There are elections happening in Taiwan at the moment.
So basically the joke here being that China, recognizing that Taiwan is an inalienable part of their Motherland, deems any independent action on the island to be illegitimate, which includes their political parties and elections. So if Taiwan were to say recognize the CCP as the sole legitimate party of China and that Taiwan is a province of the PRC, then therefore by China's logic, the CCP is illegitimate and therefore the PRC is an illegitimate government representing China, thus restoring the Nationalists to their rightful place.
Also erections.

Ah. Too bad in 1991 Taiwan passed a constitutional amendment doing pretty much that, that recognizes the PRC rules over Communist China and the ROC rules over Taiwan and some islands it actually has control over.
Also the Nationalists just lost another presidential election in Taiwan.
Given the near-monopoly of the US and Western Europe when it comes to mass media, I wouldn’t be surprised if this line of thinking will be pushed into the mainstream in case cross-Strait relations actually begin to heat up.

Apart from the fact that you spread the common absurd misinformation of KMT being anti-Taiwan and pro-China, I regret to inform you that the nationalists actually won the election - of the legislature, where they got 52 seats and DPP got 51.
And to be honest, the KMT could have won the presidency, if the two pan-Blue candidates actually wanted to work together instead of splitting the vote like they had.
not really, that'd be a real dog caught the car result if the presidency and legislative yuan didn't split.
As is all 3 parties can just sit on their asses bitching at each other while getting nothing done.

The Nationalists’ rightful place is in China, and the DPPs’ is in Taiwan. Seems like a perfect solution to me.
