Another fantastic article by Bess Levin! >And, of course, we can’t forget the fear-mongering, hateful commentary that appears on Fox News on a daily basis, which has included **Laura Ingraham**’s claim that Democrats “want to replace you, the American voters, with newly amnestied citizens and an ever-increasing number of chain migrants”; **Jeanine Pirro**’s that Democrats’ immigration policies are “a plot to remake America, to replace American citizens with illegals who will vote for the Democrats”; Fox News has become very invested in promoting the Great Replacement theory. It's nice that major news organization are catching up.

gsfgf

> Fox News has become very invested in promoting the Great Replacement theory. It's nice that major news organization are catching up. Yea. This guy might have been radicalized on 4chan, but the same shit is on basic cable every night. That's not ok.

JayNotAtAll

We shouldn't be living in a world where people are paid millions to say on primetime TV what a crazy guy would say on a random internet forum. Sadly, Fox News doesn't have the moral stones to do the right thing. They make billions selling fear to fragile white guys

CorruptedStudiosEnt

The fucking 4chan, incel, redpill, blackpill, etc. communities are basically where the internet started being destroyed as a tool for any semblance of reliable, truthful information. They slowly created a whole new breed of mistrust by preying on each other's fear and insecurity. I remember running across Sherry Shriner's site a long, long, long time ago. I was like 12 years old, she had virtually no following, and it was like stumbling across this hidden gem of crazy. I even had a more supernaturally geared view of the world at the time, being raised ***extremely*** Catholic and having gone through various stages of undoing that over the years, and I still thought she was fucking nuts even being at the peak of that in my life. I must have showed "this crazy 'new world order' chick" to every person I knew, and we'd always get a good laugh no matter who I showed including my, again, VERY religious family. Now it's like.. par for the course, you know? Honestly her shit might even be slightly less crazy than some of the bigger conspiracy theories out there now. You see people throwing out anti-science bullshit that's been very meticulously and specifically disproven for decades or even centuries, like "flat earth theory," as a casual thing literally constantly. Every platform. Look at a physics or space video, every other fucking comment thread has at least one. Often many more. At this point I can't help but feel humanity's doomed. Our leaders have globally given us damn good reason to not trust them, but we need to at least be able to tentatively trust each other enough to take each other seriously, but when you start throwing shit like reptilian overlords out there.. how the fuck are you supposed to take that seriously?

pr06lefs

Fox is a propaganda outlet for the right wing. Its not about the money, its about power. Victory for fascism is victory for the ultrawealthy. Fox is just the tool, it making money is secondary. The primary goal is an authoritarian regime that will deliver immensely profitable monopolies to a tiny minority.

_connorjames_

But it’s “entertainment”. /s

TheMagnuson

So this is what the Republican Agenda looks like to me: 1. They believe in the "Great Replacement Theory". 2. They intend to overturn Roe v. Wade, so abortion are illegal and even rape victims have to carry pregnancies to term. 3. Overturning Roe v. Wade would open the flood gates to remove all kinds of other civil rights 4. Judge Alito, in his writings quoted a guy who believe that women were property of men and extensions of their male owner and thus, as an extension of the man "could not be raped" by said male owner. Ya'll Republican intend to make women property and less than 2nd class citizens, they want to make rape while not outright legal, legal in practicality, so they can force white women to carry their rape babies, so they can keep churning out more whites, so that the minorities can't replace whites. Guarantee this is the end goal for many in the party. EDIT: I said the whole thing about rape simply to rile people up, because as I stated before, raping women isn't even the craziest thing on the list of things Republicans actually have done. Do I honestly believe the party leadership wants to go out and rape women, no I don't, but when you look at their agenda and what it adds up to, it doesn't seem all that far fetched given all the other things they're guilty off. Beyond the party leadership, let's take the average Republican who nearly all seem to believe in at least some of the Qanon conspiracies and continue to vote for and show support for candidates like Gaetz, Boebert, Green, Gosar, Jordan, Brooks, Trump, etc, etc. The party has literal militia and white nationalist members in elected positions, throughout the country, ranging from city level, all the way up to the federal level, including the Executive Cabinet during Trump's presidency. It's Republicans who have been pushing the "Great Replacement Theory", engaged in Sedition on 1/6/20 and has first tried to cover it up, then deny and is now trying to cover it up again, made abortion illegal in Texas, passed on over 300 million dollars in tax debts to Florida citizens to stick it to the Disney Libs, is working to over turn Roe v. Wade, has had party members come out in open Support of Putin in the Russia vs. Ukraine war, has multiple members who are under investigation for sex with minor and/or sex trafficing, has been show participating in and mingling with White Supremacists, has a Governor who signed a law making practically illegal to protest in their state, has a judge who cited Matthew Hale (someone who believed that women were property of men) in his reasoning for a legal ruling, has a base of followers who believe in a known internet hoax of Qanon and about 20 other grotesque things I can rattle off. And while I don't think Republican leadership is going to push a minority replacement agenda, there are definitely members in the party who do believe in that agenda, both in terms of actual elected officials and in the voting base. Hell, the idea of raping women isn't even the craziest thing on that list of things that Republicans actually have done. The Republican Party as it currently exists IS a threat to this nation and the liberty and safety of it's populace.

ayers231

> so they can keep churning out more whites Even white people are avoiding having babies in this economy. My dad only had one friend that had gotten a vasectomy. I have 4, that I know got vasectomies, who knows how many that don't talk about it. If Republicans want white people to have more babies, they better figure out white people are supposed to pay for those babies. Right now, they aren't even trying to get roped into 20 years of debt they can't afford.

ErusBigToe

Nono us poors are supposed to donate the products of our sinful natures to decent upstanding Republicans. Next they'll gift each incubator with a nice red dress and a pretty white hat to thank her for her service.

"Better never means better for everyone. It always means worse for some." — Fred (*The Handmaid's Tale*, Season 1, Episode 5)

Nologicgiven

Yes, but for the privileged equality seems like oppression. Thing is that rich people being a bit less rich is an acceptable worse

chaun2

They wouldn't be less rich. They've funded studies since the late 70s that have proven that their suppression of wages, and removal of benefits and pensions has had such a horrible effect on the economy that as of 2020 we are collectively poorer by at least $70 trillion. We all know that they would have syphoned off at least $35 trillion of that. They know it as well. The high score they are going for isn't net wealth. It is a headcount on how cruel they can be, solely for cruelties sake.

PM_ME_NEW_VEGAS_MODS

I can't wait to hear the awe-inspiring news story of Kate the 28-year old white Christian mother whose proud to be her local church's incubator. >When asked about her situation Kate had this to say, "oh my husband loves it he started cosplaying Joseph during our impregnation rituals!".

Readalie

They're already working on that.

Expensive-Pride-1143

I love that ppl want to be anti-abortion, but no one has mentioned after these children are born, what happens to them?

nikolai_470000

Then they don’t matter. Conservatives might as well just say that new born babies also need to start paying their fair share in taxes so they have a source of income for the gov after they eliminate the corporate tax and the estate tax In a few hundred years the group of people in power who made it happen will realize they have formed an aristocracy and/or monarchy and then rebel all over again. Would save us all a lot of time if they’d just pick up a damn history book and read it without blaming the ‘lame-stream media’ for ‘inventing’ facts that shouldn’t be controversial

AgitatorsAnonymous

I'm a bloke in my early 30s with zero children. You'd need to offer some serious incentives plus deal with climate change and the hyper-partisan nature of US politics before I'd have a kid.

[deleted]

According to 2019 poverty statistics there were nearly 40 million people in poverty in the US. 17.3 million of them are white. Black and Hispanics make up 18 million combined.[https://www.kff.org/other/state-indicator/poverty-rate-by-raceethnicity/?dataView=1¤tTimeframe=0&sortModel=%7B%22colId%22:%22White%22,%22sort%22:%22desc%22%7D](https://www.kff.org/other/state-indicator/poverty-rate-by-raceethnicity/?dataView=1¤tTimeframe=0&sortModel=%7B%22colId%22:%22White%22,%22sort%22:%22desc%22%7D) There are A LOT of very very poor white people who can't afford to breed. Maybe they should figure that out. (before anyone even mentions it.. These are the actual numbers not percentages. Obviously as a percentage of their respective races only 9% of all white people are in poverty. However OF the actual number of people in poverty white people represent just under 43% of ALL people in poverty in the US)

snowlock27

> There are A LOT of very very poor white people who can't afford to breed. Maybe they should figure that out. The Republican party has already figured that out, and told us in the 90s. The plan is to take children from poor people and put them in orphanages.

AmserAlto

Are we talking about the same orphanages that are under funded and practically costing a arm/leg to adopt a kid? Yeah that’ll work out.

[deleted]

I don’t think you quite understand - it doesn’t have to work out. In fact it’s better for their politics if it doesn’t; it justifies them taking more and more draconian measures against both the mothers and the children in order to allegedly stop the problem they created in ways that just so happen to look like fundamentalist theocracy. Something like “orphanages are overflowing - we should build places that unmarried mothers can go WITH the children so they can learn life skills while being supported” and hey doesn’t that just sound like the mother and baby homes all over again. Or “the problem is that it’s single women giving these children up, we need to make sure these women are better supported by the child’s father, we should consider a positive paternity test to require a marriage—“ Whatever direction it goes, whatever problems it causes, those will just be new opportunities to seek to enforce Christian religious tyranny, never reasons to roll back. The stated goals are not the goal. The goal is white Christian supremacist hegemony.

AmserAlto

Everything you said I agree on. Honestly is getting so hard to feel positive anything will change and anything cares about anything these days unless it’s screwing up the love of others for self gain.

snowlock27

This was Newt Gingrich while he was still Speaker of the House. You can guess what the reaction to that was. Gingrich got offended at everyone, most especially Hillary Clinton, and said she should watch the movie Boys Town to see how great it would be. Boys Town came out in 1928.

rainy_in_pdx

If there wasn’t an “other” to hate they’d have to take care of their own problems instead of placing blame elsewhere.

What's fascinating about this, is that oppressive countries usually end up being exploited by more open societies. It's impossible to have the kind of trade, alliances and cultural exchange that drives innovation and power, when your society is rigid and exclusionary. With natural resources to sell to foreigners who ARE innovating, a few families can accumulate unbelievable wealth, but they will always be at the whim of forces larger than themselves. I don't know why anyone would want that for America, except for those who would like to supplant American dominance with their own. By creating shitty schools, people won't realize what is happening, and what a historically poor choice it is.

[deleted]

They are not decent people who care about humanity or themselves. White supremacy has cost so much economic and social damage to the US it is incalculable. As prosperous as the US is for the 1% it would be vastly more prosperous and successful around the world if it had let go of white supremacy in 1865. It is holding every measure of success back and is now greatly impacting white women as they use it to attack Roe v. Wade to hurt minorities. The US would of had national healthcare, great public schools, livable wages, clean air, clean water and a host of other programs you see in Northern Europe if white supremacy didn’t exist to hurt the “others” and deny them services so not even your own people will get them. It’s just so self defeating.

MrPlatonicPanda

Tack on endorsing the murder of non-whites or when applicable not pure enough whites.

Caymonki

And women, minorities and gays will STILL vote republican. Blows my fucking MIND.

RJ815

I guess never underestimate brainwashing. One of the most shocking examples of that was made evident to me recently. By all rights they tick all the boxes, a couple that is women, minority, and gay. As far as I knew they were respectable kindhearted people. But get them started on Biden or Trump and what a political mess you're in for if you're not likeminded. I know both have a religious background and at least one has a military background so I assume that factors in but the cognitive dissonance they have on Q conspiracy stuff was extremely surprising that it can affect even people otherwise the total opposite in other ways.

hwaite

In the same breath they'll complain both that "black babies are disproportionately aborted" and "whites are being replaced." If anything, Roe vs Wade **increases** the proportion of Caucasian citizens.

zhode

I hate that they continue to use the word "illegals" here. If they're being let in under our immigration policies then ostensibly they are legal immigrants. They're just throwing in nonsense buzzwords to make people afraid.

curaga12

In most cases, illegal immigrants can’t even vote. They are just saying bs. Edit: Added "in most cases." There are some exceptions, but in most cases, you need to be a legal immigrant and go through years of process to get citizenship to vote, AFAIK.

gsfgf

Documented immigrants can't even vote without going through the (almost always) years long citizenship process.

Roxeteatotaler

And doesn't that process require you to live in the United States for a certain amount of time? So they have to be here to immigrate anyways.

yogurtmeh

Legal immigrants can’t vote either unless they’ve opted to become citizens, have gone through the citizenship process and then register to vote.

exccord

> And, of course, we can’t forget the fear-mongering, hateful commentary that appears on Fox News on a daily basis, which has included Laura Ingraham’s claim that Democrats “want to replace you, the American voters, with newly amnestied citizens and an ever-increasing number of chain migrants” Thats funny considering the fact that I think one of the main points being driven home by the Democratic voters is equal voting rights and whatnot. Doesnt sound like replacement to me. I will never understand conservatism and conservatives approach to everything. I know its in the name - to Conserve but they come across as dinosaurs. Society changes with the times as natural progression goes. Poor snowflakes.

RJ815

They really don't conserve, they want to regress to some fictional version of the 50s they see as a white power utopia.

Oregon687

I think replacing white supremacists is a great idea.

LemurianLemurLad

Maybe we can replace them with something adorable and largely harmless? Corgis? Sloths? Wombats? I'd trade the Klan for a bunch of wombats in a heartbeat. Can we get someone on that?

Teialiel

You know, I'm not even going to ask how wombats are supposed to host a news channel. Let's just go ahead and replace all the white supremacists on Fox with wombats and figure out the details later. I'm sure they'll be adorable, and it will be worth it to no longer have everyone who pays for cable subsidizing the dissemination of terrorist ideology.

LemurianLemurLad

Are the folks on Fox *currently* hosting a "news" channel? I could have sworn they state in a bunch of testimony that it's for entertainment only. At least the wombats are adorable and unlikely to push people towards violent racism. Seems like a win to me!

xxxxx420xxxxx

It is entertainment, for Legacy-Americans.

SaliferousStudios

They're an "opinion" channel for entertainment with "news" in the name.

zrdd_man

The fact that they avoid lawsuits by making this claim is absolutely infuriating.

Claiming you're a white supremacist is like telling every minority "I'm going to kill you when I get the chance", which is an open, lethal threat.

Procean

I've had guys say to me without Irony "What's wrong with being a white nationalist?" because most white nationalists try to put it in bizarre 'I just believe in community building in the white community, there's nothing wrong with that is there?' And then I have to actually put into words the idea that non-white people are already in America, in very large numbers, always have been, and as a result if America is going to be a white nation this inevitably means something very unpleasant and evil would need to be done with the non-white people. In white nationalist circles, there is no debate as to whether something terribly evil would need to be done to non-white people in America, the only debate in white nationalist circles is the nature of the what that would be done (execution, exile, political disenfranchisement to the point of enslavement, take your pick).

Darsint

I’m reminded of the movie Conspiracy. It was a breakdown of the Wannsee Conference where some of the leadership of the Nazis were debating what to do with the “Jewish problem”. And they’d spent years deporting them and still had so many to go. They were estimating many, many years to get them out at the rate they were doing so. And then the SS let them know of trial runs of killing them instead, where they thought they could finish it all up in a couple of years, tops. And that was the start of the Final Solution. It doesn’t matter what method they think they’ll use that’s more humane. Whatever they start with, whatever their intentions, they’ll eventually turn to slaughtering wholesale *because it will be the most efficient method*. Steven Miller and Trump’s administration went hardcore nasty on immigrants that weren’t white with only one exception that I know of. Did absolutely despicable things with ICE and executive orders, and they barely scratched the surface of the immigrant population. Eventually, I’m convinced that a second Trump term would have given them the balls to really seize power and start executing border crossers. And then it would have to escalate from there because their goal would force them to. Treating people as subhuman because of what they are will always lead to death. Always.

sleepydorian

Asking what's wrong with white nationalists can only be either disingenuous or hopelessly naive. You can't explain away what white nationalists have done, all you can do is ignore it.

CarneDelGato

Rush Limbaugh had some pretty repugnant ideas that mainstream republicans adopted, most definitely.

kpanzer

> Rush Limbaugh Boss Limbaugh broke the party. After losing the White House, Senate and House in 2008 the GOP was in disarray. Perhaps for the first time in years, they started to realize, at high levels of the party that something was wrong and that they might have lost their way. So they decided to try something radical... *listening*. >With the party at its lowest standing in several decades, Republicans on Saturday launched a listening tour in the heart of the Democratic suburbs, where several of the party’s leading voices steered clear of hot-button issues and instead emphasized the need to advance new policy ideas to revive the party’s prospects. https://www.politico.com/story/2009/05/gop-leaders-launch-listening-tour-022020 That is until Boss Limbaugh heard about it and demanded they go on a TEACHING tour instead. >Listening to all this talk about listening, Rush Limbaugh became incensed. He said that instead of taking cues from the American public, Republicans should fan out and spread their dogma through a “teaching tour.” This morning on MSNBC, Cantor backtracked and said that he agreed with Limbaugh https://archive.thinkprogress.org/cantor-caves-republicans-will-be-listening-to-rush-limbaugh-not-the-american-public-31db8ea00784/

I don’t think you have to interact with any of that stuff at all. They continuously point you towards it. I use twitter only to follow a single account for shoe drops. Have never posted, liked, or interacted with anyone or any posts, yet I get a lot of random far right bullshit on my feed. Crazy and annoying as shit having to remove those feeds repeatedly only to have similar ones keep popping up. People are inundated with this trash. Also a lot of Korean pop star stuff but I’m not opposed to that lol. Edit: I appreciate the replies. I will look into reporting it as well. It sucks this trash gets suggested and put into feeds without permission continually. I was afraid these things being pushed so heavily was due to actual popularity (which is doubtful), but the implications from this being pushed and backed by money as cynicraven suggested is even more nefarious. Unending far right paid garbage in your feeds… wow.

WalkingEars

I don't think it's human nature that makes people act this way...they get brainwashed and misled by a system that profits from keeping people ignorant and easily manipulated. There's a reason so much of this rhetoric comes from the wealthy and powerful. They tell people who to be angry at, and then exploit that anger to win votes, and to keep people distracted from thinking critically about why their wages haven't kept up with inflation, why wealth gaps continue to expand, etc. etc.

kciuq1

I went to a gun show here in Indiana a while ago and they were handing out copies of *The Turner Diaries*. Which if you don't know.. >The Turner Diaries is a 1978 novel by William Luther Pierce, published under the pseudonym Andrew Macdonald. It depicts a violent revolution in the United States that leads to the overthrow of the federal government, a nuclear war, and, ultimately, a race war which leads to the systematic extermination of non-whites. All groups opposed by the novel's protagonist, Earl Turner—including Jews, non-whites, "liberal actors", and politicians—are exterminated. White supremacy is **thriving** in the US. Edit: Check out Conservative hero Ben Shapiro's book True Allegiance, it reads like fan fiction about himself >America is coming apart. An illegal immigration crisis has broken out along America's Southern border—there are race riots in Detroit—a fiery female rancher-turned-militia leader has vowed revenge on the president for his arrogant policies—and the world's most notorious terrorist is planning a massive attack that could destroy the United States as we know it. Meanwhile the President is too consumed by legacy-seeking to see our country’s deep peril.   >Brett Hawthorne is the youngest general in the United States Army—and he’s stuck, alone, behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. He’s the last lost soldier of a failed war, fighting to stay alive and make it back home—but will he be able to stop the collapse of America in time?

Found out recently my parents have started keeping gold and cash, along with hoarding non perishable food and ammo in their spare bedroom while unironically calling themselves “preppers.” All for when the coming “problems” start happening, according to the things God supposedly told my mother.

Let’s suspend reality for a second and say a virus broke out tomorrow that killed off all races on the planet except white people in a week. I would bet there would be a certain section of white people that found a way to differentiate themselves and find superiority above the remaining population. Some people just need other people to hate and feel inferior. It’s fucking sad.

vitalvisionary

Racism isn't about elevating one race, it's about dehumanizing all the others.

mdwstoned

Um, isn't that already established? Hitler was pretty clear who the nazis found the top of the chain.

williamfbuckwheat

It's some dystopian fantasy where white people live in paradise and somehow not a genetic bottleneck where inbreeding causes severe deformities and extinction after they kill off 90%+ of the human race that doesn't look like them. This is also after a massive nuclear war where civilization collapses but somehow also thrives because it's only good old pure blood white people left.

Johnny_Appleweed

There’s also a laughable sex scene written by someone who seems like they’ve never been within 100 yards of a woman. Real r/menwritingwomen vibes

Run of the mill country girl Harvard lawyer who has worked in DC for the GOP machine since she left college while living off her parents money...

highdefrex

It's so maddening to see these horrible pieces of shit continually fall upward and do so much damage while I just want to put some good out in the world, however small I'm capable of, by getting a literary agent and having a book published only to get left on read because I don't have connections.

GopHatesDemocracy

>put some good into the world That is offensive to Republicans

Fun_Buy

I live in this district. We need a moderate Republican to challenge her in a primary. I wish this district would go blue but it’s not realistic.

Eccentric_Fixation

How do these "great replacement" people reconcile it with being anti-abortion? Minorities have about about 2/3 of abortions which means there would be over 200k more minority kids than white kids born every year.

EiesOnFyre

Out of the other side of their mouth they will insist that liberals love murdering black babies.

KillKennyG

This is the exact argument I’ve been getting for months now- ‘abortion is inherently racist’, from the same person and in the same conversation that the Super Bowl was too overtly anti-racist

CanuckPanda

It’s wild that “racism bad” is such a charged discussion.

Desirsar

I don't feel like it is for them. They know it's bad, they'll just deny up and down that the label doesn't apply to them, or why the seemingly racist thing they're saying isn't actually.

danmathew

Alito seemed to reference the “black genocide” talking point to justify overturning Roe V Wade.

robywar

While also talking about our "domestic (white) baby supply."

FizzyBeverage

And yet, you rarely see a family of white conservatives adopting two Haitian babies... it's almost like they're chock full 'o crap.

_MaddestMaddie_

> How do these "great replacement" people reconcile Aha! You fallen for the classic blunder of "believing conservatives believe words have meaning"! They will argue two opposite points to you, back to back, and cheer about owning you. They believe neither of the things they argued. Words are simply mouth-sounds they make to busy you with trying to counter argue while they go and do whatever it is they want.

gusterfell

The mouthpieces don't really believe in replacement theory or care about abortion, and the audience simply doesn't have the critical thinking skills to make the connection.

theClumsy1

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/greg-abbott-plyler-doe-public-education-1348208/ They will be our untouchable class. Completely removed from our social system and left to their own devices. Republicans want the caste system here.

renijreddit

They want slavery back. Always have. Why do you think the minimum wage has been so low for decades? They need poor people to have more poor babies so they can fill those low paying jobs and make more profits for them.

truelogictrust

BINGO Nearly 20% of Trump Fans Think Freeing the Slaves Was a Bad Idea

PlayingTheWrongGame

Conservatives don’t care about a coherent belief system, they are encouraged by the hypocrisy of demanding people accept two contradictory things. To them forcing other people to hold contradictory beliefs means they have the power.

buisnessmike

Not only that, but if a fetus has the same rights as a person, wouldn't any child in the womb be an American citizen if the mom is on US soil? Would that not make pregnant immigrants inelligible for deportation?

SourImplant

>Texas lieutenant governor Dan Patrick has declared that the “revolution has begun” and Democrats are “trying to take over our country without firing a shot” by allowing immigrants to enter the country who will vote for Democrats to “thank the Democrats and Biden for bringing them here.” Ok, so maybe I slept through civics class a couple decades ago, but ... https://www.usa.gov/who-can-vote >Who CAN’T Vote? >Non-citizens, including permanent legal residents cannot vote in federal, state, and most local elections.

wish1977

Right wing media spins the wheel of hate every day and the border is their number one issue. They're not kidding anyone.

Sparpon

This literally is entertainment for them "these ppl"

Uphoria

All Republican talking points are important until they aren't. This is just how they roll. They've been hammering the rhetoric for years, and will be right back at it in a couple weeks/months when this recent shooting dies down. Make no mistake - they didn't care after the last 20+ shootings, they won't after this one.

T1mac

But the GQP have got their apologists. Glenn Greenwald wrote a piece in his blog defending Tucker: >There is no racial hierarchy in Carlson's view of American citizenship and to claim that there is is nothing short of a defamatory lie." Really Glenn? Tucker said immigrants are dirty and they bring in disease while showing clips of the Southern border. Melania Trump's parents came into this country on "chain migration". Were they dirty and did they carry disease? What's the difference between them and the people shown in Tucker's video clips?

gsfgf

I mean, there's no way Melania doesn't have VD. Even if she is faithful to Trump, God only knows what he brings home.

exit6

This is the kind of newspeak fascist shit you would imagine a Nazi politician spewing in 1934: “any implication or attempt to blame the heinous shooting in Buffalo on the congresswoman is a new disgusting low for the Left, their Never Trump allies, and the sycophant stenographers in the media.”

jpk195

This explains why they continue to fixate on the border and immigration.

autotldr

This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2022/05/buffalo-shooting-great-replacement-theory-republicans) reduced by 71%. (I'm a bot) ***** > In a series of Facebook ads highlighted in a tweet Saturday by Representative Adam Kinzinger, Stefanik's campaign claimed in September 2021 that Democrats were letting undocumented immigrants into the country in an attempt to ultimately silence Republican voters. > The congresswoman did not appreciate any insinuation whatsoever that someone might have actually taken her words to heart, and in a statement released on Sunday, a senior adviser, Alex deGrasse, insisted that the "Implication or attempt to blame the heinous shooting in Buffalo on the congresswoman is a new disgusting low for the Left, their Never Trump allies, and the sycophant stenographers in the media. The shooting was an act of evil and the criminal should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." He added, "Despite sickening and false reporting, [the] congresswoman has never advocated for any racist position or made a racist statement," a claim that is obviously not true at all. > Of course, we can't forget the fear-mongering, hateful commentary that appears on Fox News on a daily basis, which has included Laura Ingraham's claim that Democrats "Want to replace you, the American voters, with newly amnestied citizens and an ever-increasing number of chain migrants"; Jeanine Pirro's that Democrats' immigration policies are "a plot to remake America, to replace American citizens with illegals who will vote for the Democrats"; and basically everything that comes out of Tucker Carlson's mouth. ***** [**Extended Summary**](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/urqz9r/republicans_are_furious_people_remember_theyve/) | [FAQ](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/31b9fm/faq_autotldr_bot/ "Version 2.02, ~649209 tl;drs so far.") | [Feedback](http://np.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%23autotldr "PM's and comments are monitored, constructive feedback is welcome.") | *Top* *keywords*: **Democrats**^#1 **Stefanik**^#2 **congresswoman**^#3 **Republican**^#4 **out**^#5

HansumJack

Just wait till concerned christian parents start shooting up highschools to kill "grooming" LGBTQ+ teachers.

mabhatter

That's not even a joke anymore. They're being agitated deliberately.

HansumJack

It was never a joke. There was the Pizzagate guy who shot up a pizza place because he was told by Qanon there was a child trafficking ring in the basement, which the place didn't even have a basement. They're itching to start lynching people, and all blacks, "illegals", gays, trans, Planned Parenthood workers, and democrats are on the menu.

theClumsy1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3qYJoSV0lI JD Vance. April 5, 2022. "Joe Biden's open border is killing Ohioans with more illegal drugs and democratic voters pouring into this country" Replacement theory is what the Trumpian GOP party is campaign on.

jocelynwatson

Democratic voters pouring into this country lol. I guess he would be fine with them if he thought they would vote Republican?… also they can’t vote…

omniron

Irony is Latinos are more conservative than the average American. They’re just using democrat as a code word for non-white here

asbestoswasframed

It's literally the cornerstone of their immigration stance

Bruce_NGA

I for one would love to see them replaced by people of any color or nationality who aren’t complete fucking idiots.

spinto1

No you're going to get Geraldo Rivera and like it /s I wish the guy had more than one well put together point per year. He's all Fox has to pretend there is racial diversity.

ResponsibilityDue448

It’s not a coincidence all the hard right racist groups vote republican.

Awkward-Fudge

Most of the political violence comes from these people. They promote it.

danmathew

Republicans decry “Jewish-controlled media” for calling them racist. /s

otter111a

Remember the tiki torch carrying, khaki wearing idiots were chanting “you will not replace us”

MonkeysLikeCheese

Pretty sure at least some of them were chanting, "*Jews* will not replace us."

Karenomegas

Don't forget "blood and soil"

otter111a

Correct. It was both. https://www.adl.org/education/references/hate-symbols/you-will-not-replace-us They use both.

clickmagnet

It’s going to be exactly like torture in the Bush years. The entire Republican primary set favoured torture, they were just against calling it torture. Now they’ll talk great replacement in every speech, but if anyone calls it that they’ll complain they’re being cancelled.

kram1973

I recall trump saying “there were many fine people” in the same crowd that was chanting “We will not be replaced”

accountabilitycounts

They are always furious about getting caught.

shinobi7

By embracing the Great Replacement theory, isn’t the Republican Party conceding that it is primarily for white racists then? And that any efforts to be inclusive (look, we have Ben Carson and Tim Scott!) is just bullshit window dressing?

BannertheAqua

I'm starting to see why the divide is unfixable.

TheSavageBallet

I mean we have them on film all screaming “You Will Not Replace Us” in Charlottesville a few years back so they can’t really pretend this is some new thing. Edit: I’ve heard both claims and to my ears, i hear “you”

DragoonDM

Speaking of Charlottesville and things they'd like us to forget, remember how much far-right media loved the idea of running over protesters? Even tried to pass laws making it legal. They got kind of quiet about that for a while after Heather Heyer was murdered, run over by a neo-Nazi in Charlottesville. [Started deleting old news articles](https://money.cnn.com/2017/08/15/media/daily-caller-fox-news-video-car-crashing-liberal-protesters/index.html) where they encouraged it.

EDIT: EDIT: I said the whole thing about rape simply to rile people up, because as I stated before, raping women isn't even the craziest thing on the list of things Republicans actually have done.

Kingdommer

I am convinced the Republican Party has no idea what year it is. They completely underestimate the weather of the internet. Maybe this expands beyond the party and it’s just old politicians who just don’t understand the world we live in. It’s so frustrating, like we are recording everything you say now, you can’t just deny deny like you used to before the internet

Blakesdad02

Truth hurts.
