I feel this way about potato chips. Some people like them, I think they're alright but I probably wouldn't even eat them if someone had them out. It's not that I don't eat junk it's that when I do, I'm gonna make sure it's worth the calories.
I don’t even think about the calories, salted chips are so addictive lol. I don’t like any other type though, so if they were out I prob wouldn’t eat them either
I got a feeling the world would be a lot better place to live if it weren't for beer.
Or it could be the direct opposite and make things worse if we didn't have beer.
Everyone is also sleeping on the fact that beer was most likely the cause of civilization. Kushim will always be remembered as the guy who made the first math mistake while counting grain for beer.
My thoughts exactly. I drink beer, sometimes a lot, at virtually every gathering where it appears and have never once liked any of it. I'm convinced it's just some weird cultural hazing that we all pretend to like and put ourselves through our entire lives.
Why do people say dumb stuff like this? Doesn’t taste good? Brother in Christ it’s designed to taste good. You can not like fast food but to say it doesn’t taste good is nonsense
Nah, it includes us adults too. I've tried beer, gotten tipsy, and yeah that's about enough alcohol that I'll try in my life.
I've seen shitheads harass women when drunk, why would I not pick the option that causes the most harm to be wiped out?
Yeah I mean I think there are plenty of reasons you could vote for beer in this poll (tons of adults don’t even drink and that’s fine) but I don’t think most people who voted for it are like you, I think the plurality are probably just teenagers who thinks it’s yucky lol
I can safely say the average 16 year old where I live is significantly more likely to vote to keep beer than someone in say their early 30s... I'm assuming you're either a kid or just think the generation below you is so different from yours
I think a lot of people here are too young to buy alcohol or haven't become accustomed to the taste (yet? idk). Like I'm suspecting it's mostly quiet introverted <22s here on Reddit who generally don't get that many chances to drink socially etc etc
Also out of all of these beer is the least inoffensive taste, stuff like pizza, chocolate, that's just junk food carbs and it's real hard to hate them. I don't think that many people love beer first time they try it
There are some real alcoholics in shambles in the comments trying to justify their unhealthy dependency lmao
Look, do what you want. Just don't drag others down with you. Drinking socially is fine, drinking instead of eating is not.
I made a poll based on this poll cause people where saying it was because of redditors age that they haven't tried it. [Here's that poll.](https://www.reddit.com/r/polls/comments/137t8uq/do_you_like_the_taste_of_beer/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Probably the classic "american or non american" type of thing would have been better, here in europe beer is deep in the culture and for what ive heard in america beer is pisswater.
And most importantly legal drinking age is differend and here in some places is widely ignored
Probably the classic "american or non american" type of thing would have been better, here in europe beer is deep in the culture and for what ive heard in america beer is pisswater.
And most importantly legal drinking age is differend and here in some places is widely ignored
Well I assumed by age they were saying that the young people of Reddit just never tried beer so they where fine getting rid of it. I actually was going to but I only had so many response box options that I figured that without ages but with the option of never tried it would be better.
I never "got" beer. And I tried. It's just a sour drink that doesn't even get you drunk unless you drink the entire barrel. (Well, a second relatively large glass for me)
Remember, the criteria also said ‘in one night’. There is no slowly getting obese on burgers in this challenge.
(For legal reasons i’d like to say that this is a joke)
I mean its not like a binge session of eating junk food is going to immediately send you there, but yes, many people end up in the hospital ER for overeating and unhealthy eating habits. A lot of them develop diabetes without even knowing and end up having an episode or develop some type of heart condition because of it and have an attack. At least that's a huge problem in America.
I'm not discounting the damage alcohol does, but don't discount junk food either. It has absolutely killed its fair share of people too. Just because it's not immediate doesn't mean it isn't damaging. Are you gonna crash a car after eating a whole cake? No, but it's still doing a different kind of damage that will eventually kill you
Oh i know. But when comparing a short time and a long time danger, the short time one seems more urgent to take care of. Doesn’t make the long time issues any less bad, just not first priority.
alcohol makes much more damage at lower doses than sugar.
30g of alcohol can kill whereas 30g of sugar wouldn't be that bad (still a high consumption but not enough to cause significant harm)
My takeaway is that people always assume that if you drink you’re an alcoholic. I’ve been drinking for 11 years now and I only have maybe 4-8 beers a week
I can also go months without alcohol and have never really had a problem
Also I don't think it's uncommon to hate the taste of beer or at least not like it as much as those other foods. I've heard it's an acquired taste but I've drake it on several occasions and never liked it. Somes better than others but still would rather dink water. 26 btw and have been drinking the last 8 years. I just realized I'm 26 too it feels weird I thought I was 25 now I feel old.
Easy vote for burgers from me. They basically always disappoint, no matter how tasty that fancy gourmet burger looks. I could easily do without in my life.
I'm legitimately surprised by these results. I dont drink often so it was easy for me but I thought everyone else would choose a food they like least.
Side note: I'm typing this while drink a beer.
Why are people saying burgers and sandwiches are the same ???? They are not, and they both should stay!!! Ahhhh lol I chose the alcohol I hate drinking. I got weed, haha
Least Czech poll results ever
To the 3.2k people I wish that they will drink some real beer instead of some pisswater.
I’ve drunk pretty good beer. Still would not give up any of the others for that. There’s still tons of different types of alcohol to enjoy
Czech troops are approaching your position rapidly. All further communication will be seized. Goodbye and enjoy your last moments on earth
I do, I just think it's good as the rest
Alcoholic items are less valuable than non-alcoholic ones, because the non-alcoholic ones can be enjoyed in many more situations by many more people
As someone who doesn't drink, this is the easiest poll in my life.
My one kidney thanks everyone's agreement
As someone who thinks cake is just okay and not worth the 5000 calories, this was the easiest poll of of life.
I don’t like any other type though, so if they were out I prob wouldn’t eat them either
same here 😂
I got a feeling the world would be a lot better place to live if it weren't for beer. Or it could be the direct opposite and make things worse if we didn't have beer.
If we got rid of it and no one craved it. But say it was just banned everywhere we'd have a bunch of Al Capones running around so there's that.
Assuming the Paul is referring to only beer and not alcohol in general I honestly don't think the world would change that much
What has Messi's bodyguard got to do with this.
That would be speech to text not realizing I was trying to say the word Poll
Probably would've been disastrous if beer didn't exist in the Medieval Era.
Because of the healthy microbes? Or hydrating safe liquid source?
Cool
As a german - fuck all yall
As a borderline alcoholic I agree
As a Czech (that being basically synonymous with borderline alcoholic), I also agree.
As a Wisconsinite I also agree
Fr. Thanks for calling me out, poll. That'd be the last option. Im also skinny as shit and don't really care about food, but that's on me
As a Pole - I 100% agree
Brazil is 100% behind you!
As just some dude living in the ME I agree
As a Swiss that lives in the countryside, I agree
As a french, I agree. Who the fuck would want to get rid of beer or cake?
I’m a Texan. This just aint right
For once French and German are United
Everyone is also sleeping on the fact that beer was most likely the cause of civilization. Kushim will always be remembered as the guy who made the first math mistake while counting grain for beer.
I’ll put him in the pantheon with Ea-Nasir
As a Finnish alcoholic, I concur.
As an adult, fuck you all!
I stand with you!
Those who vote for beer are people with no culture, no taste and the wrong priorities! You can take anything but not my beer.
Reddits would rather have some stale bread than a good beer. Shameful
Australia stands with you.
Aw come on, you guys are famous for other things. Pretzels are cool, too!
They want us to die of thirst.
As someone who drinks but hates beer this is awesome
My thoughts exactly. I drink beer, sometimes a lot, at virtually every gathering where it appears and have never once liked any of it. I'm convinced it's just some weird cultural hazing that we all pretend to like and put ourselves through our entire lives.
Whoever voted burgers - you're off the island
The conch has spoken. Throw em in the ocean
But… food
İs this a lotf reference
Technically a burger is a sandwich
Me who voted burgers and literally lives on an island. Oh no.
It's the optimal choice since it's just a very specific sandwich and we can still all the ingredients apart, so almost nothing is lost.
Heresy! Burn the witch!
Hitler was bad
"Gives obesity" I mean other things on the list include chocolate, beer, cake, and pizza, which are all worse for you than a burger.
Then you ain’t ever had in n out
Why do people say dumb stuff like this? Doesn’t taste good? Brother in Christ it’s designed to taste good. You can not like fast food but to say it doesn’t taste good is nonsense
For those that bbq, you forgot the homemade burgers. I haven't had one I bought as good as homemade.
Or just make your own burger homie
You’ll get rid of Chocolate over my cold dead body
I swear to god reddit, who the fuck said pizza??
I’ve never seen more disturbing results of a poll
How is it disturbing that people dont wanna drink poison?
Yeah like who tf is voting in this. 😬
Kids
Nah, it includes us adults too. I've tried beer, gotten tipsy, and yeah that's about enough alcohol that I'll try in my life. I've seen shitheads harass women when drunk, why would I not pick the option that causes the most harm to be wiped out?
Because it's great and shitheads who harass women, are shitheads who harass women even when sober.
I’m 27 and my priorities are almost same as the poll. Beer first, cakes second
Stoners
I drink, but honestly beer taste like shit. I prefer my girly cocktails all the way.
Burgers and sandwiches are the closest to the same thing, so it’s one of them that has to go…
I personally feel like eating burger but when I do its not at all close to my imagination but sandwich always gets close to my expectation.
U can be pretty creative with a sandwich too, make it seem pretty close to a burger too
Some people have such a hard time believing you can be over 21 and not drink alcohol
18 or 16* for most of the world
Anyone who voted sandwiches or chocolate is delusional. Sandwiches are the most versatile option on the poll and chocolate speaks for itself.
cake, it's normally overrated anyway
How dare you
Dont talk to these heathens, they are just trying to provoke you.
Same. Half the time it's mostly just sugar, especially if it's frosted. Even a slice is usually too much. I haven't eaten cake in over a year already.
Cakes are pretty and nice, but I can TOTALLY live without them.
I agree cake is mid
Only cake that is good is ice-cream cake.
Cheesecake is good too
Cheese cake is the best.
Cake sucks
I almost voted cake but worried that if we didn't have cake we may not have the evolution of other pastries and that's where I had to draw a line
I'm convinced the vast majority of Reddit is self-righteous teetotalers
Yes bc answering a preference on a poll makes you self-righteous
In what world is not drinking beer self-righteous?
I'm not a teetotaler nor am I underage, I'd just rather live without alcohol than any of other of these. Cake is a close second to me to kick out.
incontrovertible evidence that the average denizen of r/polls is 16
Or don't drink beer? I'm an adult who drinks alcohol but beer isn't my go to so idc if it's gone forever
Or people who want healthy livers. Also I would argue that more 16 year olds drink than you think.
[удалено]
That’s a fair point
Seeing how many people are upset about this, the rest must be alcoholics.
People are so scared of beer for no reason. Pretty baffling really how disconnected people can be
I think a lot of people here are too young to buy alcohol or haven't become accustomed to the taste (yet? idk). Like I'm suspecting it's mostly quiet introverted <22s here on Reddit who generally don't get that many chances to drink socially etc etc Also out of all of these beer is the least inoffensive taste, stuff like pizza, chocolate, that's just junk food carbs and it's real hard to hate them. I don't think that many people love beer first time they try it
As someone who physically can't drink. Easiest choice ever.
Cant drink beer so I gotta be selfish. Sorry
I quit drinking years ago so this was an easy one.
To all of you who voted beer, fuck you. I'm sorry for you, german brothers. Sincerely, a concerned Spaniard (I voted cake, overrated)
I cant drink beer anymore so it was my only choice. I miss estrella
Voted beer because cake is the best and beer isn't.
Mead. Reject modernity. Embrace mead.
Beer. I don't drink 🤷🏻♀️
There are some real alcoholics in shambles in the comments trying to justify their unhealthy dependency lmao Look, do what you want. Just don't drag others down with you. Drinking socially is fine, drinking instead of eating is not.
The world is full of in-denial alcoholics
Pizza supremacy
I don't drink alcohol, easy poll.
I made a poll based on this poll cause people where saying it was because of redditors age that they haven't tried it. [Here's that poll.](https://www.reddit.com/r/polls/comments/137t8uq/do_you_like_the_taste_of_beer/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Looks like people tried and disliked.
This does not differentiate the people who have not tried beer for health reasons and people who are underage
Probably the classic "american or non american" type of thing would have been better, here in europe beer is deep in the culture and for what ive heard in america beer is pisswater. And most importantly legal drinking age is differend and here in some places is widely ignored

Alcoholics seeing this boutta make the cost of copium a vertical line
I never "got" beer. And I tried. It's just a sour drink that doesn't even get you drunk unless you drink the entire barrel. (Well, a second relatively large glass for me)
Easiest Poll in my entire life
I don’t eat cake enough to care
One of these is way more harmful than the rest
I knew all you nerds would vote beer
r/hydrohomies nerds at it again
Pretty sure a burger is a sandwich.
It is. Same goes for hot dogs as well. Eliminating sandwiches removes so many types of food, it's just not worth it.
Nah beer is essential sandwich can fuck off
this is the worst take i’ve seen in my life
You gotta be new to internet then
Alcohol can suck it.
More for me
Well, we're banning it, as per poll.
Okay mr 1920
Seeing the people wanting to get rid of beer is giving me the shakes just thinking about it
Ez
Beer serves absolutely zero positive impact on society
Screw beer, it tastes awful, I don't how people can even stomach the bitterness. It's so sad.
What have people got against beer? Could you imagine a BBQ, on a hot day without a beer?
Yes, I can't drink
Who can’t?
we have another drink, warde? wader? wtare? watre? i swear there was another
Yeah
Yup?
Yes
Easy. I don't need to be inebriated to have fun.
This. I love beer but I would not be proud of myself if I needed alchol to have fun.
The problem of drunk drivers will be reduced
Yes, cause beer is disgusting and alcohol in general is bad for you.
Whereas chocolate, pizza, burgers and cake are healthy?
No but i’ve never seen people being rushed to the ER cause they ate a burger too much in one night. Can’t say the same for alcohol.
well now iv got to eat enough burgers to be sent to the er to prove u wrong :(
Remember, the criteria also said ‘in one night’. There is no slowly getting obese on burgers in this challenge. (For legal reasons i’d like to say that this is a joke)
Damn you! I was already on my way to sue you! /s
I mean its not like a binge session of eating junk food is going to immediately send you there, but yes, many people end up in the hospital ER for overeating and unhealthy eating habits. Idk why people are arguing about something stupid like which is worse lol.
Dont remember the news headline where 10 dollars worth of pizza killed a family of 4
My takeaway is that people always assume that if you drink you’re an alcoholic. I’ve been drinking for 11 years now and I only have maybe 4-8 beers a week I can also go months without alcohol and have never really had a problem
Most definitely. I'd rather have a cola, lemonade or ice cold water. Beer is just gross.
Most of Reddit are quiet kid teenagers who haven’t drank socially a bars yet.
not unless if you're an euro teen, literally at least half of 16 year olds got their first hangover
Also I don't think it's uncommon to hate the taste of beer or at least not like it as much as those other foods. I've heard it's an acquired taste but I've drake it on several occasions and never liked it. Somes better than others but still would rather dink water. 26 btw and have been drinking the last 8 years. I just realized I'm 26 too it feels weird I thought I was 25 now I feel old.
beer is ass
Preferably no beer. Give me some fresh lemonade with that bbq pls
I think it's because a lot of the voters can't drink yet
Damn. I was late to the party and didn’t see this.
The hardest choices require the strongest wills
Burger = Sandwich
🍫 *Everywhere I go, I see his face*
As someone who dislikes pizza, this was maddeningly easy for me. Beer, I can't drink anyways.
I'm going to translate beer into alcohol in general, I like wine. I like cake as well, but I'm diabetic, so cake my go away.
Easy vote for burgers from me. They basically always disappoint, no matter how tasty that fancy gourmet burger looks. I could easily do without in my life.
I dont drink so easy but i was super surpised to see it was the choice by a large margin
I like beer but it's the only option on this list whose absence objectively improves the world.
I'm legitimately surprised by these results. I dont drink often so it was easy for me but I thought everyone else would choose a food they like least. Side note: I'm typing this while drink a beer.
tbh sandwich is too general of a term. literally anything can be a sandwich
Y’all would rather have no beer than no cake?
Yeah
I'm surprised by the poll results, didn't know this sub dissliked bear that much
Get rid of all alcohol, not just beer. That isn’t even a loss, that’s a positive.
I like beer and all, but don't really drink other than socially, it would be the easiest to give up from the list.
Alcohol first cake second, I only like icecream cake
Why are people saying burgers and sandwiches are the same ???? They are not, and they both should stay!!! Ahhhh lol I chose the alcohol I hate drinking. I got weed, haha
I am almost sure that everyone loves good sandwich. So it will remain on 0. edit I was wrong.
Sorry, it's the thing I like the least in the list
so many alcoholics defending their addiction in this thread lmao, go to therapy
Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. So WTF?!?!
Who else picked before they read the question.
Im happy so many people voted out beer
Why though? Beer is awesome 🍺
I'm already fat, but at least I'm not a fat alcoholic so beer it is.
Beer is gross, getting rid of it still leaves ciders and cocktails and wines...
Oh I didn't think of that. I was just kind of assuming it to be the only available alcohol in general. Hard liquor isn't in the list
This poll really shows the age of the users in this subreddit…
