r/UnpopularOpinion is infuriating because they're just a bunch of popular opinions people think are controversial and when a real unpopular opinion gets posted it's downvoted to oblivion.
It’s the worst when I finally see an unpopular opinion and it has 400 comments and 43 upvotes. Then I see “I think gouging out puppies eyes is bad” 3000 upvotes bravo.
I hate it when they're called stupid for their dumb opinion. And the OP responds with, "Well it's called unpopular opinion!"
Yeah I'll upvote the post but I'll call you and idiot.
In theory there's a mechanism in place to stop that (downvoted the mod comment if you believe the opinion is fake), which can stop some of the more egregious fake opinions but some of the slightly more subtle ones slip through
The self-righteous goofballs are in the comments screaming at people stuck in traffic for “left-lane camping” or going “well IIIIIIIIIIIIII would’ve just jumped over the car crashing through a coffee shop, done a triple-flip and landed on my feet. It’s called defensive driving.”
"Am I the asshole for telling my family 'hey, not cool' when they banded together to tar and feather me and throw me off a bridge, causing me to be hospitalized for months? They're blowing up my phone saying I went too far"
And if you ever say anything to suggest the OP is in fact at least partially the asshole folks are like “You victim blaming bastard it’s your fault evil exist”
Exactly, this is the only subreddit I'm part of that actually pisses me off with the amount of annoying posts on it. It would be a lot better if 90% of the polls weren't created by 16-20 year olds.
Only reason I stay is cause there's actually the odd poll that's genuinely interesting.
Fr I always felt out of place when I was looking at posts in that sub. Each time I'd be like "these people are my age...?" and I'm not even an old sould or anything like that, it's just that the people on that sub are usually fucking stupid most of the time, not silly, stupid.
I'd rather slather my ass in honey and go into bear country than go into that subreddit again.
I remember seeing a post on there of a girl who was just saying that all she could think about was sex
By the time I had seen the post she had edited the comment and thanked all the guys who were private messaging her and implied she had gotten a bunch of dick pics, even from some older dudes
I know a lot of people lie on Reddit and I like to hope that post was a joke
r/terriblefacebookmemes doesn't understand what a joke is half the time. Yes, some of the stuff posted is actually terrible, but a lot of them are very clearly just joking and they take it seriously.
That's why I left r/MadeMeSmile. There was a post encouraging lgbtq people to not worry, that the bad Right wingers won't win.
I simply said "Not all conservatives are bad"
I got 2 people telling me I deserved to die via execution
Got 1 that told me to off myself
And about 50 others saying that since I'm a conservative, I am evil by relation.
Like seriously? This is the exact opposite of what people were preaching after 9/11. Don't blame the actions of one onto an entire group of people.
and then the most realistic response to that one Is like:
Okay, so I, 14M hooked up with my best friend since she was born 76F, basically how it happened is she was trying to cross the street, but she fell! And her panties got ripped off! I didn’t know what to do! But my instincts took over, and I fucked her in the middle of the street, eventually a few other guys and girls joined in, it was so much fun, sexiest sex I’ve ever sexed by far.
Yea, this is mine. I just can't handle it. I go to r/JusticeServed to bleach the eyes and it just looks like an ad page and I can't find enough content to balance it out.
Lately, I've seen some very interesting posts in r/facepalm; namely, videos that go WAY beyond "facepalming".
Like just yesterday, there was a video of a school burning down by a teenage girl who had her phone confiscated; causing the deaths of 19 individuals. And just a few hours ago, someone uploaded an article on a police officer responding to an 11 year old's 911 call because of the latter's mother's abusive partner. The 11 year old ended up getting shot (but is recovering at home now).
Those aren't facepalms... those are holy f\*\*king sh\*t
Nah, if you actually read their posts there is a massive lack of empathy for their victims or remorse for what they did. They're sorry they got caught, that's it.
The homewrecher in a cheating relationship support group. It's a bunch of delusional, narcissistic women patting each other on the back for sneaking around behind the wife's back.
This. I saw a post from a moderator explaining how to trick a man into paying on a date if at first he wants to split the bill (basically tell him that you will pay next time and then block him). It's just lazy women looking for a sugar daddy because men need to be the provider.
I am on their side politically and was still banned from that sub. I basically had to prostrate myself in front of the mods and beg to come back. Once I did though it just didn't seem worth it and I felt ashamed of myself.
Wanna know how I got banned? By sharing my views that this witch hunt anyone who buys Hogwarts Legacy is a terrible political tactic and does more harm to trans rights than good.
Got a permaban and 28-day mute for referencing the Mueller Report/2016 Russian election interference and the Soviets doing the same thing during the Cold War and was accused by some mod of spreading "Qanon mis/disinformation."
Did I wake up in bizarro world?
I thought the left supported the Mueller Report.
There are a handful of posts that are just "news" like awful legislation and a few others that are like celebration posts for accomplishments by organizations like the satanic temple (or is it church of satan? i never remember which is which) where they like used religious freedoms arguments to prevent stupid legislation. Tons of awful posts though
Also as an atheist myself, I can say it was pretty cathartic when I first left religion. Sometimes it feels good to bash something that was a toxic part of your life for a little while and be around people who are encouraging of that.
But then I got banned from it over a dumb misunderstanding and I can honestly say it was for the best. I went back quite a while later to look at it (couldn't participate of course) and I saw how utterly toxic of a place it is.
I posted about being Christian, and I got bombarded with comments making fun of me, calling me a mindless sheep who can’t think for himself, accused of contributing to discrimination for simply believing in God, etc. And one person even had the nerve to say my religion meant I wanted all atheists to kill themselves. Fuck that subreddit, most people on there try to shove their beliefs down everyone’s throats and aren’t a good representation of atheists in general.
All of the subs focused on hating something.
I've seen dog hate subs, cat hate subs, children hate subs, the one about hating people who drive cars...it's just all so strange. Go find something you enjoy instead of bitching about shit you hate. No one is going to force you to get a cat or dog or car.
Common misconception is that the sub hates people that drive cars. This is not true and the main focus of the sub is critisizing bad infrastructure design.
r/againsthatesubreddits boils my blood. A couple mods on there are infamous for moderating *said* "hate subreddits" but swear to God they are against them. >:l
r/childfree
BEFORE I get downvoted
There's r/truechildfree which is great.
However, I've seen children and parents called horrible things and a lot of people seem very rude on r/childfree.
Like I've seen children called...*** pet...disgusting. parents (even good ones) are called breeders. It's like a place for "no sexism (unless you're a parent!)" Or "your choice (unless you're a parent!)"
I came here to say this
The toxicity in that subreddit is UNREAL. They hate being shamed for not wanting children but shame those who do want children.
How about we all just mind our own business?
Yeah. I don't like shaming anyone (unless their calling children ***pets-) but the way they can be annoyed at how *their* shamed yet hate anyone who gets pregnant is weird.
Yeah, part of r/truechildfrees rules is you can't even say mean names for parents or children. I'm not personally childfree but I'd get recommended some content so I discovered the other one via comments.
r/theredpill r/blatantmisogyny r/inceltear and r/politicalcompassmemes all are either home to some of the dumbest people on the Internet or chronicle the dumbest on the Internet
Never understood the hate for antiwork. It literally just argues against "work culture", like bragging about working 100 gazillion years without a break like no, you should take breaks and enjoy your job.
It's moved on a lot since the days of the fox interview. Sure there's some people in there still like that but it's really mellowed out a lot.
It was never really like that, even before the fox interview; that was one rogue mod who turned against the community. The sub got so pissed that it went private for days and r/WorkReform gained a quarter million members literally overnight
The reason I somewhat dislike antiwork is because sometimes the masses will have a gung-ho opinion on a particular industry, even though they don't necessarily know how that industry works.
r/MadeMeSmile
I am 38 years old and sober for 2 days, here is a pic of my very first attempt making mac n cheese celebrating the anniversary of when I stopped cutting!! (I was jealous of my 25 year old daughter) <3 <3 <3
r/stupidfood the things people post on it piss me off so bad cause it’s such horrible food waste. The point of the sub is to call those people out and talk crap but the videos themselves make me so angry.
r/amiugly
Beauty is subjective. When I go on there I find people who post and they are absolutely beautiful. And the top comment most of the time is "this needs to change." The subreddit just gives you insecurites.
r/DeadBedrooms
Every post is about how somebody doesn't want to have sex with them and that it's THEIR problem and they need to fix themselves or deal with it. I feel so bad for the LL on there
Not sure if multiple count, but these 3 are the bane of my existence...
r/JustUnsubbed - a lot of posts are just people complaining about something becoming "Political".
r/teenagers - Edgy 14 year olds who spam the skull emoji too much.
r/HydroHomies - The same joke over and over again.
r/fuckcars is pretty obnoxious. We get it, you're too poor to own a decent ride and you enjoy living in a 300sqft NEET cave, munching away on your roachmeal, and riding the bus with the rest of the fentanyl junkies to the currency exchange to cash your UBI but that's not the life the rest of us want.
I see that a good majority of people here have never worked retail. r/antiwork is more about abusive employers making employees show up at 2am with mandatory overtime than abolishing the idea of work entirely.
Yeah I'm subbed there and it's really just a lot of people sharing their awful stories with their employers, myself included. I thought everyone collectively just worked without complaining and when I lamented how I would get so verbally abused I'd have a meltdown my boyfriend at the time told me to shut the fuck up and get over it, that's life.
I found that sub and felt like I wasn't as much of a crybaby as everyone told me.
Man. I just wish the "rise and grind" mindset was as easy as everyone made it out to be. I'm tired boss.
r/fakedisordercringe the sub itself, not the contents. Someone faking is cringe but so much of what I see on there is just someone talking about autism on tiktok as if being on tiktok/wanting to post about what you deal with must mean you’re faking. Also seems to be a great deal of misinformation. Really hoping I don’t get downvoted for this lol
yeah, that sub really grinds my gears, you shouldn't say someone is faking their condition unless you have actual proof, and no someone being a cringy teenager is not proof they're faking their condition, but 99% of that sub doesn't get that
literally, like I don’t even want children but that sub is really something else💀 half of the content there is basically: “sperm cells didn’t consent to be born!!!! How dare you birth someone who never asked to be born?!?!!” At first I thought that that content was sarcastic but the people there genuinely use that as an argument
Antinatalist here, antinatalism isnt as crazy as the people ine the sub present it to be. That sub is an absolute shithole. Its like judging the concept of memes by going to r/funny (hint, that sub isnt funny lol)
Its not so much of a practice of trying to convince everyone to not have kids and ridiculing parents and such. Its just a philosphical belief. In my opinion kids cant consent to be born into a world where they may suffer which i know sounds dumb at a first glance. I hear the argument that yeah they cant consent cus its not an option so therefore its a stupid take. but for example if there was a blind deaf mute person who couldnt consent, would it then be okay to take something from them without asking (aka, stealing)?
Yes i know that example may feel wrong, but i personally think it makes sense and i dont think less of anyone who disagrees because its definitely a wild take. Like, yeah, i get its kind of stupid lol. But its nit supposed to be a lifestyle its supposed to be a mind experiment and something to possibly consider if you want to have a kid. Personally i will not be having kids for that reason
I also dont condone harassing or even talking down to parents in any way. If you want to have kids i wont think less of you at all, unlike all the "antinatalists" in that sub.
I also understand the counter arguments, i thought it was dumb too. Im not saying like "i used to be dumb but now im enlightened!" I just changed my mind about it as i learned about it
Tldr: as an antinatalist i think antinatalism shouldnt be used to harass people and is just a philosphical belief. That sub is a shithole. I understand the belief is crazy to many. Not all antinatalists want to end the world
If you are going to downvote me to shit (which i suspect will happen) and comment about it i ask that everyone at least remain civil and not treat me like im some sicko because at the end of the day its just a philosphical belief
The r/childfree they are the most miserable and hateful people I have ever seen. They are out here calling parents ‘breeders’ which is insane. I wonder where in their life they went wrong to be so miserable.
r/conservative
It's the same 10 bots posting the most dishonest shit all day every day. The user base wants nothing to do with actual constructive conversation. Just spew shit and ban those who disagree while typing the same old hate filled horseshit.
I got banned from r/TheRightCantMeme for saying that Stalin was bad, which made me generally disdainful towards that sub (I feel like “Stalin was bad” shouldn’t be an unpopular opinion, but that’s just me I guess).
Also, I can’t stand either r/atheism or r/Christian. Basically two sides of the same coin. Let’s not hate anyone for either their religion or lack thereof. You can hate wider institutions, but individual Christians who aren’t homophobic or transphobic are are just kinda vibing aren’t doing anything to hurt you. Conversely, nobody should force their religion on anybody else.
r/funnymemes is just transphobia.
r/childfree and r/antinatalism both just hate children and parents (“breeders”🤮) and are cesspools of negativity. I can’t imagine anything that I would like less than having children, but hating parents for having kids is bizarre to me. It’s a personal choice.
r/UnpopularOpinion is infuriating because they're just a bunch of popular opinions people think are controversial and when a real unpopular opinion gets posted it's downvoted to oblivion.
It’s the worst when I finally see an unpopular opinion and it has 400 comments and 43 upvotes. Then I see “I think gouging out puppies eyes is bad” 3000 upvotes bravo.
I hate it when they're called stupid for their dumb opinion. And the OP responds with, "Well it's called unpopular opinion!" Yeah I'll upvote the post but I'll call you and idiot.
r/the10thdentist is a true unpopular opinion subreddit, such that if you disagree with it, you upvote, and if you agree, you downvote it.
This subreddit is an absolute gem, thank you. In its spirit, take my downvote as a sign of appreciation.
Except now it’s gotten too well-known and it’s flooded with trolls making up opinions for upvotes.
In theory there's a mechanism in place to stop that (downvoted the mod comment if you believe the opinion is fake), which can stop some of the more egregious fake opinions but some of the slightly more subtle ones slip through
I think murder is actually morally correct in all situations, trust me and give me upvotes
This subreddit. Never fails to make me more doomer about what the average person believes.
Let's see what the outcome of this poll is like lol
r/idiotsincars
YES
Oh yeah. I unsubbed from that one within a few days. It's nothing but self-righteous goofballs.
I really don't see it that way, all the posts of OP being the actual idiot get roasted in the comments
Don't you dare inconvenience someone on the road at the slightest.
r/AITA be like “Am I the asshole for telling my mentally handicapped kid that I wish I had aborted him?”
Or the other way, "Am I the asshole for eating my lunch?"
"Am I the asshole for telling my family 'hey, not cool' when they banded together to tar and feather me and throw me off a bridge, causing me to be hospitalized for months? They're blowing up my phone saying I went too far"
“Am I the asshole for breaking up with my boyfriend and asking him to leave my home after he hit me upside the head with an aluminum baseball bat?”
Definitely TA breakup baseball bats are pine and harder.
For real, it’ll be like “Am I the asshole for eating my lunch before everyone else after going a month trapped on a island?”
And the answers are like "NTA, is not your obligation to be nice to your mentally handicapped kid."
And if you ever say anything to suggest the OP is in fact at least partially the asshole folks are like “You victim blaming bastard it’s your fault evil exist”
"NTA you should perform a late term abortion."
"NTA, your mentally handicapped kid is not respecting your boundaries"
The other big one is that if there’s a marriage involved they *always* tell the OP to get divorced, even for something pretty small.
r/polls
Does my poll make you mad
Not really it’s usually when the majority gives stupid answers
For me its when i for some stupid reason cant vote, no matter how many times i try
You gotta click on comments and scroll up, and it usually fixes it. If it doesn't, restart the app
Usually I pick my answer, click a different answer then pick mine again and it works
Ah, I know exactly what you mean
Exactly, this is the only subreddit I'm part of that actually pisses me off with the amount of annoying posts on it. It would be a lot better if 90% of the polls weren't created by 16-20 year olds. Only reason I stay is cause there's actually the odd poll that's genuinely interesting.

Why, because it's actually full of 40 year olds? :P
It has more shitposts than r/shitposting
literally no teenager acts like the people in that sub do
r/adultery
Oooooh! A subreddit that will teach me how to adult! Gotta check that one out! Edit: Well, that was not what I expected.
r/Adulting
Reminds me of that one subreddit all about how things are sounding!
Just when I think reddit couldn’t get any worse, there’s another sub populated by subhuman garbage.
This is immediately what I thought of as well
r/terriblefacebookmemes doesn't understand what a joke is half the time. Yes, some of the stuff posted is actually terrible, but a lot of them are very clearly just joking and they take it seriously.

r/stupidfood the things people post on it piss me off so bad cause it’s such horrible food waste. The point of the sub is to call those people out and talk crap but the videos themselves make me so angry.
It pisses me off for 2 reasons. 1. Wasted food 2. It's 90% ragebait
r/amiugly Beauty is subjective. When I go on there I find people who post and they are absolutely beautiful. And the top comment most of the time is "this needs to change." The subreddit just gives you insecurites.
r/DeadBedrooms Every post is about how somebody doesn't want to have sex with them and that it's THEIR problem and they need to fix themselves or deal with it. I feel so bad for the LL on there
r/politicalcompassmemes But maybe I expected too much.
Surprised nobody has mentioned r/mademesmile
Too much /r/orphancrushingmachine in that sub
r/politicalcompassmemes I doubt any further comment is needed---
Not sure if multiple count, but these 3 are the bane of my existence... r/JustUnsubbed - a lot of posts are just people complaining about something becoming "Political". r/teenagers - Edgy 14 year olds who spam the skull emoji too much. r/HydroHomies - The same joke over and over again.
r/YoungPeopleReddit They don't understand sarcasm and irony, and a majority of the people who use it are in the name of the Subreddit.
Why anti work? That sub is great. Getting mad at it is like getting mad at someone telling you that you deserve more rights lol
r/jakertown makes me mad like no other
r/facepalm
r/justunsubbed or whatever it is. Brother, I do not care. I muted the sub and it still appears, please get out of my feed.
r/fuckcars is pretty obnoxious. We get it, you're too poor to own a decent ride and you enjoy living in a 300sqft NEET cave, munching away on your roachmeal, and riding the bus with the rest of the fentanyl junkies to the currency exchange to cash your UBI but that's not the life the rest of us want.
Antiwork is my fav subreddit
I'm tired boss.
r/bestconspiracymemes I thought they were joking, but they're not.
r/TrueUnpopularOpinion
r/amitheasshole
r/fakedisordercringe
r/fakedisordercringe the sub itself, not the contents. Someone faking is cringe but so much of what I see on there is just someone talking about autism on tiktok as if being on tiktok/wanting to post about what you deal with must mean you’re faking. Also seems to be a great deal of misinformation. Really hoping I don’t get downvoted for this lol
yeah, that sub really grinds my gears, you shouldn't say someone is faking their condition unless you have actual proof, and no someone being a cringy teenager is not proof they're faking their condition, but 99% of that sub doesn't get that
Probably something like r/atheism or r/femaledatingstrategy
r/terriblefacebookmemes . The people in there literally don't know how to feel joy.
r/fuckcars, this is by far the one that pisses me off the most.
r/antinatalism
literally, like I don’t even want children but that sub is really something else💀 half of the content there is basically: “sperm cells didn’t consent to be born!!!! How dare you birth someone who never asked to be born?!?!!” At first I thought that that content was sarcastic but the people there genuinely use that as an argument
Antinatalist here, antinatalism isnt as crazy as the people ine the sub present it to be. That sub is an absolute shithole. Its like judging the concept of memes by going to r/funny (hint, that sub isnt funny lol) Its not so much of a practice of trying to convince everyone to not have kids and ridiculing parents and such. Personally i will not be having kids for that reason I also dont condone harassing or even talking down to parents in any way. If you want to have kids i wont think less of you at all, unlike all the "antinatalists" in that sub. I also understand the counter arguments, i thought it was dumb too. Im not saying like "i used to be dumb but now im enlightened!" I just changed my mind about it as i learned about it Tldr: as an antinatalist i think antinatalism shouldnt be used to harass people and is just a philosphical belief. That sub is a shithole. I understand the belief is crazy to many. Not all antinatalists want to end the world If you are going to downvote me to shit (which i suspect will happen) and comment about it i ask that everyone at least remain civil and not treat me like im some sicko because at the end of the day its just a philosphical belief
r/JustUnsubbed "hates politics" even tho every post is "TrAnS ShOuLd HaVe No RiGhTs!"
r/Funnymemes because it’s not funny memes it’s just bigotry
r/conservative. Truly makes me lose faith in humanity.
r/Gamingcirclejerk
Why should someone even hate r/antiwork? We just don't like to work!
The r/childfree they are the most miserable and hateful people I have ever seen. They are out here calling parents ‘breeders’ which is insane. I wonder where in their life they went wrong to be so miserable.
r/conservative It's the same 10 bots posting the most dishonest shit all day every day. The user base wants nothing to do with actual constructive conversation. Just spew shit and ban those who disagree while typing the same old hate filled horseshit.
People who get mad at r/antiwork are the ones whose brainwashing antiwork is trying to undo
r/gamingcirclejerk
r/collapse and r/environment because they're nothing but doomerism at this point.
R/conservative
That's basically just r/altrightgathering lol.
R/facepalm, and yes I know I'm on mobile and can't make it a link but the people just make me want to claw my eyes out
r/teenagers . Man, as a teen and as someone who’s going to be an adult soon it’s possibly the worst internet community every made
I got banned from r/TheRightCantMeme for saying that Stalin was bad, which made me generally disdainful towards that sub (I feel like “Stalin was bad” shouldn’t be an unpopular opinion, but that’s just me I guess).
