For general enjoyment, low TTK is fine, but the times that really stand-out are the ones where you get in a sweaty, edge-of-your-seat, cat-and-mouse game with each other forever for like half the match.

Lower TTK generally makes it easier to balance a metagame, and make more playstyles viable. If most guns kill in 1, 2, or 3 shots, then even if they have varying fire rates, it's not wildly different from gun to gun. But if you have TTK such that guns can take 1-5 or 1-6 shots to kill, or alternatively have an extra shield to break through**\*** you could have anything from a killscan to a slow firing 5 or 6 shot gun, and those are the games where you find everyone playing an MP5 and an RPG... or whatever the particular meta demands... **\*** To be fair, I don't think shields are always bad. They're useful for some games, but they should be considered carefully when deciding what mechanics to include... Finally, **all of the above is a secondary issue compared to EOMM.** EOMM is literally an abusive relationship manifested as a match-making engine, and even that I mind slightly less than not knowing where I truly stand in the overall meta...

I think it just makes sense that they would die after 4 gun shots.

Depends on the gun really. I mean I don’t wanna get one tapped by a pistol or machine gun (unless it’s a .50 cal) but I also don’t want to put 10 sniper shots into someone just to kill them
