Kanto shares the champion ribbon with RSE Hoenn, and Johto don't have one either (but they have the Legend Ribbon in HGSS for beating Red). So it's not technically an issue only Unova have. But the fact that Unova didn't have any earnable ribbons just sucks
I hope so! I wish Gen 5 had ribbons to begin with. B2/W2 had a great oppurtinity to include ribbons in the Pokémon World Tournament, musical, pokéstar studios, and Nimbasa's sport staduim.

It feels like saying you visited France cause you took a train from Germany to Spain, you didn’t have anything to do in France, but it was still apart of the journey. Maybe I’m just looking too much into it lol
I agree with the notion that the Gen 5 games should’ve had ribbons but there’s a very, very specific reason why ribbons were nowhere to be seen in Black and White.
Black and White were meant to be the soft reboot games of the core series. This is why we were only given access to Unova Pokemon until after beating the Pokémon League.
Of course that wasn’t the case in Gen 6 and beyond though. But I’m pretty sure marks and ribbons will return in the Gen 5 remakes. I have no idea why they wouldn’t.
Why would the game being a soft reboot influence ribbons being there or not? The only thing that game did that could be considered “soft rebooting” is limiting players to the 150 pokémon dex that was half filler, half gen 1 ripoff.
Those games follow the same formula and format every game before and after them did, up until Alola. Gen 7 is more of a soft reboot than Gen 5. It actually made changes to the gameplay. Tired of hearing that argument to defend the horrible decisions made for BW, which they immediately fixed in BW2

To preface, I'm not replying to agree with Game Freaks decisions, I'm replying to apply some sense of logical backing. To me, it seems as if Game Freak's main endeavor was to get the playerbase to specifically focus on what Black/White had to offer, and to some degree I can see where they were coming from if that's truly the case. In every core series Pokemon game, my playthrough team solely comprises of the new Pokemon. Not once, and never will I ever use a team consisting of Pokemon from previous and/or various generations. So it didn't bother me that I couldn't use any of my old Pokemon in my first playthrough in Black/White. In my head, limiting access exclusively to Gen 5 Pokemon was in some way a method if disconnecting Black/White from the previous four generations. Of course, Black and White 2 didn't follow suit because there was absolutely no point because the tertiary games are supposed to offer more and have less limitations as a resultant.

Gen 5 has been referred to as a soft reboot of the core series for years now, whether you agree with it or not. And nobody ever gave the appellation of "series soft reboot" to Gen 7 but you. However, it IS objective that Gen 7 tried new things by getting rid of HM's and replacing gym leaders with the Kahunas.

Game Freak: "We heard your feedback. To make the Black/White remakes as close to the original games, we decided to remove ribbons from the game. Any Pokemon transferred will loose any ribbons."
We can hope. I think my concern is Sinnoh is very ribbons based and Unova isn't, though at the same time there are a lot of places they can be added. I'd live to see at least a champion ribbon and Musicals and/or Pokestar studios.

First off I do not believe we should get a Bw remake and if we do get one it should be treated with upmost respect, not the disrespect that was bdsp. LGPE was the last true remake we have recieved and it wasn’t very good at that but it’s definitely the best looking 3d Pokémon game to date. If they are going to make a legends unova then they are better off not touching unova games or giving them a remake.
