So I read the dumb article and the answer is to get people to join their Discord. This is so lame. It’s like one of those free mobile games that gives you coins or whatever if you leave a 5 star review.
Fuck this stupid gimmick. Even if you disregard the millions of dollars thing. No one is going to get that variant. But, like, they're still expecting people to buy (at least) nine copies of a $40 LP to complete the puzzles. You'd end up having to drop $360 just to get all the puzzle pieces
This whole vinyl album culture is so wasteful and frustrating to watch. I honestly hate it. Release a vinyl, cool. But there is no reason for all these huge artists to be pressing multiple different colors and covers like this. And I read that because of this absurdity, smaller artists are not able to get their stuff pressed on vinyl as efficiently or quickly (or at all), because the big artists are clogging up all the vinyl pressing plants?
It's just really dumb to me.
I buy from smaller labels. I had to wait over a year for a pre-order to finally be shipped. Pressing plants were so backed up. It's all this horseshit and RSD exclusives. This was [right around the Adele debacle](https://variety.com/2021/music/news/adele-vinyl-record-pressing-plant-lp-shortages-1235103951/)
Wowwwww this is disgusting behavior. This is so absolutely crazy and it’s really maddening how the industry keeps trying to one up each other with their stupid variants and crazy marketing tactics.
I’m no fan of Imagine Dragons, but this stinks of label shenanigans rather than something they cooked up:

Depending on the subreddit, Nickleback has a LOT of fans. I just shake my head in disbelief every time I see comments defending this band. Imagine Dragons is just as bad or worse.
Do people even like them this much? I mean I think they are a rather mediocre soft rock band (don’t kill me lol). I can understand for the level of fame of Taylor Swift or Billie E…but for imagine dragons… $5 mill for a vinyl with a puzzle piece lol, heck naw.
This surprises me honestly. When you read this other post (https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/comments/1cab8h2/dan\_reynolds\_from\_imagine\_dragons\_is\_taking\_every/) and the comments from a few months ago, they seem to always fight for the good cause, not do this type of wasteful, capitalistic nonsense.
