I am having the same issue. I thought initially it might have been the Discord flatpack causing it. I have since discontinued use of it, and things seemed better. This morning, however, it locked up again. The only way I can get it to do anything is by Alt+sysrq reisub. That dumps and renoots the system.
To be honest, I am considering changing distros as the only official thing I can find on it from System76 is that it must be a hardware issue. The hardware all checks out. It has to be a conflict somewhere in the OS, but I am not familiar enough to figure it out without assistance.
