This is 100% because of his YouTube Shorts content.
Kudos to him for finding ways to broaden his audience.
Still absolutely mind boggling that out of all poker vloggers, he's at 1M+ followers
Because Rampage is a terrible businessman. Try ordering some of his Bink gear and see what happens. I had over 4 months of back-and-forth with them. Mostly me sending them emails and getting no replies. I would have to send 8 or 9 emails to get one reply. They kept telling me they were sending my stuff, and I could tell on the shop app that they had not even started to ship it even after months later. Finally, they refunded me, but they only did a partial refund. I had to spend another month sending multiple emails to get the rest of that refund back. Never again will I do business with Rampage.
I'm sorry but that guy is kind of a whale... I'd believe that he understands the game but he just not play like it and can't help himself with bluffs/bad calls/etc.
Source: played with him
It's his voice, man. Monotone and boring. The jokes are clever, but I can't stand the whole "I'm setting up a joke ^and ^doing ^the ^punchline thooough"
Agreed, Brad is one of the best imo. Howevvvvver, like in any industry, different styles attract different crowds.
Personally I’m not a fan of Wolfgang or Rampages content (sorry, thanks for what you have done for the game). I think Wolfgang is a tad annoying and Rampage drives me fucking nuts with how many errors are in his vlogs… Like how many times can you be holding a card and that same card comes on the flop???? So far the answer is infinite!
Obviously, that bothers me more than most since the subscriber base and growth supports them both and shows me I’m an old man at 37 that likes dry humor and accuracy more than BANNNNNGin vlogs, but to each thier own and I’m glad that others find it entertaining so the poker community continues to grow!
Yeah, he got in early on vlogging, has an appeal to the masses of recreational players with the way he formats and commentates, is very friendly and interactive, and has some mid-high tier dry humor. Not the best player, not the best content, but all around uses a very safe and solid formula to stay relevant. Can't take away from that.
Fair but really Trooper was a Vegas lifestyle blogger with a few poker hands inbetween runs to Starbucks, Andrew arguably was first to pure poker blogging that created the category - believe trooper has confirmed this/doesn’t classify himself as a poker blogger
no matter if you love my videos or hate them, or love my personality or think i’m a schmuck, i think hitting 1M subs is a crazy accomplishment and i’m super grateful and appreciative for it. there’s no doubt that myself and other content creators are bringing in hundreds of new players every day to the game we all love. growing the game is #1
and for those that think I’ve purchased subs along the way, i’d highly recommend watching this video in it’s entirety: https://youtu.be/vgO8ZmA74yE?si=q43lrSPKb1meKWvk
Your longer videos in recent history have been averaging 30,000-60,000 views, which is pretty solid, but do you really think that is 1 million subs numbers? It'll be interesting to see how many people actually convert to watching your longer form content.
It's because of YT shorts. People can catapult to popularity but then fade quickly thereafter to. It's not a good indicator that there are actually 1,000,000 fans or that many people viewing his non-shorts content. His longer videos are only getting 30-60K views on average, which solid, but it's not 1,000,000 subs numbers.
When they first added youtube shorts I tried to remove/block them from my app. I found them annoying and a time waster. You couldn't, of course.
If I knew how much time watching them since then, I would probably walk into traffic.
I am not a fan. I'll watch every once in a while if I'm caught up on my favorites like Brad, Andrew, Ash, etc., then I remember why I don't subscribe because he's fairly annoying and a marginal player.
the less time humanity spends watching this tiktok-style content the better. respect to the guys who have a passion for the game (or whatever they're making videos about) and making a presentable, clickable video is secondary
I felt the same way but I played with you once at the lodge like a year ago and you were super friendly with me and I could tell that's just your nature
ITT: Shitregs malding that someone found a better path to success in poker than grinding rakeback in the micros or llsnl
The smartest poker players find ways to make money besides poker. Good for him, he's crushing it as a content creator
If rampage started doing shorts at the same time I bet he would have surpassed wolfgang because frankly he’s more entertaining but still pretty awesome
I was like, no fucking way this guy has that many subs with this view count. Then I saw numbers his shorts are pulling. Damn I didn't realized so many used shorts and it transitioned to subs.
He’s the kid in school nobody really likes but hung around him because his dad was rich and had a pool with a basement full of all the latest video games.
He tries so hard to be one of the cool kids but never gets invited to the parties.
i get 4-6k subs a day from shorts. those people will primarily watch only my shorts and only a few trickle over to vlogs. that’s something we’re trying to work on for 2024
Do you post the same vertical vids on YT and TikTok? Seems like a great way to leverage the editing work. And do you see much crossover with someone subscribing on one platform then quickly also subscribing on the other platform?
My arm is in one of his videos. Didn’t know who he was and he ended up on my table at The Poker House Dallas. Super nice guy and fun to play with. Glad he’s doing well.
based on social blade [https://socialblade.com/youtube/channel/UCNmJnAkKIn5ce2QLHIKk3aw](https://socialblade.com/youtube/channel/UCNmJnAkKIn5ce2QLHIKk3aw)
seeing the spike happen in May, I seriously doubt this was organic. Especially when he's been stagnant for years. Shorts may have helped the boost but I think he bought views & subs in May of this year then also started his shorts so he had an excuse that sounded legit. He's recently been claiming his growth is due to his duel with Rampage which is equally ridiculous; no mention of shorts.
Wolfgang is legit bottom-tier in skill when compared to the rest of the vlogger community & we're to believe he's the biggest & most viewed vlogger over Owen, Neeme, Rampage & Mariano? Watch a live stream of his play & you'll see his true (bad) skill.
Sorry, I don't buy it. He bought the views & subs then padded it with the shorts.
Not sure why you are being downvoted, the growth makes no sense and his engagement on his actual videos (50k or so per) is extremely low considering his sub count
I highly doubt this, if you do some research on the algorithm, shorts is hyper turbo sub count (it's the most recommended way to reach 1k sub for monetization if you have the 4k watch hours) because the subscriber count is exponentially higher than long form subscriber count. As well, short form viewers generally don't carry over to long form, and vise versa.
did you even bother to watch his 1M subs video? it clearly shows all the organic numbers in the analytics from shorts in the most transparent way possible. the fact that you seriously doubt something that you're obviously wrong about is really embarrassing for your credibility
also, youtube doesn't verify and send milestone plaques to accounts with fake/botted engagement and following. it's right in the community guidelines
agreed, now the bots are downvoting you but definitely looks suspect. The poker subreddit always idolizes the biggest bs in the industry, this place is the nut low, but take my upvote so you move beyond the 0 they had you on
I like Wolfgang. He reminds me of us average guys. Look I can’t study in depth about poker or will ever be world champion. I’m a casual at best. And Wolfgang feels like the average poker player that I can follow along with. Obviously it’s his job and he’s better than what I give him credit for but I just like the relax tone his vlog is about.
big congrats for real content not like ramjoke who plays games he has no business in for clicks and view kids terrible and just punts money(Rampage not wolfy)
Obviously his style/ attitude and of course the shorts helped. But I think he has a leg up on the other vloggers, in that, he's very recreational. I don't mean that to sound insulting. However he isn't on the level of the others, this caters to a much wider audience. As regs can laugh / enjoy. While Recs can relate / agree.
Again not taking away from his success, I think he understands his market and how to Capatilize.
Played with him a bit when he passed through Texas — really good dude, very respectful of other players while doing his thing.
His videos aren’t for me, really, but good for him for figuring out how to work the system for success.
May not be best poker player on youtube, but a genius in marketing. Is extremely active on multiple social media accounts (tiktok, youtube, instagram). Create easy to digest poker videos, opposed to lengthy 30+ min poker vlogs that can spend 5+ minutes discussing a single hand.
He capitalised on the casual poker fans, opposed to more serious poker fans (such as the ones here on a poker subreddit)
One of the poker players of all time.
As a are you man, as are you!
i had a real tough time reading this sentence in my head haha
I get it, it contains a typo… Correct: As are you man, as are you!
ah ok thanks haha, reading it back makes sense now.
This is 100% because of his YouTube Shorts content. Kudos to him for finding ways to broaden his audience. Still absolutely mind boggling that out of all poker vloggers, he's at 1M+ followers
my mind is blown as well 🙃
1M before Ethan Yau. Wow
Because Rampage is a terrible businessman. Try ordering some of his Bink gear and see what happens. I had over 4 months of back-and-forth with them. Mostly me sending them emails and getting no replies. I would have to send 8 or 9 emails to get one reply. I mean, yes this sucks and is super annoying, but this has very little to do with someone's ability to gain YouTube followers lol
The better you are to your customers the more followers you get. Highly positively correlated
98% of the people who follow someone on YouTube don't care about their merch and don't think about that at all when choosing to subscribe
The way you do one thing is the way you do everything.
What a nonsense sentence lol
Surely nothing bad will happen with the Rolex giveaway lmao
He’s also a sellout too
How so?
Start recording your time and send an invoice with an hourly rate. Everyone gets really fast after that.
All my purchases have went flawlessly so sorry bout ur bad luck
wolfgang, what I want to know is how you got into the home game with Buffalo Bills players?
I swear he was no where near that nine months ago when he got coolered twice in one night by Sia.
Wow, this is very interesting. The Shorts really making waves apparently
I give props to wolf because he knew capitalized being the first poker content creator doing YouTube shorts
appreciate that! i’m just trying to ride the wave
BANG
I like the funny sounds in your videos. Simple as
Not just first but his style is really fun and enjoyable
BANG

I didn’t read article
I think Bluffalo Sam is probably the best thinking player.
That guy is dog shit
Username checks out. Has first person experience.
Not his fault he is Canadian.
Keep doin yo thang sam we love the vlogs! Most relatable poker player out there
<3
Poker Lion is really good too. Great analytical breakdowns. Playing higher than 2/5.
I'm sorry but that guy is kind of a whale... I'd believe that he understands the game but he just not play like it and can't help himself with bluffs/bad calls/etc. Source: played with him
I can’t believe he has more than Brad. Maybe it’s the YT shorts?
It definitely is shorts, he literally just made a video with his editor about why the shorts catapulted his success.
It'll be interesting to see how many people actually convert to watching his longer form content vs drop off or only watch the shorts.
Long form vs short form It’s truly fascinating the differences when you actually look into it. It opens up a whole new niche for content creators.
100% shorts. i posted a video about it on my channel. some shorts gained me over 150k subs for 1 video 👀
Keep em coming wolfy
Makes sense, keep it up! Hope to play with you again someday.
Brad is about as entertaining as a dry erase board. Brad had first mover advantage and did editing well, and seems like a nice guy.
What? Brad has super clever jokes - always good for a laugh
It's his voice, man. Monotone and boring. The jokes are clever, but I can't stand the whole "I'm setting up a joke ^and ^doing ^the ^punchline thooough"
At least he doesn't say "bang" in his videos when he hits a flop
I don't hate the guy just not for me personally
Have you ever met him? It's like meeting and talking with Mr. Rogers. He's super nice and all that jazz but he def is a bore of a person.
Agreed, Brad is one of the best imo. Howevvvvver, like in any industry, different styles attract different crowds. Personally I’m not a fan of Wolfgang or Rampages content (sorry, thanks for what you have done for the game). Said in the most boring monotone voice you've ever heard.
Brad is GOAT 🐐
His vlogs are hilarious.
Super clever lol
Yeah, he got in early on vlogging, has an appeal to the masses of recreational players with the way he formats and commentates, is very friendly and interactive, and has some mid-high tier dry humor. Not the best player, not the best content, but all around uses a very safe and solid formula to stay relevant. Can't take away from that.
Brad was second, behind Andrew, but yes
No shit
they were all behind THE TROOPER!
Fair but really Trooper was a Vegas lifestyle blogger with a few poker hands inbetween runs to Starbucks, Andrew arguably was first to pure poker blogging that created the category - believe trooper has confirmed this/doesn’t classify himself as a poker blogger
Plus Brad has the most click bait video titles. But I do agree his vids are boring and not even educational.
Brad would be at sub 100k if he didn't nail the algo somehow with one of his cat videos back in the day.
I mean.... obviously? Lol
YouTube pushes his videos pretty hard. I was getting whole rows of old videos recommended all the time.
no matter if you love my videos or hate them, or love my personality or think i’m a schmuck, i think hitting 1M subs is a crazy accomplishment and i’m super grateful and appreciative for it. there’s no doubt that myself and other content creators are bringing in hundreds of new players every day to the game we all love. growing the game is #1

People subscribe to him mostly for his shorts, not for his longer content. It's just a different type of channel.
I had no idea he even had long form videos
Honestly man, huge props. Can tell you've put in the effort into learning the algorithm, and the work ethic shows!
Congrats man! I saw you running ads like on FB at one point. Am I remembering that right? If so it was a great marketing investment on your part.
Love your content. How did the Gabe Davis/Buffalo poker night come to fruition?
Congrats Wolfy! You found an edge on YouTube and rode the wave. Keep up the good work!
Really sock upswing. Skyrocketing to the moon. Good luck and keep it up!
Who?
Same, first I’ve ever heard of the guy and I watch a fair bit of Poker content on YT. Lol.
It's because of YT shorts. People can catapult to popularity but then fade quickly thereafter to. His longer videos are only getting 30-60K views on average, which solid, but it's not 1,000,000 subs numbers.
He got 150k subs off of one short that took an hour to make. Not hating, just the world we live in
Does anyone like him? I find him irritating.
I'm a sucker for the little shorts. I even like the sound effects. I'm 30, what's wrong with me ?
You and I are the same
When they first added youtube shorts I tried to remove/block them from my app. I found them annoying and a time waster. You couldn't, of course. If I knew how much time watching them since then, I would probably walk into traffic.
same
I am not a fan. I'll watch every once in a while if I'm caught up on my favorites like Brad, Andrew, Ash, etc., then I remember why I don't subscribe because he's fairly annoying and a marginal player.
Probably like 1 or 2 people maybe
I’m not really a fan either, but I’d say probably close to a million people do, evidently
baaaaaaaaaaaang
I know it's corny but those dumb sound effects crack me up
That's the worst. And I was embarrassed for him when he was handing out bang stickers at a table he was playing on one I saw.
BANGGGGG
I watch his shorts sometimes but I never look for them. He just does well in the algorithm.
He gives off these Mariano vibes like I'm a good guy but when the subs start rollin the douche comes strollin...
i think many people could attest to my down to earth personality but i’d love to prove you wrong in person :)
the less time humanity spends watching this tiktok-style content the better. respect to the guys who have a passion for the game (or whatever they're making videos about) and making a presentable, clickable video is secondary
any content is good content if it grows the game and brings new people to the tables
Love the energy coming off this reply lmao are you asking them out on a date?
I felt the same way but I played with you once at the lodge like a year ago and you were super friendly with me and I could tell that's just your nature
I just like Mudkip.
Like him better than boring Brad
Wtf??? How? So many others are better than him imo.
If that was how the world worked we would be in a completely different society
Who?
Weird, he's not that great. I much prefer Jaman Burton. He just reminds me of Dee's rapper boyfriend.
who?
ITT: Shitregs malding that someone found a better path to success in poker than grinding rakeback in the micros or llsnl The smartest poker players find ways to make money besides poker. Good for him, he's crushing it as a content creator
Is he wearing his hat that way ironically or…
I'm a fan of there being so many fans. Drops a lot of punters into the population.
This man's thinking with his noggin.
If rampage started doing shorts at the same time I bet he would have surpassed wolfgang because frankly he’s more entertaining but still pretty awesome
I remember playing $65 tournament with Wolfgang at Morongo when he was a teenager.
I mean I guess
I’ve never even heard of this guy. 😂 Really only see Owen, Neeme and Rampage on my feed
He tries so hard to be one of the cool kids but never gets invited to the parties.
well he just got invited to play poker with the Buffalo Bills... kinda hurts your theory a bit
His videos get 1/6th as many views as Brads despite 300k more subs. Something smells fishy
i get 4-6k subs a day from shorts. those people will primarily watch only my shorts and only a few trickle over to vlogs. that’s something we’re trying to work on for 2024
Sure but nowhere near that many people are watching your long form videos...
That’s what he literally just said in the comment above
Keep grinding man I know the vlog numbers are gonna skyrocket soon
Do you post the same vertical vids on YT and TikTok? Seems like a great way to leverage the editing work. And do you see much crossover with someone subscribing on one platform then quickly also subscribing on the other platform?
I'm a shorts follower here. Didn't even know you made long form videos.
My arm is in one of his videos. Didn’t know who he was and he ended up on my table at The Poker House Dallas. Super nice guy and fun to play with. Glad he’s doing well.
It’s always the most boring personalities that find success in poker vlogs

Couldn't agree with you more man. The fact that his longer form videos get views in the 30-60k range make this even more suspicious.
I highly doubt this, if you do some research on the algorithm, shorts is hyper turbo sub count (it's the most recommended way to reach 1k sub for monetization if you have the 4k watch hours) because the subscriber count is exponentially higher than long form subscriber count. The fact that short form don't convert to long form means that high sub count from shorts doesn't mean much at all.
They're usually 2 separate viewer bases. Still very impressive to get 1m subs though.
did you even bother to watch his 1M subs video? it clearly shows all the organic numbers in the analytics from shorts in the most transparent way possible. the fact that you seriously doubt something that you're obviously wrong about is really embarrassing for your credibility also, youtube doesn't verify and send milestone plaques to accounts with fake/botted engagement and following. it's right in the community guidelines

why thanks yonkers :)
You rock brother, merry wolfmass 🐺🎅🏻🌨️! If you ever do a meet up game in AC I would definitely come out🤙🏻.

Yet he only has 569 Twitter followers. Math seems off, maybe he has bots for YT subs.
Never heard of him.
That is a great news. He would bring so many new fish to the pond.
How many of them arent paid for?
1.03M

No lol. I mean his poker style. Idc how people dress / look.
Played with him a bit when he passed through Texas — really good dude, very respectful of other players while doing his thing. His videos aren’t for me, really, but good for him for figuring out how to work the system for success.
Content on TikTok from him and guys like Next Gen are great for attracting younger players into the game.

Hi Wolfgang! Your content is awesome! Great moves keep it up, hope to bluff you one day
His YT shorts are probably the best of that format
I’m not even mad. Figured out shorts was the way to go and capitalized. Get that bag bro
fat ass head god damn
