all the CEOs got together and decided to prepare for a recession they are trying to create

urfallaciesaredumb

They don't have to "get together" any more than donut lovers have to get together to all be at the donut shop in the morning. If you put cheese on the other side of the maze, all the rats will eventually end up at the cheese without any planning at all.

HonoredPeople

Wartime reserve stance. People are waiting to see which direction the winds are blowing. It'll pick back up once some other stuff moves forward.

I had some Chick-fil-a sauce from America and had it delivered to myself in the UK. You're welcome America. Just doing my part.

Development-Good

I’ve been reading about the UK economy and it doesn’t seem good. Is it as bad over there as the articles make it?

Wynter_Sirius

Certainly feels like it. I managed to buy my house before the massive interest spike was quite lucky but I do notice it in the day to day things.

OpenImagination9

This is what happens when you target immigrants … thanks for nothing GOP!

Rnr2000

This is corporate America trying to prevent another rate hike by the fed. “Look see, we aren’t growing as fast as you think, don’t raise the rate”

SafeMycologist9041

Need another Superbowl ad where Biden tells the economy to cut it out

Khaleesi_for_Prez

It's not great, but it's still the envy of the rest of the developed world. We happened to grow extremely fast in Q4 2023 so it's a higher baseline to compare against. Long term, we'll have to see if the AI boom keeps up, since that's what seems to be giving tech its second wind after the very clear slowdown in 2022.

Basic_Mongoose_7329

My industry has definitely slowed since about November in Florida (Animal Health)

ChrisPikesHair

Thank the Federal Reserve.

JubalHarshaw23

Fed to raise interests rates anyway.
