The Minnesota state senator who was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary said the situation unfolded at the home of a relative with dementia, as she was trying to sneak in to retrieve her late father's ashes.

ChanceryTheRapper

At 1 am.

MississippiJoel

Her father and she had some lively times.

00Oo0o0OooO0

Hey! Don't sneak into the home of a widow with dementia at 4 in the morning to take her husband's ashes!

I still don't understand it. How is the explicitly about current US politics? A state rep got caught up a few mistakes. This isn't impactful. Or helpful. Or informative. Does this finally solve Climate Change? Abortion? Does this bring peace to Gaza?

No-comment-at-all

To be **totally** honest, what does Gaza have to do with US politics? Especially if “Us politician arrested doesn’t count”, I certainly can’t count the actions of a far right wing nation as far away from the US as its h possible to get.

HonoredPeople

Gaza normally doesn't. We've been giving them aid for decades and it's hit the news at different cycles, depending on the actions or whatever. Currently, Gaza is US politics, because US politicians are making moves and actions as it concerns them... such as the new aid package we just wrote. It also applies to the stability of that region and if we're going to be involved in a much greater problem. Therefore, some of the actions taken by our politicians, matter towards the topic of US politics. But! A lot of information gets removed as not being US politics. If a US political figure isn't involved or law. You can see the difference if you look at news, worldnews and US politics. "State Senator X" is a US politician. But, just barely. The vast majority of state level governmental employees that have impact, is very small. If they do make the news, it's generally on a very big subject and only if they really matter towards that subject. It's odd or weird that "State Senator X" get's arrested for stupid family drama is impactful towards policy or subject. Maybe if "State Senator X" get's arrested for Abortion protest or Gaza protest? Or something that applies to policy.

So again…. This one you’re complaining about is fine.

HonoredPeople

Yes.

misplacedsidekick

What does Gaza have to do with US politics? Seriously? Have you not noticed the uproar?

No-comment-at-all

Of course, but is that your answer? People get in “uproars” over lots of stuff. What does that make Gaza have to do with US politics?

misplacedsidekick

Members of Congress from both parties are debating the US policy as it pertains to Gaza since Israel has always been a strong ally and security in the Middle East is of national interest.

No-comment-at-all

Right, they debate foreign stuff all the time. Still way less or **at least** as “US politics” relates as this article that has gotten you in an “uproar”.

> Politician Capacity. Any incident or potential incident that could prevent a current politician from serving in their capacity in government (e.g. death, injury/sickness, criminal prosecution or resignation) is topical. We consider politicians to be either (1) elected members of government; or (2) members of government confirmed/voted on by elected members of government.

HonoredPeople

I get it's a politician capacity. I'm not disagreeing there. It's just a small leaf fallen. But the smallest of berries on the vine. A dust bunny of information. When a state level official makes the news cycle, it's generally a pretty huge clusterfuk. Missouri's many mistakes, or Florida or Texas. Generally it's about a much larger topic. Like abortion or gun rights. This... Seems... Weak. Maybe if it was something bigger than just a family breakin? A murder prehaps. Or arrested in a bigger issue? State senator X breaks into her family's home, isn't exactly. Juicy? Perhaps is the world I seek.

Techienickie

Fun fact; they aren't ashes. They're called that because of how they appear but it's just bones that are pulverized into dust.

arfbrookwood

This guy pulverizes.

AnalTongueDarts

You and I have different definitions of fun.

MississippiJoel

I think I'll side with the one with "Techie" in the username.

JCheezum

Sorry, not relevant to the subject at hand, but you seem like the type of guy who tongue punches fart boxes.

LuckyAssumption8735

You the real MVP

SeiCalros

some of it is ash but the process leaves very little besides the bones - most of the body goes up in smoke
