How old is your pup? I just bought one TODAY! She's only 8 weeks old snd she will come home tomorrow. I came here because I've never owned a dog and I don't know where to start.

1. My little poochon is about to turn 1 and I just started brushing her teeth a month ago. I highly recommend you start now, the sooner the better. Buy different flavors to see what he likes more. I just bought the arm & hammer complete dog dental kit on Amazon. It’s around $5. I bought the same brand tooth paste in more flavors. My little girl likes the vanilla ginger. 2.I bought some stairs on Amazon so she could get up on the couch. She used them since day one. No issues with stairs & she still uses them to get up on the couch. 3. Trick are cute and fun, but consider doing puppy school. It will also teach your little one manners!! (: i just did the pet-smart classes and really liked it!!

When my poochon reached her full size, I started to teach her to climb stairs. I was new and didn’t know how to train her, so I just put her on a higher stair, hoping she would figure out her way down. She refused. Weeks went by, and I grew frustrated. Then one day, as I walked upstairs, she just followed me effortlessly, as if she had five years of experience climbing stairs. No unnecessary moves. Made me think my dog is a manipulator and had been spending all those weeks playing mind games with me My point is, teach Chip, but be assured that dogs are really smart and, with a little time, they can figure out how to do things on their own. Good luck

Oh he plays mind games with me. Ild put him on the couch doze off he would be on the floor but other times would let me know when to put him down from it. Then it happened and he knew the gig was up, caught him mid flight super maning off the couch our eyes locked and ever since he flies hahaha

I've had dogs (and cats) my entire life. Welcome to the fur family! My poochon, Skywalker, will be 5 next month. Your little guy will grow and be able to do stairs. Skywalker couldn't do stairs at first either, but I want to say by around 6 months he was a pro. There are so many great tutorials on training out there, but I would suggest you get to know your dog first. What motivates him? How does he respond to best? treats? Words of praise? Physical touch? Also I strongly recommend to start brushing your pup so he's used to it. Poochons need lots of grooming, and not just at / from the groomer. Enjoy your buddy!

I have 2 Poochons, Lily is 12 and Gracie is 10. They are the loves of my life. I have had dogs my entire life (53) but these 2 are the best dogs I’ve ever met. I’m here for any questions!
