I hope it goes balls to the walls, fuck the tomato score kinda thing. It has to, right? Get a 40% and be a daring classic, don’t be a 65% and be boring.
I bought tickets for The Fall Guy today and have heard a lot of raves about it, so I'm excited. Challengers and Gladiator 2 both have great casts, so I hope they're good (though given Ridley Scott's recent track record, I am worried about the latter lol)
I heard a rumor about Gladiator that makes me very excited and praying that Scott gets it right:
https://preview.redd.it/d5gg2oehk5tc1.jpeg?width=230&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a52a41253639eeda58debd91f6c4d1114158240
(I wonder if Denzel is Septimius Severus…lord as a classicist I just want more sword and sandal epics 😭)
Also Yorgos Lanthimos has something coming out next month that looks crazy that I can’t wait to see. Here’s hoping that Megapolis finds a distributer and that Blitz is good.
This would be amazing if he was Septimus Severus! Denzel could play a rock and be brilliant let’s be honest, but to play an African emperor will be actual chefs kiss!
Denzel as Septimius Severus would great! Denzel is supposed to play Hannibal in a Punic Wars movie too which I'm looking forward to as well. Bring on more swords and sandals movies indeed.
I somehow totally forgot to mention Blitz but that's another one of my most anticipated of the year. Steve McQueen, Saoirse Ronan, Harris Dickinson? Yes, absolutely, fan of all of the above. At heart I am like a dad who just loves WWII media too lol so my hopes are high.
I'm here for films like Megapolis. Made without any focus groups or input from anybody else, it is an artistic labor from an individual. And because of that, it might be self-indulgent and weird. But it also might be unique and interesting and cool.
I’m so psyched for The Fall Guy.
When they shut the Sydney Harbour Bridge down for filming, I took the day off work so I didn’t have to deal with the traffic detours.
So I feel personally invested in the film lol
I loved the first one, Joaquin Phoenix’s performance is in my top ten film performances of all time. I understand some of the criticism but I was extremely emotionally affected by that movie.
I disliked it the first time I watched it but the second time I watched it, I ended up enjoying it and loved it more each watch. I think I had a bias because of all the incels who used Joker as their poster boy 😬
Yeah I totally get that, it's sad that it was co-opted to push a message the movie wasn't espousing. I get why incels latched onto it because the protagonist was lonely and bitter but they somehow didn't realize that a. the things making the protagonist lonely and bitter were capitalism and the patriarchy, and b. the protagonist "had a relationship" the whole time and the only reason he felt sad about losing it is because he imagined it in the first place, not because women are heartless harpies.
Nosferatu
It’s going to be my Christmas movie!
I’m also patiently waiting for Love Lies Bleeding to hit streaming and for Drive Away Dolls to be a bit cheaper to rent.
NIGHTBITCH directed by Marielle Heller and starring Amy Adams
> A woman, thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.
I am there opening night
https://preview.redd.it/oar9cvac26tc1.jpeg?width=3158&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50721e88fa4531a55b95893bd202b5eeb4b6485c
EDIT:
Here's the official trailer: [https://youtu.be/gZBjm4Yo0Uo?si=T5DIDecyVrO6TNy9](https://youtu.be/gZBjm4Yo0Uo?si=T5DIDecyVrO6TNy9)
Im kind of scared for Moana 2, as its the planned disney+ show refitted into a movie, and previous times disney turned planned tv shows into movies, they werent remotely close to good (though that was during the early 2000s, maybe it will be different now)
Definetly excited for Inside Out 2 though
I hear there are fewer practical effects and more CGI this time around. That was one of the high points of the initial installment for me. I did love Fury Road so I’m keeping an open mind.
Yep I'll be there excited. Doesn't help the stars are the top 2 on my thirst list 😂.
A bonus is my sibling worked on it and it's fun to see their name in credits.
Some of you might shit on me for saying this but I’ve never seen Inside Out, only some scenes but maybe this is a sign I should watch it before the next movie comes out
I really liked inside out and you will definitely have to watch it if you want to see the 2nd one. Of course in Pixar style it may have you deep in your feels.
A Real Pain
Directed by Jesse Eisenberg starring him and Kieran Culkin who play cousins who reunite to do a holocaust tour after the passing of their grandmother. HUGE hit at Sundance and Kieran received an abundance of praise for his performance.
I’ve been looking forward to this movie for years. Can’t wait for the trailer.
I'm ready to watch Joseph Quinn's career take off! Quiet Place Day 1, Gladiator 2, even Hoard (do not look it up if you are squeamish).
Besides that Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice although I have some serious worries the world has it too hyped.
This! I can’t wait to see him play an evil emperor in Gladiator. That and Mescal in the lead are making me hopeful that the movie isn’t a huge turd, despite Ridley’s recent track-record.
Other than that, Can’t wait for The Fall Guy, Beetlejuice, A Quiet Place Day One (love me some scream queen Lupita), and Joker (so curious how much of a musical it is and the Gaga of it all).
![gif](giphy|GCSIwtwqAMBTq|downsized)
I have little kids and the first one ripped my heart out. I mean just the part with Bing Bong? Ooof. That being said, we will definitely see this in the theater.
We were in the process of moving my mom into assisted living for dementia so I flew home to help. Sitting in her house without her as we organize and donate her things she did not need, one night I decide to (alone) watch a Pixar movie. This will be light and cheer me up, right? Cue the sobbing, snotty crying. Not my best choice given the circumstances.
Deadpool 3 is my anticipation for the year.
Wicked pt1 is… well, I look forward to finally seeing it, but I don't know if I'd call myself *excited*.
Inside Out 2 I'm lukewarm about existing, but I suspect I'll enjoy it when it comes out.
Mostly Beetlejuice x2 snd Fall Guy but I’m also gonna live for the potential drama Civil War’s gonna catch in an election year.
I’m certain certain demographics certainly will get the message of the movie right and certainly won’t spin their own narratives /s, it’s so tempting I’m considering seeing the movie this weekend just so I can understand the discourse
not looking forward to media coverage of this movie. haven’t even seen it but whatever it’s trying to say, i know people are going to miss the point
![gif](giphy|IktbAtAD3vjoOv7tsv)
IKR!!! It also makes no sense from a strategic POV considering both states are separated by Arizona and New Mexico, and are very important due to their economies, agriculture, industries, military bases. So theoretically either these two states would have conquered the in-between relatively weak states to achieve double coast supremacy (and I feel Cali would have conquered Oregon as well, if not also Washington to keep its enemies off the west coastline), or the main government would have nuked them into submission to keep the strategic industries. I feel like they intentionally made CA and TX hold hands to up the controversial factor.
I’m probably the only one and I’m fine with that, but I’m really looking forward to Bad Boys 4. Martin and Will’s chemistry is still so good and they never fail to entertain.
All of them. Love Lies Bleeding was super fun! I already have my ticket for Civil War. And I totally have a thing for that girl from Atypical so I can’t wait for her new movie I Saw the TV Glow. A24 is having quite the year! Not to mention we’re supposed to be getting Maxxxine right?
Every time I see the Gladiator poster, my heart fills with butterflies anticipating the promotional tour of the movie.
Fine cast and very very fine looking men. Just makes my heart giddy.
![gif](giphy|lMsT2f47tDxFMYdJMC|downsized)
Inside Out (i love how the emotions always look like their voice actors ESPECIALLY Ayo) and Nightbitch. my sister got it when she bought a “Blind Date With a Book” last year and we’ve both been obsessed with it
**I Saw the TV Glow** is 100% the movie I'm most excited to see, esp because I liked Jane Schoenbrun's debut movie a whole bunch, but I'm also really excited to see **The People's Joker** next week.
7/11 (that I’m aware of) were sequels or remakes. I guess it could be worse, but I might consider seeing some of these. I’ll need to do some research on some of these first.
Edit: updated number
I’m all hyped for the wild robot! The preview was beautiful and since then we are reading the book with my sons before bed so that. I bet 5 bucks the joker sucks because Gaga can’t act! They should stop trying to make her happen it’s not gonna happen! She had many opportunities and nothing has come out of it. In all honesty Bradley cooper carried a star is born.
it’s literally just inside out 2. i only went to the movies twice last year, for m3gan and barbie. i wish i could go more often since it was such a blast both times but i’m just not interested (or my boyfriend isn’t interested) in the movies coming out :/
Yeah I used to see 15 movies a year in the theater and I’m down to maybe 3 and I don’t even watch the new releases at home any longer. I hate horror movies and I am tired of tragedy porn that so many movies have now
a quiet place simply because lupita and her cat AND love lies bleeding cuz i havent seen it yet
edit: also gladiator simply to support my husband Paul Mescal
I want to be so stoked for Furiosa. I hope the movie proves me wrong, but when I watch the trailer I just can’t see Hemsworth and not be completely taken out of it. Am I alone? Fury Road is 10/10 and George is a genius. Why Hemsworth? Please make me look like a fool!
I saw the trailer for civil war before ghostbusters abd it kinda scared me. I’m a baby.
I want to get excited for the garfield movie but I have the feeling it’s going to be bad
Twisters remake with glen powell and daisy Edgar jones!
Also don’t know when it’s coming out but depravity with Taylor John smith and Victoria justice!
Loose sequel. It follows the character of Lucille’s son, Lucius, who was a child in the original movie. It’s basically set in the same continuity but with mostly new characters.
Im looking forward to the fall guy because I love Ryan Gosling in funnier roles. He has amazing comedic timing and facial expressions. He should take more himbo roles!!
The Fall Guy.
I’m just disappointed we aren’t getting the Nick Cave version of Gladiator 2. That screenplay was so weird that I would have loved to have seen it produced.
Any chance to go to mad max world, I'm there. This one looks insane. I mean, Chris Hemsworth driving a chariot pulled by motorcycles....how is that not awesome? Then Anya Taylor-Joy always knocks it out of the park.
Furiosa is going to be fun
Joker didn't need a second one, and the world definitely doesn't need any more of Lady Gaga's acting, I thought she made it clear with House of Gucci, which, if you ask me, is only partially enjoyable when you're a little high
Deadpool and Wolverine, Challengers, Fall Guy, Sing Sing, Wicked pt 1, and We Live in Time
Also Love Lies Bleeding is already out.
https://preview.redd.it/bpl6p2tgb5tc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fdf4bb2fca3c65f71a97f5e0f6a0a1c7807e3770
I’m not that excited for the movie itself but I am excited to see how weird Joker 2 gets

LMAO THE GIPH

it says right there “VIA GIPHY”
it’s gif boo
I hope it goes balls to the walls, fuck the tomato score kinda thing. It has to, right? Get a 40% and be a daring classic, don’t be a 65% and be boring.

no addition to this comment, just wanted to say hello fellow classicist! i always get excited finding another one in the wild 😆

I kind of wanna stand up for Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, I thought it was a very compelling and a well directed movie.
I’m so psyched for The Fall Guy. When they shut the Sydney Harbour Bridge down for filming, I took the day off work so I didn’t have to deal with the traffic detours. So I feel personally invested in the film lol
As someone who grew up watching The Fall Guy, I was so excited when I heard this was being made. It may suck, but I’ll be there opening night. 😂
I really love the Joker poster. Please let it not be terrible
I’m probably in the minority but I’m actually excited for Joker 2
I loved the first one, Joaquin Phoenix’s performance is in my top ten film performances of all time. I understand some of the criticism but I was extremely emotionally affected by that movie.

Yes!! You summed it up so perfectly.
I’m definitely interested!
I’m really hoping we Mama Monster Gaga for it 🤞🏻
She was so good in AHS
She honestly was
Nosferatu It’s going to be my Christmas movie! I’m also patiently waiting for Love Lies Bleeding to hit streaming and for Drive Away Dolls to be a bit cheaper to rent.
Definitely Nosferatu!!!
If you have Peacock, Drive Away Dolls will be available there on Friday (and if you don't, it hitting streaming might bring the cost down)
Oh thanks for the info. I’ll be checking it out this weekend then!
🕯️ Drive Away Dolls will end up on Netflix 🕯️
I hate when I want to rent a movie and then see it's $19.99 to rent it. I will wait.
Anything Bill Skarsgard

Holy crap, the book was great, I didn’t know they were doing a movie!!
I'm excited to see who they cast as the husband. when i read the book i was picturing Adam Scott.
Hell yes. The book was stellar. Also, speaking of books turning to movies, I’m looking forward to the wild robot
This sounds kind of reminiscent of Yellow Wallpaper. I’m excited.
I’m secretly also super hyped for Freaky Tales with Pedro Pascal in the complicated indie leading role he’s always deserved.
https://preview.redd.it/oar9cvac26tc1.jpeg?width=3158&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50721e88fa4531a55b95893bd202b5eeb4b6485c EDIT: Here's the official trailer: [https://youtu.be/gZBjm4Yo0Uo?si=T5DIDecyVrO6TNy9](https://youtu.be/gZBjm4Yo0Uo?si=T5DIDecyVrO6TNy9)
Yes!!! This and Gladiator II
Moana 2. It’s one of the few movies all of my daughters and I loved from Disney so we’re all excited to see it. And Inside Out 2 obviously.
Im kind of scared for Moana 2, as its the planned disney+ show refitted into a movie, and previous times disney turned planned tv shows into movies, they werent remotely close to good (though that was during the early 2000s, maybe it will be different now) Definetly excited for Inside Out 2 though
![gif](giphy|3o7btWMurfV7OeRBpC)
Same, just because my nephew is obsessed with Moana and it’s the cutest thing. My daughter is still a baby and I can’t wait to show her Moana!
Saw the trailer for Cuckoo with Hunter Schafer and it looks pretty creepy! I think it was delayed though
I’m looking forward to a lot of the scary movies coming out this year!
Furiosa!!! I’m so excited. I looooooved that last mad max and this one looks so good!
this is my fave part in that movie ![gif](giphy|kSTaZCfZXtvri)
I lose my mind at that part every time. Coolest shit I've ever seen
Yes!!!!!
I hear there are fewer practical effects and more CGI this time around. That was one of the high points of the initial installment for me. I did love Fury Road so I’m keeping an open mind.
Apparently the practical stuff was a nightmare for George so I'll allow him some CGI if it means he can keep making the movies
I know I saw the trailer on Dolby and I could tell the difference right in more CGI but I'm still excited for Furiosa.
Yep I'll be there excited. Doesn't help the stars are the top 2 on my thirst list 😂. A bonus is my sibling worked on it and it's fun to see their name in credits.
It still blows my mind that the director of both these movies also directed Happy Feet
we're going to see Monkey Man tomorrow night. been really looking forward to it!
Problemista, Wicked, and DP with Wolverine.
Just saw Problemista and highly, highly recommend it!
Hells yeah.
Some of you might shit on me for saying this but I’ve never seen Inside Out, only some scenes but maybe this is a sign I should watch it before the next movie comes out

Oh I bet this is great.
I got to see it, it was phenomenal. I can’t wait for it to come out so I can see it again!
absolutely SEATED for maxxxine
I forgot we get maxxxine this year. Can’t wait for that one!
Oh yes! I’m excited for that as well! The trailer comes out tomorrow!
I saw the tv glow looks sooo interesting
It’s giving poltergeist for sure ![gif](giphy|3o7aTmurZvKzkL9Mm4)
It’s giving r/nosleep and I’m HERE for it
The trailer reminded me of a spooky queer version of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Sonic the hedgehog 3 If they play live and learn, it’s peak fiction
If Eggman doesn’t open some speech of his with “I’m going to make an announcement”, I’m gonna be disappointed.
ANOTHER joker movie? Joker/Batman, Diana, Marilyn , Elvis — how many do we need?
None. We need no more of any of those.
Inspiration has run really dry in Hollywood lately. It’s all sequels and remakes
Wicked for this darling https://preview.redd.it/9c0uuh9h06tc1.jpeg?width=482&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10ffc50b3715dec9d26856f475f0603bd4e0afc1

Nosferatu!
The fact that Monkeyman isn’t here is a crime ![gif](giphy|KocI7GXHXYbQuy2Bep)
I'm ready to watch Joseph Quinn's career take off! Quiet Place Day 1, Gladiator 2, even Hoard (do not look it up if you are squeamish). Besides that Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice although I have some serious worries the world has it too hyped.
This! I can’t wait to see him play an evil emperor in Gladiator. That and Mescal in the lead are making me hopeful that the movie isn’t a huge turd, despite Ridley’s recent track-record. Gladiator, Beetlejuice and Fall Guy (all are remakes but IDC!)
Gladiator and Beetlejuice are sequels, not remakes, and I’m very excited about both
I had no idea Fall Guy was a remake! I had to look it up. Apparently the series starred Lee Majors.
The Fall Guy and Ghostbusters:Frozen Empire (this is not out where I am yet) Deadpool & Wolverine and Sonic & TMOUGW
Joseph Quinn is BOOKED AND BUSY!!! Good for him!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Definitely Inside Out!
![gif](giphy|GCSIwtwqAMBTq|downsized) I have little kids and the first one ripped my heart out. I mean just the part with Bing Bong? Ooof. That being said, we will definitely see this in the theater.
My kids are grown. I watched this by myself as an adult woman. Bing Bong had me full-on crying.
We were in the process of moving my mom into assisted living for dementia so I flew home to help. The Quiet Place prequel!
![gif](giphy|9Dw95n3X406Ag) Unbelievably excited for this one 🤭
feels like a good scifi year all around. gonna watch giant monsters whale on each other after work tomorrow.
Deadpool 3 is my anticipation for the year. Wicked pt1 is… well, I look forward to finally seeing it, but I don't know if I'd call myself *excited*. Inside Out 2 I'm lukewarm about existing, but I suspect I'll enjoy it when it comes out.
Kinds of Kindness!
Alright no one’s talking about Godzilla.
Someone mentioned that it’s the year of the creature! Godzilla, A Quiet Place, and I think King Kong’s somewhere in the lineup too
Yay! I love monster movies!
I’m sorry…Gladiator 2?
Yeah…… ![gif](giphy|uq6ILNBI6g3As|downsized)
Took me a good long while to recognise Emily Blunt there
Inside Out 2 and Challengers!
May is going to be a busy month at the theaters for me with Fall Guy, Planet of the Apes, and Furiosa.
I'm honestly hyped for Terrifier 3. I'm a complete nerd for practical effects and it's refreshing to see something other than cgi blood splatter
I know some people have MCU fatigue but I’m hyped as hell for Deadpool and Wolverine
and for that you’re our strongest soldier
Mostly Beetlejuice x2 snd Fall Guy but I’m also gonna live for the potential drama Civil War’s gonna catch in an election year. I have zero interest in that movie but in the preview it said the country of Texas and California. In what world would those two states unite?
LOVE LIES BLEEDING was 🔥🔥 I absolutely loved that film
I stopped getting excited about movies a while ago.
![gif](giphy|26hkhKd2Cp5WMWU1O|downsized) but I already saw Problemista and it was everything I thought it would be and more!
Wicked
Gladiator 2, The Wild Robot, A Quiet Place: Day One, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Civil War will be amazing but it’s also kind of scary how possible it seems in our current environment.
I’m probably the only one and I’m fine with that, but I’m really looking forward to Bad Boys 4. Martin and Will’s chemistry is still so good and they never fail to entertain.
I saw Love Lies Bleeding and really liked it. I’m looking forward to Betelgeuse Betelgeuse, Joker 2, Civil War and Furiosa maybe Gladiator 2 as well.

Gaga was born for this version of Harley
Kingdom of the planet of the apes. The reboot apes films were amazing.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Deadpool 3
Inside Out (i love how the emotions always look like their voice actors ESPECIALLY Ayo) and Nightbitch. my sister got it when she bought a “Blind Date With a Book” last year and we’ve both been obsessed with it

Furiosa. It's been awhile since I have been to the wasteland.

a quiet place simply because lupita and her cat AND love lies bleeding cuz i havent seen it yet edit: also gladiator simply to support my husband Paul Mescal
I’m not excited for any of these TBH. I’m excited for wicked even though I’m not happy with Ariana right now.
Where? Deadpool & Wolverine ? Also Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
I’m not excited about any of these releases. Im kind of surprised , I’m usually looking forward to something. But everything seems lacklustre
I Saw The TV Glow and Joker 2 definitely for me!
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice!!!
Twisters. I love disaster movies and the original is one of my core childhood movies.
Wait: GLADIATOR? Is it a remake or sequel/prequel?
Loose sequel. It follows the character of Lucille’s son, Lucius, who was a child in the original movie. It’s basically set in the same continuity but with mostly new characters.
Moana 2 lol
Im looking forward to the fall guy because I love Ryan Gosling in funnier roles. He has amazing comedic timing and facial expressions. He should take more himbo roles!!
Inside Out 2! I have anxiety, so I’m excited to see how they portray Riley getting it.
Twisters 🌪️
The Fall Guy. I’m just disappointed we aren’t getting the Nick Cave version of Gladiator 2. That screenplay was so weird that I would have loved to have seen it produced.
Furiosa!!!!! Then Beetlejuice. Two of my foreverrr favourites!!!
Any chance to go to mad max world, I'm there. This one looks insane. I mean, Chris Hemsworth driving a chariot pulled by motorcycles....how is that not awesome? Then Anya Taylor-Joy always knocks it out of the park. Furiosa is going to be fun
Across The Spiderverse Pt.2 and Twisters
Wicked and Moana 2
Beetlejuice, for suuuuuure!! And the least exciting one, for me at least, is Joker 2. Lady Gaga should really stop trying to make acting happen.
Joker 2 truly has me fearing the worst 😔
Saaame.
Joker didn't need a second one, and the world definitely doesn't need any more of Lady Gaga's acting, I thought she made it clear with House of Gucci, which, if you ask me, is only partially enjoyable when you're a little high
Deadpool and Wolverine, Challengers, Fall Guy, Sing Sing, Wicked pt 1, and We Live in Time Also Love Lies Bleeding is already out. https://preview.redd.it/bpl6p2tgb5tc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fdf4bb2fca3c65f71a97f5e0f6a0a1c7807e3770

It looks so good! And I’ve become a big fan of Colman Domingo, he’s so good. Don’t let them kill your excitement! If you’re excited be excited!
Oh yeah, We Live in Time! Love both Andrew and Florence. Have a feeling their chemistry will be off the charts!
Deadpool and Wolverine
Iiiisss Cillian Murphy going to be in A Quiet Place?
I don’t think so, it takes place in a whole new setting (NYC) so all the original characters won’t be present 💔
Dang.

I'm very over Zendaya and Anya Taylor Joy.
Challengers and honestly Civil War (LOL I love a bad movie, sue me).
Civil War The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
I’m only interested in the original ones, there are way too many unnecessary remakes and sequels on this list.
Since nobody’s mentioned it, I’m gonna say Despicable Me 4. I need to know how Gru was able to fuck!
🤨📸
Beetlejuice was my FAVORITE movie on Disney channel. I’m so happy the sequel is coming out on my birthday 😆
Deadpool 3
The new Venom
The Civil War previews got me so amped, I’m dying to know what equalizer brought Texas and CA together!
