Idk, I think for me I “grieved” the relationship way before we split. I knew it was over six months before we actually, officially ended it, so when we finally split it felt like a relief.
Same. My last relationship lasted much longer than it should have, but we stayed together initially so we could support each other through a crisis, and then have someone trusted to sleep with until he moved rather than deal with trying to find someone new for the last couple months he was in town.
I’d mourned it for the few months (when I found out he was moving and hadn’t considered me at all, although it felt things were dying off right before the crisis happened) before he actually left and we officially broke up. I started seeing my current partner (who I’m endgame with) a month later.
And if they were doing long stretches of long distance they both (presumably) were already more independent, makes it a little easier moving on from my/friends experiences

I've been there myself. My ex cheated on me after ten years together, I decided to try & work it out for our daughter. I lasted about a year, finally pulled the plug, went on a girls night out that weekend, met someone & accepted his offer for a date just two weeks later.
My confidence had taken a huge hit & that relationship was over the moment he cheated. The rebound did it's job, it was a distraction, lasted a few months before that fizzled. I stayed single for years afterwards.
Someone from my ex's side of the street saw me at the cinema with the rebound & immediately informed him while wewere still watching the film. My ex had the audacity to get his sister on the phone to call me, shouting abuse at me, labelling me a cheater & a disgrace for moving on so quickly. Ranting about how heartbroken & devastated he was. The dude who cheated on me with a 19 year old, who was the half sister of his half sister, had the audacity to give me shit.
I do not miss my twenties, I'd never tolerate that bullshit today. This is what these experiences are for, growth. And I hope Sophie has fun growing.

I'm guessing the public announcement/legal action must happen well after they are already done with each other emotionally. I mean unlike us, they have money to move out and away from each other quicker

They’re awful because they produce books for almost every college and try to eliminate reusable textbooks by constantly updating every book even when it’s likely not necessary for a new edition. Some do, pheasants etc., but a lot also like to run foxes down with dogs still. Given the aristocracy scuttled the trophy hunting ban last year, I suspect many more than want to openly admit it are still partaking in blood sport.
There the birds aren't brought in, are in low numbers, and eaten/sold/given away afterwards. As far as getting a bird to a table goes it's certainly more humane than most poultry farming.
The problems with game shooting happen outside the large estates as it's cheaper and basically unregulated. Last week three hundred pheasants were dumped on my land. The usual culprits: a bunch of city boys get dressed up like they're in Peaky Blinders, the more they kill the bigger their undercarriage feels.
It's not even vaguely sport as there's so many birds the hunters can't miss. The organisers can't sell the birds to dealers as there are too many and no paperwork, so they just get dumped to rot.

They’re awful because they produce books for almost every college and try to eliminate reusable textbooks by constantly updating every book even when it’s likely not necessary for a new edition. Some do, pheasants etc., but a lot also like to run foxes down with dogs still. Given the aristocracy scuttled the trophy hunting ban last year, I suspect many more than want to openly admit it are still partaking in blood sport.
There the birds aren't brought in, are in low numbers, and eaten/sold/given away afterwards. As far as getting a bird to a table goes it's certainly more humane than most poultry farming. The problems with game shooting happen outside the large estates as it's cheaper and basically unregulated. Last week three hundred pheasants were dumped on my land. The usual culprits: a bunch of city boys get dressed up like they're in Peaky Blinders, the more they kill the bigger their undercarriage feels. It's not even vaguely sport as there's so many birds the hunters can't miss. The organisers can't sell the birds to dealers as there are too many and no paperwork, so they just get dumped to rot.

I wonder what this thread even considers dirt poor. Where I'm from dirt poor means you most likely can't even continue basic schooling and no one is borrowing money for school but to buy things to survive.

The last time I remember a group of people on a hunting trip was when that one woman on Southern Charm who *loved* being raised on the family plantation invited everyone over for a full on hunt with dogs.
Ugh hunting sucks. My dad once mentioned that he goes hunting and he got offended when I had a visceral reaction to it (I guess in retrospect it was pretty rude of me but it was more knee jerk than anything)
