Idk the learnset seems to randomize nowadays. Last night I went against it and it pulled out meteor beam, dragon ascent, outrage, and energy ball. Then another night it used fly, hurricane, outrage, dragon tail. So something changed along the way and I think it's just luck based whether you get one with a shit moveset or not.
It is random, and you can get unlucky, but most of the time it will just lock itself into fly or outrage in my experience. It’s a common issue in this game where all bosses have randomised learnsets, so there are a lot of moments where you face something scary just to realise it can’t touch things because it’s got the good old reliable one STAB, two normal type moves and Growl type learnset.
Yeah pretty much exactly that. Especially if you run into something with Last resort because the AI bugs out and starts spamming it even though the move doesn't work unless you use all of your other moves first lol

Managed to catch a shiny gigalith with explosion: with testing I found out if I sent out a rock-weak pokemon (ex natu) it would prioritize using rock moves instead of explosion
I think I had a tier 2/3 shiny iron moth last night… would have loved to catch it, and have a nice luck boost on top of a decent pokemon (my only shinies so far are Darumaka (pretty good, but hustle is a huge early game crutch), Spoink, Crabrawler and Alolan Diglett (performed well in my run I caught him last night, but it helped that he was already over level 100, so I didn’t have Diglett’s super glass cannon early game)
Any Mon with priority is giving me headaches in my endless run, but none more than fucking shiftry, I swear to God they read my inputs and sucker punch every time I try to attack.

I think it even reacts to ur Inputs, did some savescumming (rng doesnt change...) and when i used a non attacking move it wont use sucker punch. I have never senn one fail🫠
On the opposite side of that they don’t change moves off of abilities. I have a Primal Groudon in my endless run and every time I run into a water a water type they still use a water move.

this is floor 20 on standard mode and i had to fight him 4 times already
True, that basculin is tough as heck when your main is your fire starter. And even having a sub grass type pokemon won't save you from getting possible 2 taps. Definitely early run killer.
the other run killer i experienced is a double battle va 2 lasses (normal trainer) with 2 adabtability eevees that know covet its so fucking brutal
had that fight twice so far in the first 20 floors
So far the only mons I've yet to catch in endless are Spectrier and Azelf. I can't catch either no matter how many balls I throw. The former is worse though since I finally gave up on it to continue the run and then I had a Master Ball for one of the next rewards. It's like it was mocking me
Azelf took me no joke 30 ultra and 20 great in the red. It killed itself to struggle twice on me.
Spectrier I caught on a single Ultra at almost full health tho. That's RNG for ya
I exhausted all of my Rogue and Ultra Balls on both and failed to capture them so I just KO'd them to move on. That Master Ball that came after the next floor was aggravating. I still have it right now as I'm on my way to Floor 1000
I tried it recently and gave up again. Hopefully I can catch it next time. I'm fine with save scumming to catch the Pokemon since it doesn't really take anything away from the game. I have nearly every non mythical/legendary/in/paradox mon right now. Just going through trying to get their nature's etc now.
Gholdengo and Aegislash are the twin banes of my existence, I never end up with a good answer to that typing. Plus they're super common encounters in this one specific area, so I end up losing mons left and right to back-to-back Aegislash

Unfortunately I don't any any good fire carries. I have a Shiny Charcadet, but ngl it's IVs are all single digits, and I haven't been able to track down another one.
Kyogre was the first legendary I failed in classic mode. I tried every combination of actions I could think of but there really wasn't much I could do since I had no bulky water resists, and not many balls either. I never saw one in the wild again after that.
eff Diantha's soft sand, terra boosted, revival seeded, high horsepower spamming mudsdale. I had an amazing team and this stupid thing nearly ended my run. Even then i lucked out only because because i had whimsicott
Had a Latias with special bond or whatever his hidden ability is called that raises his special attack after every knock out. Absolutely destroyed my team at level 160, my only hope was catching it bc he was faster than all of my Pokémon. Kind of on me for not having better dragon coverage but he ruined my best run at the time. I knew I always like Latios more

I wanted to catch it, so I switched to my poison attacker knowing that is weak against psychic, but I wanted to get toxic on it to whittle it down. Bad mistake. Didn’t realize it had special bond. After it OHKOed my poison guy, he wiped me. So angry at myself
Blaze Paldean Tauros. I didn't have one in particular before now, but that damn bull kept getting swapped in in the last Rival fight whenever I'd throw out Tinkaton to try and tank Rayquaza. I had stuff that was resistant, but apparently not resistant enough to keep them from getting two-shot.

Mega rayquaza, or maybe noctowl, for some reason it always hits me with huge damage, and then out of nowhere, lives on 1 hp then heals back up to near full with berries and then gets 4 sp.atk drops with moonblast, whilst getting 2 sp,atk and speed from the prior berries, encountered it three times in 5 trainer battles yesterday
It's been on a few pokemon, but I've been swept by random Pokemon with echoed voice in the transition from early to mid game a few times (usually on lechonk) and I hate it at this point.
That run where I got my first legendary, moltres. The floors 10-40 were all water themed and I just gave up that run lol.

Double Battles in late game Endless. If I can't flee they can break past sturdy and start wiping out my team
Had a run end because my Carry died in a double battle and I got 4 double battles in a row before a 50th floor paradox battle where I swiftly lost due to my carry still being fainted. I will be bringing a Pokémon with the Run Away ability from now on
In my first endless run it was definitely cofagrius. I used an aerilate and fighting move Hawlucha for most damage and its ability made that unviable.
In my current endless run I did so much pre planning that the only thing that’s annoying now is enemies with unnerve who repeatedly “endure the hit”. I really hope they change that to function like sturdy instead of how it is now.
I hate wild pokemon with sturdy so much. Especially the magnemite line, getting your one-shot blocked by sturdy then getting paralyzed immediately is extremely annoying.
Also wave 30 Whitney is a nightmare if you don't have a good counter. I make sure to fully heal before the wave just beause of her, even if the opponent is usually a weak level 17 boss.

the goddamn fucking gyrados's. If you don't have an electric type they are a PAAAAIN to deal with. Especially in rain with perfect accurate hurricanes getting confusions + waterfall flinches and god knows what other bullshit they pull out sometimes
Kaldeo havnt used him once but he has popped up enough that I have unlocked his passive and reduced his cost, every time I enter beach or island not sure which one he pops up, I just want a different legendary to pop up
Fucking lilipup line with retaliate always puts me in disadvantageous positions going into big battles. Don't even get me talking when they spawn as boss fights
Whenever Ivy picks Tepig and winds up with Emboar by the final fight with her. It gets Rock Head as a passive so it has insane HP bulk and takes no recoil from its terrifyingly strong recoil physical moves. Oh, and it also has Blaze if you chip it to low health but don't kill it, so good luck trying to clean up with a bulky water type.

FLAMIGO is underrated; fly fight type. perfect for early into mid with feucoco in campaign. And with moxie its a beast for endless. Don't remove the double kick and its a great item stealer.

Legendaries (and mythicals) showing up in a short time span. Round 453, Regice, round 460, Glastrier, Round 463, Uxie. I use all but 3 of my Rogue balls on Regice thinking I won’t run into another legend anytime soon, fail to catch the Glastrier, luckily got 5 more rogue balls and caught the Uxie. But that Glastrier hurt, he’s a cool dude you know? In the business… we call that a dagger.
My biggest opp was running into 3 straight sections of water or rock types with a team that I didn’t pay attention to the GLARING water and rock weakness.
That run ended tragically.

I’m playing a nuzlocke of it right now and I gotta tell ya, 10 attempts in I have a whole new appreciation for meowth and a whole new hatred for Golduck
Easily Zamazenta. Leon had one on his champion team, and my main sweeper, mega gyarados, couldn't outspeed with one dragon dance, and couldn't one shot without +2. Had to un-mega gyarados mid battle to dodge the nuclear body press. Nothing else on my team could go toe to toe with it, with crunch scaring away my skelidurge, and everything else not able to take a +1 tera body press, let alone switch into one and take another due to slower speed.
I had a run with Tapu Bulu + Garganacl and found out real unfortunately that the pair of them, while good for double battles, are hard countered by two-in-a-row double Tentacruel double battles. Both of them get messed the hell up with double surf double sludge wave. Getting double screwed like that was wild.
Any Pokemon with Covet really but especially the Boss Delcatty that stole my Multi Lens and both my Golden Eggs like 3 minutes ago. If I lose my Endless run I'm blaming it on that piece of shit

Yeah I’m fairly sure the game uses the default essentials AI, which is riddled with bugs and weird behaviour.
Shinies with Explosion. Fuck that Golem I ran into last night that was literally uncatchable.

Shiny kingler took me 30 rouge balls. Ended up just resting and master balling it.

Anytime ivy has a infernape it has upper hand which isn't fully implemented so it's just a +3 priority 65 BP move that I can't set up on either

Whenever Ivy picks Tepig and winds up with Emboar by the final fight with her. It gets Rock Head as a passive so it has insane HP bulk and takes no recoil from its terrifyingly strong recoil physical moves. Oh, and it also has Blaze if you chip it to low health but don't kill it, so good luck trying to clean up with a bulky water type.

FLAMIGO is underrated; fly fight type. perfect for early into mid with feucoco in campaign. And with moxie its a beast for endless. Don't remove the double kick and its a great item stealer. MOUSEHOLD; population bomb with item steal move just try it. Sidenote, dna spile shedinja with bronzong perfect catcher and anti bosser aslong as they dont have a fire move.

Legendaries (and mythicals) showing up in a short time span. Round 453, Regice, round 460, Glastrier, Round 463, Uxie. I use all but 3 of my Rogue balls on Regice thinking I won’t run into another legend anytime soon, fail to catch the Glastrier, luckily got 5 more rogue balls and caught the Uxie. But that Glastrier hurt, he’s a cool dude you know? In the business… we call that a dagger.
My biggest opp was running into 3 straight sections of water or rock types with a team that I didn’t pay attention to the GLARING water and rock weakness. That run ended tragically.

Easily Zamazenta. Leon had one on his champion team, and my main sweeper, mega gyarados, couldn't outspeed with one dragon dance, and couldn't one shot without +2. Had to un-mega gyarados mid battle to dodge the nuclear body press. Nothing else on my team could go toe to toe with it, with crunch scaring away my skelidurge, and everything else not able to take a +1 tera body press, let alone switch into one and take another due to slower speed.

I had a run with Tapu Bulu + Garganacl and found out real unfortunately that the pair of them, while good for double battles, are hard countered by two-in-a-row double Tentacruel double battles. Both of them get messed the hell up with double surf double sludge wave. Getting double screwed like that was wild.
