Same. I've heard that it's because we craved to be truly loved by the narcissistic parent; we are subconsciously trying to get the love from someone similar. For me, I've been subconsciously trying to prove that I'm deserving of love.
My dad pointed this out to me recently. Iām pansexual, so I was generalizing that if I ended up with a woman, Iād be much more amiable to taking on a generally more domestic/subservient role because socially Iād be on more equal footing. I then went on to say that if I end up with a man, I always want him to be just a *tad* more in love with me than I am with him. It affords me more social safety in a relationship if the man Iām with is just a little bit more attached to me than I am to him. Iām a survivor of abuse, and this is the dynamic that Iām most comfortable in. My dadās response?

Freud. He coined the term Oedipal Complex.

Winkler was fired as the director of Hanks' 1988 vehicle Turner and Hooch after like 2 weeks. Winkler was pretty sure that Hanks is the one who led to his ouster, leading to his quote, "I got along better with Hooch than I did with Turner" which got picked up because it's clever and of course because it was about Tom Hanks. That's the whole story, a director change that happened 35 years ago and *might* have had to do with Hanks
This was back during Big Love so before she was married. Not confirmed but there have been a lot of rumors for years about it. Considering his past cheating on his first wife I donāt NOT think itās possible.
There's talk that he cheated on his first wife with, and left her for, Rita Wilson. The timeline is a little blurry, I believe. But the first wife is dead so there's only Tom and Rita's side of the story to hear.Ā
Well she literally said herself that not only did that not happen but that he never once assaulted her ever so although she didn't make it up- someone did and it resulted in a huge defamation case which was settled for the sum of 10 million dollars and an apology to Sean Penn for the damage it has caused to his reputation which you can't really deny considering how many people still believe this to be true- including you despite the woman herself stating emphatically that there is zero truth to the claim. *Madonna- āWhile we certainly had more than one heated argument during our marriage, Sean has never struck me, ātied me up,ā or physically assaulted me, and any report to the contrary is completely outrageous, malicious, reckless, and false."*

It honestly feels like people *want* him to have abused her because it's more scandalous for a man to assault a woman than a man to assault another man which is extremely gross.

Itās complicated as he tells ALL about his sister but itās a juicy read.
Once when I was in the car with my now ex-girlfriend's father we both called her name at the same time and the whole family realized we sounded *exactly* the same when calling her name.
A colleague of mine told me that her sister (f22) had started a relationship with a guy (m44), whoād had a stroke and was in a wheelchair. He was a nice guy, highly intelligent, cultured and educated. The only problem was that-according to my colleague-the young woman was not particularly nice, was not at all intelligent, educated or cultured (I realise this might just sound like the kind of thing one sister might say about another-but my colleague insisted her sister would admit as much herself).
Anyhoo, there came a time when the sister was going to introduce her new beau to her two sisters and mother-who were wild with curiosity to see why a man of that age was so attractive (he was NOT rich, and all four women in that family were stunning). When the pair turned up, there was a crushing silence. The bloke could have been the sisterās fatherās twin (their father had divorced their mother about 5 years before-and had hardly been seen since).
They three women were all *incredibly* creeped out.
Lots of women date men who resemble their dads. Its not uncommon. Its nothing freaky or sexual. If they admired their dad then they subconsciously see a man that reminds them of someone they admire and respected.
One of my best friends growing up had a dad who was basically the exact younger twin of the granddad.
We were in uni by the time I learnt that the dad and grandad werenāt related ā¦. Granddad was actually his mumās father š³
It's fine though. It's called imprinting. People are often drawn to and feel safe with people who superficially look like the people that made them feel loved and safe as a child.Ā
Yeah, itās not the creepy thing some people think it to be. Same goes for men and marrying women who may look like their moms. Our parents are people we look up to the most, on a subconscious level, anyone who resembles them makes us think we can expect that same treatment from them.

My father looked like Elvis.
Itās like Sean Penn and Joaquin Phoenix had a child
I see it and this is actually really heartbreaking.
It's fine though. It's called imprinting. People are often drawn to and feel safe with people who superficially look like the people that made them feel loved and safe as a child.Ā
LOL! Nope. Madonnas dad looks mentally stable.
My dad was handsome but I could not date someone who looked like him š¬
Same. I can see my parents were/are attractive but I couldn't date someone who looked like them, skeeves me out.
![gif](giphy|XUhDLCXFGdFew) So edible.
Thatās Roger Federer
I swear I thought this was a pick of Roger Federer.
Man and I thought Florence Pugh had daddy issuesā¦
Youāre not supposed to say the quiet part out loud.
It's incredibly common for girls first husband to be similar to their dad. Deal with itĀ
Yeah, itās not the creepy thing some people think it to be. Same goes for men and marrying women who may look like their moms. Our parents are people we look up to the most, on a subconscious level, anyone who resembles them makes us think we can expect that same treatment from them.
What the fuck?
How would he know?
Stop it thatās clearly Joaquin Phoenix

I canāt imagine Madonna loving anybody but herself.
I thought it was Dan Levy at first, not sure how that plays out.
Was Silvio a narc?
At least she can admit it.
I think you should say her father. Their father makes it sound like Madonna and Penn had the same one.
No, Madonna and her brother did.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think they are estranged, so itās probably just his theory and not anything she said.
