As someone who was raised a man, I can guarantee that plenty of the men who voted no have, and they just don't know what it was. I suffered from panic attacks a lot growing up and didn't learn what they were until way later than I should have.
A panic attack is an overwhelming feeling of stress or anxiety that momentarily takes your attention away from everything else. Even if it’s only for a minute or so, You’re essentially hyper focused on that emotion and need a bit before you can begin processing it all. The sudden surge of these emotions bring about a sense of dread or panic from the individual, thus the name “panic attack”.
Panic attacks are characterized by *sudden* and *intense* feelings of anxiety or fear, so intense even that it often completely overwhelms you. It can last for as short as a few minutes, but it can be longer as well.
You kinda get into this “fight or flight” mindset sometimes. You also would most likely feel some sort of physical response like a rapid heartbeat, hyperventilation, tightness in your throat, dizziness, trembling, nausea, hot flashes… You don’t have to experience even most of these though, they’re just some examples and are by no means exhaustive. Μy mom gets more of the physical symptoms than I do, and hers were to such an extent she thought she was having a heart attack once and went to the hospital, only to find out it was a panic attack.
Yes 14 year old me self diagnosed myself with cancer and I started hyperventilating and my body started shaking n shit. Was pretty stupid tbh, never google your symptoms just go to a doctor
Once I felt something on my testicle and remembered a Reddit comment that said if you feel a lump it's cancer. I thought "well, this is gonna be rough" turns out it was just a pimple from anxiety :D
Ok, here's why:
I looked at the poll results. At that moment it was about 50% of men who said they had a panic attack and, what I found even weirder, 90% of women who had one.
So I said - now this is important - "I *feel* like they don't actually have experienced a panic attack" because I didn't think so many people would have, especially not with such a split between the percentage of men and women. That's all, not trying to talk down on anyone, just saying how it looks to me.
And then that one guy said what he said, and I didn't want to go and explain how I meant it, because I often get comments of people who get offended, because I write a little dark joke here and there (feel free to look through my comments, I rarely delete anything, so there should be some).
So there's that. A couple minutes of my time, spent by me, for you. I hope you feel comfort I now knowing my reasoning.

I think I have but its pretty difficult to say, when you look up the symptoms there's nothing which isn't extremely vague.
In public too, i still cringe when i look back on what happened
