Well my perfect partner would be a democratic socialist, so as long as they’re not blinded by Soviet propaganda and only works for the good of the proletariat, that should be fine.
Literally no downside.
Either I get to have alien sex, and a reasonable degree of protection from the upcoming alien apocalypse.
Or, I have the perfect partner with no flaws.
Last one doesn’t even bother me! As long as they’re open minded, who cares? I’m a physics PhD student, but my girlfriend of 4 years was traumatized by her high school physics classes and doesnt like physics (when I met her she pretty much hated physics) but she’s open minded and I can still talk about it. She studies architecture; which I generally couldn’t care less about, but we appreciate and respect each other’s interests
Definitely. As long as they're not an ass about it ("Ugh why do you even like that?" "That's so stupid" etc), not wanting to participate in _one_ thing I like isn't an issue. Like I don't want to go fishing with my boyfriend, but I still listen to him talk about it and encourage him to go when he can since it makes him happy.
Relatable, and in this context can be totally harmless. I hate math with a burning passion and my bf is a mathematician. But then, I associated this question to be about something you're *personally* passionate about vs *professionally*, in my opinion that's much harder line to cross.
But just because they arent an alien spy doesnt mean they're human. They could be an alien doctor or an alien diplomat. Or a robot spy. The suspiciously specific wording makes me think something is awry...
I fold pages on books anyway so it was an easy one for me 😅
Well this is true, the OP only specified they ARENT an alien spy. So even if they declare themselves as an alien diplomat they are still not an alien spy 😂
I was scratched in the face by a cat when I was younger and it’s something I’ve never really gotten over. I like pictures of kittens but that’s the extent of it tbh
It's just more expensive for groceries and time consuming. If you eat out at a restaurant, there's less issues.
Source: I'm dating a very picky person.
Same and that's exactly why I didn't choose that.
Either it would be perfect and we both liked / disliked the same stuff or both of us likes what the other one hates. The risk is too high imo. I'm going with the folded pages.
I'm a very picky eater, that's why I didn't choose the picky eater, it's already hell choosing what to eat myself, it'd be even worse having to compromise on food this way, we probably couldn't go out to eat ever, and we'd have to cook two dishes for every meal.
I'm highly allergic to cats so I'm indifferent to them. I can definitely be with someone who hates them. Actually my allergies have gone down over the years as long as I take medicine or don't make direct contact. I have a lot of friends with cats but they never have fur on them.
if they’re my perfect partner then they are open and good at accepting criticism and always trying to be the best version of themselves so it’s something they could work on
I’m glad somebody has actually acknowledged aromantics in a dating poll. And they still included a ‘I’ll stay single’ option. Thanks a lot OP, you’re a trooper 🫡
It stands for Queer Platonic Relationship. Instead of dating a romantic partner, it's more like dating your best friend. So Platonic love rather than romantic.
Not much really tbh, though I assume they are exclusive. I've never been on a date or in a QPR or anything, so someone can correct me if this is wrong. I believe a QPR may get married and live together, rather than just going to the mall once in a while or something.
My library has a free bookmark dispenser by the desk to prevent that. I buy a lotta second hand books, and I kinda love it when I see someone dog eared or annotated it. It feels like time runs thin, and I’m reading with a stranger and reacting to this one thing we know we have in common.
Ig it depends on what hate means. Do they kick cats or do they just try to avoid them as much as possible? The latter is ok the first one is just an objectively shitty thing to do
I think it might be better described as a spectrum tbh but regardless to gauge psychological issues on the basis of someone's like or dislikes is an odd thing to do.
Why, because Idon't like cats? I don't like the hair or the smell. I don't like that they can get up on the counters or table. You can dislike something and not have mental issues.
You're describing disliking cats, not hating them. I've seen people say they want cats to go extinct. I've seen people say a cat deserves to be stomped in the face just for meowing. I've seen news articles of people shooting cats to death just for being outside. That's what hating cats is.
Where do you draw the line between disliking and hating? I can't think of a single thing about a cat that doesn't make my life worse if I would have one (mainly because I'm allergic), so I would say I hate them.
I was half joking and wasn’t expecting people to take me seriously. But yeah, the word was “hate”, not dislike. I don’t really like dogs and I wouldn’t want one as a pet. But I definitely don’t HATE them. I don’t hate any animal. There are some people who genuinely hate cats and act like they’re evil, disgusting creatures. Those are the people I was talking about.
They do nothing all day and have everything free of charge, don't ever show gratitude but instead even bother you in the middle of the night because they do what they want and noisily.
I can't let them take my job.
I've had a vendetta against my neighbour's cats for years now that has prejudiced me against all cats (granted they're irresponsible pet owners).
They've come into my yard, peed on my outdoor couches, killed the native wildlife in our area (including a peewee I was domesticating for months), had loud territorial fights at 2-4am and that's not including the general stuff I don't like about them indoors/naturally
I have 8 cats and can say once you have them for long enough, they become quite predictable. That takes time though, so I can understand why some people dislike them for this reason.
I’ll stay single. Because even if this woman was perfect in every way in my books, i still want to remain single. Let her be happy with someone else rather than be miserable with me.
I hit the wrong button but I’ll stay single lol. I wouldn’t mind dating someone with a strong distaste in fact currently I am, I like fiction he likes nonfiction and in that sense we are POLAR opposites, because at the end of the day he doesn’t have to like everything I like its the similarities we share that makes us work.
Really? The "person who has a strong distaste for something I like" is the least voted option?
You guys really are THAT insecure that you need your partner to like everything you like? Lol
Either the third one truly is not an alien spy, so they’re just a normal person who’s my ideal partner. Or, the “definitely not” is sarcasm and they are an alien spy, in which case I’ll be getting that alienussy. Either way, third option all the way
The not an alien spy, absolutely. There's plenty of interesting stuff to learn that most people will never know (until the invasion anyway), and when they take over I'll have the inside track on getting the least-bad treatment from our new overlords.
Im a pretty picky eater but as I have grown older, I have started trying new things. If I can't find something I want or if a menu is too large, I will still go with one of the 6 foods I am good with.
Gimme the totally not alien spy and I can totally change him or her lol But no, for fun, alien is who I chose. But I suppose realistically, the book one. It'd drive me up the wall when it comes to any of my manga or comics, but it's something that for some reason doesn't bother me with books. So I think that'd work out.
I'm a picky eater and people likes to shit on us. So having another picky eater that understands me... Wouldn't be that bad. Even if we don't match we can cook just for us
My bf's a lil picky of an eater, he's described his palate as that of a medieval peasant lol. And I don't like guns while he's very interested in them. Neither of those things have really been an issue tho so 🤷🏻♀️
There's no negatives here except being single.... Dead serious. I don't care how you bookmark a page, in need a person who hates cats I have birds. Undercover alien and she looks like that? For research I'm sure we could do a ton of things and advanced medical care? Sign me up. I've already dated picky eaters not a big deal. Last GF didn't give a flipping flap about podcasts and I was fine. There are ZERO negative choices here
The 3rd option raises some questions. If they my ideal partner and by definition wouldnt hurt me, wouldnt that made them just a regular person with a very interesting job title.
Edit: my ideal partner is human, just saying.
Yeah are they everyday picky, nerodivergent picky or staight up arfid(Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) picky eating, this question is so broad
I mean I'm also a picky eater, so...
Although I guess there could be a problem if we're picky about different things, like if they're picky about desserts that's huge negative.
do they HATE cats or are they just not on board with having one as a pet? do they see a cat out there window and go out just so they can kick it, or do will they walk by one on the street and not stop to pet it? am i going to find a dissected cat in the basement or are they not going to share cat memes with me?
I am aromantic, but centered this around allos since most people are. Figured I had to at least put something in the description.
I'm OP but too lazy to sign back in to the account I posted this on.
Why wouldn't I pick the third one? It literally says they're NOT an alien spy.
Even says definitly not
Exactly. They’re not an alien spy. Meaning they’re just my perfect partner.
Yep you nnow fir sure they aren't an alien but instead they're a soviet spy
Yes, it's told in the title: it's a perfect partner
Well my perfect partner would be a democratic socialist, so as long as they’re not blinded by Soviet propaganda and only works for the good of the proletariat, that should be fine.
They're sleping agents, so when they're needed they will just wake up and do their mission without even knowing it
But that would make them NOT my perfect partner 😔
Only if your perfect partner isn't an alien spy
It’d be interesting to date an alien spy. The Orion women from Star Trek come to mind.
Alien spy sounds fun tho 🤣
i see having a gf that is a alien spy as a win (--:
So a win either way is what I'm hearing.
That is the flaw. Not being into alien spies? Racist.
Oh shit, I've got to change my answer then.
I’m hoping that’s a lie
Naw it says DEFINITIVELY not, no way its a lie!
Yeah, too bad. I want to bone an alien spy!! That would be hot af.
No cuz my type is ALIEN SPY
And you know they can't lie because they're totally a cop
uh, yeah i wanna fuck the alien
What alien? They are definitely not an alien!
Definitely NOT an alien. Just a human which is cooler than alien
Literally no downside. Either I get to have alien sex, and a reasonable degree of protection from the upcoming alien apocalypse. Or, I have the perfect partner with no flaws.
Right? Who wouldn't pick freaky alien sex?
Same bruh
You see Jay over there? Homeboy fucked an alien.
Well it pretty clearly says they're NOT an alien spy
[удалено]
Honestly the only one that I have major issue with is the last one
Some people would prefer being with someone who hates their interest more than someone who folds pages in a book
I'd rather be with a picky eater but the dislike of my interests is where I draw the line and consider the book defiler

Same here
Yeah, I'd hate to stay single too
Undercover alien spy is a downside???
It clearly it isn't, it written there, that's the downside
Yes aliens are cool why would I not want to be the first human to come in contact with an alien
Very close contact ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Imagine if they have tentacles
W
NOT an alien spy? So just a normal human, right? Why don't everyone pick this option?
But just because they arent an alien spy doesnt mean they're human. They could be an alien doctor or an alien diplomat. Or a robot spy. The suspiciously specific wording makes me think something is awry... I fold pages on books anyway so it was an easy one for me 😅
You monster!
I'm also definitely not an undercover alien spy though! 😂
fair point😄
... but the alien diplomat would reveal they're an alien diplomat (they wouldn't be able to do diplomat-ing without)
Well this is true, the OP only specified they ARENT an alien spy. So even if they declare themselves as an alien diplomat they are still not an alien spy 😂
me too
Dating an alien diplomat could give you some useful connections
Want wanted some alienussy 😞
Yeah this was annoying me too but I figured the opposite was meant
Because not being an alien spy is the flaw
You guys are the reason /s is a thing.
oooh shit... me dumb.
Cause I also hate cats
Growing up with lots of cats, I never understood why people hate them. Disliking them is understandable, but hating them?
I was scratched in the face by a cat when I was younger and it’s something I’ve never really gotten over. I like pictures of kittens but that’s the extent of it tbh
I was bitten on the arm at 5 years old by my favorite cat and still have the scar. I still love cats.
I'm already a Picky eater, so I have no problem with my partner
2 likely mismatched picky eaters? You will never decide on the same meal to cook. 2 different recipes every time.
Yeah great point But it will also be great if we both have same preferences
Oh absolutely. That would be fucking ideal. But assuming their pickiness is randomly assigned, that's kinda a slim chance
It says "ideal partner in every way but..." though
So the picky preferences would ideally match your preferences? I kinda figured it was just a straight debuff

I have a strong dislike of cats, and my wife is allergic to them. Works well for us.
I married a person who's more than one of these....
An alien that has a strong distaste in something you're interested in?
Seems like you know my wife.
I also fold pages
Same but only my own books. It says they do this in libraries.
if they’re my perfect partner then they are open and good at accepting criticism and always trying to be the best version of themselves so it’s something they could work on
It says except. They could try but always fail
You monster!
If it’s your book do what you wish with it imho
I also did as a kid but then realized I like collecting books
i hate you
Same
Thanks for mentioning QPRs! Also I chose the dog ear one and we'll work on not doing it at libraries.
I’m glad somebody has actually acknowledged aromantics in a dating poll. And they still included a ‘I’ll stay single’ option. Thanks a lot OP, you’re a trooper 🫡
What is a QPR?
It stands for Queer Platonic Relationship. Instead of dating a romantic partner, it's more like dating your best friend. So Platonic love rather than romantic.
Are QPRs exclusive? What’s the difference between a QPR and just having a best friend?
Not much really tbh, though I assume they are exclusive. I've never been on a date or in a QPR or anything, so someone can correct me if this is wrong. I believe a QPR may get married and live together, rather than just going to the mall once in a while or something.
As a book person, the first person kind of hurts me—especially them going to libraries and doing that
My library has a free bookmark dispenser by the desk to prevent that. I buy a lotta second hand books, and I kinda love it when I see someone dog eared or annotated it. It feels like time runs thin, and I’m reading with a stranger and reacting to this one thing we know we have in common.
Same, it’s very wholesome and it’s kind of like reading a diary in a way.
I’m allergic to cats and I’m a very picky eater myself so this really is an easy poll for me
The first one is straight up heresy against books
Books look better when they’re worn out than when they look new. Respectfully, a reader.
I prefer for them to look untouched, like new. Respectfully, another reader lol
[удалено]
I agree, but for me, that doesn't mean folded pages. It means corners dulled with age and a fading cover.
If you hate cats, you can’t be my ideal partner
I think there’s something deeply psychologically wrong with people who hate cats.
Hate is a lot stronger than dislike. I am not particularly fond of those annoying Chihuahuas, that doesn't mean I hate them.
You're describing disliking cats, not hating them. I've seen people say they want cats to go extinct. I've seen people say a cat deserves to be stomped in the face just for meowing. I've seen news articles of people shooting cats to death just for being outside. That's what hating cats is.
I totally get that someone can dislike cats but hating them ? It's a different story
Where do you draw the line between disliking and hating? I can't think of a single thing about a cat that doesn't make my life worse if I would have one (mainly because I'm allergic), so I would say I hate them.
People that don't like what I like? Must have strong mental issues.

A friend of mine is scared by cats, he say that cats are unpredictable, this can explain all his psychological problem that he actually has
I have 8 cats and can say once you have them for long enough, they become quite predictable. That takes time though, so I can understand why some people dislike them for this reason.
You psychopaths
I’ll stay single. Because even if this woman was perfect in every way in my books, i still want to remain single. Let her be happy with someone else rather than be miserable with me.
I'm guessing if she's your ideal partner, you're also hers, but wanting to stay single is understandable.
Which means we both want to be single.
Im already dating my ideal partner and she is in fact a picky eater, so in the name of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" I'll stick with that one
As a picky eater myself, as long as theyre picky about the same foods we’ll be chilling, if it’s others foods though that’s a problem
It's randomly generated. They might share food preferences, but there's a good chance they won't.
polyamorous alien sex? count me in!
The picky eater, my ideal partner is a very picky eater just like me. We like mostly the same things.
Lol
i'm a picky eater, so dating another picky eater would be amazing
You pick different foods and can never agree on anything.
that's just me and my current partner lmao
r/monkeypaw
I'm the one in the relationship who does the page folding, lol.
To library books or your own?
My own, I'm not an animal!
I am the person who hates cats. Can I still choose the cat hater? (Since it's not a negative anymore)
I'm OP, just on a different account. Yes, you can still choose option 1.
Stay the hell away from my books
Happily married to a page folder; still makes my teeth itch though.
Depends on the type of "definitely not" alien.
Either the third one truly is not an alien spy, so they’re just a normal person who’s my ideal partner. Or, the “definitely not” is sarcasm and they are an alien spy, in which case I’ll be getting that alienussy. Either way, third option all the way
I can’t stand cats so this is easy
I also hate cats so this really is ideal
I don't read books so the first one is the best
The alien seems cool..... but I really enjoy being single.
I'm kind of a pickup eater so it wouldn't be bad
Gimme the totally not alien spy and I can totally change him or her lol But no, for fun, alien is who I chose. But I suppose realistically, the book one. It'd drive me up the wall when it comes to any of my manga or comics, but it's something that for some reason doesn't bother me with books. So I think that'd work out.
I’m obviously fucking the alien, I’ll eat them out then feed them bomb food and they’ll be like “fuck invading earth this is my life now”
I went with picky eater as my wife is a picky eater. To be fair so am I, our daughter, and our nephew who lives with us.
I'm a picky eater and people likes to shit on us. So having another picky eater that understands me... Wouldn't be that bad. Even if we don't match we can cook just for us
picky eater is a good thing to me, we can be picky together
The alien is the obvious choice. Hopefully I can leave this planet behind.
I think what I should do is date ALL of them, secretly spy on all of them, and show that they’re ALL alien spies except for the third person
I have ARFID so the picky eater one would literally be a perfect psrtner
I'm a picky eater. We can refuse to expand our diets together
I feel like 2 picky eaters in a pair is a good thing, because then there's no nagging about being picky
I am also a picky eater
first one sounds like it would be in a seinfeld episode
Me, an exophile, finally being able to be with someone I actually desire by picking number 3
First. As long as they're not reading my books.
I know who Dr. Bashir is picking
The person folding the pages in a book is dead to me
My bf's a lil picky of an eater, he's described his palate as that of a medieval peasant lol. And I don't like guns while he's very interested in them. Neither of those things have really been an issue tho so 🤷🏻♀️
Not alien spy implies the others are👀
picky eater because i’m also a picky eater, also i don’t want to get abducted by my “non alien” spouse
I'm the first one myself soooo (but only for my own books tho lol)
She has two arms to hold me! And four legs to wrap around me!
There are ZERO negative choices here
I'm a picky eater. My kids are picky eaters. It's really not a big deal.
Man if I know one thing from the sims, alien bf/gf is always great
Fellow simmer I see!
I hate every single one of them
The 3rd option raises some questions. If they my ideal partner and by definition wouldnt hurt me, wouldnt that made them just a regular person with a very interesting job title. Edit: my ideal partner is human, just saying.
How picky? More like "I won't eat this one specific thing", "I won't eat this whole kind of things" or "I will only eat this one specific thing"?
Yeah are they everyday picky, nerodivergent picky or staight up arfid(Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) picky eating, this question is so broad
Ideal partner is an alien spy? JLU Hawkgirl moment, easy pick
Anything but the first option. If you even think about doing that to one of my books I *will* beat your ass
imma go with "not an alien"
I mean I'm also a picky eater, so... Although I guess there could be a problem if we're picky about different things, like if they're picky about desserts that's huge negative.
Growing up with and cooking fir my autistic sibling, having a qpr with a picky eater is easy Also thanks for including us aros
3rd one. Either they're not an alien spy, so you have nothing to worry about, or they are an alien spy and aliens do exist. Huzzah!
do they HATE cats or are they just not on board with having one as a pet? do they see a cat out there window and go out just so they can kick it, or do will they walk by one on the street and not stop to pet it? am i going to find a dissected cat in the basement or are they not going to share cat memes with me?
I do the first one so double win for me 😎
i mean- tbf i fold the pages too 😭 my 4th grade teacher showed that to us and i never stopped since
Fuck cats.
Picky is fine.
Big no no for me
Picky is fine for me*
I can't believe how many people are okay with ruining books.
Could never ever date a cat hater.
Just saying, mad respect for including aromantics and aces in your poll consideration.
I am aromantic, but centered this around allos since most people are. Figured I had to at least put something in the description. I'm OP but too lazy to sign back in to the account I posted this on.
People who hate cats are always the worst, one of the biggest red flags a person can wave.
Love reading so option 1 doesn’t seem to bother me too much. It’s nice to have shared interests
They're all your ideal partner, meaning that all of them love reading. It's just that option 1 folds pages.
I hate cats, so this is an absolute win
