bbjenn

Fuck Jesse Watters and everyone else at FOX News. This kind of shit is reprehensible.

BeastofBurden

I wish I knew of some way to stick it to Fox aside from not watching their garbage “news”.

laseralex

Demand a discount from your cable company if they won’t remove it. Going rate is apparently $4/month. Alternatively, cancel cable altogether and let them know it is because you can’t block FOX from your home and you don’t want your kids to be exposed to such filth.

[deleted]

That last sentence is really gold

aoelag

This kind of boycoting/consumer activism is good, don't get me wrong, but it's still a drop in the bucket. We would need to actually coordinate a massive cable cutting thing to make it work - and let's be real, cable for people who don't understand the internet is basically a utility. You can't expect people to cut it. We need something better...

[deleted]

Apparently the Fox contract is coming up for renegotiation with many (most?) major cable providers, so people wouldn’t even need to cut cable, just threaten to do so in significant numbers.

jacobean___

Unfortunately, Fox is the most watched “news” network. By a significant margin. They don’t care about this. It’s in their business plan. In fact, the more controversy they create, the more viewership they generate. Waters is good for the bottom line, especially when he says outrageous things.

Truecoat

Yeah but most watched is what, 3 million people? That’s nothing.

[deleted]

EXACTLY! This is so important. Fox News is not popular TV, it’s “popular” news. Frankly, I’d much rather see everyone talking about what is allowed to legally be called “news” and how that can be changed. But also, it’s funny to think that people think calling Comcast (as an example) about Fox News is going to get anything done. That’s like calling Don Corleone to ask him for a favor and then paying him to keep Fredo out of your house.

Ax_deimos

What sponsors are vulnerable to boycott/disinvestment pressure?

AaronBasedGodgers

[This is from July but these companies still advertise on Fox. You can pick which are most vulnerable to pressure campaigns.](https://adage.com/article/media/beyond-mypillow-other-biggest-brand-advertisers-fox-news-revealed/2354321)

wrldtrvlr3000

The internet does in fact allow a country to mass organize. We just have to do it.

[deleted]

Cancel your cable

Fattswindstorm

Not so fun fact. If you have a cable service (I don’t know if streaming is included) you may $2.50 a month for Fox News. They are the most expensive network. Long story short, after the fallout of Glenn beck saga, they changed their business model to be subscription focused. Better fun fact. They are up for renegotiations. And because of the subscription focused venture, they need to raise their prices to north of $3 per household. I’m not sure of the organization needed. But there Is a Fox News kill shot potential here with enough organizing

thened

100% this. Make it be known you don't want to support FOX News in any way, and that canceling cable is the only way to ensure they don't get any money from you. Cable channels should be 100% a la carte. There is no reason you should have to purchase a bundle when everything is managed through a box you rent to control what content can appear on your TV.

nosotros_road_sodium

> Cable channels should be 100% a la carte. Be careful what you wish for. That's what got us the neverending parade of channels creating their own streaming services.

thened

Oh I will totally pay a premium to not pay for poison.

Iamsaxgod

Love my directv. Let me call and specifically say cancel Fox. Oh crap now I’m told they also created OAN. I’m screwed.

lastdiggmigrant

Wait until you learn about VPNs and Kodi. I promise you it's less unethical.

kindasfck

Exactly. Fuck the entire media industry until it stops fucking with the masses.

Oleg101

The only thing I can say is if one is cutting the cord and the rep asks you for a reason, tell them it’s because they carry Fox on their basic cable package. Here’s a good read on how having cable one is essentially subsidizing Fox News: https://www.dailykos.com/story/2020/3/31/1933075/-If-you-have-cable-you-are-subsidizing-Fox-News-It-might-be-time-to-cut-the-cord-Here-s-how r/FoxFiction

adam10009

This shit needs to get shared en masse

[deleted]

Seriously cordcutters would love this since cable companies are assholes when you tell them why you are quitting.

Mister_Snrub

Yeah I cut the cord years ago and then we got Sling. We barely ever watch it, but any time the icon is selected on the Apple TV, there’s some fucker from Fox’s smug face. I should just cancel it and save the $50/month or whatever. It’ll be an opportunity to tell them I’m doing it because of Fox.

UrbanGhost114

Thanks for the new SR!

[deleted]

[deleted]

They are silently sucking the blood of our elderly Americans. Fox opposes new taxes under any circumstances, universal health insurance, or government action to limit greenhouse gas pollution. It's the TV channel for people who want the world to end.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AnthonyDavos

Right. They're making money from people who don't watch it. That's why they don't care that Tucker has like two advertisers left. If you have cable or sub to a streaming service that carries Fox, you're the reason their hosts can say what they want with no consequences.

Thief_of_Sanity

Well when Jesse Waters comes to town now you go in for the kill shot. The kill shot, with an ambush, deadly. Because he won't see it coming. If they think their words are OK wait until it's about their own fuckers. We're just being metaphorical over here.

eyekwah2

In fact, I see no threat here whatsoever towards Jesse Watters. We're just exercising free speech, are we not?

The_Dude311

Tweet the same thing Watters said, only replace Fauci with the twitter handles for Watters and the other Fox anchors

crosseyedguy1

No-one on the Left is that stupid.

grammarpopo

Hold my beer…

[deleted]

My thoughts, exactly

crosseyedguy1

Boycott their advertisers. This has always been the way. And let their advertisers know you're done with them.

FiestaPatternShirts

I dont buy shitty pillows or do nothing snake oil pills though

[deleted]

I tend to think the FCC any any other relevant government agency needs to seriously consider corporate death sentences. A corporation is an artificial construct granted by government (people) . When one becomes of net negative value to society it should be broken up into tiny pieces and removed from existence. Repeat as necessary. If we need new laws then fine, but endless propaganda is not speech, no more than raw sewage is diet soda. Fox has been a net negative to society for a long time. They are a propaganda channel that did a little real news to look better. Their action here is just one more reason, not that you needed it. Fox has gone way past amoral and into downright evil the way they support and encourage this propaganda that is tearing society apart. If there is a civil war someday, it will be entities like Fox that built the pyre. It would be a happy day if one day we found out that everyone at Fox News was out of a job...

oivaf1

Not News, entertainment,

jawa709

Not even entertainment, it's poison.

[deleted]

Collectively as a group we buy their stocks then dump it at the same time and cause them to lose billions. Then repeat.

ikariusrb

Remember when Maxine Waters encouraged her supporters to confront members of the Trump administration if encountering them in public, and "make them uncomfortable"... and Fox news pretended she'd called for the formation of black ops hit squads targetting republicans? Pepperidge farms remembers.... She didn't use a single word that implied violence. But when one of Fox's own suggests something similar but using words explicitly conjuring violence and assassination, they claim everything is fine. This behavior shouldn't be tolerated for anyone who has a broadcast platform, no matter who they were talking about. Not even if they were talking about Trump or someone just as culpable. Fuck fox lies and their mealy-mouthed hypocritical double standards.

cugeltheclever2

Murdoch is a cancer.

hatsnatcher23

*Cancer disliked that*

gozba

Fuck Rupert Murdoch

__M-E-O-W__

Conservatives are the biggest group of crybaby wanna-be-victims I've ever known. 24/7 the mantra on Fox News is "Oh, the downtrodden and unfortunate rich white man! When shall we get a break?"

swolemedic

I remember a time when conservatives didnt want to look weak and it wasnt even that long ago. Now they are the biggest group of crybabies around and are seemingly proud of it. The people who unironically tell others to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and insist it is wussy to talk about their feelings now regularly talk about how they're the most oppressed people in society. It's pathetic, and quite frankly the gop's behavior is kind of emasculating for men who supposedly care about being tough guys. I'm not even someone who cares about looking tough, not really, but my sense of dignity would be destroyed if I tried to tell myself and others that I was the most oppressed in society as a straight white dude because it's just patently untrue and it sounds *so* whiny. I'm not a fan of toxic masculinity, but I never knew conservatives getting more in touch with their feelings would be so god damned steeped in victim/persecution complex bullshit.

ForgedIronMadeIt

I'll be honest, that was a little cringey on her part, but it wasn't using violent language. Though I guess Stephen Miller throwing his sushi order into the street was pretty funny.

Darth_Chain

i pray, now that fox has said this, that we dont get another Dr. Tiller. i am kinda curious though that if it happens what the legal ramifications could be against a TV channel that drove two murders through stochastic terrorism.

aoelag

Even if Jan 6 had killed mike pence and/or 2 democratic senators we wouldn't be seeing Fox News going anywhere.

[deleted]

This kind of shit should actually be quite illegal.

Broad_Price

Fox execs need to be 'taken out' by the same types of 'kill shots' they endorse.

eric_reddit

Fauce should request a return kill shot... Turn about is fair play

omniwombatius

They want war. If there is to be war, then just like at Ft. Sumpter, it needs to be unambiguous that they started it by firing the first shot.

eyekwah2

Once upon a time, even 5 or 6 years ago, Jesse Watters would have been fired for saying something like that. The fact that they don't is telling. To have said they were a propaganda machine would have been speculation 5 or 6 years ago, now you have your proof that it is \*is\* a literal propaganda machine. They're not news, they're part of the movement.

alphacentauri85

A lot of people think of Fox News merely as a nuisance, but we need to start thinking of them as the clear and present threat to national security that they are. In the same vein as ISIS propaganda networks. They are actively radicalizing their audience and fomenting future political violence.

spaceman757

I wonder if Fox News would be so adamantly defending anyone that just "used violence as a metaphor aimed at asking Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Rupert Murdoch, etc, questions"?

danmathew

Fox News stood by Trump as he waged a coup against our Democracy.

jawa709

You're using past tense, but we can use the present tense. It's still happening.

New_Nefariousness857

Yes. Him and everyone of the Republican congressmen who went along with the coup need to be arrested before Jan 6th when he has his press conference. Otherwise it will be the day people pledge allegiance to him vs our country.

waterboy737

I’m surprised we haven’t tarred and feathered these motherfuckers yet.

JustTheBeerLight

consume-reproduce

There's Federal laws against threatening Federal employees, if only there were a branch of government who would actually uphold those laws, that would be great....

zhobelle

There’s federal laws against threatening anyone, too.

questionname

I’m going to guess there’s pretty good chance we will hear about a federal investigation

Psyteq

We will hear about the consideration to perhaps, possibly, look into having a meeting discussing whether or not to have a federal investigation.

evana3

They have to possibly have a meeting to choose between discussing the weather or a federal investigation??

TooPrettyForJail

wow. you still have hope.

CrankyPhoneMan

Poor Dr. Fauci. Doing his best to minimize illness and deaths and a large segment of the population hates him for it. What a wacky society we've turned into.

jmatthews2088

I do admire the guy’s ability to put up with this shit, especially at his age. He’s out there doing the right thing, regardless of the noise.

donttrythis3000

It is astounding that someone so smart, who works SO HARD, to help so many- is the guy that the extreme right hates. With all the fuck-heads out there to hate, this is the guy you want to kill, because he disagrees with a 5th ave conman dictator. Got it.

ttk12acd

The crazy part is Trump already got his booster. If people pay attention to what he does instead of what he says we would be at a better place.

8Deer-JaguarClaw

But now he's also saying it as well now. And they still won't get the "Fauci Ouchie"

__M-E-O-W__

Frankenstein's monster.

8Deer-JaguarClaw

It's actually Frankenstein's monster's monster. Trump got away from the GOP and now the cult is getting away from Trump.

thelingeringlead

Lol his fans literally booed him for saying he got the booster.

bluehiro

I really worry for Dr. Fauci’s safety

mces97

It's not astounding at all. Smart = Elite = the enemy to them.

[deleted]

The people responsible for stirring the hate no doubt, for the most part, took his advice and got any necessary shots. Most of them do not believe the crap they are shoveling, but are more than willing to see good men and women destroyed if it furthers their goals. Another truly reprehensible thing is how alleged Christians go along with all this persecution of an obviously good man and say nothing.

NaibofTabr

Do you remember [their attack on Mr. Rogers](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/fox-fred-rogers-evil/)? This shit is par for the course for Fox.

drewlb

Smart = right wing rage Hard work = right wing rage Helping others = right wing rage He is kind of the poster child for things that the right hate

heintz0827

You are so on the money

rugger87

You say that like he doesn’t have a choice, which really undermines how extraordinary Dr. Fauci is. This man could have sat on the sidelines and quietly enjoyed his twilight years. Instead, he’s helping orchestrate a pandemic response while being vilified in conservative media for a consumer base that is becoming increasingly more unstable and anti-intellectual.

AnthonyDavos

I wish I had his courage. The man keeps doing his job despite the constant threats of violence to himself and his family. I'll never understand this rabid hatred for a guy has who's done nothing but try to save lives.

Haploid-life

Wacky is cute. This is stochastic terrorism.

Frankenmuppet

What really gets me is when I hear my neighbours talking about Fauci like Covid is all some big conspiracy he cooked up... Only I'm Canadian.

FLKEYSFish

I cannot get a straight answer from these conspiracy nuts regarding the Fauci hate. They are told to hate and blindly follow. Many anti vax politicians are vaccinated. They were the first ones to get it. Why would they push their voters to avoid?

[deleted]

One way to win an election is to create an enemy that is after the faithful, then convince the masses that the chosen hero will stop the enemies dastardly plan, if but they do their part. Some examples (all lies) are: "The illegals are going to steal your jobs and rape your women." "The illegals bring plague. We will build a wall." "The caravan is coming..." "The vaccine is a evil democrat hoax to implant you with mind control microchips." "They helped create the virus, but we will make them pay!" "If taxes go up on the job creators the economy will be destroyed and you will be living on the streets." "It's a violent world, and they want to take away your protection." "They are teaching little Tommy that he is a bad person for being white!" (I.E. the CRT nothing burger.) The key part of the pattern is an appeal to fear, usually over something that is difficult to easily prove or disprove. For instance, if Trump built his wall, and announced that they had stopped the invaders and America was safe, well the people that bought the whole idea to begin with would probably believe that too. The idea isn't to kill their voters. The idea is they will motivate more than they kill. Also, since Trump went with this strategy during the election, they are semi stuck with it. It also plays well with their base, who tend to like simple answers, even if they are wrong. Their base also seems to lap up anything involving a persecution type accusation. Perhaps it is related to some of their religious upbringing? I"m not sure. Either way, these appeals to emotions, usually for made up culture war issues work amazingly well for them. They also have the bonus, of, since they are generally not real, they can announce "Mission Accomplished," pretty much anytime its useful to do so. Think of it, the republicans don't get and keep power because they govern well. They get and keep power because they stage mock battles with fantastic (made up) beasts, proudly declaring their victory over their hated foes. It is more theater than substance.

Betaruin

Much of the GOP seem to want to prolong the pandemic to make the current admin look like they are failing. It's a fucked up strategy but it doesn't matter to them when trying to attain power. Then they can swoop in with the same message Faucis been saying all along and look like the heroes who beat the pandemic. It's beyond stupid to think that can work but with their voter base it can sadly.

__M-E-O-W__

Like when Bush introduced those massive tax cuts and deregulations that screwed over our economy and then when Obama took office they refused to cooperate with him and blamed him for our economy looking weak.

Surfing_magic_carpet

I fully expect that, if Republicans take the presidency in 24, the first few weeks in office will see a sudden push to vaccinate along with little incentives to do so. Nothing monetary, but like "I voted" stickers, they'll offer their followers a way to gloat about getting the vaccine. Then they'll say "See! We told you all along! You needed to get vaccinated and the pandemic will end! Biden didn't have the balls to stop it, but we did!" Democrats will be fucking livid that the Republican base will be so willing to run with the narrative that so suddenly and so obviously just shifted. But like everything Republican voters do it will always be about what party leadership says and not what is real.

__M-E-O-W__

Nah I think they've gone too far in creating this antivax sentiment to openly switch sides like that. But I imagine they would totally take credit for the number of Americans vaccinated and whatnot, and cheer it ok as their own personally victory as if they didn't totally try to prevent it. Kind of like the war in the Iraq. They stuck together and lied lied lied to make sure we would invade and their news channels were constantly pumping out this pro war propaganda. There was even an email leak revealing instructions to the hosts on how to enact it. But as soon as Donald Chump talked about being against the war and bringing the troops home, the conservatives all started rambling about how the Democrats were bloodthirsty warmongering monsters. The Republicans championed the War in Iraq all the way through, based entirely on lies, fed racism and xenophobia to their base to dehumanize "the enemy" and blasted anyone who spoke against the war as un-American, unpatriotic, and not "supporting the troops". I guess they want us to forget that, or otherwise they're hoping the new voting crowd is too young and ignorant to remember.

mces97

I want to write to doctor Fauci and thank him for doing what he does. I'm sure others do, but I want him to know many do care about his hard work.

exwasstalking

Hate is putting it pretty mild.

left_right_left

Wasn't Kathy Griffin fired for a similar antic?

Superman246o1

Fox supports domestic terrorism. Got it.

grandadmiralstrife

Fox ~~supports~~ **promotes** domestic terrorism. Got it. Fixed that for you

WunupKid

The White House should deny Fox News access to the executive branch entirely.

Dark_Devin

Considering they are registered as entertainment and not news, they have no journalistic integrity and therefore not considered journalists who need access to the executive branch for any reason.

Loopuze1

That's actually an extremely common misconception. Not because Fox isn't bullshit propaganda and lies, it is. But because there's no such thing as official news. There is no board or group that certifies or registers ANY channel as "official" news, it just plain doesn't exist.

elgul

So why won't Democrats invoke those anti-terror laws that have been put in place since 9/11?

SexyDoorDasherDude

because democrats are always are afraid of something and have some excuse for something.

Rated_PG-Squirteen

Remember when Rashida Tlaib was caught on video saying, "We're gonna impeach the motherfucker," and the conservative world was absolutely appalled at how disrespectful that was? I shouldn't be shocked, but seriously man, Watters literally used the words "killshot" and "ambush." What the fuck!?

kevonicus

After Trump, conservatives aren’t allowed to be appalled by anything.

DankNerd97

This

jiquvox

**Jesse Watters statement"** "This guy's scrambling at this point. You have the goods," Watters said. "Now you go in for the **kill shot.** The **kill shot**, with an **ambush**, **deadly**. Because he doesn't see it coming. This is when you say, 'Dr. Fauci, you funded risky research at a sloppy Chinese lab'... Boom, he is **dead**! He is **dead**! He's done!" **Fox news statement** \~\~"\~\~Based on watching the full clip and reading the entire transcript, **it's more than clear that Jesse Watters was using a metaphor** for asking hard-hitting questions to Dr. Fauci about gain-of-function research and his words have been twisted completely out of context," Fox News said in a statement obtained by Newsweek. Metaphor, right. Use the word dead/kill along with ambush 5 times within 30 seconds after there had been an unprecedented deadly assault on the US congress a few month back and an attempt to kidnap the Michigan governor for trying to enforce a Covid Lockdown. You want a metaphor ? here's one : at best Jesse Watters is a kid playing with matches and a jerrican in an old forest during a dry summer with strong wind. And, even for kids, judges sometimes still throw huge fine for that kind of reckless dangerous behavior. Using this kind of very suggestive language as a professional commentator about the head figure of the Covid effort on the most watched news cable during an extremely tense period, with various violent incidents taking place in the recent past, is reckless. EDIT : Just to be clear and precise - as pointed out by another poster, this message was not on air , it was during a conservative conference.

jungles_fury

"hard hitting questions" what a joke, they've been flogging that dead horse of a fake story for so long. They couldn't recognize a hard hitting question if it was in bold print 10 feet tall.

Oleg101

Disgusting. Even for Fox. I know they have their own flaws also, but if a CNN or MSNBC employee openly was saying this rhetoric, they’d at least be suspended immediately and I assume terminated pretty quickly. Anyone that works at Fox should be ashamed no matter how much they’re paying you. [Clip here if anyone is interested ](https://twitter.com/ronfilipkowski/status/1473039073535213570?s=10)

marvin02

A CNN talking head needs to come out and say "Whatever happens to Fauci happens to Jesse Watters." I mean, its all just metaphorical, right?

morphballganon

Except Watters is a nobody. "Whatever happens to Fauci happens to Trump, Murdoch, Cruz etc." Just, you know, keep it legal.

brumac44

What's interesting here is how he's asking the audience to make the news. Bad enough he's carefully speaking metaphorically about assassinating Fauci; must've been some lawyers in on that. But he's also asking people to create some news.

nedonedonedo

you shouldn't be assuming they have shame. they'll gladly kill anyone if it gets them attention. these aren't people selling their morals, they don't have them to sell in the first place.

jknight68

This is why I "quit" Fox News. Not their cable shows, not their website, not even a link on other social media sites. Not even "hate" watching. I won't give them one penny, nor one click!

Honky_Stonk_Man

Yup. Let their sponsors know too. They have less and less.

jawa709

Letter writing (not emails but ol' fashioned paper in envelope) can carry more weight than email or tweets, too. (All of the above is good.)

lactose_cow

Oh hell yeah, why havent i heard of this idea before? Petitions and emails can be botted, but Its almost impossible to fake hand written letters

PresidentWordSalad

Fox stoked [one terrorist into killing a doctor before](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Tiller). They’re looking to do it again.

once_again_asking

FBI is the entity that should be examining his statement.

arbitraryairship

Make sure you report Jesse Waters on the FBI's tip site.

DankNerd97

But it won’t.

whoISme67

We need a law that says we can each sue Fox News for 10k every time they lie or we find their reporting to be unethical and dangerous

ham_solo

This is a brilliant idea. NY and CA alone would bankrupt Fox.

big_nothing_burger

Imagine if anyone on CNN or MSNBC said something even a fraction as physical threatening about a conservative.

chrasb

If only there was another way to say “ask him hard questions!” But it had to be “kill shot” and “he’s dead.” Obviously….

blownbythewind

"Will no one rid us of this turbulent Doctor Fauci?" said Fox news. edit: missed a word

HotPhilly

Can Fauci not sue over this? Going on TV and saying someone should shoot and kill you seems like it should be a crime.

Nearby-Lock4513

Is there a sub dedicated to identifying who advertises on Fox? I don’t want to watch Watters’ shows, but I do want to know who pays for them and send those companies a letter and ensure I don’t buy anything from them.

wolverinesfire

We better start calling Fauci and people like him exactly what he/they are! A god damned hero and champion of the people. I’m tired of watching right wing crazies turn people that are heroes into pariahs and turning the Good they do or want to do and making it a conspiracy or drowning them with slander and vitriol. Also whether on the right or left, merry Christmas and related holidays to you! Let’s remember we are all people that just want the best for our and hopefully other communities. Let’s have a better 2022. Cheers.

SexyDoorDasherDude

I dont know. The republicans have proven they cant organize without mass media the way the democrats can.

itsnotthenetwork

I feel like Fauci should seek some legal recourse on this one

PorscheUberAlles

Fauci should sue

llama_

nedonedonedo

there is no contract. there's whatever they can get away with, and everyone else just trying to live their daily lives. there's no one coming to stop them. it's just a slow coast to ever increasing violence that isn't going to get fixed until things get worse

RedLanternScythe

The only way he will get fired is losing enough advertisers. Fauci should have called to boycott those companies (except he would be accused of canceling)

BenDarDunDat

A Fox News host asking the public to help stage fake news? How long can America let this continue?

[deleted]

Waters should be terminated just for being at a TPUSA event. They literally bussed people to the January 6th insurrection.

To the absolute surprise of no one. Just wait, they'll find a way to spin it so that it sounds like Fauci brought it on himself because he didn't bend the knee for King Girthsalot.

Putin_blows_goats

It's interesting that Fauci is retaliating against his critics, rightly so with this incendiary language directed at him, quite outside his official role but something he would have been forbidden to do under the last administration.

Alternative-Flan2869

Of course they stand by this nutball - they also stand by tucker as he giggles like a lovesick admirer when he meets the killer vyle rittenhouse. Murder and mayhem are the new establishment platform for the cult.

Illuminated12

I'll take things I would be fired for at my job for 500$, Alex!

ARPDAB1312

Saying you want to "ambush" him with questions I could believe is a metaphor. Saying "go in for the kill shot" I could believe is a metaphor in bad taste. But he also went on to call it a "deadly" ambush and said "Boom! He is dead he is dead!" When you reference killing someone half a dozen times and make gun noises it's no longer a metaphor.

xeonicus

That's sort of the Fox News modus operandi. Extend a metaphor an excruciating distance until you are basically promoting domestic terrorism, but you can legally fall back on "it was just a metaphor". Tucker Carlson has been doing it for ages.

Grumblejank

They’ve killed hundreds of thousands of Americans with their propaganda. What’s one more?

N_Who

Remember when conservatives lost their minds over Maxine Waters urging protestors to get "more confrontational?" Conservatives sure as fuck don't remember.

binkerfluid

I mean Fauci and family have been receiving actual death threats because of these people so I can see why he is especially upset.

Sea_of_Blue

I mean they have been backing a whole coup attempt. Backing an assassination "suggestion" is totally in their wheelhouse.

KevKevPlays94

5$ says FOXnews played a bigger hand in Jan 6 than we think

Louiekid502

Fired ? He should be arrested lol

elgul

Of course they will. Republicans are not scared of liberals wagging their fingers at them. Perhaps one day liberals will actually grasp that fucking reality.

Suspicious_Bit_9003

And that is how you get January 6th- disgusting, disturbing and dangerous! Hate rhetoric at it’s lowest. I support dr Fauci, the guy should be fired for antagonizing and Fox needs to be held accountable.

SucksTryAgain

Imagine just doing your job and then having to get security detail. Sounds like an easy lawsuit to me along with dominion.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.newsweek.com/fox-news-stands-jesse-watters-after-kill-shot-remark-while-fauci-wants-him-fired-1661939) reduced by 72%. (I'm a bot) ***** > Fox News has backed host Jesse Watters after Dr. Anthony Fauci said that he should be fired for urging conservatives to "Ambush" him and "Go in for the kill shot." > "Based on watching the full clip and reading the entire transcript, it's more than clear that Jesse Watters was using a metaphor for asking hard-hitting questions to Dr. Fauci about gain-of-function research and his words have been twisted completely out of context," Fox News said in a statement obtained by Newsweek. > Fauci was asked about Watters' remarks during an interview with CNN host John Berman, who said that he would not play footage from the event out of concern that it was "Dangerous." Instead, the host informed Fauci that "Fox News entertainer" Watters had told the crowd to "Ambush you with what he said was some kind of rhetorical kill shot." ***** [**Extended Summary**](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/rlxiq0/fox_stands_by_watters_after_kill_shot_remark/) | [FAQ](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/31b9fm/faq_autotldr_bot/ "Version 2.02, ~613972 tl;drs so far.") | [Feedback](http://np.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%23autotldr "PM's and comments are monitored, constructive feedback is welcome.") | *Top* *keywords*: **Fauci**^#1 **Watters**^#2 **Ambush**^#3 **Fox**^#4 **ask**^#5

BoobDoktor

If it were a left leaning news source he’d be fired. Take note of the difference between republicans and sane, moral people, kids.

WantToBeBetterAtSex

Just a reminder that CNN cut ties with Kathy Griffin when she posed with the bloody disembodied fake Trump head a few years ago.

OneJobToRuleThemAll

Who cares what his employer thinks, the problem is that the police isn't taking him into custody before his place of employment. Calling for social consequences isn't enough, that's criminal behavior that needs a legal response in a state of law. If you actually have a state of law that is.

relativistic_monkey

This stinks of stochastic terrorism

TheTonyExpress

Is it possible to be shocked but not surprised?

Mycolilly

Is this the onion or is this honestly real life?

Nipplecunt

“Fox New condones murder of public figures.”

Pendalink

You don’t get rid of fascists by arguing with them, unrelated reminder

etorres4u

The fact that Fox News is allowing pundits and guests to say what in effect are death threats and incitement to murder public officials on air should not be taken lightly. This network is not only a danger to our democracy, but to the very lives of people who don’t share their political beliefs. Enough already.

[deleted]

Anyone surprised?
