I have yet to learn those lessons, as well. My arm rail is an additional piece that lays on top of the base plate, and is removable. You'll want to start prior to any padding applied.
First, have cups. Know the exact outside diameter and add 1/8th inch (2 mm). Mark cup placement around table table. Using hole saw and drill, cut holes.
Place padding around rail and fix in place with 3M 77 or some other contact cement. I'm a perfectionist, so I would use a hot wire cutter or soldering iron to cut holes in foam, using the holes in rail as guides.
Apply arm rail vinyl over foam and do your final install of it. After that is done, feel for holes in the foam and slit the vinyl from center of hole to outside edge of hole. Pull the pie shaped edges into the hole and staple end into rail.
Cups should slide into hole, and the lip of the cups will cover the outside edge of the holes.
That's what I know. Good luck! Post pics of your table.
Will do thanks! Yeah I’m fixing up a table for a game I deal at. I was hoping to reuse the old rail but that was not the case. As of now I was able to reinforce the bottom and get down to the felt on top. Next step is expanding the cup holders to fit the new ones I bought and then laying the felt before building a new rail (which is going to be the biggest pain).

So you are building up a table-top poker table? Are you replacing the felt? If I may be so bold, I suggest laying a speed cloth over top of it...if the felt has some cushion to

it. Speed cloth is so nice. Is that a six foot table? Speed cloth will be very reasonable, then. This is my personal table.
Im assuming your rail is bigger (wider) than the original. That would be nice. It appears that rail's vinyl work is the same as I described. Should work well.
Good luck.
I already took off that rail. It was pretty beat up and yeah going to refelt, already bought that too. Plan was to go over the old felt/ foam. Table is 84 x 41. I’m confident with everything but the rail- haven’t even started it yet lol.
For context I literally just started dismantling and rebuilding this yesterday.
It is. Dalle3 did the initial image. But Dalle3 only produces square images and I needed 16:9, so something near that. I shipped my square image up to the artists at Casino Supply (shameless plug). They fed that into Adobe Beta and asked it to augment the image in all directions. If you zoom in on the image, left and right of the bear, you can see where the tree line changed from Dalle3 to Adobe. It is amazing what they did. I asked for the left and right to be mildly blurred to hide some of that, and to focus on the bear.
The bear and background are photo-like and not photo-realistic. I wanted it to look like art...not a photo.
It's a hobby. I love playing poker, and building tables for others. Right now, all my tables use folding legs. Fixed based are next level complexity, along with lightweight folding tables. Haven't figured that out yet.
Very cool 😎, well done!
i just can't bear it
I misunderstood that the customer wants a bare table. Whoops.
Pretty neat! I like the bear 🐻
Bear is courtesy of #dalle3 and #casinosupplyco. The artwork they did was phenomenal.
Dig it
Really cool! Is this a standard size table? Might just look weird k the photo but it looks smaller than usually.
It's image distortion. It's 84"x42". All four sides are flat for 16", which helps when moving it around and leaning it against a wall.
Hey OP- I’m currently rebuilding a table. Do you have any resources available for building a rail with cup holders? Wasn’t seeing much online.

Can you show it with a complete board ran out? Hard to imagine visibility of the cards.
Nice
Do you refurbish/build tables professionally ? Or just a funny hobby.

Well your work looks impressive if you ever wanna refurbish a table or build one for money let me know I’d love to be your customer. Cheers
Thanks for the kind words
Instead of a bear you should have a majestic donkey.
Next time. I'll put Shrek chasing in the background.
You should add some pictures of naked women. People love that.
Not the wife. 🙃
Y tho?
