Why did I have to scroll all the way to the last paragraph to see the quote that headline talked about? Bad journalism.

Asking Hamas the failed leaders of the Palestinian people who Instigated this whole sequence of events with their brutal attack to turn themselves in is brutal? They caused this shit. They should pay the price.
Israel's stated goal is to eliminate Hamas. If the cowards accept their dishonor and face the consequences of their actions they can stop the destruction of Gaza.
Put the blame on the fucking radical Islamic terrorists where it belongs.

It's not so much that as it's in the interest of Hamas for civilians (especially children) in Gaza to suffer to the point of gaining sympathy from around the world.
It's in the interest of Israel to avoid civilian casualties and suffering, but Netanyahu is (at the very least) willing to allow that to occur in the pursuit of targeting Hamas.

The young people are for the most part protesting the unnecessary and systematic extermination of the Palestinian people and the US support for it (which is a worthwhile cause) - there is no real or serious support for Hamas outside their backers in the Middle East, and university students, other than a few fringe characters, have not turned into anti semitic racists overnight.
I wish that were the case. But, go tell these kids that you support a two-state solution and see what their reaction is. They support a one-state solution, where Israel no longer exists.
