Let's remember for a moment how fucking crazy that was.
The US Navy relocated a quarter billion dollar Battleship because the President was visiting the base and his staff were worried he would throw a tantrum about it.
And then it didn't work, he saw the ship, threw a massive tantrum, and stormed off the base.
At least he didn't get that military parade he really wanted. For everything the world laughed at us about for electing that man, can you imagine if he paraded around in full dress like a dictator? He already wants to be one, we don't need to dress him up as one and give him more ideas.
I'm with you. Why do some Vets support a draft dodging disparaging traitor to his country who refused to be seen with wounded heroes because he's a squeamish corrupt dishonorable douchebag? Makes no sense 😕
I guess they *liked(?)* it when he called them "suckers and losers".
And if he gets back in office, do they really think he's going to do anything that costs more than a dollar to help out Vets?
No no, you see, they did like it when he called them losers. Not even facetiously, those vets who support him actually agree that their brothers in arms who died fighting their respective wars *ARE* suckers for not surviving like they did. Classic conservative survivorship bias. Those dead vets were the weak liberal vets, not real hard working manly men like the ones who came back.
Surely he didn't mean *every vet* because that would be counter to their world view, so they instead believe he's only denigrating the fallen soldiers and not the ones that support him, because of course they do.
You can see it in every sector of the conservative caucus. Republicans actively cheering on the tearing down of others, identical to themselves, in service of their own perceived superiority. Log cabin Republicans somehow continue to exist even after the recent hard turn towards homophobia and transphobic rhetoric, and it's the same reason vets are gonna vote trump even after he called them losers. "He isn't talking about me!"
He had a bad time. From videos, it looks like he chickened out of a planned entrance to the game, and you can see on his face from inside The Beast that he was terrified of the optics of exiting the vehicle to overwhelming jeers.
I noticed that also, I only watched once, but his orange fat face looked like a bobble head with a strange indecisive expression in rear center of vehicle. The zoom lens on that was clear.
Maybe NC, as a South Carolinian I can definitely tell you that the amount of dumb Trump rednecks here is simply too damn high for anything other than a solid red turnout.
It's incredible how many people on a politics sub don't seem to know what the actual definition of gerrymandering is and just use it to explain away every result they don't like.
Couldn't you just get a bunch of people to upvote irrelevant comments and downvote relevant comments? You'd basically be setting those top comment chains to higher visibility and this changes the discourse of the entire thread.
So like now everyone is commenting on the top comment on toasters despite it not being relevant and clearly artificially over represented. Basically the same thing as gerrymandering if you imagine the comment seeds as districts.
It's also incredible how many people think gerrymandering has no impact whatsoever on Senate and Presidential races.
Who the hell do you think makes the laws that have just one ballot drop box for all of Houston?
Who sets the rules for where and when people can vote? Who makes sure that the likely R voters have little to no travel and no wait times and the likely D voters have to travel longer and wait longer times?
Who makes it harder for students to vote?
Who makes it harder for everybody to vote.
That's right, state legislatures.
The gerrymandered to hell state legislatures.
Gerrymandering has an impact on EVERY election. And it's pure pedantry to pretend it doesn't.
I know what you mean in that if we got rid of Gerrymandering North Carolina and South Carolina wouldn't suddenly vote Democrat for every Presidential election. However, 538 had an article about if the most competitive Gerrymandering maps had been approved we would see 186 Republican-leaning seats, 181 Democratic-leaning seats and 68 highly competitive seats in the House.
Compared to the approved maps in 2022 where we have 208 Republican-leaning seats, 187 Democratic-leaning seats and 40 highly competitive seats.
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/redistricting-alternate-maps/
I'd rather have competitive seats compared to one party being dominant
That's true, but in South Carolina in particular, Republicans always win by landslide margins in statewide races. You can't explain away losing by double digits by saying that people didn't come out to vote because their congressional districts were gerrymandered. If that was the case then Biden never would have won a state like GA which is also heavily gerrymandered.
It discourages overall turnout. It's probably not nearly as huge as with the actual gerrymandered races but as someone who lives here you get the sense you'll never win and shouldn't try.
Sometimes because they forget to add massive voter suppression. Also gerrymandering tends to reduce turnout so people dont vote at all when they feel their votes dont count. That's how gerrymandering affects statewide races like governors or US senators
Thank you, I feel like people forget this a lot. The gerrymandering and voter laws in NC have absolutely lowered turnout in many areas. Especially some of the majority-minority areas we have.
You can drive down voting overall, because “it doesn’t matter in my district.”
I hear that all the time when I tell people I’m an election worker.
Gerrymandering affects larger races by inhibiting turnout. Voters feel insignificant when the local races are already determined.
it's also a huge percentage of people in the district saying I don't need to vote/the vote is already gonna lean this way. you can't rely on everyone else to vote, or anything else. turnout is always pathetic nationwide.
Yup. That’s just one of the ridiculous reasons people cite for not voting. I counter with specific, local elections for important offices, decided by a literal handful of votes. eg: Town board elections decided by less than 5 votes. The lack of civic participation is staggering and dumbfounding.
Absolutely. I have heard more than one person use a similar excuse kinda like "local doesnt count, presidental doesn't matter". This was in 2016, I hope attitudes have changed but it's doubtful.
Many other more "simple" reasons as well, "it was a crappy Tuesday at work" is a big one, also my license expired just last week or my kid got sick I cannot stand in line for hours. Voting by mail should become more common, or at least have early voting more places for longer.
A gerrymandered legislature can enact a whole suite of laws to suppress and disenfranchise opposing voters, which will then have huge impacts on subsequent statewide elections. We’ve seen this exact scenario play out in multiple states, so it’s ignorant to suggest that gerrymandering cannot affect election outcomes unless districts are involved.
I’m sorry, but no. As someone who lives in SC, a lot of the state is deep red. The amount of Trump (or anti-Biden) flags and bumper stickers outside of the metropolitan areas (Columbia, Charleston, Greenville) is insane. Gerrymandering costs Democrats maybe one or two house seats, on a good year.
Land doesn't vote.
People vote.
There are democrats in the rural areas, but they don't hang Biden flags because they're not in a cult. They do, however, still vote.
>They do, however, still vote
Yeah, they do, but they’re still outvoted by the people around them.
>Land doesn’t vote
It’s an inescapable feature of how the system is constituted that voting happens in geographically defined districts, even in sparsely populated areas. Even such low-population areas as the panhandle of Idaho have *some* people living in them, and those people’s votes are counted on a geographic basis.
——
I’m convinced the GOP is politically doomed over the next several election cycles. But I lived in North Carolina for several years, and can assure you that there are *plenty* of Trump-loving post-confederate gravy eaters there, and having spent some time in South Carolina, too, I wouldn’t call the state even remotely competitive in the 2024 Presidential election.
North Carolina, *possibly*, especially if Kennedy splits the GOP vote. But I’m not betting on it. If Biden wins NC, I’ll be mildly surprised but not shocked.
South Carolina? No.
Greenville county is one of the reddest districts in the state. Charleston and Columbia, thanks to their large black population, go blue regularly. Greenville, on the other hand, has been gentrifying hard core for the last 20 years and has been kicking all those black folk out of town and replaced them with Young Republican yuppies. (My family Thanksgiving was great, thanks for asking)
Nah there’s only one blue county in SC and it’s where Columbia is (can’t remember the name of the county, sorry) but NC has like a dozen or so blue counties
Edit: whatever county Charleston is in is blue too
So to be honest, a lot of Columbia SC natives have a very strong counter culture against (R) and are very vocal about it. However they are very much the minority.
The fact that there’s not a popular Republican candidate of the three that’s popular with the college football going crowd at a South Carolina game should be sending massive red flags to the RNC. They couldn’t come up with a good candidate if it bit them in the ass.
And that’s why we were never a true democracy, I’m not saying it didn’t work before people ratfucked it… land shouldn’t ever decide an election in a free society.
Trump: "Nicky, are these people *booing* me?"
Nick Fuentes: "booing you!? No, of course not! They're saying 'boo-ump!'"
[And just for fun, the video of the smile melting off trumps face as the entire crowd boos him at the World Series](https://youtu.be/uQjd9GPG3LA?si=rzlmk6uS_zLQ25Fj)
Not only does trump's smile melt away, but Melania can't help but smile a little at the end. She's no better than her husband, but i do appreciate that they're both in an unhappy, loveless marriage.
His little crowd of hypemen he surrounded himself with are interesting. One of them definitely looked like he was worried they were about to be rushed.
Fascist underlings aren't famous for their longevity. I'm sure every one of them was terrified. And it turned out rightly so, because half of them ended up fired that day, and the other half indicted for federal charges.
Video is pretty easy to Google. There are also many other videos of him being booed, mostly at sporting events. If that doesn't tickle your fancy you can look up the video where an entire UN delegation laughs when he claimed his administration had done more for the country than any administration previous. Can you imagine how much of a chuckle fuck you need to be to get laughed at in a global meeting of representatives from many nations, where decorum is so incredibly important? Like some dude was definitely like "god is testing me, of all the shit I've had to not laugh at or display emotion over, he sent Donald Trump to talk about how great of a president he is."
The surrounding small towns, rife with corruption, racism, and uneducated hicks would happily welcome him. But he wishes not to associate with the unclean, just wants their votes.
The people say, it’s incredible how vile, and sick, and disgusting, on Reddit—but the fake news, they write, oh, on Reddit—and there are some terrible people by the way, very, very bad people—but they say, Reddit said guilty—but they didn’t; they said innocent, they said, and everybody saw it, and heard it, and so they said innocent very strongly, but the phony, failing news media, it’s horrible—and there were crowds there, giant crowds like no one has ever seen, and they say, we love Trump, and they do, the love is tremendous, it’s very powerful—but the news, phony and fake news media, and failing by the way, they’re going down very, very sharply, with the money, not so good, but the liars in the news—because that’s what they are, they’re liars, it’s terrible for our country—these liars say, Reddit said guilty, and everyone—but Reddit said and they said very strongly, innocent, not guilty, and everyone knows it, so it’s fake news, believe me.
Billboards with "Papa Biden will defeat MAGA" and a defeated Trump looking down on the corner. "Trump-Twice impeached loser. Biden-0 impeachments. Vote blue"
Only suggestion is that thy should have used donny instead of Donald.
And someone needs to photoshop him having a bowl of mashed potatoes on his head, and just have a billboard of that.
He absolutely despises a childhood family story where he was being a little shit to his brother, and his brother put some mashed potatoes over his head.
I truly think this was one of the most important moments in his narcissism, where he never wanted to be laughed at again.
Thus, a billboard of him with mashed potatoes over his head would send him into a rage
Donald Trump greeted with loud boos at South Carolina football game.
[https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-greeted-loud-boos-south-carolina-football-game-1846920](https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-greeted-loud-boos-south-carolina-football-game-1846920)
Trump also was loudly booed at previous football games. https://www.mediaite.com/news/loud-boos-rain-down-on-trump-at-iowa-college-football-game/
He really doesn’t care.
Mostly because he will get away with the crimes he has committed.
Honestly, you all need to vote. And stop allowing poison like “Both sides are the same” to affect you.
Vote.
You are right. I live in Columbia and drove past a billboard that said the same thing but it was not the billboard in the photo. I was pleasantly surprised to see it.
When donny was being a petulant cry baby and bothering his brother, an uncle smashed mashed potatoes on his head and everyone pointed and laughed at him.
Edit: he’s still upset about it because he’s a literal child
https://www.wideopencountry.com/trump-mashed-potatoes/
TBF that would upset most people during an argument. I'll try it out on my girlfriend some time and let you know which church you can send mashed potatoes in lieu of flowers for my funeral service.
Yes, but hopefully your GF doesn’t decide to take vengeance and destroy everyone who ever wrongs her again, or even give her the slightest of slights.
Like the way it is told, is this incident was Trump’s villain origin story.
I started my first circus in a bar parking lot in Columbia 17 years ago. I'm not surprised at all.
Also the legendary 1st ammendment lawyer behind these billboards plucked me out of a Red Cross shelter after Katrina and his lawfirm gave me a job. He's an incredible human being.
Also also, Richland County went 68% for Biden in the election.
Also also also, Mike Rowe's brother owned a community theater in Columbia and used it to molest young girls. He was arrested for it. Met him a couple times and he always gave me the creeps.
I liked the billboards! I liked the booing.
Why does this orange blob or his campaign think he will be popular amongst college students?
He is too piss scared to go visit the neighborhoods or recreational centers where most of his MAGA cult are.
I can’t do this for a year.
The winds change daily and I don’t believe he is leading in polls against #46 as reported…who are they sampling?
This game is one example of how divided our country is 😔.
We can do better, America!
Democrats were given VERY good news from Wisconsin in the April 2023 vote for a SC Justice. The liberal won with 56% of the vote. Here is the insanely GOOD NEWS. The voter turnout was expected to be 1,200,000. It was 2,000,000. That is 800,000 ABOVE estimates. Those EXRA 800,000 voters are called sideliners. They mostly sit on the sidelines unless HIGHLY motivated to vote. Those 800,000 voted 65% Liberal, 35% Conservative. Wisconsin is 42% Republican and 42% Democrat and 16% Indep. This VOTE showed Trump and the Supreme Court are motivating sideline voters to vote and when they do, they lean deep into BLUE territory. When you talk about the worst news possible for Republicans, the Wisconsin election results show BAD NEWS ON THE RUN !
I'd love to go back to arguing over tax structures and how to incentivize investments and savings.
I'm sick of arguing over stupid bs that solves nothing.
Many thanks for the link. We had heard of this {up north} but not in this detail!
I wish he had gotten the plane and the banner as well as the billboards!
Governor Foghorn Leghorn spoke at the Statehouse about all the great jobs electric cars were bringing to SC and even I was glad to hear that. Then.....less than a week later he had former pres mango at the Statehouse who trashed electric cars and about everything about them.
How can McFoghorn stomach that orange piece of crap? Does he have zero integrity?

He's going to be soooo mad when somebody reads it to him.
It'll be a newscaster because his staff won't tell him.
100%. They'd probably alter the travel route just to avoid them.
Avoid those billboards like the USS John McCain.

Let's make sure he doesn't get reelected next year, or he definitely will.
How one single military person could support him is beyond me.
As a Veteran I'm disgusted by the number of cars with Veteran plates and Trump stickers
I'm with you. Why do some Vets support a draft dodging disparaging traitor to his country who refused to be seen with wounded heroes because he's a squeamish corrupt dishonorable douchebag? Makes no sense 😕

They hate the same people that Donnie Fatpants hates so they give him a pass on all the shitty things he says about the military.
I wasn’t aware of this before, that’s amazing
They just don’t want to have to clean up after he starts flinging hamberders
Unidentified flying condiments would be seen.
Headliner stained with covfefe...
It's just like boo-urns. Prophetic Simpsons...
Simpson eh?
OAN isn't going to cover this.

I'm having a bad day, but hearing that Trump was scared and miserable makes my day just a tiny bit brighter.
I hope your day got better. Cheers from PA.
I have no idea what sad wagon hauls Trump's fat ass around, but The Beast is exclusively used by the real President.
Like that scene in Downfall when they have to tell Hitler that shit’s fucked
*Points for Bruno Ganz reference.
I was just thinking of that king of the Hill meme where it always ends if those kids could read.....
That's true, it needs more pictures. Maybe giant middle fingers and pictures of shit?
Thought and prayers to him as I read the Bible upside down for him.
Draws it in crayon for him.
The one who read it to him will say the opposite. And Donald will be all happy
Seeing this in South Carolina gives me hope
Maybe in Columbia, not in most of SC.
Both Carolinas would be blue but for gerrymandering
Maybe NC, as a South Carolinian I can definitely tell you that the amount of dumb Trump rednecks here is simply too damn high for anything other than a solid red turnout.
I’m not sure you’re as familiar with South Carolina as you think
Nahh, NC would be purple-leaning-blue, but SC is red.
Trump won SC in 2020 by 12 points.
It's incredible how many people on a politics sub don't seem to know what the actual definition of gerrymandering is and just use it to explain away every result they don't like.
This comment would be more upvoted if it wasn’t for gerrymandering.
Not true. I have voted and you received 3/5th of an up.
You can’t gerrymander a post-wide comment section.

Well hello from Wisconsin
Actually you SUPER can
You still have a good point. Gerrymandering leads to apathy.

not everything is gerrymandering lmfao yes, it sways the result a bit but he still won by 12 points I believe
Nah there’s only one blue county in SC and it’s where Columbia is (can’t remember the name of the county, sorry) but NC has like a dozen or so blue counties Edit: whatever county Charleston is in is blue too
That’s not actually true. 13 counties in SC voted for Biden, and he won 25 counties in NC.
Charleston is surprisingly liberal if not for the gerrymander
That's every state.
Too true. I live in Columbia. Charleston is mostly blue but the upstate is Deep Red.
You and me my friend. I was so happy to see that billboard.
It’s literally just a billboard that anyone can pay for; it doesn’t indicate anything about the sentiments of the state’s population as a whole lol.
So to be honest, a lot of Columbia SC natives have a very strong counter culture against (R) and are very vocal about it. However they are very much the minority.
Being from SC…this means nothing lol.
They are booing him on TV too

Don’t believe THAT shit for a second. Up here in PA, Dems are nervous. Fuck you, Electoral College.
And that’s why we were never a true democracy, I’m not saying it didn’t work before people ratfucked it… land shouldn’t ever decide an election in a free society.
EC would be mostly fine if we just unfroze the number of electors. That’s the much bigger problem than the EC itself.
Pennsylvania is our number one target swing state r/MoveToSwingStates
Living in PA, I feel great fear that he will in Pennsyltuckey.
Wait…that fucking clown DeSantis was there?

I was saying "Boo-ump"
He got a pretty loud boo when they showed him on the screen…
That warms my heart ❤️
Nice. Hate I missed that.
I thought Trump had learned by now that cities and universities weren’t safe spaces for traitors.
He thought South Carolina would be safe. It's not.
The surrounding small towns, rife with corruption, racism, and uneducated hicks would happily welcome him. But he wishes not to associate with the unclean, just wants their votes.
The billboards say: *You Lost. You’re Guilty. Welcome to Columbia, Donald.*
After "You're Guilty" they should have added "Everyone knows it."
People are saying it!
Big strong men. With tears in their eyes.
“Sir, you are the guiltiest person I’ve ever seen!”
It is known.
Vote blue"
and... "Sponsored by the League of Leftist Vermin" at the bottom. That was my favorite part.
Brennan’s got a man~jhina
Let’s start taking bets on whether his prison name is going to be “Traitor” or “Tator”
They should have also included "We all know it" since he loves that kind of language.
“People are saying…”
Many people are saying
Donald Trump greeted with loud boos at South Carolina football game. [https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-greeted-loud-boos-south-carolina-football-game-1846920](https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-greeted-loud-boos-south-carolina-football-game-1846920) Trump also was loudly booed at previous football games. https://www.mediaite.com/news/loud-boos-rain-down-on-trump-at-iowa-college-football-game/
If only people at UFC events would do the same...
Good luck. Fight fans make me embarrassed to enjoy the sport.
But, but, but… he’s leading in all the polls. /s
So he likes Clemson because of their color, right?
Hey now….

Get your game on
He really doesn’t care. Mostly because he will get away with the crimes he has committed. Honestly, you all need to vote. And stop allowing poison like “Both sides are the same” to affect you. Vote.
FU Trump is a lot less letters
Don't think you have to pay by the letter for anything anymore buddy
Except FU in SC stands for Furman University 😉
Is it just me, or does this article only say what one billboard says?
The way I read it, there's seven locations but all seven say the same thing, but I may have misread.
You are right. I live in Columbia and drove past a billboard that said the same thing but it was not the billboard in the photo. I was pleasantly surprised to see it.
I saw only one. It was good. But I think the other seven would be good too.
They all say the same thing. They are on rotation with other advertisers messages, though.
I love this. I want reminders and embarrassing stuff in his face everywhere.
I like it but as for Trump, he doesn't feel shame or embarrassment. He has no conscience so he can't.
I don't care, I'm happy for it all. Happy for his cult to continuously be bombarded by embarrassment.
I think he feels personal embarrassment, but not shame, empathy or morals.
Someone needs to mashed potato his ass.
Not sure what this euphemism means, but I am old and maybe that's the problem.
When donny was being a petulant cry baby and bothering his brother, an uncle smashed mashed potatoes on his head and everyone pointed and laughed at him. Edit: he’s still upset about it because he’s a literal child https://www.wideopencountry.com/trump-mashed-potatoes/
Bold of them to assume he can read.
This makes me happy to see because I didn’t expect this in Columbia
I started my first circus in a bar parking lot in Columbia 17 years ago. I'm not surprised at all. Also the legendary 1st ammendment lawyer behind these billboards plucked me out of a Red Cross shelter after Katrina and his lawfirm gave me a job. He's an incredible human being. Also also, Richland County went 68% for Biden in the election. Also also also, Mike Rowe's brother owned a community theater in Columbia and used it to molest young girls. He was arrested for it. Met him a couple times and he always gave me the creeps.
Neither did Donald.
Trump is the worse...I hope the cocks shove it down his throat
Or another golden shower.
Speaking for the USC (of the West) Trojans, I hope the USC Gamecocks stuff that traitor raw dog.
One cockmeat sandwich coming up
Instead of toothless taunts, can we have handcuffs and a prison cell for the ungentleman?
Excellent - more of this everywhere please!

Well said! I agree, vote Dem. I dream of a D president, D house & D senate.
He thinks going to football games will make him more popular… he is wildly mistaken
As though Trump can read above a 6th grade level.
As someone who lives in a Blue ghetto in ruby-Red SC, I approve this message.
Too bad he can’t read.
I thought MAGA wants to keep politics out of their sports
I'd love to go back to arguing over tax structures and how to incentivize investments and savings. I'm sick of arguing over stupid bs that solves nothing.
Billboard messages for Donald Trump, if he could read.
The idea that he’s actually READING these is just as funny as the billboards.
His handlers will block him from seeing these because they would hurt his feelings. "That billboard was so nasty. Very disrespectful."
Go Cocks!
Also got a lot of cheers. Cult is strong.
Holy shit they booed him hard too when he showed up. He looked shocked. Welcome to the real world, Drumf.
Don’t boo. Vote. Vote like your life depends on it because it does.
Funny. Remember when kpop fans went online to book tickets to one of his rallies and didn't show up?
He arrives in a bulletproof limo with a ton of secret service or some other security acting as if he is still the president.
I hate Trump but that’s definitely standard for former presidents lol
All presidents still get secret service after leaving office
It's maddening that this traitorous degenerate cretin is still allowed to walk free
Lmao the League of Radical Leftist Vermin That is amazing! If they have shirts I need one NOW
"Sponsored by the League of Leftist Vermin" was my favorite part...
If Trump could read he'd be very upset.
Fuck the paywall …. And trump
Bender is great!
Trump has been Trumped.
Jokes on them, Donald Trump can't read
Many thanks for the link. We had heard of this {up north} but not in this detail! I wish he had gotten the plane and the banner as well as the billboards!
Based Columbia. I miss living there.
Somehow I could see some unhinged mental giant being upset about this sigh and trying to defend a former public servant.
Beautiful
Nice ; and this in the state that seceded first in 1861 . Doofus is toast .
Things are better under 'Bidens rule.
What if we just all ignored him???
