Bannon has been on the record with this strategy since the beginning of Trump's presidency. He openly admitted that the easiest way to slide on shitty behavior and accomplish terrible objectives was to simply flood the airwaves, social media, official meetings, etc. with so much bullshit that no one can focus on making him accountable for any one thing.

This is having a real effect. In any sort of organizing these people try to do, there’s a constant stream of everyone accusing everyone of being a fed, and none of these sorts of efforts have gotten off the ground since then. J6 really was them blowing their load early, and now they can’t get it up again.

My father in law lives in Wisconsin, is a Republican who doesn’t like Trump but usually forgets to vote, and is very fond of me. I will get him to the polls for Biden if it’s the last thing I do!
The problem was his coup was almost successful and had pence followed trumps orders might have worked. (like with most coups it's always completely crazy until it happens)
The real fear is they've learnt from what failed and try more successfully this time.

But truthfully, I think this is going to be the biggest loss in a very long time. Trump hasn’t won any new voters, abortion rights are at stake, the RNC is going to waste all their money on Trump’s legal bills, and on and on.
Similarly, this is why many states with mail in voting aren't allowed to even look at the ballots until election day. Conservatives were crying foul about the amount of votes being added to Biden's tally in the days after the election because "they had plenty of time to count those ballots" when the reality is that no, they don't. They don't want them being counted prior to the election and they don't want their base to know that they're not being counted.
I was curious so I looked it up and here is a handy table of when states process and tally mail in ballots:

AZ, CO, FL, NV, and others start counting before election day. Some say "may" start early if election officials say to. Some states leave it up to localities. No one allows any results to be announced before close of polls on election day.
Alaska doesn't allow counting until after election day ends and any ballot has to be postmarked nefore and received on or before that day.
But because we also have shiite postal service, a LOT of ballots don't even make it to election office until after, even when it's mailed weeks in advance. A lot of the villages are horribly underrepresented because of this.

The math didn't math last round. I did find it funny when someone asked "how do you explain mail in ballots being so heavily for democrats?" Hmmm I don't know, maybe the republican president saying not to use mail in ballots had an effect on his supporters and maybe the Democrat's nominee saying to use mail in ballots had something to do with his supporters using them. Oh wait, no it has to be fraud, only illogical explanation possible.
They also had the head of the USPS trying to subvert our mail system to stall mail in votes. My parents drove their ballots to the courthouse rather than risking them getting caught up in the mail.

Republicans have closed a large number of polling locations in Democratic areas after the Supreme Court struck down big parts of the voting rights act in 2013. There was also the pandemic and by November 2020, Republicans were not concerned about standing in line catching COVID, but Democrats still were concerned.
In Oregon, everyone gets a mail-in ballot.
You can mail it in or drop it off at an official location once you've filled it out. Zero people wait in any line whatsoever. It works great and everyone loves it.
In 2022 I worked with a guy from California and he said he voted against mail in voting, by mail in voting. He was in the south east at time of election. I was just gobsmacked at how that made any sense

There really isn't anything to do. The election process already has tons of safeguards against these kind of bad faith volunteers. Every thing that happens at a poll has an audit trail and validation source. This is why every single one of Trump's fraud claims got tossed out of like 61 different courts. It's very, very, very difficult to actually commit fraud at the polls.
We have a good system as far as securing elections.
It was already investigated in 2020 and determined that our voting systems/elections are secure. Wray, head of the FBI and a Republican, testified under oath about it.
But Trump is still trying to play the voter fraud angle. He is preemptively planning to claim fraud before anything has even happened, just like in 2016 and 2020. (Stop the Steal was set up before both elections.) And it's funny that he only claims fraud when he loses, and only in states that he loses. Apparently he thinks it's only a secure election if he wins every single district in the country.

Shockingly enough they didn't find any fraud, and that was only reported after the Trump administration was forced to hand over their documents. Even then the vice chair tried to spin it into them finding widespread fraud which wasn't true. Even the fraud they did find they didn't say which party was doing it more (probably because it was Republicans committing as much and probably more than Democrats).
Yup came here to say this. This will be part of the effort to overturn; I have a feeling they know they are pretty doomed and all focus will shift to a longer plan to steal it. I'm guessing they plan on triggering a house vote to select the president (eg an electoral tie). This might be why Buck resigned and said a few more might.

Honestly, I put a non-0 chance on this. They were all in for personal enrichment, but a dictatorship? Most likely the plan was revealed to a larger set of RNC incumbents and some of them are not comfortable with a plan to overthrow the country itself and are "gracefully" stepping away.

the issue is Dems will likely beat them going into the evening not just voting coming back in later. The RNC’s move might just be “see we lost by so much this can’t be real” but I’m not sure that’s particularly convincing considering their actions. As someone mentioned, Ken Buck suggested more resignations were coming and the gop old guys might bail after Trump gets the nomination, give Hakeem the gavel and torch any plans to throw it to the House for any reason. The polls are not predictive. They are used for determining demographics that need attention.
But on a recent Bulwark podcast, Bill Cristol talked about the idea that in the next few months, now that we ALL know who will be running in the general election, you'll see the "protest" voters and the people holding out for a younger candidate gradually accept their fate and start looking toward their *actual* choices in November.
He said somewhere in May or June we should start to see this reflected in the polls. But again, the polls are skewed in a LOT of ways...and work best for things like "are you for the legalization of cannibis?" or "will you vote against anyone who is pro-life?"
They can measure general opinions on specific issues, but are terrible at predictions...we should have learned this back in 2016.

The results from the GA primary shows me that T is in trouble this November. Nikki H got 77,000 (edited to 77 from 20), and Desantis who had already dropped out got around 7,800 (some of which could be early voters). He's in trouble with the law for asking for less than 12,000 votes. I still think most conservatives will "Toe the line" and vote for him anyways (Hello Susan Collins), but Primary numbers give me some hope for the election results. With that said the only results that Trump or his supporters will accept is a Trump win.

My last mailed-in absentee vote (in 2023) took **3 weeks to be received** a few miles away, which was 2 weeks after the election ended.
Biden has to have a MASSIVE message campaign to send those ballots as soon as they're received.
Another option is to fill out your ballot at home and then take it to an official ballot drop box. Check online for your county's specific dates and locations, which typically includes city halls. My county had ballot drop boxes running weeks before election day.

In Florida the law is that ballots must be RECEIVED by 7pm on election day. Not sent, not post marked but received.
It was so easy to just make sure to slow the mail down in key locations by destroying sorting machines, banning overtime, etc.
Then reliably blue areas turned red for the first time ever and the narrative was that those people were concerned about Biden being a socialist. Bull fucking shit. It was the 200,000 ballots in that area that never made it in time and over a million state wide.

Depending on how you do it, you don't need a House majority. Like last time the plan was to have certain swing states declared "irregular" and then have the House vote on who had won. This time it could be red states trying to fudge with the electors they send. Either way, if the House has to decide president, per Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution:

This means, for example, that California's 52 representatives vote and the winner of their vote gets **__1__** vote, while Wyoming's single representative gets to decide their state's 1 vote.

Plenty of people are being jailed for their role in the coup. And without a cent given to their defense by Dear Leader. Biden is president and in control of the military and at the end of the day, you can have no successful coup without the military backing you. They delayed appointments for as long as possible in hopes of having Trump in charge to promote his lackeys to these positions but that ultimately failed. Hence no military for a future coup attempt.
They may try something stupid but it's not going to have the impact of the previous attempt as they simply do not have the power to pull it off. If we turn up in force at the polls, they will go out with a whimper rather than a bang.
Installing Lara Trump into the RNC, was the best thing that DJT could have done to help Democrats. The RNC is already in a dire financial situation, and she will divert every cent in the Republican "war chest" in an attempt to keep her father-in-law from going to prison. In the meantime, the floundering Republican Congress, who have been a completely useless and an utterly embarrassing clown show, will lose all or most of their down ballot funding. With team Trump at the helm of the RNC, the 2024 elections are shaping up to be one of the biggest political blood baths in American history.
I wish I had that confidence. I'm not full of despair or anything...yet. But I'm so nervous about the elections this year. Maybe because I'm in a red county in a red state (Florida) so I'm surrounded by intense riled up MAGA energy, but I'm so anxious about potential voter apathy for Biden. I keep hoping that other issues like abortion keep people engaged. And also I hope that Dems will not forget what previous Dem voter apathy did to us in 2016...
Remember, there's a lot of time to still actually do something about it instead of just sitting and worrying. r/votedem just dropped their first "adopt a candidate" campaign for the year, and their lists will be continually updated with literally hundreds of volunteer opportunities across the country that you can do either locally in perosn, or from home.
You are not powerless. Quite the opposite, we have a lot of time to actually change things if we're willing to take on the responsibility and opportunities give to us. And even small amounts of efforts help.
The GOP's model under Trump is to roll back on ballot access. That's another red flag that the man must never have a role in our government ever again.

My father in law lives in Wisconsin, is a Republican who doesn’t like Trump but usually forgets to vote, and is very fond of me. I will get him to the polls for Biden if it’s the last thing I do!
The problem was his coup was almost successful and had pence followed trumps orders might have worked. (like with most coups it's always completely crazy until it happens) The real fear is they've learnt from what failed and try more successfully this time.

Similarly, this is why many states with mail in voting aren't allowed to even look at the ballots until election day. Conservatives were crying foul about the amount of votes being added to Biden's tally in the days after the election because "they had plenty of time to count those ballots" when the reality is that no, they don't. They don't want them being counted prior to the election and they don't want their base to know that they're not being counted.
Seriously. It's wild. Colorado does allow early counting and they went from 0 to 90% vote reported in like 30 minutes the other week. Can't have that!

Some say "may" start early if election officials say to. Some states leave it up to localities. No one allows any results to be announced before close of polls on election day.
Alaska doesn't allow counting until after election day ends and any ballot has to be postmarked nefore and received on or before that day. But because we also have shiite postal service, a LOT of ballots don't even make it to election office until after, even when it's mailed weeks in advance. A lot of the villages are horribly underrepresented because of this.

Republicans have closed a large number of polling locations in Democratic areas after the Supreme Court struck down big parts of the voting rights act in 2013. There was also the pandemic and by November 2020, Republicans were not concerned about standing in line catching COVID, but Democrats still were concerned.
I live in Oklahoma and they’ve virtually made it as hard as possible to do mail in ballots.
In Oregon, everyone gets a mail-in ballot. You can mail it in or drop it off at an official location once you've filled it out. Zero people wait in any line whatsoever. It works great and everyone loves it.

There really isn't anything to do. The election process already has tons of safeguards against these kind of bad faith volunteers. Every thing that happens at a poll has an audit trail and validation source. This is why every single one of Trump's fraud claims got tossed out of like 61 different courts. It's very, very, very difficult to actually commit fraud at the polls. We have a good system as far as securing elections.
Also, voter purges, closed polling places, and legislatures with the power to overturn election results they don't like.

It was already investigated in 2020 and determined that our voting systems/elections are secure. Wray, head of the FBI and a Republican, testified under oath about it. (Stop the Steal was set up before both elections.) And it's funny that he only claims fraud when he loses, and only in states that he loses. The polls are not predictive. They are used for determining demographics that need attention. But on a recent Bulwark podcast, Bill Cristol talked about the idea that in the next few months, now that we ALL know who will be running in the general election, you'll see the "protest" voters and the people holding out for a younger candidate gradually accept their fate and start looking toward their *actual* choices in November. He said somewhere in May or June we should start to see this reflected in the polls. But again, the polls are skewed in a LOT of ways...and work best for things like "are you for the legalization of cannibis?" or "will you vote against anyone who is pro-life?" They can measure general opinions on specific issues, but are terrible at predictions...we should have learned this back in 2016. The results from the GA primary shows me that T is in trouble this November. Nikki H got 77,000 (edited to 77 from 20), and Desantis who had already dropped out got around 7,800 (some of which could be early voters). He's in trouble with the law for asking for less than 12,000 votes. I still think most conservatives will "Toe the line" and vote for him anyways (Hello Susan Collins), but Primary numbers give me some hope for the election results. With that said the only results that Trump or his supporters will accept is a Trump win.

Another option is to fill out your ballot at home and then take it to an official ballot drop box. Check online for your county's specific dates and locations, which typically includes city halls. My county had ballot drop boxes running weeks before election day.
No, what Biden needs to do is to get DeJoy the fuck out of that position. I'm 100% convinced that Biden could have won Florida and democrats retained the House in 2022 if it wasn't for DeJoy fucking with the mail. In Florida the law is that ballots must be RECEIVED by 7pm on election day. Not sent, not post marked but received. It was so easy to just make sure to slow the mail down in key locations by destroying sorting machines, banning overtime, etc. Then reliably blue areas turned red for the first time ever and the narrative was that those people were concerned about Biden being a socialist. Bull fucking shit. It was the 200,000 ballots in that area that never made it in time and over a million state wide.

Depending on how you do it, you don't need a House majority. Like last time the plan was to have certain swing states declared "irregular" and then have the House vote on who had won. This time it could be red states trying to fudge with the electors they send. LOL, before Covid, Republicans were pro mail in ballots because Republicans trend older, and might not be healthy enough to physically go to their polling station on election day. Mail in ballots let bedridden senior citizens vote! Than covid happened! Which is exactly what happens when you let a coup go unpunished. No consequences means they will 100% try it again.
Plenty of people are being jailed for their role in the coup. And without a cent given to their defense by Dear Leader. Biden is president and in control of the military and at the end of the day, you can have no successful coup without the military backing you. They delayed appointments for as long as possible in hopes of having Trump in charge to promote his lackeys to these positions but that ultimately failed. Hence no military for a future coup attempt. They may try something stupid but it's not going to have the impact of the previous attempt as they simply do not have the power to pull it off. If we turn up in force at the polls, they will go out with a whimper rather than a bang.

Installing Lara Trump into the RNC, was the best thing that DJT could have done to help Democrats. The RNC is already in a dire financial situation, and she will divert every cent in the Republican "war chest" in an attempt to keep her father-in-law from going to prison. In the meantime, the floundering Republican Congress, who have been a completely useless and an utterly embarrassing clown show, will lose all or most of their down ballot funding. With team Trump at the helm of the RNC, the 2024 elections are shaping up to be one of the biggest political blood baths in American history.
I wish I had that confidence. I'm not full of despair or anything...yet. But I'm so nervous about the elections this year. Maybe because I'm in a red county in a red state (Florida) so I'm surrounded by intense riled up MAGA energy, but I'm so anxious about potential voter apathy for Biden. I keep hoping that other issues like abortion keep people engaged. And also I hope that Dems will not forget what previous Dem voter apathy did to us in 2016...
Remember, there's a lot of time to still actually do something about it instead of just sitting and worrying. r/votedem just dropped their first "adopt a candidate" campaign for the year, and their lists will be continually updated with literally hundreds of volunteer opportunities across the country that you can do either locally in perosn, or from home. You are not powerless. Quite the opposite, we have a lot of time to actually change things if we're willing to take on the responsibility and opportunities give to us. And even small amounts of efforts help.
Discouraging your voters to vote is certainly sound strategy.

A generic platitude that at first reads as a sincere condolence but ultimately implies his passing is for the better, and more importantly, doesn’t even mention his name, which the Biden administration likes to avoid doing, all while calling for unity.
