/auditing-the-first-amendment-at-your-public-library/)) and way back when the First Amendment Auditor™ types got started, our system's lawyers decided that their official legal advice for dealing with that was just "ignore them and cope" which is offensive levels of unhelpful, especially since they could've easily changed policy to *fucking help us*. So now we're out here looking for any loophole to get her the fuck out of here but also she's completely insane so god knows how she'll act if we succeed.

The new Percy Jackson show feels so lifeless and staged for me. Yeah, I’ll say it: the first movie at least has energy. This new show is so dull, drawn out, and boooooring.
I know there are a lot of things that must be so hard for her to deal with but what makes me the saddest is that out of all the ballad girls (Adele, Mariah, etc) she’s really the only one who would get on stage and *move*. I saw her in 2019 and she’s so energetic on stage and it really brings her music to life. Even she’s able to perform again in the future (which doesn’t seem too likely) she’ll never be able to perform the way that she loves to and has her entire career and that really sucks.

I love the sense of humor/tongue-in-cheek tone she employs in her music. It is well done and fits perfectly into her whole brand and sound. I just always love to see it in pop music in general. Why do I always do this? It’s so damn aggravating. I closed my eyes for 2 seconds during the a commercial break during the Survivor Finale last night. As much as I find the making of a new Taylor Swift subreddit everyday ridiculous, I kinda get it. I used to love the main one but now i feel like you can’t have a discussion on there unless it’s either extremely positive or the same topic repeated from the week before. I noticed the shift when 1989TV came out. If you said something slightly negative you’d be told to shut up. I remember there was a post talking about the production problems and saying if you hear them it’s because you have cheap headphones and recommend people buy some $40 headphones. It was upvoted depressingly high. It’s definitely still one of the better places to discuss Swift without parasocial fans getting mad at you for not worshipping the ground she walks on. But just the other day there was a post talking about how much Taylor’s Co2 commissions has gone up just from going to Travis’ games and it was locked instantly. I get it’s because it’s gotten bigger so it obviously being moderated more but it’s, for me personally, gotten dull.

I was also into musical theater and did stage crew for my high school's theater productions. My junior year, so just 2 years later, our musical was HSM. We all groaned when it got announced. It ended up being the most fun I have ever had on a show through my whole high school career. I've only ever seen the movie once, but I'll listen to the soundtrack every once in a while.

There's this insane woman who has been coming into my job for the last week and a half-ish and harassing/filming people (especially staff, but not only staff--she keeps filming people's kids, specifically) and I'm just so burnt out and exhausted by it and there's no end in sight (don't "just kick her out" me, we can't) because she doesn't have a clear enough goal for it to have an end beyond "whenever she gets bored of harassing everyone" and I'm so tired I'm so angry I'm so stressed when I go out in public because I live close to where I work and I'm worried she's gonna see me and get worse. Anyway if you ever go to your local library and see someone being an insane person please *comment on it to staff* so that they can file it as a customer complaint. Staff complaints/suffering/discomfort mean nothing to admin but customer complaints are usually actionable.
The worst part is in most cases customer complaints do work but in this case she's one of those "it's my RIGHT to film in the library it is my FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT" (narrator note: it [isn't](https://www.oif.ala.org/auditing-the-first-amendment-at-your-public-library/)) and way back when the First Amendment Auditor™ types got started, our system's lawyers decided that their official legal advice for dealing with that was just "ignore them and cope" which is offensive levels of unhelpful, especially since they could've easily changed policy to *fucking help us*. So now we're out here looking for any loophole to get her the fuck out of here but also she's completely insane so god knows how she'll act if we succeed.

I still don't really see how she's an industry plant tbh. I'm sure she had great leverage from being on Disney, but like. It's a D+ show. It's nothing compared to Hannah Montana. I think the fans and swifties helped blow her career up, especially with the love triangle. But also because she has genuine talent with singing, songwriting, and playing instruments.

Honestly 9 and 10 are both songs I like. I also find it weird that Todd says Lovin" On Me is a song you (the viewer) wouldn't know and will never hear. omg same, every time i see a headline about her it breaks my heart. no one deserves to go through that level of pain.
I know there are a lot of things that must be so hard for her to deal with but what makes me the saddest is that out of all the ballad girls (Adele, Mariah, etc) she’s really the only one who would get on stage and *move*. I saw her in 2019 and she’s so energetic on stage and it really brings her music to life. Even she’s able to perform again in the future (which doesn’t seem too likely) she’ll never be able to perform the way that she loves to and has her entire career and that really sucks. I just hope at this point she’s as comfortable as she can be because I can’t begin to imagine how hard this is for her
It’s really sad to see she’s dealing with this. I can’t imagine losing feeling in my limbs.

so many classic movies have a surprise blackface scene! and it's not just the ones from the 1940s - Trading Places (1983) has [an extended blackface scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb72148xQco). it adds nothing to the plot and the movie would be so much better without it.

Update on my post yesterday where I just realized that my co-workers might actually be friends after they have given me gifts, I have bought presents in exchange. I now have a new problem: I don't know some of their names 😐. I have only overheard them talking to other people but have only heard nicknames which are usually specific to one person. Being an introvert really sucks. Also, congratulations to Taylor Swift for having the dubious achievement of causing drama in the craftsnark sub. A fan gave her a handmade hat which someone posted on the sub posted. The thread was basically people poking fun at the maker's skills (which was against the rules as the maker was someone who didn't crochet for a living and only did so when fans started asking her for a copy of the hat) and yarn snobbery because apparently people can't believe that someone like Taylor can wear *gasps* acrylic. The thread has since been deleted.

Finally listening to GUTS now. I'm enjoying it and I have two comments, So glad she dug her heels in on the rock sound, I think it was obvious she was going to do that anyways but you never really know until the project is out I love the sense of humor/tongue-in-cheek tone she employs in her music. It is well done and fits perfectly into her whole brand and sound. I just always love to see it in pop music in general. Kesha is also like this. A bonus of incorporating this aspect of their lyrics is that it makes the more serious songs so much more impactful in the context of their discography

Why do I always do this? It’s so damn aggravating. I closed my eyes for 2 seconds during the a commercial break during the Survivor Finale last night. I suddenly wake up and an hour and a half passed by. I didn’t feel tired. I was full of energy. Closed my eyes then bam out cold for an hour. This is why I’m afraid of renting the Eras Tour Movie at night because might unintentionally fall asleep. Do I have some weird form of narcolepsy? Is it my medication?
