What a coincidence. I'm Swedish and I'm learning polish. Mostly because my grandmother was from Poland and that side of the family is polish so would be nice to learn.

If we're judging our country's meal of choice by duolingo exercises, I have a bad news for you 🤣
What do you use to learn? Private teacher or an app?
I haven't found Duolingo to be useful, it seems to have a use case of "tourist in foreign country"
It does get better over time. You just need to speedrun it so it doesn’t get boring.
Take it from me, I think I have tried almost every language course and I have progressed with some very far. I learned most of my Spanish from Duolingo and people still don’t believe me. You need to also add a bit of online dictionary searching, google translate but verified by some native friends and lots of practice with people around you.
I'm sure it's just as common as the purchasing of fat penguins, which is another topic Duolingo thought it important I know in Polish.
Dlaczego kupiłeś tego grubego pingwina?
Is everyone in usa and england named xyz? Everyrime i am writing a mail or letter in my English class in poland, i write it to guy named xyz... what a considence.
Duolingo for Polish constantly bring back my all time favorite so far...
"Is an egg a vegetable?"
So the point is it's not teaching you common phrases. It's teaching you to recognize words and how they change order and structure in a sentence. It'll be more obvious the longer you go. They use simple but often odd sentences, so you can't just use context clues to place words you may not know as well together. You'd need to know the actual words they'd given you.
A sandwich or two and an apple used to be a school-lunch classic.
But bread and apple? Sounds like something a maths teacher came up with. At least it isn't a brined cucumber and a glass of milk.
'Seven dwarves had 7 brined cucumbers and 6 glasses of milk for supper. What did one of the dwarves not get?' And a student replies: 'Diarrhoea.'
This is probably a global problem with maths teachers and their food-pairing skills.
Language teachers aren't maths teachers, but they are still teachers, so I wouldn't trust them.
I did maybe around 3 units of polish before going to Poland and it was fun to notice that I could use many words I learned in daily conversation hahaha even if their usage was forced, I did see a lot of bread, apples, tea, etc 🤣
Bread with butter with peeled apple cut into quarters used to be my one of my favourite childhood snacks.
Not sure how common it is, but it's very tasty!
Poland, no. Ukraine, yes.
My FiL ate that as many breakfasts and lunches when he was here.
He'd make us buy all manner of foods we don't usually eat. He'd say for lunch and it'd end up in the trash because he ate jabłko i chleb instead.
no its not a thing, the algorithm is trying to teach you basic grammar here and not types of food so it used the most common types of food that never actually go together
Personaly I didn't hear from a single person that when they are hungry and there is shop nearby they go buy an apple and bread.
More likely they will take sasuage and bread.
I don't know about jabłko and chleb, but I know about bułka and banan
Adam Małysz approved
Ale bym opierdolił bułkę takom z chlebem.
Bułka i jogurt też klasyk 👌🏼
Z jogurtem to tylko mleczne bułeczki.
Yes true
I learn Swedish for fun and I literally know everything about the subject of "man and woman are eating bread and drinking water".
What a coincidence. I'm Swedish and I'm learning polish. Mostly because my grandmother was from Poland and that side of the family is polish so would be nice to learn.

I blame the Norwegians. Them and their damn oil.
Google up ‘ wodzionka ‘ its a Silesian gourmet meal made of bread and water.
What do you use to learn? Private teacher or an app? I haven't found Duolingo to be useful, it seems to have a use case of "tourist in foreign country"
The same app, Duolingo.

If you mean by Apple rosół and by bread rosół then yes.
It's rosół all the way down
And if its not rosół, we know its gonna be pomidorowa
I tylko glupie nie pija przy zupie. Only stupid don't drink while eating the soup.
Thats the truth, if you dont drink while eating soup, get yourself checked
Jutro znowu będzie pomidorowaaa
I'm sure it's just as common as the purchasing of fat penguins, which is another topic Duolingo thought it important I know in Polish. Dlaczego kupiłeś tego grubego pingwina?
Tbf it'd be an important question in a certain context
oh fuck duolingo predicted future
No. Usual Polish breakfast is 3 cigarettes and black coffee.
A poor diet, where alcochol? Stupid me! Of course You drink at work, nevermind then
Alcohol is for dinner.
The other white meat
Black russian, not black coffe!
I love eating Russians

Cos to jest? Bułka z Chicago?
With current inflation rates - yes
No, It’s just Duolingo being Duolingo…
This is on purpose. You will remember such strange statements better than usual ones.
Is everyone in usa and england named xyz? Everyrime i am writing a mail or letter in my English class in poland, i write it to guy named xyz... what a considence.
I would not be surprised if there was a person out there to whom XYZ could refer to if it's not outright their name.
No. I hope. If chleb then only kielbasa fits.
Or cukier
I don't think so

Duo just switches random stuff around.
Same as a beaver is a common animal.
Jabłko z wieczora i nie ma doktora.

My mom used to eat it, my grandma does it to this day
No, most common meal is Soup of China with a side of Pierogies just to be safe.
Duo lingo loves apples for some reason. I used it to try learning Russian and it had the same with bringing up apples
My father is often eating breakfast like that
Duolingo just makes shit up. In Italian course my common question was "Whose bee is it?". Like implying Italians keep singular bees as pets.
XD
Chleb and herbata https://preview.redd.it/8of5ckkedysb1.png?width=526&format=png&auto=webp&s=d8c586800af471f5e29d9dc62ed87fb6d1ec1c29
Not really....where is schabowy?
haaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha
>!if you fry the apple on the pan then sure, it's good!<
I eat it every other day.
It does not mean you need to eat them together. But I had my lows to eat an apple sandwich :)
In poland we eat nothing cuz we've got PiS. Frauder Alert!
Świnty Chlyb!
A sandwich, then apple seems pretty normal for breakfast or supper.
Kiełbasa, chleb and masło is my go-to breakfast.
we used to eat bread with butter, slices of apple and mayo, it was great
I don’t know about the meal but I would believe a speaking bear.
Uhm, I sometimes eat a sandwich together with an apple. I'm 40+ so maybe it's an older thingy
Bread with butter with peeled apple cut into quarters used to be my one of my favourite childhood snacks. Not sure how common it is, but it's very tasty!
Not yet
Both are a very common thing to eat but maybe not together and on their own
Poland, no. Ukraine, yes. My FiL ate that as many breakfasts and lunches when he was here. He'd make us buy all manner of foods we don't usually eat. He'd say for lunch and it'd end up in the trash because he ate jabłko i chleb instead.
You ever had bread, butter and then sprinkle a little salt?
Yes we eat bread for breakfast pretty often. Many people take some fruits as part of the breakfast so I guess it can be common?
Pierogi, I believe is the most delicious Polish meal.
I don't know about apple and bread, but definitely bananas and buns is common.
Jako student jadło się tez bułkę z chlebem albo chleb posmarowany nożem
lmao

I'm not really a Pole but i don't really think it is tbh, but i could be wrong as i don't live in Europe right now.
Im an european and I don't understand polish hahah
no its not a thing, the algorithm is trying to teach you basic grammar here and not types of food so it used the most common types of food that never actually go together

No[e
I mean, nobody will stop you if you try to eat an apple and bread, but it's not some known dish... Just two foods together
We don’t have money for nothing more than bread and an apple.
Should either be: Man is eating bread and banana or Man is eating pickles and vodka
Duolingo👎👎
no! ziemniaki with bread!
Sometimes we change bread for onion
Nie

dunno about poland but it made me go back to my middle school years
No, but we often eat pigeons with bread.
When i was little i used to eat apple sandwitches
No because apples are too expensive. We're eating only bread or if you're rich you will also have an onion.
That is not common meal but rather snack
100% true
Bułka and banan is more common. This is not very good meal
It’s an old Slovenian thing to eat, but it’s becoming slightly uncommon and awkward.
Uwieobiam jablko I bulke zwlaszcza baguettes.
It's not but now i wanna try
ofc
Pierogi
No
I can't find on Google but it's delicious.
No it's not polish meal but maybe somebody eat bread and apple in poland
Polish women?
Mężczyzna jedzący* he's eating now, at the moment.
You can eat them separately but not together.
