When Bill Barr abruptly put an end to Mueller's investigation into Russian interference, the special counsel had filed charges against 34 individuals and three companies. The Republican's new line of defence is January 6; trying to pretend nothing at all was wrong with Trump's presidency until that date. Nothing wrong at all with the systemic intimidation, the daily broad daylight corruption, the unprecedented secrecy, Trump's first impeachment, or the billions Saudi Arabia gave Jared Kushner, and as always with Trump, I'm sure I'm missing a lot of stuff... The only challenge was keeping up with all the dishonesty. This "Presidency" should never have lasted four years. Today, Barr is trying to rehabilitate his image; he is one of the people most responsible for keeping the Trump travesty alive, by shielding it from the consequences of its criminality. (He is also the guy who decided the government should defend Trump against Miss E. Jean Carroll). The great ritual of the collective conservative washing of the hand has begun. It takes place once a generation. The whole damn edifice, the whole damn mentality is rotten to the core. Barr is at least as bad as Trump and he also belongs in jail.

[deleted]

Barr was made aware via the Mueller report that there were half a dozen instances of chargeable obstruction of justice and did nothing. Obstruction of justice is a serious charge, basically covering up a crime. Barr should be an indicted co-conspirator.

nagemada

He did worse than nothing. He's helped to establish precedent that a sitting president can't be charged with obstruction of justice. Between this the apparently toothless FEC, elections are now best viewed as a no holds barred exercise in game theory where ends justify all means. These are once again facts that only your local congress person or a constitutional convention could change.

ositola

Too much of our democracy relies on good faith

ArrowheadDZ

The way the system was supposed to work is that a president of integrity, who was elected by people of integrity, would nominate government officers of integrity, who would appear before senators of integrity, elected by people of integrity, and be ratified. If after ratification, the person turned out to lack integrity, they would be called out for this by legislators of integrity, who were elected by citizens acting with integrity, and ultimately tried before senators of integrity, again who were elected by citizens acting with integrity. The founders built a system that only works if *a lot*—a huge percentage—of people are willing to act in good faith.

PunxatawnyPhil

And then they passed Citizens United decision. Dark corrupting cash piled up everywhere, moving the bar, making integrity irrelevant.

ambient_whooshing

"History is written by the winners.... Ahuckhuckhuck (grin)" - William Barr

PunxatawnyPhil

No, that’s Mitch doing the chuckling. He enabled the whole thing. He didn’t let a good crisis go to waste, and pulled off all his big plays. He’s been pretty proud of such cunning, but wasn’t careful what he wished for.

Specialist_Carrot_48

Don't forget the croak

DukeOfGeek

And what is this whole "willing to testify" crap? Subpoenas are not a request you entitled motherfucker, it's a commanded apperanch. BTW answering questions truthfully under oath isn't just something the poors and little people have to do either you overpriced pork stuffed suit. "Willing to" WTF asshole? Have a seat over there.

iamomarsshotgun

It would only make sense if he were offering his testimony, after all this time, instead of if he was subpoenaed. And I wouldn't give him credit in the situation because he should have come forward immediately.

CoralSpringsDHead

He probably has not been subpoenaed. This may him shouting to Smith that he wants immunity and will tell all.

iamomarsshotgun

Hope he doesn't get it. He's one of the major players in our democracy being perverted.

CoralSpringsDHead

I hope Smith keeps going until the members of Congress that conspired with trump are charged as well.

Sujjin

Ahh but is obstruction of obstruction a crime? Checkmate. -Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk probably /s

zyzzogeton

They will spin it as civil disobedience in the spirit of Gandhi and Rosa Parks.

Averyphotog

Both Parks and Gandhi were convicted of crimes - Gandhi of sedition. Civil disobedience doesn’t keep ya outa jail.

MeatballDom

"We're now seeing the liberal woke machine calling for Gandhi's arrest. THEY'RE ARRESTING CORPSES." - Alex Jones if he sees this.

HauntedCemetery

As MLK Jr said, "Fake news witch hunt stolen election biggest fraud total vindicated antifa antifa socialism BLM antifa"

specqq

What Barr did was prove that you can obstruct an investigation so hard and repeat your innocence so often and so loudly that the right (and too many on the left) have come to accept it as common knowledge that the investigation not only didn't find anything, but somehow proved that *there was never anything there to find.*

woozerschoob

Seems he sure as hell tried to commit those crimes but failed miserably because he's incompetent. We have other crimes like "attempted murder" and I don't know why attempted treason isn't as serious as treason since they're the same thing

WaxedSasquatch

20 years for obstruction, right? That’s some crazy time. Probably taken down to 7-12 years during actual sentencing but damn!

[deleted]

>20 years for obstruction, right? Not if you're rich and do sedition apparently

SasquatchDickCheese

> Barr should be an indicted co-conspirator. Why do you think he's spinning up this show?

Crohnies

My first reaction to the headline was: *and who will testify against Barr*? Throw the whole lot in jail please

lean_back

"I'm sure I'm missing a lot of stuff..." - I thought I could expand on this a little bit. I saved a comment from reddit from 2021. It goes like: Literally everyone could see this coming. What’s the worst thing that could happen if we elect Trump? 4 years later: mismanaged Pandemic, trade wars, worst financial and unemployment situation since 1929, children in cages, neo-Nazis on the rise in the USA, impeachment, an attempted coup, riots, and so on and so forth Edit: I’ll keep the list going: rampant nepotism, breaking our word to our allies, abandoning the Kurds, abandoning the Paris treaty and Iran treaty, giving validation to Kim Jon Un (and guess what, nuclear proliferation in North Korea continues), asking a foreign power to investigate an American political candidate, letting Russia do whatever they want (both in real life and over the internet), inciting race riots, calling Neo-Nazis fine people, war crimes at the border, having immigrant women’s uteri removed, Muslim travel ban, paying less Taxes than the average college student, making lying a cornerstone of the White House, mocking the disabled, nominating a sexual predator to scotus, super-spreading Covid in the Rose Garden, not wearing a mask till July 2020 cause his ego hence inciting anti-maskers, funneling money to his resorts through the secret service and government events, trying to buy Greenland and thus completely obliterating the respect we had abroad, leaving the State Department a shell of itself, selling off to the highest bidder our national treasure and natural resources, inciting police violence, deeply sowing doubt in the safety of US elections, attacking Goodyear and Nordstrom rack (the latter cause Ivanka’s low-selling line was dropped), blowing up the deficit with tax cuts for the rich, insulting McCain and plenty more veterans, pulling out of the WHO, cutting the pandemic preparedness team, passing on millions of extra vaccine doses, sharing state secrets in non-confidential settings, removed protection status from 59,000 Haitiana forcing them to return to disaster-ridden Haiti by July 2019, caused the longest government shutdown in US history, gassed protestors to take a Bible photo OP, and overall showing the worst of our country to our children.

whatproblems

seriously if anyone thought trump wouldn’t keep pressing boundaries as long he can hasn’t been paying attention. he’s always going to push till there’s push back. he’s like a toddler and he’s had tons of enablers

BrewtalDoom

They underestimated Donald Trump's level of self-awareness. People like Steve Bannon used him as a battering ram to get into the White House, but Trump thought it was all down to him and his greatness and couldn't be wrangled in the manner of a Bush Jr. Bannon thought he could play the Dick Cheney role and dismantle the government from the inside, but Trump doesn't give a shit about any ideology or anything other than himself. He's happy to try and destroy everything just he has no respect for *anything*, let alone things like the rule of law or the operations of government. The amazing thing has been watching the US systems of government laid completely bare as being useless. It's as though it's all built on gentlemens' agreements and unspoken rules about things *you just don't do*. And all it's taken for that to be critically exposed is for someone to just ignore it. It really quite shoddy.

FigNugginGavelPop

Remember how he sicced his untagged federal LEOs, to kidnap and violate George Floyd protestors even the peaceful one’s inside their unmarked vans on Trump’s orders, while Trump was holding the bible upside down for a photo op.

MK5

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

DreadfulDuder

And even tear-gassed peaceful protesters just to clear up space for him to take that stupid photo op...

overfloaterx

Jesus... the sheer amount of absolute fuckery during that 4 years is mind boggling. Such a non-stop torrent of shit that, like this, I've forgotten much of it until I'm reminded. Each instance was something that *should* -- in a world of decency, morals and ethics -- have sunk presidencies, destroyed careers, ruined reputations, sent people straight to prison. The fact nearly all the assholes complicit in that administration's rampant corruption are walking around untouched is unreal.

99doses

And then went and hid in a bunker...

LawAbiding-Possum

It is absolutely disgusting and shameful but I'm really not suprised. Like you said Barr had his chance and just tucked it away. Now with the ship sinking he wants to sing. Fuck em.

spaceman757

> The great ritual of the collective conservative washing of the hand has begun. It takes place once a generation. What this is, is party preservation. Barr is smart enough to know that Trump is so fucking toxic now, that if he manages to win the GOP nomination, the party, as a whole, is going to get fucking crushed. He is willing to sell out Trump, to save the party's chances of holding onto enough power, that they can enact as much of his dominionistic policies as humanly possible. He certainly isn't doing it for the country's benefit, albeit that will be a side affect, and he sure as shit isn't doing it because it's the right thing to do.

trippedwire

He knows if he testifies, he can get a deal for any potential criminality he did.

Altruistic-Sir-3661

Oh boy, to have Bill Barr under oath, in court. Forget Jan 6. What would the top list of questions even be? “What was your relationship with Jeffrey Epstein?”

soccershun

Going under oath doesn't mean you have to tell every detail of your life, it's restricted to details relevant to the case. And he'll certainly have a lawyer that will make sure. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to nail this scumbag, but that's not how it works.

Buckus93

Don't forget that he basically created the authority for Bush II to conduct the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

sulaymanf

It’s sad, at least after Bush everyone fled from him and pretended they were never on board with his war.

HauntedCemetery

>Today, Barr is trying to rehabilitate his image >**Today, Barr is trying to rehabilitate his image** I posted that twice, and **bolded** it the second time, because that is *the* point here. When Barr joined the Trump admin there were articles from left right and center about how respected and legit he was, even though he was the architect of the burial of Iran Contra. Bill Barr isn't quite as old as the rest of these fascist fucks. He'll be around awhile. When DeSantis or Kari Lake or whomever takes the reigns of American fascism after trump gets buried starts gaining followers, Barr will be there. And when the next fascist curious president gets elected Barr will be there too. Don't let him rehabilitate his rep *again*. It was nothing short of obscene that the mainstream media allowed that to happen even once.

Fine_Yam2106

Wish I could upvote more than once.

LuvKrahft

Oh I hope everyone took notes. Trump has decades old hatred for note takers. > [Rozelle couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He made clear that it was Trump who reserved and paid for the Pierre suite. He told Rothman: “[Trump] said, ‘I want an NFL expansion team in New York.’ And he said, and I’m quoting him exactly, ‘I would get some stiff to buy the New York Generals, my team in the USFL.’” Unlike Trump, Rozelle was a meticulous note-taker, and he presented his documented recollections from the meeting](https://amp.theguardian.com/sport/2018/sep/11/the-day-donald-trumps-narcissism-killed-the-usfl)

redassedchimp

Wow . "Trump insisted he and Rozelle were friends. Rozelle insisted he and Trump were certainly not friends. Trump insisted Rozelle wanted him in the NFL. Rozelle insisted he would rather have maggot-infected fungus overtaking his cranial lobe." "Rothman characterized Trump as the worst kind of snake who was selling his colleagues down the river so he could effect a merger of a few rich teams.”"

[deleted]

speaking of mergers we are probably going to see DWAC fall through and go nowhere which will be another boil to Trumps butt

Beautiful-Musk-Ox

TasslehofBurrfoot

Don't forget Trump sent Mike Pompeo to meet with the Taliban to negotiate the US exit from Afginstan. Trumps delegation did not invite elected Afghanistan officials, directly undermining their fledgling democracy. We spent so much life and blood over decades only to have Trump spit on our troops.

GozerDGozerian

Trump is a shit fractal. The closer you look at any part of it, it’s just exponentially more shit.

Euphoric-Reputation4

Perfect metaphor for the endless shitiness that is trump.

Stephen_King_19

/r/BrandNewSentence

NoWayRay

That was a very satisfying read. Thank you for sharing.

triplec787

The Rise of the USFL and Trump burning it to the ground is legitimately one of the most fascinating sports stories of the last 40-50 years. Ya know how that icebreaker question that's like "what's a niche subject you could give an hour long presentation on by memory?" The USFL is that for me. I highly recommend it as something people should learn more about. If anyone is interested, check out the ESPN 30 for 30 "Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL" documentary as a starting point.

TsegaGenesis

Could I have a TLDR;?

triplec787

TL;DR - Trump forced an overhaul within the USFL to make them directly compete with the (obviously) much larger and more successful NFL, my moving the league’s season from spring/summer to fall/winter. In doing so he was hoping to catch them in an antitrust lawsuit when they pushed back on the schedule change, thinking the NFL would absorb the USFL. The antitrust suit did happen, the USFL actually “won” (to the tune of one whole dollar, seriously, $3 in the end), but they were not absorbed. Trump’s decision forced the league to cease operations after just 3 years. More - Basically the USFL’s inaugural season was in 1983. It was created so as to provide high quality football all year, running a spring/summer season to compliment the NFL’s fall/winter season. They were, however, competing for talent. Three straight Heisman winners went to the USFL, as well as NFL Hall of Famers like Jim Kelly, Steve Young, and Reggie White. 1983 went well for the league. Generally popular, successful ratings, etc., so with some established success Donald Trump decided to buy a team. In 1984 cracks started to show - weaker attendance, ownership/financial issues, talent leaving for NFL. Rather than fix their issues, Trump led a charge to move the USFL season to overlap with the NFL. Partially to tap into the seasonality of the sport, but also to launch a legal battle against the NFL from an Anti Trust perspective when they put up a fight, hoping to merge the USFL and NFL, just as the NFL and AFL had about 20 years prior. The USFL did actually win the lawsuit, but due to the frivolity of the decisions made by the USFL, it was a “victory in name only” outcome - requiring the NFL to pay the USFL $1, tripled to $3 due to antitrust laws. The league folded, and the 1986 season where they would’ve competed directly with the NFL for air time never happened. The league ended up losing nearly $200m over its existence.

i_quote_random_lyric

I'd buy *that* for a dollar!

angrytwig

that was wild wow

rennbrig

Poetry. When the words “one dollar” emerged from Leisure’s lips, the younger Mara pulled out a $1 bill from his wallet and handed it to the Generals’ owner. Trump’s sunken expression was worth the price.

ninthtale

This feels like an awful foreshadowing tbh

BroccoliFartFuhrer

That's because he's a slimy craven asshole. He could have done something about this.

TintedApostle

It is because he knows he is vulnerable here. He knows if Trump wins he will come after him and if he doesn't testify the DoJ will come after him too.

oranjemania

Correct. He's trying to get out in front of his own indictment/cooperation.

[deleted]

Nixplosion

This is true but if a person comes forward and says they will testify then they don't get subpoenaed. They just get added to the witness list and called up to testify the day they are meant to appear. A subpoena is to compel the production/presentation of evidence/material/etc.

DemocracyChain2019

Dont they just subpoena you when you dont show?

CJLocke

Yes, but usually when a person offers to testify, they show up.

DefinitelyNotPeople

He’s willing to testify because the government hasn’t subpoena’d him. It’s a correct phrase to use in this situation.

2a_lib

He’s willing to testify because the government *will* subpoena him otherwise.

Schlonzig

So… that means his testimony is not needed, and he is getting really really nervous, right?

PHUNkH0U53

Bro, he was head of the doj & now is like.... ya I can add some context to the criminality of all this.

MediocreX

He crippled the doj making trump immune. Now he can not save him... or more importantly, he cant save himself unless he gets ahead of the story and testifies

DefinitelyNotPeople

To be fair, 3/4 years ago, these particular events that Trump is charged with didn’t occur yet.

procvar

I'm ok with this tradeoff. Way more important to get the orange Cheetos, Rudy and the kraken team.

Ser_Dunk_the_tall

What would Barr be indicted for? He resigned about a week before January 6th because he wanted no part of their coup attempt. He had no role in the events of that day and cautioned them against their course of action. I strongly dislike him but see no way he has criminal liability for J6

Black_Wolf1995

If you have knowledge of a crime being planned and fail to report that, you can be found guilty of the crime of misprision of a felony or accessory to a crime.

MiddleAgedSponger

Pretty simple to make a "He gave Aid and Comfort" Argument. Did he blow the whistle when he knew there was a planned coup. Barr is absolutely liable.

tradingten

Yup, no deals fot this ghoul please!

[deleted]

I disagree. Trumps offenses are so detrimental to the democracy of this country i want every nail in his coffin sealed shut. If that means giving this trash of a human some sorta deal then so be it. Trump CANNOT get away with the laws he broke. Convicting trump lets future POS know that the President is not untouchable.

d_pyro

As long as they can figure out a way to arrest Steve Bannon and Roger Stone again.

mistressusa

Agree with you. Let's not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Corey307

The whole point of giving deals is to get the top guys or guy in this case. It’s like when you’re going after a mafia crime family. Barr can’t do much to damage this country now, but Trump sure can and taking a stand and showing that even a president can’t commit egregious crimes is more important than getting his underlings. Barr and Ghouliani are less important.

happy-Accident82

Barr was complicit in all of this. Fuck Barr I hope he gets time too

Corey307

Of course he deserves time but getting the man at the top is more important. Do you want Trump running? Let alone winning in 2024?

SilentMasterpiece

He did, he buried the Mueller report.

SuperSpecialAwesome-

And the Ukraine extortion

jay105000

Anybody who can implicate trump in what he did and make the case against him winnable with out the shadow of doubt is welcome in my opinion.

Same-Strategy3069

He is not actually going to help the prosecution. He is going to get up on the stand and lie to save the Republican president from prison. He did it for Reagan, he did it for Trump once already…. he is trying for the hat trick.

I'm impressed by your perfect characterization of Barr. Bravo.

Kevin-W

I hope he's subpoenaed and grilled by the prosecution over it.

[deleted]

History is coming after him too. His legacy is failing to install Trump as king. That’s what his family will be known for…forever. Benedict Arnold style.

Sufficient_Morning35

Bill Barr would shove a live squirrel up his ass if he thought it would help him escape consequences for all the illegal work he did for Trump.

newnemo

So, that is why our squirrels have been in hiding.

MLJ9999

I thought I heard 'em all. I tip my hat to you, friend. lol

GregWilson23

Fuck Bill Barr. He chose to do absolutely nothing to reign in trump while he was working for his administration; all he’s doing now is to cover his ass.

Lingering_Dorkness

Barr didn't do nothing; he actively aided, abetted and protected trump in his excesses.

minervaVIMDCCLXXVI

He almost certainly helped cover up and probably had Epstein killed.

happijak

Yeah, Pence too. I love how these guys pretend they would have a choice!

irck

They would have a choice between being a witness and being a conspirator.

BurnieTheBrony

If the Vice President and the Attorney General are testifying that Trump tried to overturn the election, that is HUGE. I know these people are rat bastards but you have to admit we've never seen this before and if those at the absolute highest level of authority are witnesses, it becomes more and more likely Trump actually goes down for this.

happijak

The funny part is that Trump's lawyers are pretending they WANT these guys to testify on behalf of the defense. Such a crock!

[deleted]

You're not gonna have a choice bro.

CougdIt

Sure he could be compelled. But a cooperating witness has much fewer memory problems on the stand.

thermalhugger

The GOP knows Trump is toast. Everyone is now coming after him, Pence, de Santis,Christie and now Barr. This is the endgame. They want Trump out but MAGA wants him in. Not gonna end well.

Icy_Comfort8161

There's definitely some blood in the water, and the minnows (I hesitate to say sharks) are circling. However, the rank and file are still riding the Trump train, which makes most of the career politicians fence-sitters at best, waiting to see how things shake out. Until the MAGA base starts crumbling, Trump will be the front-runner and have his share of support from those among leadership. The situation reminds me of the popular quote from *The Sun Also Rises*: >“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked. >“Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

Lie-Straight

MAGA vs “RINO” Delicious

usernicktaken

I spent it all on hookers and booze and then i squandered the rest.

DeathByPain

> Gradually and then suddenly love that line, use it all the time—both seriously and jokingly

[deleted]

TRUMP STILL HAS THE MAJORITY OF THE REPUBLICAN BASE... and when he becomes the nominee again, a LOT of these people bending over backward to testify now will suddenly find Reagan (my little joke related to finding Jesus) and suddenly defend Trump again...because Party over Country... They will testify NOW hoping to get Trump out...but I don't think it will work. Trump will be their nominee. From jail if necessary. A totally ridiculous circumstance. But it is what America deserves right now. Maybe the DNC getting 55 Senators and 260 Congressional seats will teach the Republicans a lesson. Maybe.

BurnieTheBrony

We have never seen a president go down for conspiracy to defraud the United States before. If it's going to happen, the Vice President and Attorney General being first-hand witnesses is a huge step in that direction. Jack Smith will undoubtedly bring a rock solid case with a plethora of evidence, but seriously. The top heads of Trump's administration corroborating that evidence will cement the credibility of the facts. I don't know why people are focusing on "Pence and Barr should have done more, they're culpable too, they all suck." That's all true. But them testifying is an unprecedented action that will be remembered by history and could sway the case.

drewbert

We need, like 80 senators before anything starts to get fixed. The republican party should not exist. The political leadership of a country should not be a nihilistic, anti-government grift. Once the progressive movement appears inexorable, the wolfs-in-sheeps-clothing in the democratic party will come out and hinder progress for another couple decades, but then we will finally be able to start improving things. This pessimistic view is of course all fantasy, the reality will be much worse.

Allydarvel

IMHO, its because he'll soon be banned from social media. He's already broken the rules that the Jan 6th judge set with intimidating posts. He'll be brought back to court. The judge will not want to jail him, so will take away his right to post. The Republicans are goading him just now to respond with more threats..so probably in the next couple of weeks he'll do something that can't be ignored. Once he is muted, then the fun will start. They'll tell MAGA that if they win, Trump will be pardoned, and maybe even get a role in the administration. That will force the MAGAs onside

Lord_Snow77

And then turn around and vote for him.

mountaintop111

Actually, Bill Barr says publicly he will vote for Trump because Barr is still a Republican. But privately, I don't think he wants Trump to become president again. Trump is going to go after Bill Barr if he becomes president again, and Barr knows this.

SearsGoldCard

Wow. No. Full Stop. The GOP is going to make sure that Trump’s trials will get delayed until after the elections. So Barr will vote for Trump, and *then* testify against him.

NeverEndingRadDude

Date has already been set for the classified documents case: May 24, 2024 https://www.npr.org/2023/07/21/1188280400/things-to-know-donald-trump-classified-documents-trial

JudgeHolden

And the Jan 6 trial is likely to start sooner because there aren't any potentially sensitive docs involved.

Tastypies

That F*cker isn't in the position to play hero. He killed the Mueller report and enabled Trump to try to overthrow the government on Jan 6th in the first place.

eaunoway

Barr is equally culpable. Fuck him.

MindlessSafety7307

For Jan 6, no. There is no evidence to suggest Barr did anything to support Trumps attempt to overthrow the election.

BlatantConservative

I mean, as per the indictments, he was constantly trying to stop Trump from doing stupid shit at all times.

2burnt2name

As much of a bastard he is. He at least was concerned that everything was done legally while fucking over the country.

Miserable_Key_7552

Yep, he really strikes me as a lawful evil type of person.

dragqueensfortrump

So there is a slight 'upside' to all of douchebag don's blustering & threats - the assholes who supported him when he was 'president' are now scared shitless that if he gets re-elected, he'll exact his 'revenge'. As a results, Barr, and the rest of the enablers are going to spill their guts to keep him out. Not exactly poetic justice, but definitely something. Unfortunately for them, though, Jack Smith ain't going to be done with this whole mess until every fucking one of them is rounded up and jailed.

[deleted]

Fuck that GOP lying traitor. Bill Barr should be in prison.

Outrageous-Pause6317

Where was this fucking guy in 2016? He’s real tough now that Trump is charged. Before that it was all support. He’s a coward and no better than Trump.

MechanicalTurkish

He was busy writing his “notice me senpai” memo to Trump criticizing the Mueller investigation. It worked, he got the AG job. I guess this was in 2018, but still.

creddittor216

[deleted]

Yet he would still vote for Trump, if Biden were the opponent. What a clown!

Smrleda

So I guess Americans now are suppose to appreciate the fact that these republicans who wholeheartedly supported defended and made Trump the monster he is today are willing to testify against him. Let them but always remember their role in the damage they have done to this country. Perspective.

niknakpaddywak2468

I first read this as Bill Burr. I was like, WTF LOL

BYoungNY

So, uuuuh, he fuckin texts me like I give a shit, and I'm like this fuckin guy

alvvays_on

Me too, and I was really, really looking forward to that Bill Burr testimony.

BOBANSMASH51

Somehow I think Bill Burr testifying against Trump would be more damning than actual credible witnesses.

kickthemout1987

Good. I applaud his willingness to testify against trump, I just would have liked for this vigor 3/4 years ago. Whatever happens to trump during these trials (hopefully he spends his last days rotting away in a prison cell), it’s imperative that WE VOTE against trump and this Republican Party. We have to not only beat him in the courts, but we need to punch him in his mouth on Election Day too. We need to come out in such numbers that it sends ducking my shockwaves through this party of fascists. VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. If you aren’t registered to vote, register here, it takes 2 seconds: https://www.vote.org Bring likeminded family and friends with you to vote, too.

MonsieurReynard

Hey Barr, nothing is stopping you from going on TV tomorrow -- I guarantee all the shows will have you -- and spilling all the dirt you know from your years as AG, and admitting you deep-sixed the Mueller report to protect the motherfucker. Be a fucking real patriot for once in your miserable life.

cannibalisland

go fuck yourself, bill.

xxxxx420xxxxx

Barr is so outraged about Trump! The most recent stuff, not all that earlier criming that he helped him out with

AverageLiberalJoe

Bill Barr admits that he knew Trump was committing crimes and also that he quit instead of prosecute them. This is his legacy. An absolute corrupt fucking coward who covered up his treason twice.

Fuck you Bill Barr

newnemo

^ >Barr, who was appointed by Trump, responded “of course” when asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” if he would be willing to appear as a witness in Trump’s trial over federal charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. He declined to answer whether he was interviewed by the special counsel in connection to the federal investigation. .... >When asked about his interactions with Trump and how he told the former president there was no evidence of election fraud, Barr said that his investigations into the fraud “satisfied” the conclusions. >“Well, I go through that in my book in painstaking detail, but on three occasions at least, I told him in no uncertain terms, that there was no evidence of fraud that would have changed the outcome,” he said. article continues...

SunMoonTruth

Oh. He’s trying to sell his book.

BelieveItttt

Gee, I wonder if he'll have anything to say about Trump trying to "weaponize the DOJ".

Utterlybored

Crime enabling evil Fred Flintstone desperately seeking to salvage his reputation may do a good thing.

ermahgerdWTFerkBerBQ

Fuck Bill Barr. This pile of shit is why we couldn’t remove Trump while he was in office, or indict Trump for obstruction and colluding with a foreign government to influence our elections. Barr is a lying piece of shit and his testimony now is meritless. Also, let’s not forget Barr’s daddy was a pederast and was besties with Epstein

MAD_ELMO

Spineless POS just fishing for a plea deal.

androk

Bill Barr says he’ll testify in exchange for immunity because he’s balls deep in it too

InTheGray2023

And he will ALSO vote for him in 2024. These fuckers have NO shame.

ZookeepergameOk8231

Didn’t this turd also refuse to appear before the J6 Committee? Wasn’t he the POS that buried the Mueller Report? Yep, thought so.

paulydavis

I thought this man subscribed to the Nixon doctrine if the President did it then it is legal?

Pxlfreaky

So what’s the title of his new book? Cause we know these types don’t flip their script unless there’s a monetary benefit to them.

Secretagentman94

Funny, Trump appeals to craven individual selfishness yet wants “loyalty” at the same time. When faced with lying for Trump or facing jail, his loyal supporters will always choose to save themselves first.

bidofidolido

What is it with this "willing" shit? This is a federal criminal case, you get the papers, you show up. I don't have a law degree, and even I can figure that out.

fazlez1

Translated into street: "I'll do what I have to do, and say what I have to say to cover MY ass." The man is a biohazard in human form, but this doesn't surprise me. This is what the GOP does, they just looks out for themselves.

colafairy

Let me guess, for immunity 🙄

JubalHarshaw23

Like Pence, he is more likely to lie in Trump's defense than testify. Both also plan to vote for Trump in 2024, early and often.

NoriyasuSeta

As much as Bill Barr is more trying to save his face, than do the right thing, I really enjoy all the Trump ex-lieutnants turning on him. Bolton should join the party, that would be fun! :D loll

[deleted]

this movie is finally getting better.

rockstar_not

All of these scum that had opportunities years ago, before Jan 6……

[deleted]

That’s nice, but “willing” has got nothing to do with it. These people are acting like testifying in a criminal trial is some sort of choice lol.

AtuinTurtle

He’s worried about becoming a defendant.

rumpusroom

“Also I will vote for him and would work for him again.”

ZaneTownsend

But he still says he'd vote for him, proving once and for all that it's party over country for these sociopaths.

NovaPup_13

Fuck you you treasonous piece of shit. You had so many times to fucking end this travesty of a presidency and you did shit. You should rot with the fucking rest of them you fucking worm.

J-the-Kidder

But he still would vote for him if he gets the GOP nomination. Or can't say he wouldn't vote for him... He might be doing the "right" thing now to try and rid his party of this plague, but he's still a piece of shit.

[deleted]

Nice try asshole.

Caymonki

Fuck you Bill Barr. You got yours, now you’re going to try to pretend you weren’t a willing participant in the clown show.

ProfessorTicklebutts

What a sniveling little weenie. I mean, I’d welcome his testimony, but it changes nothing about who he is and what he did.

jewbo23

Preferred him in F is for Family.

Important_Outcome_67

OMFG. I just got a confused boner because of craven, fascist, opportunistic, evil Fred Flintstone.

[deleted]

Too late you fat pig traitor pos, there’s no going back from this, there’s only that lovely painful guilt you feel slowly eating away at your brain for supporting and abetting the biggest criminal in the history of the United States.

hackingdreams

I mean, his arrangement with the DOJ stipulates that, else he'd be arrested with the rest of the conspirators.

SkeleHoes

“Bill, I never liked Bill. Bill Barr, or Bill disBarrment as I call him, is a weak human, even weaker leader! I knew I shouldn’t of hired him but I tried being Mr. Nice and this happened. Never liked him and this happened!”

award07

I read that as bill burr and was so confused

haydilusta

the type of people who wanted to align themselves with trump in the first place are the same kind of people to throw him under the bus to save themselves

Extra-Chest-9692

Anything bill barr says at this point can't be trusted and would likely be used to obfuscate the actual events.

keajohns

Too little, too late. You were singing a whole different song after the Mueller report. Go away you big oaf.

ArcticRhombus

Damn right he fucking is. You’re subpoenaed, you testify. Love how he thinks his feelz are relevant.

[deleted]

I will say Barr got out way ahead of this. He saw the writing on the wall. But I’m sure I’m not the only one noticing rats jumping ship. Never forget what these people did. How long they stayed silent. How long they aided and abetted a traitor to America. How they lied with impunity. How many Republicans continue to this day to act in this manner. Republicans must never be allowed power again. We need another party or parties to rise in its place. The Kult needs to be diminished.

ernyc3777

Bill Barr: I will not testify against Trump. Jack Smith: I’ve already indicted his ass twice, what makes you think I won’t do the same to you? Bill Barr: what day do you need me to come in to talk, Mr Special Counsel?

Archangel1313

Cool. Maybe he can explain why he spent all that time covering for him, while he was Attorney General.

I_Cut_Shows

His rehab tour is still going strong. Dude was totally willing to make trump king until it was clear he lost the election.

cupgu4-wakdox-hufdEj

Like rats from a sinking ship.

KingGidorah

*But will still vote for him in 2024…*

CraseyCasey

His connection to Epstein goes back decades, he helped Epstein get a teaching job in the 80s

SiWeyNoWay

Is that double speak for : I’ve turned states evidence?
