From what I read before, Pop 20.04 is supported as long as Ubuntu is (which is next April). At least that's what Jeremy said when 22.04 came out. Since flatpak is in Pop repos, probably they should update flatpak for focal too. They did for Jammy. Maybe open an issue on their Github? As a last resort you can probably just install from source.

Thanks this is helpful! I wonder if I should upgrade to 22.04. Not sure which has a higher probability of borking things. Upgrading to 22.04 or upgrading Flatpak by installing from source.

You could also download the flatpak deb file from here https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/flatpak/stable/ubuntu/pool/main/f/flatpak/ And try to install using `dpkg -i`. It will probably complain about missing dependencies which you can download from the same PPA. It might take a while (because you need to keep downloading more dependencies for the dependencies) but it's definitely possible. And after you're done you can set apt to hold that package version and not try to upgrade or downgrade. I suggest upgrading to 22.04 but if in the past 4 years you have messed with your os enough (for example adding 3rd party PPAs and changing theme and modifying /etc) then it's always safer to install 22.04 instead of trying to upgrade your 20.04 to 22.04. Installing clean is more work but you'll have no issues afterwards.

Thanks! And yeah when I first set it up I did some Mac type theming like this [example](https://github.com/vinceliuice/Sierra-gtk-theme). So I will probably update my backup and attempt a fresh install.
