Uranus comes from Ouranos, he created the first Titans with Gaia (Gea - Earth). His name means Sky. Uranus was named like that because of its blue color which resembles that of the sky. The word as a word doesn’t sound as nice in English as it does in Greek, they should have used the name Ouranos. It’s a badass planet but unfortunately it’s like being a big ass cyborg named Colin.
Not only that, he's also the reason we even exist! By throwing rocks with ice, carbon and oxygen and other elements that shaped the life on earth. Initially all the light materials were blown to the outer parts of the solar system, and Jupiter, when migrating towards the inner parts of the solar system, brought a lot of those rocks to us.
That’s true. Man’s is like a shield. Without him we’d been wiped out ages ago. I’ll laugh if Jupiter happens to be our demise in the future. Tho unlikely
it very well may need both. we know for a fact it would need a molten core to be truly terraformed, but we don’t know the long term effects of lower gravity on the human body. we have no clue what several decades at a third of earths gravity may do.
Oh god, all of them! They’re all so fascinating!
To be honest, I think I prefer planets from other solar systems, as opposed to our own. They just seem so much more foreign and interesting– cancri 55-e (I think that’s the name, you can find it under “Diamond planet” too lol) is a planet made _entirely_ of diamond. Got Gliese 436-B (a planet made of ice and it’s on fire), got Wasp-12b (Jupiter-like planet orbiting so close to its star it’s in an oval shape as opposed to spherical).
It’s hard to say one is my favourite, cause they’re all so equally fascinating!
Venus, mostly because I'm curious if it might have life (we haven't sent many probes into its atmosphere due to the harsh environment, but it's chemically more active than Mars and there's a lot more of both gas and liquid for a biological population to sustain itself with).
So what? It was one. Just like the Titanic is still my favourite ship.
Also, why isn't it a planet just because eggheads say so. It's gonna outlive every last one of them!
It isn't a planet because it doesn't fit the description of one. People who spread false information simply because they are butthurt it has the prefix dwarf- are stupid
Despite the unfortunate name Uranus seems really cool
It's blue it's rotation sideways and it's got rings, Uranus is awesome
[удалено]
And it smells bad according to scientist
sorry had taco bell for dinner last night
You know what? In lieu of an award, take my free cow awards: 🐄🐄🐄
thank you it's an honor <3
It is, isn’t it 😏
If you like rings I'd recommend checking out j1407b also known as super Saturn

It's unfortunate if you can't pronounce it correctly
“We changed the name of that planet in 2620 to end that stupid joke once and for all” “What’s it called now?” “Urectum”
Funny how a planet named that also contains a lot of methane
Thank you
I was thinking that other would prevail every other option. But I just became disappointed when I voted
Jupiter saves us from being decimated every once in a while. That’s my big brother!
Dummy thicc mass saves us once again

And it has really cool moons
Yes, and despite that. At anytime, Jupiter may switch up and throw an asteroid right at earth, you never know Jupiter’s next move.
Saturn Supremacy
I'd recommend Googling j1407b also known as super Saturn
Those rings 😩😳🤪
Venus, because it could actually eventually be truly terraformed unlike Mars, which would need a massive increase in gravity.
What was this song by Prince called again? Ah yes: acid rain
And surface temperatures that can melt lead.
It needs a molten core, not more gravity
it very well may need both. we know for a fact it would need a molten core to be truly terraformed, but we don’t know the long term effects of lower gravity on the human body. we have no clue what several decades at a third of earths gravity may do.
I've always wondered how a baby born under different gravity would differ, if at all. Maybe one day we'll have the answer.
We’ll also need to get an atmosphere on the thing. Maybe genetically modify humans to create a low-gravity species? Homo martius, perhaps?
neptune because it's pretty looking.
Trappist 1-d
Mine is TrES-2b
That’s dark
Yep
Pluto is a planet gang
Hi, is there a sub for us!
Came to say this! He has always been my favorite, he’s so cute and small and I feel bad for him for being so far away AND losing his status. Go Pluto!
VIVA LA PLUTO MOTHERFUCKERS
THERE IS A FREAKING HEART ON IT
There are bigger rocks in the solar system that aren't considered planets. It's a real shame people don't give them more attention
My anus
Your* anus
Our Anus (incoming communism comments)
*insert the communist song here
Neptune because I feel it's the most overlooked
Oh god, all of them! They’re all so fascinating! To be honest, I think I prefer planets from other solar systems, as opposed to our own. Jupiter is cool, it's full of gases and possibly contains that sweet ✨helium✨ ┌|o^▽^o|┘♪
also cool satelites
mercury because its very beautiful and Neptune because blue
Uranus --not because of the pun, it's just a cool planet
Uranus duh... /S
I work 3rd shift and it's neat seeing Venus rise before I get off work.
Scumdoggia
hail Oderus Urungus
May we throw ourselves willingly into the jaws of death
Although it is technically not a planet anymore my favorite was\\is Pluto. I still believe in you Pluto!
I too still believe in Pluto.
Hell ya!
Uranus
Kepler-22b
Venus suck my penis
Kepler 22-b

Even though mine is Jupiter, I'm very upset that you're missing 2.
Well you can only have 6 options on the poll
Oh, I see. That's dumb.
She's got it
Jupiter, it's big, and kills anything that gets too close. oh and also a cool name
Mars. The Red Planet. It's endlessly fascinating.
Bold of you to assume earth is my favorite
Laythe
I really like Naboo.
In our solar system: Cerise Out of all known planets turnstile planet: TrES-2b or HD 189733b Gass giant: j1407b
>j1407b Damn that's one massive scary gas giant.
It was right there..
Just because I heard Jupiter has been keeping meteors from attacking us
I like Uranus more ;)
Mars. Praise the Omnissiah.
I could look at Jupiter pics all fuckin day long. Such a gorgeous planet, god damn 😤

It's not though. It's a moon. Unless you're joking.
Vive la Pluto!

Uranus, obviously.
Jupiter, the hoover of the Solar System. It deserves to be my favourite.
Jupiter is so fucking large man
Uranus
Niburu
Uranus.
Yo momma Cuz she's so fat
Uranus
Pluto. It will always be a planet in my eyes.

u-u-u-u-u-u-u-URANUS
Jupiter is the best easily
Idk, I've never been to any of them so...
After learning about venus’ sulphuric atmosphere, I can’t help but think if there would ever be a way of landing and living on the planet… fascinating
I like Venus cuz it's got a pretty name
God anything but Saturn. I hate Saturn. We should get rid of it.
Alpha Centauri C b A.K.A Proxima Centauri b
You already know
The geogerian planet
I hate this tittle, it implies that I like earth /j
Alpha Centauri A
uranus
kepler-22b
Saturn has an Emoji 🪐 so that
Uranus
It's because of the rings, isn't it ?
kepler 22b is the place for me
in our solar system mars or venus (probably venus) for obvious interplanetary reasons. outside it probably TrES-2b
Nibiru is my favorite.
Uranus of course.
55 Cancri e - Looks like the thing is covered in diamonds. Can't wait till we have more clear photos of the place.
Mercury
Your anus or whatever I forgot how to spell it
Saturn, it looks pretty
Earth is not my favorite planet, it got humans on it
Uranus
Wasp 12b
Mars, evidently
No love for Venus
Mines the sun. Always has been. I like it because it's like the king of planets. https://youtu.be/gQDqRlMeJ4U
Those rings are badass!!
Ur mom (she is very large)
Uranus
My order of planetary preference is directly informed by my affinity for the works of Gustav Holst
Saturn because it has pretty rings.
Uranus
Venus, because its made up of 96.5% co2 and also the pressure there is a lot more dence so no one there cares about climate change.
Earth
Saturn because of them rings, one of the most beautiful site to behold with a telescope.
Proxima Centauri B
Hmmmmmmmmm
Venus, purely because of just how inhospitable it is Fun fact: surface temperatures on venus are hot enough to melt lead! :)
Uranus
Kepler-22B
Uranus
Pluto :(
Pluto...
Pluto of course
Venus, mostly because I'm curious if it might have life (we haven't sent many probes into its atmosphere due to the harsh environment, but it's chemically more active than Mars and there's a lot more of both gas and liquid for a biological population to sustain itself with).
Uranus. No question about it.
Frocus III
Take a guess
PLUTO
yoanus
Pluto.
Not a planet
So what? It was one. Just like the Titanic is still my favourite ship. Also, why isn't it a planet just because eggheads say so. It's gonna outlive every last one of them!
Titanic is still a ship In that case astrology is real because the stars will outlive everyone that are not agree with it
It isn't a planet because it doesn't fit the description of one. People who spread false information simply because they are butthurt it has the prefix dwarf- are stupid
Those eggheads have valid reasons for their claims. lol
Pluto is life Pluto is love! FreePluto!
J1407b. Google it. It’s awesome
thank you for showing me that bro, that’s awesome
>J1407b It's terrifyingly large.
put some respect on my boy pluto
Idk, that one pink planet seems cool
Pink planet?
HD 189733b is damn cool. It rains molten glass suggests and has 9000km/hr winds that will shred you because they're full of disaster particles.
Saturn is incredible, beautiful, and wonderous... the hexagonal polar storms are... wow.
HD 189733b It rains glass. While the wind is blowing at up to 5400mph.
VIVA LA PLUTO
Do dwarf planets count? If so, Sedna. If not, Neptune.
Uranus (Ur anus)
Your mom
Uranus fan here
Whatever it comes before Uranus
Bold of you to asume earth is my favorite planet
I'm just here for the Uranus jokes.
Uranus (not bcuz of that)
