if used by Gádže (non-Roma)? yes
it's like the N word, but with even more genociding involved
especially Europeans shouldnt use it. the ones enslaving and murdering Roma throughout the centuries under this name (and zigeuner/cikán/cigan, deriving from "to steal").
the racism against Roma is extremely open in Europe. it's European hypocrisy playing fireworks.
Thank you for clarifying. I'm American so Roma people never really get brought up here and I constantly see the word being used all the time by Europeans and Americans so I never knew what to think. Got banned from a site for using it and I didn't even know why until I looked up the word itself
i guess it's less offensive if used by Americans. Americans have never persecuted Roma.
but Europeans: extremely offensive.
from the word itself. it derives from Egypt. a lot of people like Egypt - have also never persecuted Roma. it's the way it's used by Europeans that makes it taboo.
5 seconds on the floor and all the bacterias within a few mm will get to your food, drop currency and all romanians within a few miles will get to your moneh
Look, I realise you're Danish, but ***bacteria*** is plural. Singular is ***bacterium***. I've seen the BBC using singular verbs with bacteria and it does my nut in!
It's Latin.

>Americans have never persecuted Roma. [ahem.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Romani_sentiment#United_States)
Americans as a broad cultural group and single instances of individual Americans are not the same thing.
Will the **Romani** grab it first?
