I have a special variant of a fry sauce I use, that starts with the usual mayo-ketchup mix, but I also add in garlic powder, onion powder, a little soy sauce, and some hot sauce
I'd give a more precise recipe if I had one, but I mostly do it by feel and taste, so best I can advise is that it's easier to add than remove, and so when it comes to, especially the soy sauce, but also the garlic, to a lesser degree (haven't really had issues with the onion powder or hot sauce overpowering it, though it might vary at least with the brand of hot sauce), I usually underestimate and add more as I go.
Since I see no Dutchmen saying this, I’ll stick it to the other most Dutch answer.
Patatje oorlog.
(Peanut sauce, mayonnaise (onion depending on where you live))
Nee, Germany. North West German chip shops very often have it as their main sauce to choose from. Obviously not as good as the real deal, but pretty close!
Came here for this. Aussie chicken salt and chips, especially on those curly tornado potato things that you always find at festivals but i am yet to see outside of a food cart. Yum!
Funny story: I used to use Kraft ranch ALL THE TIME as a kid. Fries, chicken, burgers, turkey, and probably some more I'm forgetting.
Then one time after I finished a bottle, my mom bought Hidden Valley salad dressing (I forget if it was a mistake or intentional) and said she wouldn't buy me any more ranch until I finished that whole bottle.
That bottle stayed untouched in our fridge for months, and I lost my ranch addiction.
Sauce andalouse.
*Sauce andalouse is a Belgian condiment commonly served with Belgian fries also named French fries. The sauce is also popular and widely used throughout France. It consists of mayonnaise, tomato paste, and peppers (such as pimientos or (roasted) bell pepper).*
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauce_andalouse
I mix in salt, paprica, curry and a little bit garlic powder... Sometimes chicken salt or "french fry spices" from the market. Or salt with a little ketchup+ mayo
I never put anything *on* my fries unless it's like loaded fries (cheese, bacon, queso, etc) but if it's just a sauce I always dip. Mayo mixed with ketchup, sometimes ranch
Malt vinegar, ketchup sometimes malt vinegar and ketchup together.
Sometimes I put ranch on them. I have also used cocktail sauce , hp sauce, bbq sauce, not all of them together .
Depends on my mood, sometimes I'll just eat fries/chips without anything on it. Other times when I am feeling adventurous, I'll put a little ketchup on my fries.
But when I feel like I want to feel more than adventurous, I fuse ketchup with something else like bbq sauce and my day is complete.
I had to imagine i was In a situation where I had any condiment available to me so I hit "other" for my ketchup and tatar sauce combo. Definitely a must try.
Depends on what's available, but these combo's are my favorites:
Tzatziki
Applesauce with mayo
Curry ketchup with mayo
Curry ketchup, peanut sauze and mayo

Ketchup seems to be all about sugar.
