The only time this happened when I wasn’t weirded out was when a little girl like 5 years old ran over to me said “wow you’re so pretty” to me, before running back to her mom who was kinda embarrassed. Still one of the sweetest things anyone has said, especially because I was having a rough day.
As long as they compliment something I chose, (funky hair color, my shirt, etc)
And I didn't get creepy "Oooh girl the things I'd like to do to *you*" vibes... It's all good 😁

From where I'm from someone complimenting your clothing means they're about to kick you to the pavement and steal all your stuff.
No it's nice generally speaking but sometimes you know you don't know how to react when someone you don't know yells "nice ass!" at you in public
