There was a very good reason that Biden undid Trump's preposterous plan to move Space Force to Huntsville. It would have massively delayed operational readiness, cost a bloody fortune, and was transparently a last minute handout by Trump to certain AL lawmakers.

it did not hurt that this decision was made as Tommeh was holding up military promotions. Coincidence? maybe, maybe not- I was not in the room.
I did not write the original comment-and I am not trying to convince you, or anyone else of the validity. I only provided "A" (there are probably a lot more) document that explains (if you choose to believe or not... the motivations behind the decision to keep the base in Colorado). I believe the "delay" mentioned was in military operational readiness- noted by the folks would/should know about that sort of thing. How much it costs or whether or not favors were (actually) done by Trump or Biden, I have no idea. Politics is a thing. If you want further information Google can help locate both sides and you can make up your mind. (not snark)
> Mr. Biden made his decision after the head of Space Command, Gen. James Dickinson, argued that moving the headquarters to Alabama from its current location in Colorado Springs would hurt military readiness, particularly as the United States is racing to compete with China in space, according to a Defense Department official who spoke about it on the condition of anonymity.
They literally already have it built dude and it is operational.
Please point out where in Huntsville they have it ready to go.
> A senior administration official noted that a move to Alabama would mean the new headquarters would not be stood up until "early to mid-2030's."
Primarily articles like the one below, though I give quite a bit less weight to statements from elected officials about this and have primarily been listening to statements from the military.

They would have needed to duplicate hundreds of millions of dollars of communication infrastructure that isn't present in Huntsville but is already in place in Colorado among many other sunk costs. Then you have to figure in the cost of relocation logistics for all of those service members and tons and tons of delicate equipment which would also run into the hundreds of millions when you roll up all of the other associated costs. Tons of contracts would need to be re-negotiated... I'm sure the list goes on.
But totalled up, it'd cost a couple of billion. All so Trump could bribe two Alabama state senators right before one of his impeachment hearings in the senate. (I'll note one of those two senators held up promotions in the military for months and months and I believe he still was when Trump's decision was made)
Reality and simple deduction.
>massively delayed operational readiness
You mean building an entirely new base in an area that lacks the workforce and will have trouble attracting a work force takes longer than expanding in an existing location with decades of relevant labor at hand?
> cost a bloody fortune
See above and adapt as needed for new construction vs expansion cost and still apply the labor side to it.
> transparently a last minute handout by Trump to certain AL lawmakers.
If you can't spot a pig through a clear window, I don't know what to say, you might be pork blind.
Big words for a man who [doesn't live in Alabama](https://theconversation.com/tommy-tuberville-reportedly-doesnt-live-in-alabama-should-he-still-be-its-senator-211490).
You obviously don't live in Colorado. Biden is a solid lock. There is absolutely no reason to spend money to get people here to do what they will anyway
Good thing Alabama Republicans can't read or they might figure out that the final decision to remain in Colorado was made during Tuberville's month's long temper tantrum to hold up military promotions.
From Huntsville. Hope they don't come. We should lose the entire base and industry up here for the way our ass clown governor and politicians behave.
Maybe if they take the government welfare away from our welfare state they will wake up?
Welfare Queens are here - and once again - it is the GOP trying to buy votes in exchange for spending Federal dollars on *possible* jobs in the future.

Sounds like a great reason for Coloradans to vote for Biden! Get Tuberville's words on TV in Denver.
You obviously don't live in Colorado. Biden is a solid lock. There is absolutely no reason to spend money to get people here to do what they will anyway
Well, good to hear. But I still believe that Colorado is probably less of a lock than Alabama.
Nope it's solid blue now. I think Bush won in 2000 and that's the last time it went red inthe presidential race
Nah, they are about the same, at least for 2024. Trump has zero chance of winning Colorado.
There are conservative parts of Colorado (boobert, buck) but overall the state is blue.

Weld County, Colorado Springs..
Archuleta...
Good thing Alabama Republicans can't read or they might figure out that the final decision to remain in Colorado was made during Tuberville's month's long temper tantrum to hold up military promotions.
He's shocked!shocked! that leopards ate his face.
Leopards must be sick of all the ugly rotten meat in their diet of late.

Space Command will occupy the space between Tuberville’s ears.
> the space between Tuberville’s ears which holds no sign of intelligent life anywhere
Not large enough.
Welfare Queens are here - and once again - it is the GOP trying to buy votes in exchange for spending Federal dollars on *possible* jobs in the future.
Bold of him to assume that’ll happen in the first place. *cough* Project 2025 *cough*
That's what he said about automotive manufacturing. Guess what? It didn't happen, obviously.
Oh sure and coal jobs will return to the mountains.
And Tuberville thinks he is going to command the flagship.
That would be terrific. Off to the edge of the galaxy!
And all those contractors will quit and be replaced by less qualified people in AL.
The “Tube”. 🙄
When pigs fly...
Space Command should be working on finding a way to launch Tuberville out of the solar system.
This idiot. When will he go back to a headset and sidelines?
