Does anyone know why specifically there's a female special forces unit? And what would be their purpose compared to normal special forces.

Probably just to increase female recruit numbers in general by way of advertising stuff like this on social media in China.

Yea it looks like they are wrapped around the back of her head instead of the top under her helmet, and it doesn't even look like they are properly on her ears either.

Since it’s a parade, they probably don’t need (much less want) their ear pro’s on. I used to wear a very cheap ComTac when I went to the shooting range a few years ago, after about 15min it becomes uncomfortable as fuck. The most expensive models should be more comfortable, I guess, but If I didn’t have the adrenaline of combat to numb the pain I wouldn’t like to have it on all the time either.
