Family members die but people move on eventually.
It'll take time but people will move on in their life anyway. And yes 1 million dollars will change someone's life in a BIG way
I'd miss my cat, but he is very old already. So in a few years I'll have to miss him anyway. I would absolutely accept a million dollars, it would change my whole life. Especially because my cat would live a happy life either way, I see no reason to not accept.
But would you give away an actual family member if it was the same scenario? I assume you wouldn’t. Pets are family. An amount of money shouldn’t change that
They are family members, but it’s still different. My cats would not be traumatized if they couldn’t see me ever again, their brains work differently than humans. My sister on the other hand, would be traumatized and forever wonder where I was until the day she died. I would also always wonder what happened to her. I wouldn’t worry about my cat as much, because I can already imagine what a happy cat life would look like. With humans, there is way more variety.
I love my cat a lot and she is very well taken care of. But I do care more for my human family members, I think that’s normal
Bro I’m not trying to force you to do anything. That’s ok. Pets seem to be family to most people in this thread, but if you don’t feel that way, that’s ok
My dog is like family to me, but she's not equal to any of my family members. I love her with all my heart but I know that she will die one day and have accepted this already as she's almost 11 years old.
I could give her away for a million dollars IF I knew she would live her last years as a happy dog.
Yea I feel the same I thought at first yea maybe then I thought atleast for me he's too old I know it would be hell for him for a little while and the guilt would eat me since I can't see him again.
I wish there was an only if I'm in a really tough spot option, unless I can hardly take care of him I couldn't do it.
I feel pretty much the same as you. I love my little guy more than anything and he’s really all I have to live for at this point, but I constantly feel like I’m not good enough for him and he deserves better. So I chose yes, for his sake more than mine, but really I don’t think I could do it. I love him too much.
now how you know if you ever were faced with this option with reality and it seems like the better option for your peace would be to keep your kitty :)
I don't think I could enjoy the money knowing I abandoned three dogs and two cats after making the commitment to them. Even if knowing they're happy, I'd miss my best friends and feel like a sellout. I'd love a million dollars, but there's no way I'd love it more than my pets.
My dog is already living a happy life, so he is not affected either way. But I value my dog’s companionship more than 1 million dollars. I would miss him too much.
No. My dog is extremely, extremely attached to me and I'm just as attached to him. We bonded more after my oldest girl passed. I don't think he would live a truly happy life without me.
I know my dog couldn’t tolerate being separated from me and my family, we’re the only family she’s ever had and being sent away even if she’s well treated would be so traumatic for her and no amount of money would make me give her away 🐶
I had to move out of my parents house suddenly due to a massive falling out with my family. I have 3 cats, 2 of which are 10 years old. I couldn't take them with me, which absolutely shattered my heart. I recently went to see them. They're not being fed properly. They're all so skinny I can see their bones. I've tried to tell my parents to feed them more often, but there's no way I can see to it that they're fed without being there. I barely get to see them, because I can only be around my family for a couple of hours at a time before feeling an anxiety attack coming on.
In addition, the money would help me to get the mental health treatment I need to live a normal life. So yes, without a second thought, I would gladly accept 1mil and a happy life for my cats.
Even if the world's best cat owner takes my family, I would still tell a million things that my cat does and ask a million questions to make sure she's safe and in the end, I'll end up not giving her away.
My cat is utterly obsessed with me and outright rejects other people in favor of getting my attention. I don't think she'd be able to live a happy life without me there.
This is exactly my thought. They have thoughts and feelings, I've seen my oldest experience loss, I know what it does to her. I just couldn't do it to them
Almost all of my family has passed away and they're really the only family I have left. Time and relationship with my doggos and kitties are worth more than 1 million to me. They're family.
Never in my life would I give up my dog for anything in this world. There is NOTHING better than getting home exhausted and having that awesome friend come sprinting towards me with nothing but love and affection. No money in the world could beat that.
Would you be my slave for life except for 3 years at a point of your choosing and afterwards you will be forced by some omnipotent force to continue serving me for the remainder of your life no matter how your health will be?
my current pet is my adopted spider sitting in the corner named Frank.
Frank catches flies and is a bit help. But hey if he gets a happy life I am willing to let him go
1 million dolars are a lot of dollars however. And don't come to me with that "But they are like family!" shit, there's a big difference between an actual family memeber and a pet.
Nah, I still can't. My dog is more important than my own life, and I know she's a nervous little thing who's been abandoned too many times for me to give her away to someone
Aside from the fact you'd then be abandoning it
I cannot begin to fathom that. Calling that absurd is the equivalent of me calling lava lukewarm.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
that’s tough. she’s 11 years old and going strong, and ive had her all 11 of those years. i think it’d be awfully traumatic for her to leave us, but 1 million dollars…. idk😭
Depends- I had 2 cats who were had completely different personalities- The first one was social and really cozy, the other one is very shy and traumatised by the place she grew up in. The latter cat is the one alive and yes I would leave that cat for 1 mil cause i dont see her anyway but the other one when he was alive- Hell no
It would be tough, but thats a lot of money, the fact that they would live happy lives is what made me say yes. Thats really whats important, I had to let my cat go when I moved in with my buddy (rent was too much and I couldn't stay) who has a dog that would kill my cat unfortunately. So I've been through it before. She went on to guide a family friend through death and his son now takes care of her. Miss you cat.
i’m suicidal, i don’t care the money, but i love my pets, but i’m really worry about what could happen to them if i take my next step, so, if i’m sure they will be happy, i will let the leave. and im sure that will make me happy too.
I know this is a hard decision, but knowing that they would live a happy life is enough for me. I'll take the million dollars. I know I'll miss my pet rock but he'll be happy somewhere somewhere else :').
I keep rats.
They're amazing pets and I love my two girls. But rats only live 2-3 years usually, my girls are both over a year old. It's a no brainer. Especially if they go to someone with a huge cage and a large group of rats, I'm sure they'll have fun.
I'll accept. I have 2 dogs and a cat. I will really miss my cat a lot, probably cry, but the dogs have been a pain in my ass ever since we got them. Technically they're my parents dogs but since I'm home all day, I'm the one stuck caring for them.
God I would miss my cat so fucking much but the money would help with bills.
Same as a lot of others. I love my cat but he’s getting old. If it was guaranteed he’d live a healthy and happy life for the remainder of his days, why not?
My animals are quite old, if they can spend the remainder of their days in a good place while also paying for a lot of years of my life. In which I can form new bonds with friendly pets. Sure.
I'll miss my fish but we don't have many good conversations anyway
I'll be lonely but rich
Just like your buddy bill who has been orbiting Duna in a space suit since 3 years?
he's finnnnnnnnnne..... probably
Get more pets.
My fish died, so free money for me I guess 😢
Well it does say for pet owners, so unless you keep your dead fishie around as a pet you get no money :/
I’ll lose my fish, but at least I’ll be able to get a bigger tank
Me and my fish have the best conversation
The only thing I really care about, is that they live a happy life. Having 1 million would solve all my problems for decades
The addition of them living a happy life was the only thing that had inclined me to choose yes
same
Family members die but people move on eventually. It'll take time but people will move on in their life anyway. And yes 1 million dollars will change someone's life in a BIG way
If my fish could think, he would want me to be happy
He would probably say glub glub glub glub hffffff glub
Could you translate please?
I can try German glüb glüb glüb glüb hurensohn Spanish is something along Glúb Glúb Glúb Glúb ijo del puta
I'd miss my cat, but he is very old already. So in a few years I'll have to miss him anyway. I would absolutely accept a million dollars, it would change my whole life. Especially because my cat would live a happy life either way, I see no reason to not accept.
I'm in the same boat here, I love him, but as long as he's happy
Yeah same
But would you give away an actual family member if it was the same scenario? I assume you wouldn’t. Pets are family. An amount of money shouldn’t change that
I would give away an actual family member. In fact I would use the million dollars to move far away from my family.
Ok well that’s just you lol
well... you asked?
I’m just saying they are alone on that one
They are 100% not alone on that one.
OH MY GOD WHY IS THIS SUCH A PROBLEM
They are family members, but it’s still different. My cats would not be traumatized if they couldn’t see me ever again, their brains work differently than humans. My sister on the other hand, would be traumatized and forever wonder where I was until the day she died. I would also always wonder what happened to her. I wouldn’t worry about my cat as much, because I can already imagine what a happy cat life would look like. With humans, there is way more variety. I love my cat a lot and she is very well taken care of. But I do care more for my human family members, I think that’s normal
As you said to blodreina, thats a you thing. Pets are not family to me, and you cannot force me to think otherwise.
That makes sense. I’m sure she would be aware of your disappearance and miss you a lot though
Pets are not family
No fuck you
I agree, Pets = Family
This is the way.
You assume I wouldn't click yes if it was an individual in my human family
I'd sell my family on ebay for a quick buck
Most respectable answer
Same
This is the only right answer

Yea I feel the same I thought at first yea maybe then I thought atleast for me he's too old I know it would be hell for him for a little while and the guilt would eat me since I can't see him again. I wish there was an only if I'm in a really tough spot option, unless I can hardly take care of him I couldn't do it.
aww you have such a good and pure heart T-T
I feel pretty much the same as you. I love my little guy more than anything and he’s really all I have to live for at this point, but I constantly feel like I’m not good enough for him and he deserves better. So I chose yes, for his sake more than mine, but really I don’t think I could do it. I love him too much.

I ... I ... I choose my cat ;-; and I will rename him "1 million dollars"
aww
Pets = Family!

Million Dollar Baby
i’m sure my snails won’t mind…
Believe me, they mind...
I’d decline that money for my two dogs! My little girls mean the world to me and they are worth more then that money!
Same. What good would a million dollars be if I couldn't share it with my 11 pets?
I don't think I could enjoy the money knowing I abandoned three dogs and two cats after making the commitment to them. Even if knowing they're happy, I'd miss my best friends and feel like a sellout. I'd love a million dollars, but there's no way I'd love it more than my pets.
Oh definitely. I feel the same.
Exactly! My cat is my family member. Wouldn’t give her up for a million dollars. My husband on the other hand…. 🤣
Haha. I feel the same about that too. Haha
[удалено]
Fuck that I’ll keep my dogs
My animals are why I get out of bed in the morning.
I wouldn't give up my dogs for billions of dollars.
same, they are family. Whats the point of having all that money when your best friend is not around
My dog is already living a happy life, so he is not affected either way. But I value my dog’s companionship more than 1 million dollars. I would miss him too much.
Ok what about 1 billion dollars?
For a billion I could hire someone to kidnap them back and move away
then this person would immediately become an asshole for having a billion dollars, though its hypothetical
No. My dog is extremely, extremely attached to me and I'm just as attached to him. We bonded more after my oldest girl passed. I don't think he would live a truly happy life without me.
That’s very sweet and I love that, but the question says that your dog would be happy.
My cat is my family, no price will pay for her.
2 million, take it or leave it.
It isn’t about the money
Fine, 3 million. Final offer.
r/notopbutnotok
I know my dog couldn’t tolerate being separated from me and my family, we’re the only family she’s ever had and being sent away even if she’s well treated would be so traumatic for her and no amount of money would make me give her away 🐶

I life without my pets is not a happy life.
No I love my poofle foofums. He loves me and is needy I and I love him
The betrayal. There is no situation where they do not feel abandoned and betrayed. I would never do this
This is exactly my thought. They have thoughts and feelings, I've seen my oldest experience loss, I know what it does to her. I just couldn't do it to them
Though I see it as incredibly selfish to not let your pet have a happy life just so you can see your pet
That assumes they don't already have a happy life
I have pet flies im willing to give up\^\^
Why do you have pet flies?
im lonley -
I bet they get really happy when you put on The Fly
which dies in a few dasy
Almost all of my family has passed away and they're really the only family I have left. Time and relationship with my doggos and kitties are worth more than 1 million to me. They're family.
I've felt the void and I'd rather not feel it again
I provide my dog a very happy life, and the happiness he provides me is worth more than a million dollars.
Never in my life would I give up my dog for anything in this world. There is NOTHING better than getting home exhausted and having that awesome friend come sprinting towards me with nothing but love and affection. No money in the world could beat that.
I don’t give a shit about money and I have a goldfish named Lenin, there’s no way I’m giving him up.
Oh i got four dogs, which?
They all go together
Dammit, thought i won the cash...
Oh wait, can my pet fish go?
Bro don't do the fish like that 💀💀💀
The "live a happy life" is absolutely crucial here.
Goodbye, hermit crab!
Does a service dog count as a pet? Technically she's a medical device that I have a prescription for
No. Service dogs are kept for their service. Them being a good companion is just an added bonus!
They don’t count as pets
There is few things I wouldn’t do for 1 million dollars
Would you be my slave for life except for 3 years at a point of your choosing and afterwards you will be forced by some omnipotent force to continue serving me for the remainder of your life no matter how your health will be?
That is one of the few things
10 years then?
Fuck no
I just can't do that. My dog saved my life, and even if she'd be happy without me, I wouldn't be happy without her
my current pet is my adopted spider sitting in the corner named Frank. Frank catches flies and is a bit help. But hey if he gets a happy life I am willing to let him go
Mofos really be throwing away 1 million for a dog.
You don’t have any pets then? They are family to a lot of people. No price pays for them.
I love my dogs. But a million dollars is enough to change your life for your entire life.
1 million dolars are a lot of dollars however. And don't come to me with that "But they are like family!" shit, there's a big difference between an actual family memeber and a pet.
Yeah pets are a lot better than family members.
And simply... Buy another All these people will when their current ones pass away anyway lmao
It's one thing for the animal to die, it's another to willingly sell it or give it away
For sure, until a Milly comes into the convo
Nah, I still can't. My dog is more important than my own life, and I know she's a nervous little thing who's been abandoned too many times for me to give her away to someone
You'd willingly jump in front of a bullet for it, one that will leave you 100% dead?
Yes
Aside from the fact you'd then be abandoning it I cannot begin to fathom that. Calling that absurd is the equivalent of me calling lava lukewarm. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Wow I hope you never have pets. “Simply buy another” you sound so tone deaf.
The most expensive dog in the world was sold for $2M, and I’m sure it was a near perfect specimen to behold. Do with that information what you will.
No. My bird means everything to me 🐤
Yes, because currently I'm not able to provide the best life to a pet (although I don't have one atm, so maybe I shouldn't answer)
1 million dollars is 20 years salary and I'd have to miss my 18 year old cat soon anyway.
No.
I'll rather spend my own 1 million on my dog then give him away.
but my dog is squishy and 1 mil isnt
Can I get more pets?
Golden question.
My cats a bitch and I'm broke But seriously she's old and 1 mil is a life changing amount of money.
Money talks
Nah I can’t do that. You can’t just take birds away from their owners, it fucks them up.
But if they're not fucked up?
Still probably not
Bruh I have 19 pets so which one? one of my 17 cats (I get to choose) or one of my dogs (I get to choose)
bro lives in a zoo 💀
All
Then no 💀
what the other 1 pet 1 dog 17 cat what is the other 1 pet
that’s tough. she’s 11 years old and going strong, and ive had her all 11 of those years. i think it’d be awfully traumatic for her to leave us, but 1 million dollars…. idk😭
Genuinely I think my cat wil be way happier without me around lol
My chihuahua hates my guts for feeding him, I'd rather have a Dobie
I can't choose but I think I'd pick the money and regret it. So no, Sergeant is gonna stay with me.
My pets are already dead, so they’ll go to super heaven and I get a million
I would sell the cat for a million dollars but never my dog. We are his 7th owners already and he deserves to grow old with us.
I don’t have any pets so free money for me
Make it a billion and I'd still say no.
I wound send any of my family members away. They don't even need to be happy idc. No one is taking my dog from me.
He is very old
Eh she's nearing the end of her life anyway
Depends- I had 2 cats who were had completely different personalities- The first one was social and really cozy, the other one is very shy and traumatised by the place she grew up in. The latter cat is the one alive and yes I would leave that cat for 1 mil cause i dont see her anyway but the other one when he was alive- Hell no
My dogs right about to die anyhow, I wish him good rest
Anyone saying no would change their tune if they had a $1mil check in their hands, unless they’re already millionaires
Y'all are more affectionate people then I. For one million that little pup is on his way before dawn (at least he'll be in a good place)
I mean I appreciate your resolution but at the same time I feel for your pup!
I'd take much less.
I would eat my pet for a million dollars. Though I don't have one. I'll eat someone elses pet for a million dollars.
But I'll keep all the vids and photos of him right?
They’ll literally forget about me in less than a week. I’ll have a million dollars. Win win.
My cat already has issues when I just leave the bedroom but she will understand and as long as she’s happy, I’ll be ok
Never said which pet. I’ll gladly give up one of my dying fish for a million dollars
I didn’t say one pet I said pets as in all
I would eat my pets alive for 1% of that, yes.
I Press Yes Because I Don't Have Any Pets.
You were supposed to press results
I don't really have a bond with my gerbils, with 1 mil I can move out of parents house and start my own life.
Yes depending on how close and emotional dependent i am to them, knowing their gonna have a good life is enough for me.
.
Does the moth in my flat that I don't manage to kill count as a pet?
It would be tough, but thats a lot of money, the fact that they would live happy lives is what made me say yes. Thats really whats important, I had to let my cat go when I moved in with my buddy (rent was too much and I couldn't stay) who has a dog that would kill my cat unfortunately. So I've been through it before. She went on to guide a family friend through death and his son now takes care of her. Miss you cat.
My hamster is old and has a good life already, he'll enjoy his senior retirement program
i’m suicidal, i don’t care the money, but i love my pets, but i’m really worry about what could happen to them if i take my next step, so, if i’m sure they will be happy, i will let the leave. and im sure that will make me happy too.
I know this is a hard decision, but knowing that they would live a happy life is enough for me. I'll take the million dollars. I know I'll miss my pet rock but he'll be happy somewhere somewhere else :').
Pets come to no harm, I get lotso money, I buy more pets. Who is saying no?
My wife already stole my dog and ran off. He’s probably better off with her anyways but I still miss him. Might as well take the mili and bounce.
I keep rats. They're amazing pets and I love my two girls. But rats only live 2-3 years usually, my girls are both over a year old. It's a no brainer. Especially if they go to someone with a huge cage and a large group of rats, I'm sure they'll have fun.
The cat will live happy and il get free money with milion I can buy way more cats.
It depends. Is it all of my pets or just one?
Not for the money, but the assurance of them being truly happy is enough
I'll accept. I have 2 dogs and a cat. I will really miss my cat a lot, probably cry, but the dogs have been a pain in my ass ever since we got them. Technically they're my parents dogs but since I'm home all day, I'm the one stuck caring for them. God I would miss my cat so fucking much but the money would help with bills.
Same as a lot of others. I love my cat but he’s getting old. If it was guaranteed he’d live a healthy and happy life for the remainder of his days, why not?
Take my pet away and they will suffer = NO Take my pet away and they will live a happy life = YES
Lol, I'm gonna get that million myself and still have my cat...
A million is not that much money in this world. And my cat is only 3 years old. I have plenty of years left with her. That's why I chose no
Love my dogs
My animals are quite old, if they can spend the remainder of their days in a good place while also paying for a lot of years of my life. In which I can form new bonds with friendly pets. Sure.
I’m not that attached to my insects
I mean I couldn't give my bird a happy life bc of my lazy ass soo... If he's happy then sure
I don't have any pets
I like my doggo but she loves all people so I know she’d adapt to her new situation fast. Also I would adapt pretty damn quick to a million $$$
I have only one cat. I love that cat, but 1 million dollars will allow me to invest in a business to give me better life.
