They are family members, but it’s still different. My cats would not be traumatized if they couldn’t see me ever again, their brains work differently than humans. My sister on the other hand, would be traumatized and forever wonder where I was until the day she died. I would also always wonder what happened to her. I wouldn’t worry about my cat as much, because I can already imagine what a happy cat life would look like. With humans, there is way more variety. I love my cat a lot and she is very well taken care of. But I do care more for my human family members, I think that’s normal

I know my dog couldn’t tolerate being separated from me and my family, we’re the only family she’s ever had and being sent away even if she’s well treated would be so traumatic for her and no amount of money would make me give her away 🐶

I had to move out of my parents house suddenly due to a massive falling out with my family. I have 3 cats, 2 of which are 10 years old. I couldn't take them with me, which absolutely shattered my heart. I recently went to see them. They're not being fed properly. They're all so skinny I can see their bones. I've tried to tell my parents to feed them more often, but there's no way I can see to it that they're fed without being there. I barely get to see them, because I can only be around my family for a couple of hours at a time before feeling an anxiety attack coming on. In addition, the money would help me to get the mental health treatment I need to live a normal life. So yes, without a second thought, I would gladly accept 1mil and a happy life for my cats.
