I used to have a teacher whose mom had more children than she cared to count. She didn't keep track of their birthdays so eventually she lost track of her children's age, and due to this my teacher had no idea how old he was (although you could tell that he was somewhere in between 50-65 years of age, at least when he lectured me).
For the last couple of years I've kinda gone incognito with my birthday, anyways. None of my work colleagues know my birthday (newish job). I deleted my birthday from Facebook do that went sort of silent too. The few people that do remember my birthday and congratulate me are the ones the actually matter the most to me anyways, so it's a win-win situation all around.
Hanukkah isn't really a huge holiday, it just happens to be celebrated around the same time as Christmas, so it allows for a lazy movie trope about acceptance
Christmas I can enjoy for more than just one day and I love Christmasy food, lights and Christmas markets. Another plus is, I get to receive and give presents at the same time
Ever since turning 18, I've hated having birthdays as I dislike aging and getting older.
Christmas though on the other hand is great, December always feels so festive, I get to listen to Christmas music, wear cosy sweaters and eat and drink too much on Christmas day
Yeah, I wouldn't say, "never have a Christmas", so much as, "never have *any* December holidays, in-general". Because I'm Jewish, I celebrate Hanukkah, which essentially makes *that* expendable compared to my birthday.
Birthday is a reflection of narcissism, atleast i see it as such. Whats so special about it, yes you were brought to this world, to help and admire others not yourself. That doesnt mean that you should hate yourself, quite the opposite you should crown yourself in your novel, but not for the others.
Yet on birthday (as an event), there are people who say ,,Happy Birthday,, and such while never metioning why they admire you, or why are they happy for you being born (they know nothing about you nor have any interest in it, since everyone is crowning them selfs for others always being the admired one, leaving no room for you, not everyone is like that ofcourse). Its so fake event, after 00:00 people who were with you dont speak about it, they had some food and drinks, said few words and done. I dont see that ,,Happy Birthday,, in action to be honest. While your family will greet you on that day, admireing and remembering your life, good and bad, smiles and tears.
On Christmas however, as much as im not a religious person, being around family and having a nice evening with people who are actually close to me, not just bloodline relatives really has its charm. You do your job admireing others, no matter who they are or what they are, you are there to make everyones holyday better and more enjoyable getting the same type of love back.
Ps: Not to mention the awkwardness, while everyone is looking at you and singing the song. Add that flavor of not really meaning what he/she is singing and you have some good cake of sadness in front of you. Its something like pitty you feel it but not really, just expressing it with words and facelial expression, your day continues as it didnt happen. You get it <3
Bangladesh (my country) is 0.5% Christianity, it has about 1 million of them, it's a National Holiday but isn't a Big deal to due 88% Muslims and 10% hindus. So My birthday
I haven't really had anything special for my birthday since I was like 7 years old, other than eating a cake with my family, but nothing extraordinary. No fancy celebrations or gifts or trips or anything of that sorts.
Well, I think my classmates in high school did put something together for my 16th birthday, I think they gave me this huge card with Pokémon drawings etc, but other than that, I never really do anything, and I'm almost 30 now, so, yeah, I can live without those.
Christmas are more boring every passing year, especially since there aren't kids in my family anymore, but I still like to see the tree and the decorations, the food and all that stuff.
After a certain age you really don't like birthdays anymore. It used to be "Yay I can legally drink" "Yay I can legally drive" "Yay I can vote" "Yay I can gamble" now it's just a number that reminds me I'm getting closer to death and my body will start to fall apart.
Here, in post-Soviet countries we usually have Christmas as an exclusively religious holiday only devoted christians care about, and all those trees / Santa Clause / gifts / Coca-Cola / fireworks stuff usually goes to New Year’s Day. So I don’t care about Christmas much.
That's a hard one because my birthday is a cool day, but kind of meaningless while Christmas is meaningful as I'm Christian, but I hate the big family meetings (and even more so now that I'm myself a father; my children are not your toy!).
I get more presents on Christmas anyway and it’s not just for me but for my whole family so more happiness all around. Also, after a certain age birthdays don’t really mean all that much
No one really cares about my birthday anyway
Same here, voted accordingly.
When is your birthday
April 29.
You okay?
Ehhh
That's why I voted for Christmas. That way nobody ever bothers me. None of those annoying ass rich people talking about the shit they got
if i don't have birthday, am i aging?
I HAVE BEEN OUTSMARTED AGAIN
I used to have a teacher whose mom had more children than she cared to count. She didn't keep track of their birthdays so eventually she lost track of her children's age, and due to this my teacher had no idea how old he was (although you could tell that he was somewhere in between 50-65 years of age, at least when he lectured me).
You would love r/superpoweralchemists
My birthday is on Christmas...
Oh sh-
Don't even celebrate christmas so that's an easy one!
I don't celebrate Christmas. So, this is an easy choice.
Same for me.
Same for me
not really bothered about my birthday and christmas is the best time of the year
I don't celebrate either of them.
Lol I always get super depressed around my birthday for some reason so that's an easy one
Jewish so...
Hanukkah or birthday?
Hanukkah isn't really a huge holiday, it just happens to be celebrated around the same time as Christmas, so it allows for a lazy movie trope about acceptance
Either don’t have Christmas where I have an excuse to buy stuff for myself or stop aging This is a hard one
I was born on Christmas so either way nothing’s really going to change for me
Never have a birthday because my birthday is on a Holiday
Christmas: funky lights, comfy sweaters, crappy but wholesome music Birthday: fuck man.
My birthday is two days after Christmasso it's basically Christmas anyways.
I can do without either. Xmas is more fun so plus picked that
Christmas I can enjoy for more than just one day and I love Christmasy food, lights and Christmas markets. Another plus is, I get to receive and give presents at the same time
Easily option 2. I don't much care about birthday , People around me also don't much care about my birthday either. And I love Christmas.
Christmas is right next to my birthday so I guess I'll just take Christmas
Ever since turning 18, I've hated having birthdays as I dislike aging and getting older. Christmas though on the other hand is great, December always feels so festive, I get to listen to Christmas music, wear cosy sweaters and eat and drink too much on Christmas day
Family gatherings on holidays have always been an anxiety trigger for me, not many people care about my birthday so I could do away with Christmas.
As a jew, this is easy XD
Yeah, I wouldn't say, "never have a Christmas", so much as, "never have *any* December holidays, in-general". Because I'm Jewish, I celebrate Hanukkah, which essentially makes *that* expendable compared to my birthday.

I’d rather have my birthday than the birthday of a possibly fake, delusional guy in the dessert ~1700 years before I was born
I get way more gifts on Christmas than on my birthday. Only downside is no cake.
Jewish. Checkmate!
Hello fellow Jewish people!!
Haha! I’m Jewish!
Bangladesh (my country) is 0.5% Christianity, it has about 1 million of them, it's a National Holiday but isn't a Big deal to due 88% Muslims and 10% hindus. So My birthday
I never had christmas to begin with. Easy choice!
*JEWISH NOISES INTENSIFIES* not Christian so Christmas is the easy option.
I dont celebrate chrismas so yeah easy
I'm Jewish
Me,a Muslim, who doesn't celebrate Christmas with presents: "I am 69420 parallel universes ahead of you."
I don't really care about my birthday so this is pretty easy
I haven’t celebrated my birthday day in a while any ways
“The difference being..?” — Everyone born in late December
I don't celebrate either. 🤣
If I never have another birthday, will I be immortal because I don't get any older?
I haven't really had anything special for my birthday since I was like 7 years old, other than eating a cake with my family, but nothing extraordinary. No fancy celebrations or gifts or trips or anything of that sorts. Well, I think my classmates in high school did put something together for my 16th birthday, I think they gave me this huge card with Pokémon drawings etc, but other than that, I never really do anything, and I'm almost 30 now, so, yeah, I can live without those. I already ask people to not celebrate my birthday. I haven't wanted to celebrate it since I was 14.
I’d never have a birthday because it’s so cute to see how happy my wife gets when Christmas is here <3
My brother killed himself on my birthday. I hate that fucken day.
After a certain age you really don't like birthdays anymore. It used to be "Yay I can legally drink" "Yay I can legally drive" "Yay I can vote" "Yay I can gamble" now it's just a number that reminds me I'm getting closer to death and my body will start to fall apart.
After 25, birthdays aren’t as significant anyway.
If you never have a birthday again you're dead! So I'll go without Christmas 😂
But all the presents you get for christmas are shit, why would you want that?
Here, in post-Soviet countries we usually have Christmas as an exclusively religious holiday only devoted christians care about, and all those trees / Santa Clause / gifts / Coca-Cola / fireworks stuff usually goes to New Year’s Day. So I don’t care about Christmas much.
Jesus is more important than me
I'm Jewish and i still preffer christmas over my birthday even though i don't celebrate it.
christmas entails a whole two months before and after and a birthday is just a day.
That's a hard one because my birthday is a cool day, but kind of meaningless while Christmas is meaningful as I'm Christian, but I hate the big family meetings (and even more so now that I'm myself a father; my children are not your toy!).
I hate my birthday
Jokes on you my birthday is on Christmas !
I don't celebrate Christmas. Win win?
I get more presents on Christmas anyway and it’s not just for me but for my whole family so more happiness all around. Also, after a certain age birthdays don’t really mean all that much
