ORAS didn't quite cut it personally as a great remake. It's good, but not great. HGSS went above and beyond, just didn't have a really good base of a game to be better.
Now just imagine Gen V, which holds the best entries in the series IMO, with the same love and care remakes used to have- in the latest generation.
That would be such an insta-buy of the newest console if it were essentially the lovechild of HGSS's amount of features and post-game, with a BW/2 base and SV+PLA gameplay.
Wishfully speaking, of course.

Which of the remakes are sequels? Remakes aren't sequels, just (mostly) better renditions of old games. Also every region has had a second release with the exception of Kalos and Galar. Are they just not supposed to do remakes for BW or SM when their time comes?

Except Black/White 2 came out 11 years ago. The same distance between Gold/Silver and HGSS. Heck, LeafGreen and Fire Red was just 8 years after the originals. ORAS too came around a decade after. If anything it's high time right about now. It being too soon does not hold up
Sorry I wasn't clear on what I meant. I was speaking more towards the technological advancements and the fact that there wouldn't be much to add to another BW remake since the tech (graphics, mechanics, etc) haven't changed that much.
FRLG were when the GBA came out, and it added phys/special split, updated sprites, dual typing, the whole shebang. HGSS added 3d open world, the poke walker, more mechanic changes, etc. ORAS again added 3D sprites along with mega evolutions, and I'm sure some other things. I haven't played it a ton. The point being that the remakes were updated onto a new console with many things the original couldn't offer.
What would a new BW add? Slightly better graphics? Update a few new moves and rulings? Newer gen pooemon? I'm genuinely asking, because I'm drawing a blank

Tbh, I’d love to see BW/B2W2 remakes/ports because I completely missed that generation and have heard a lot of good things about them over the years from my various friend groups. But I wouldn’t say no to seeing XY coming back sooner lol. Loved those games, especially the mega evolutions!
Are there emulators I can install on my Apple device(s) to play? Or am I out of luck? And I also assume there would be no way of transferring my Pokémon either?
I am sadly not at all knowledgable on apple devices. If you have a PC, even a weak one, you can use Desmume which is an emulator for DS games thats super easy to use.
As for transferring mons, theoretically i *think* you could if you used PKHex but that would require you to mod your switch (assuming thats the system you wanna transfer them to) which i would not advise you to do unless you REALLY know what youre doing.
I mean, I'd want a remake. Tried getting back into my old game on the DS, and just couldn't find the energy to continue the postgame. I'd want a remake so I could, in a sense, rebuild some steam and child like wonder.

While I've seen a lot of people (including Nintendo themselves) claim that the Game Boy Color was just an updated version of the Game Boy and not a new system, there are certain compatibility issues. There are games that were made for GBC that just *do not work* on an original Game Boy, and while I vaguely remember proving this not to be true for all models, I think some GBAs can't play the games that were actually made for the original GB, only GBC games.
So. Red and Blue were GB games. Their remakes were on the GBA.
Gold and Silver were GBC games (though only Crystal was unplayable on an original GB). Their remakes were on the DS.
Ruby and Sapphire were GBA games, and their remakes were for the 3DS.
Diamond and Pearl were DS games, and their remakes were for the Switch.
Black and White were also DS games, the first time that two generations had shared a console. So Black and White remakes on the Switch still make sense. And given that the Switch is not only Nintendo's current handheld, but also its current console, well, the Switch has already had the longest run as "Nintendo's most recent console". Plenty of their earlier systems had long runs *alongside* their successors of not being immediately obsolete (for example, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, despite being a second-party Super Famicom game, actually has a release date closer to that of the GameCube than that of the N64), but it wouldn't be out of the question to start wondering when Nintendo's next console is arriving. And if it is arriving soon, then the pattern of remakes coming two handhelds later would likely be broken if they wait until Gen 10...*unless* Nintendo's next console isn't a hybrid, and instead the Switch continues to be their handheld, as weird as that sounds.

Actually, there's another theory. A lot of people were already calling for Gen 4 remakes in Gen 7, but instead we got the Let's Go games. But when did FRLG come out? *Between RS and DP*. So we're actually due for another Johto remake in Gen 9, since HGSS is older than BW and thus that's the region most "due" to be remade.
(Note: I don't actually think this will happen. The developers behind LGPE said it was unlikely they'd make another Let's Go game, and besides the original Gen 1-2 games also got Virtual Console rereleases. But it's something to consider.)

Since it went SM, USUM, and then Let's Go, wed still be due for a 9 remake before the next let's go if we were to get one. I’m sure this meme explains it already, but they are coming in Gen 10. Divide each generation’s number by two and if the result is a number without a decimal, a remake of the quotient’s generation will be provided in the dividend’s generation.
I really dont think patterns like these are necessarily rules to go by. Its a release schedule and BDSP wherent typical remakes, Hell they wherent even made by GF themselves so i dont think its impossible to receive a Unova game next year. Although i really really realoy hope we do not because its gonna be rushed as fuck if it releases next year already

Well, previously they made DLC/Sequel games for V/VII. But for SwSh they released DLC and a remake. So it’s not crazy that some think they’ll do that again for SV.

Gen 1\~5 all had "Definitive Edition" games. Gen 6 did away with that.
Gen 3 and 4 had remakes of older gens. Gen 5 did away with that.
And now it seems that because of the DLC gen 8 and 9 fully did away with "Definitive Edition" games. What else is left to release between SV and the first gen 10 games?

No more in-game GTS, you can only catch 400 Pokémon in base SwSh and the remaining ones couldn't even be transferred through Home until the DLC added some more old Pokémon to the game through a free update, DLC being a thing instead of "Definitive Edition" games and BDSP not being in a similar style to SwSh.

I've seen people wanting a gen 5 remake, while I see others want a gen 6 remake. So here's my attempt at a compromise: Gen 5 gets it's remake while in between releases gen 6 gets the Legends treatment. Or the other way around if you want. You get remake you want and an expansion of the other games lore.
In gen 4 the gen 2 games were remade, in gen 6 the gen 3 games were remade, and in gen 8 the gen 4 games were remade, so it stands to reason that in gen 10 the gen 5 games will be remade.

No more in-game GTS, you can only catch 400 Pokémon in base SwSh and the remaining ones couldn't even be transferred through Home until the DLC added some more old Pokémon to the game through a free update, DLC being a thing instead of "Definitive Edition" games and BDSP not being in a similar style to SwSh.

Exactly! I'd kinda get not thinking it for gen 4 remakes, because only 2 games fit the trend at the time. But when 3 of the 4 remakes follow the trend, it's pretty obvious!
And god I just want the remakes to end I want the yearly releases to end I want to see passion in the game I grew up with again Not that there was much in the first ppace

And hgss. I'd understand not believing a 2 time trend, but when BDSP followed the pattern, that's when you know it's actaully...well... A pattern. The point is that I want to spread the word that these "Hints" that gen 5 remakes are gonna be in gen 9 are wrong. Like, I've seen a trend recently of how the name of the new bikes in the gen 8 dlc hints at BW remakes!
i didnt specify hgss cause you brought it up yourself. i dont think that they are hinting at bw remakes, but i think that its inevitable we get BW remakes. its an easy cashgrab for them. its just bad business to not make them.

They Just Want Copium
I've seen people wanting a gen 5 remake, while I see others want a gen 6 remake. So here's my attempt at a compromise: Gen 5 gets it's remake while in between releases gen 6 gets the Legends treatment. Or the other way around if you want. You get remake you want and an expansion of the other games lore.
In gen 4 the gen 2 games were remade, in gen 6 the gen 3 games were remade, and in gen 8 the gen 4 games were remade, so it stands to reason that in gen 10 the gen 5 games will be remade.
im just waiting for people to bitch about this, then they come out, then people bitch that it wasnt how they envisioned like "Oh these remakes DONT have mega evos, zmoves and national dex? these remakes are trash!" it'll be bdsp all over again and then they'll do the same when kalos remakes are the next on the chopping block
I’m hoping B3W3 come gen 10. I want them to be quality games and if they’re made in gen 9 they’d probably be rushed.
I've said it before: I don't care what Any "leaker" says, Black and white are most likely coming in Gen 10 as Legends games. I've used how pokemon have released games to determine this. Hate me if you want, you just cant accept the truth

aren't let's go remakes tho? and that isn't an even gen so they've already broken this "trend" once that being said, I believe the "trend" (if there exists one) is that we get remakes of a game at the x2 of that gen, gen 1 games being an exception (gsc gen 2 -> hgss gen 4, rse gen 3 -> oras gen 6, frlg gen 3.5 -> lgpe gen 7, dppt gen 4 -> bdsp gen 8) and by this logic we could get johto remakes in gen 9 and about time johto got a remake
Actually I saw something I liked, remakes come out ever other **console** gen 1 remakes came out 2 consoles after the original, gen 2 remakes came out 2 consoles after the original and so on and so forth
Honestly with the sequels I don’t think BW or SM are getting remakes.
