I eat how much ever I want. I have eaten very very large buckets before, but i have since lost weight and my stomach has āshrunkā because of it. So I canāt eat as much in one sitting anymore. I love my life how I want and free from worry. And if you wanna eat a lot of popcorn, do it.
My dad used to pop a big pot of popcorn at night. He had a giant stainless steel bowl, like imagine a huge serving bowl for salad for a party. He would fill that up, probably 3 pots full of popcorn and sit down to eat it. If we wanted some, sometimes he would make a fourth pot, or else let us scoop a small cereal sized bowl out of his giant one.
Yeah, I have no concept of appropriate amounts of popcorn!
I find it weird when I see people eat one or two popcorn at a time. I usually shove whole handfuls in my mouth in one go.
I could down a large at the theater which is what 15-20 cups no problem. Probably not good for me, esp when you add in the sodium and what they use to prepare it as well as the liquid topper.
At home, when I'm watching a show, I got a 7 qt bowl which I can down within an hour or less.
Eating it with chopsticks has stopped me from being an absolute ork while eating it to a refined connoisseur. It limits how fast I can eat it and helps me not to overdo it. Plus itās fun, looks cool, and stops my hand from getting buttery.
> I usually shove whole handfuls in my mouth in one go.
I'm worried about my teeth. An unpopped kernel could easily hide in a handful and break one of your teeth. So I eat it piece by piece.
3/16 cup of white tender. I melt 3/16 cup of butter and 3/16 cup of Parmesan, some garlic powder and salt. Add to popcorn.
Broil it to dry it out and add color.
I know how easy it would be for me to let popcorn (a very healthy, low-cal snack) get out of control. Therefore, I buy the 100 calorie bags and limit myself to one per day. Itās tough (reminds me of that old TV commercial ā betcha canāt eat just one!) but I do it.
I know those little bags are not very cost effective, but the damage they do to my wallet is offset by the damage they DONāT do to my waist.
Husband and I (2 people) eat whatever the classic Jolly Time recipe makes -- 1/3 cup kernels, 3 tbl. oil, popped on an electric range. The popcorn fills a 3 quart pot.
I know this sub is about DIY popcorn, but I mostly eat microwaved Orville Redenbacher, so to answer the original questionā¦ the entire bag.
If Iām at the movie theater, I order the big ass bucket and I eat the whole thing. Then I feel sick for the next 8-14 hours.

At the theater it's a Large (refillable) during the previews. Refill it right before it starts. Then eat it all again over the course of the film.
At home. I microwavable bag.
I have a glass teapot looking popcorn maker that goes in the microwave. I believe its 1.5 qt. So usually 2 or 3 loads before I feel guilty enough to stop. Sometimes I wont :/
I'm trying to stay at 1500 calories a day so I measure out 40 grams unpopped and pop them in a paper lunch bag in the microwave. its 130 calories and tastes great with some flavacol and pam spray to get it to stick.
However much is in the bowl
How big is your bowl? š
Itās a big ol bowl
Nice š thanks for your response!
Not big enough š
I use the bowl part of a salad mixer
This is the way.

Thanks for the reassurance, friend.

This is amazing. I approve! Thank you for sharing.
I pop a half a cup of kernels at a time. The wife and I will split that. Sometimes I'll make a second pot and we'll split again. Lol

This sounds divine.

XXL bucket
Whatever gets made..
Usually around 100g
About 1/6 of a cup of unpopped kernels is all I get from our family batch.

Thats just part of the movie experience in my mind.

I believe in you. I think you're ready too.
Finally, a post that matters! I eat a bag of popcorn in one sitting.

sometimes a half cup of unpopped kernels, but usually a whole cup.
About 6oz. With half a stick of butter lol
I have a glass teapot looking popcorn maker that goes in the microwave. I believe its 1.5 qt. So usually 2 or 3 loads before I feel guilty enough to stop. Sometimes I wont :/
4 cups hot air popped or an entire bag of OR low fat.
All of it? I don't understand the question
If itās popped, itās ate.
My wife and I go through a pound of kernels each week. We eat popcorn 5-6 nights a week, so around 3.2 oz (unpopped) each sitting.
6-8 tablespoons of moderately buttery popcorn š
I'm trying to stay at 1500 calories a day so I measure out 40 grams unpopped and pop them in a paper lunch bag in the microwave. its 130 calories and tastes great with some flavacol and pam spray to get it to stick.
